The TLDR here is what BTRMLK dropped in vowels, they more than made up for in flavour!…read more While on a short trip to London with a few colleagues, one suggested BTRMLK and needless to say, I was in the moment 'fried chicken' was mentioned. My secret love for fried chicken does not give any restaurant the license to serve any old fried chicken, Its got to be good..... REALLY good. I was sold on its '8/10' ranking and was told that this place is better than the Stockyards in Toronto. BTRMLK is in the student area of town and there was free parking in the lot. Its located in the corner of the plaza and has no seating or a place to stand and eat. I thought this was odd but quickly realized that this place churns out about 1 order every 3 minutes! There were people in and out of the place non stop. The staff, although busy, was really patient and pleasant. I got the Honey Popper fried chicken sandwich (Jalapenos, Honey, Cream cheese, and their house sauce), and my colleague got the Original Nashville hot (honey mustard, pickles, coleslaw and house sauce along with a Nashville hot fried chicken). I wanted in on ALL the action so we asked the staff to cut the sandwiches and they obliged (while in the middle of about 20 orders). My first bite: Oh hell to the yeah, delicious bun, crunchy exterior, tender chicken and cream cheese cut but the pickled jalapenos - so so so good! I demolished my half. Next was the Nashville hot - it was spicy but SO flavourful! The slaw works itself perfectly into the heat and it all comes together into what I can only say it the perfect sandwich. My final verdict? I will be thinking about this place and I will need to return. 5 stars here for Food and Service! Special shout out to Lily for the introduction.

There's no better way to feel old than to go back to the good old alma mater. I'm glad I don't…read morenecessarily look a lot older than the students, or else I'll be that one person on campus sitting around, creepily staring at young people. The Spoke is a hub of student activity and a good place to just sit, eat a bagelwich, and contemplate on where the time has gone. It never even occurred to me other universities don't have a place like this. You've got a bar/café hybrid smack dab in the student centre with comfy sofas and giant TVs. No wonder this place was always packed. You can hype yourself up with espresso and then mellow out with a pint. Most importantly, the food is actually stellar! My favourite was the CLT (Chicken Lettuce Tomato) wrap. Pair it with a Caesar salad and I was a happy, happy, broke student. I'd also reward myself with poutine after a particularly difficult exam. In hindsight, it was crappy poutine with shredded cheese and not a single curd but damn it was tasty! Especially with a liberal sprinkling from the free bottle of Cajun spice. The café side serves typical on-the-go breakfast food. The most well-known are the bagelwiches, which will rock your world. If you think that's healthier than the bar food, think again. These things were a greasy, glorious mess. Turkey club on mushroom and swiss bagel may make you think you're making healthy decisions, but you're just fooling yourself. It's okay, you won't regret it. Grab an iced coffee with it and it's practically a perfect lunch. If you're on campus for any reason, this is the place to be. Come here to relax and east some good food at a good price. If you're a student, you can stare outside the window at Weldon and weigh the options of drinking another beer or studying. But let's be real, is that even really a choice? (9/100) - 2017

Every Western student knows this place or at least has heard of it. It's a definite must experience…read morefor every student (and everyone - good food is meant to be shared!). As soon as you walk in, you're faced with the cafe where you'll find lighter foods like cookies, brownies, bagelwiches, froyo, great coffee, and their irresistible bagels and cream cheese varieties, etc. Move further in and you'll find the main kitchen that serves heavier food - burgers, wraps, burritos, nachos, and fries, etc. There's also a full bar at the back - for studying, relaxing, catching up, and having fun. I've tried quite a few things on their menu including their famous CLTs (chicken, lettuce, tomatoes - they're famous for a reason - truly delicious), the burritos - super stuffed and packed with flavour, their deep fried pickles (unfortunately, I dont see them anymore on their menu), their fries, nachos, bagels, and coffee. The Spoke also has monthly specials served at the cafe or the main kitchen so look out for the posters. I've had a veggie burger and butter chicken tacos in the past - but they're only there for a month so get them when you see them! The Spoke has quality food and the atmosphere is very relaxed. They have weekly events events like Monday Open Mic, Tuesday karaoke, Wednesdays with Rick McGhie, Thursday coffee houses, and wired Fridays with the campus radio station - CHRW. They also host special events fom time to time. So no matter when you go, it's always going to be a good time.

If I could give a zero I would…read more When I ordered chicken online it gives me three options. 1) All dark meat, 2) mixed with both dark and white and 3) all white meat. I always order mixed with expectation it will be mixed (as advertised) but lately this store every time I do this only will send dark meat only. So I called to make sure that wasn't going to happen again and I was told that if I wanted any white meat I was going to have to pay extra. I told them that I wanted mix meat as I ordered and I was told that there was no way I could have mixed meat it was either all dark or I'd have to pay extra for all white. As a customer it's my opinion that this store is not honoring the mixed meat selection because it's cheaper just to provide all dark. Either way this ended up being in an argument with the store. I asked them to cancel my order and they didn't so it promptly went in the trash when it showed up because would you eat chicken from a place that you were arguing with? I'll be blunt with you I'm not eating any food prepared by somebody who I've been in a heated argument with. Anyway I don't know if this is just a cheap way of them saving money or if the employees are not educated on what options are available to us customers ordering, but this has been an ongoing issue and I no longer want to deal with this company. I've tried to resolve it repeatedly in person and on the phone and no one has been willing to help. I even spoke to a manager once and was told that mixed meat was just all dark meat which I asked them to explain to me since there was a dark meat only option too what a mixed box meant. I've also have sent an email through your customer service options on your website and gotten no response either. Bottom line I have been trying to reach a customer service agent from Church's Chicken head office and I'm told there's no phone number for me to reach out to so this is my only option apparently.

Despite us unable to get a seat, we ordered takeout. The lady helping us was so sweet and considerate, probably apologetic to the fact that both times I have tried coming to dine-in have failed haha. The food took around 40 minutes to finish making and I was absolutely wow'd. First off, the portions are amazing and especially at their price - phenomenal. First thing we ordered were the chicken jhol momos and needless to say that these are the best momos I've had. They were so flavourful and such a good balance between umami, salty, spicy, and a bit of sour. The Hakka house chow mein had all the classic flavours that we know and love. One thing I'll say about this, to be nit picky, is that I wish there were slightly more protein - but no complaints otherwise. The app platter was a great way to try all the popular non veg apps and the lollipop chicken by far was the fan favourite. Juicy, flavourful, tender - it was honestly so good we could eat just that. The Manchurian chicken was also amazing, slightly spicy and super flavourful. Last but not least, the mango lassi was your standard one: sweet and slightly tart. Overall, this place has become one of my new favourite places to get takeout from (and I have leftovers for days!). I definitely would like to sit in and dine one day.
