Authentic chinese food. Taste good. Thumb up! What else I need to say? Clean Bathroom, Handsome waiter, Nice Decoration. Stupid yelp needs at least 85 characters.

Shows how many were waiting despite COVID. Same amount as in front are behind the photographer.

Long wait despite calling ahead. Did not feel attended to by staff despite the wait. Felt like they didn't care much about enforcing a head count inside, as there were many people waiting. The food itself was good... adjacent. It was not overly greasy like at some places which was great! However they made mistakes with our order, sending us home with a completely incorrect dish. They even told us they could not remake what we actually ordered, so we just had to deal with it. The flavour was good, though not super flavourful. I found it bland, though my partner really liked it as she finds many locations "over do it". So might be a taste thing. See photos for how busy the inside was despite social distancing "guidelines". Shows how many people in front of me. All waiting on orders. Some sitting. About the same amount of people are in line behind the photographer as well. When folks left the tables they waited at they did not appear to be sanitized.

Standard, well priced Chinese food with large quantities and a good variety. Tonight we tried the crab fried rice, seafood chow mein, eggplant in fish sauce, fried turnips, and seafood tofu. All were just as expected and a generous portion, as we filled up several take out containers after we finished eating. Service was quite slow tonight, but they mentioned being understaffed for the Monday night. I'm a visitor to London but heard that this is one of the better options in the area for Chinese food. It reminds me a lot of the "Congee Queens", "Congee Kings", etc in Toronto.

Congee Chan was an unexpected surprise when I came to Western to visit a friend. Let's just say I was prepared (although unwilling) to be eating a burger for dinner that day. Congee Chan was thankfully referred and I had a [spoiler] great dinner. The restaurant was relatively empty at 5PM in Tuesday but gradually filled up as we ate. My boyfriend got the Singapore noodles with chicken instead of pork. The portions were MASSIVE. I loved how much protein the lot into the dish. Definitely a must try if you're into fried noodles. I got the beef brisket lo mein. I didn't see it on the menu but they said it was do-able. Great portions again with noodles and brisket. They even gave me a big container of hoisin sauce ((when places in Toronto skimp you and charge you more )). Overall this is the go to restaurant for all future Waterloo visits!

Heavy snow today so opted for some warm minced pork congee plus BBQ Duck and Spicy soft shelled crab fried rice. Very nice flavors, awesome portions and very very fast service!

I am pleasantly surprised by their Chinese food and the restaurant itself! The portion sizes are generous, the flavours are authentic, and the restaurant is roomy and clean. I would highly recommend the Singaporean fried vermicelli. It's loaded with seafood, BBQ pork and vegetables, and just the right amount of spice. The soy sauce chicken and sweet and sour pork are delicious, too! I can't wait to try the rest of their extensive menu!

Crispy noodles are my all time fave!

This restaurant is unique for its serving style - if you order individual seafood, you eat with your hands from plastic bags. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that we were able to keep ourselves relatively clean. We ordered a pound of mussels with garlic sauce, crawfish with lemon pepper sauce, and a fish teriyaki dish with seafood assortment. I loved the garlic sauce, as it gave the mussels a great kick. I wouldn't recommend the crawfish, as they don't have much meat. I felt like I was just nibbling the shells for the sauce. However, the fish teriyaki was a solid choice. Overall, it was a filling and tasty meal, and it came out to less than $20 per person. With so few customers in the restaurant, service was relatively prompt, but I would recommend more frequent water refills, as the sauces were quite salty. We had to personally wave over the waitress in order to get water. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend Captain's Boil if you enjoy seafood like I do. Glad they opened up in London!

