    Fish and chips

I'm convinced that Kipps is one of the best choices for fish and chips in London. It's so popular that when I decided to buy for the first time 2 hours before closing, they had already closed orders for the day! I knew better for the next time and pre-ordered for pick up a few hours after opening lol. The place felt local and the short customer service we received at pick-up was kind and courteous. We ordered the Saturday NZ blue cod and chips special (doesn't come with coleslaw) and shore dinner (halibut fish and chips, coleslaw, 4 scallops, 2 oysters and 4 fantail shrimp). Everything was fried to perfection - not too greasy with the right crisp. The fries are my fav kind too - cut large, crisp on the outside and soft and potatoey on the inside. The coleslaw was also good. I would recommend just buying the fish and chips and skipping out on the other stuff I got because although good, it wasn't anything special. I only got a really quick snap after eating half the meal because we were so excited and hungry to dig in haha. So trust me - it was yummier than what my picture might show. :) My only comment (and it's a big one for me) is the tartar sauce. It's very bland and not tart at all - almost like mayo. We had seafood sauce for the fantail shrimp and that was more tart. A big part of fish and chips for me is the tartar sauce so unfortunately I won't be ordering from here again. This is not as big of a dealbreaker for my boyfriend on the other hand so he's definitely going to be going to Kipps more in the future haha.

Delicious! Best fish and chips in London. The whole family enjoyed the experience. Service was also perfect.

You have to dig deep in London ON to find an eatery whose food is not, in a word, terrible. This place is a total anomaly for London, in that it is the best fish and chips I have ever had in my life. Anywhere. Hands down. Including in Ireland and England. This place is so popular that people just step through the door and the proprietress knows their order. The phone doesn't stop ringing from regulars calling in. The owner, Jacquie, takes great pride in this having been her father's place for 40 years and mentioned that fact, and him, frequently as I sat and dined. It is truly a labor of love, and that shows in the amazing, delicious homemade food. Don't do anything but order the halibut meal with the house-made tartar sauce. Your mind and palate will be blown.

Very disappointed, last 2 deliveries so over cooked and dark brown, as distasteful as the delivery guy was.

This restaurant is unique for its serving style - if you order individual seafood, you eat with your hands from plastic bags. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that we were able to keep ourselves relatively clean. We ordered a pound of mussels with garlic sauce, crawfish with lemon pepper sauce, and a fish teriyaki dish with seafood assortment. I loved the garlic sauce, as it gave the mussels a great kick. I wouldn't recommend the crawfish, as they don't have much meat. I felt like I was just nibbling the shells for the sauce. However, the fish teriyaki was a solid choice. Overall, it was a filling and tasty meal, and it came out to less than $20 per person. With so few customers in the restaurant, service was relatively prompt, but I would recommend more frequent water refills, as the sauces were quite salty. We had to personally wave over the waitress in order to get water. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend Captain's Boil if you enjoy seafood like I do. Glad they opened up in London!

This time was a dinner for three. We started with a dozen oysters on the half shell that were fresh and delicious. Appreciated that we were notified that they have Happy Hour Tues-Fri 3pm-5pm with 1/2 price oysters. Also had the Fried Smelts which were tasty. Two of us had Craft burgers. This time they did arrive as ordered (last time med rare arrived well done) but they mixed the orders. One was med rare and the other rare. Not nice having to change burgers after each taking a bite. Despite the mix up the juicy burgers and fries were excellent. The other order was the Braised Beef Cheek Birria Grilled Cheese. This was very good but a touch pricey at $28 for what you get. Speaking of price, the craft burger is $24. I asked for a side of mayo for the fries and it arrived promptly. They charged $2 for the mayo which was not mentioned. Considering that our total bill ran $250 it seemed out of place to charge for mayo. One of the best reasons to come to Craft Farmacy is to try craft beers which they rotate regularly. We each enjoyed a beer or two. For desert we ordered their Chai Crème Brûlée and Crack Pie with gelato. Both are highly recommended. We also had glass of sherry that unfortunately was off and had to be sent back. Replaced with a glass of Port. When the bill arrived the sherry was not removed, they did take it out when we caught the mistake. Our meal was much better than the last visit. All of the food was well prepared this time but the little mistakes on burger mixup and sherry on the bill were disappointing. Still if looking for a good burger and a great beer you can do a lot worse than Craft Farmacy.