I've travelled quite a bit to Sarnia on business. I've heard from local colleagues that I should try Halibut House Fish and Chips. What drew me was the fact that they served haddock as one of the fish, and I have had fond memories of haddock fish fry. My colleague and I went there the other night and we really enjoyed our dinners. Both of us tried the haddock (and I also tried the cod which was also excellent). I loved the accompanying cole slaw which was not mayonnaise based, but vinegar based. The fish was a very large portion. It was not greasy (because they fried it at a high temperature), and it was flavorful. Lots of other places don't pay much attention to frequent change out of their fryer oils which take on a bitter taste and will be imparted to the food. That's because the structure of oil has changed from their use. This was not an issue at Halibut House. I didn't notice any after-taste. My compliments to the crew for paying attention to these details. The batter was very light and it complemented the fish, which was very fresh. As the frequency of my travel there is increasing, they can count on my future visits.

This time was a dinner for three. We started with a dozen oysters on the half shell that were fresh and delicious. Appreciated that we were notified that they have Happy Hour Tues-Fri 3pm-5pm with 1/2 price oysters. Also had the Fried Smelts which were tasty. Two of us had Craft burgers. This time they did arrive as ordered (last time med rare arrived well done) but they mixed the orders. One was med rare and the other rare. Not nice having to change burgers after each taking a bite. Despite the mix up the juicy burgers and fries were excellent. The other order was the Braised Beef Cheek Birria Grilled Cheese. This was very good but a touch pricey at $28 for what you get. Speaking of price, the craft burger is $24. I asked for a side of mayo for the fries and it arrived promptly. They charged $2 for the mayo which was not mentioned. Considering that our total bill ran $250 it seemed out of place to charge for mayo. One of the best reasons to come to Craft Farmacy is to try craft beers which they rotate regularly. We each enjoyed a beer or two. For desert we ordered their Chai Crème Brûlée and Crack Pie with gelato. Both are highly recommended. We also had glass of sherry that unfortunately was off and had to be sent back. Replaced with a glass of Port. When the bill arrived the sherry was not removed, they did take it out when we caught the mistake. Our meal was much better than the last visit. All of the food was well prepared this time but the little mistakes on burger mixup and sherry on the bill were disappointing. Still if looking for a good burger and a great beer you can do a lot worse than Craft Farmacy.

I tried the Garlic's burger, which was okay, but nothing special, though still decent. Very kind service staff from start to finish. Didn't matter who's table it was, we were treated very well and had swift actions despite their busy peak hours. Interior is lovingly local with loads of signed art posters of shows while keeping furniture of decor looking pretty modern. Bread 5/5 Usually I highly prefer warm bread, but the bread was a nice spongey foccacia with a lovely chew paired with a fresh spicy olive oil dip. Good enough for some seconds! Garlic bisque - 5/5 Fresh black pepper grind for this boy as well! Super creamy, super delcious, fully delivers on all the garlicky glory. It was their only soup but I'd have another one to be frank. Didn't get a good picture of this sadly, but nice swirl presentation with the oil drizzle. Garlic frites - 5/5 This was probably the only dish I didn't think was garlic'ked to the high heavens, but it did have a nice light fry to them with a good and balanced seasoning to them. I'm not familiar with this cheese they use a lot of, but it does have a nice complexity to it without too much grease. The dip though, it was just beautiful with how smokey and much umami it had with a light citric bite at the end. Garlic's Burger - 4/5 The only critique I had with this was with the bun, which was unfortunately rather dry / thick compared to the burger itself. Otherwise it works pretty well in terms of composition as the buttery goodness of the roll blends with the rather tender patty (despite their 3oz. sizing they were remarkably tender even without much pink at all). The side we got was their caeser (option for fries or soup alternative). Very creamy (and garlicky, as promised by the name). Hot and smokey fettucine - 5/5 It was nothing like I imagined it when I ordered it, but remarkably creative as it was rather far from typical italian that I've had. Technique wise it was top notch, which edged it closer to a thai or chinese dry noodle stir fry without any obvious sauce base (afaik just oil and spicy pepper). Very solid amount of heat as a good medium for the spicy-minded, which is surprising given that it's the only item on the menu marked spicy. Flavor-wise the chicken came out closer to what I'd imagine sausage to be at with how smokey it tasted, but with a nice aroma to it from browning the noodles and garlic.
