There is an ordering and toppings counter and a small kitchen setup. There are only four tables along with stool seating, and our group easily occupied most space for a quick lunch. Sweet potato noodle soup arrived hot packed with spicy & vinegar flavour, topped with crunchy bean sprouts, peanut, pickled radish and cilantro, along with minced pork ($13.99). The glossy potato noodles were especially smooth and bouncy. It took a little while for our food to arrive as everything was made fresh. Pork wonton soup also arrived in a huge bowl with about 10 wontons ($10.99) which we quickly gobbled up. The tastes were authentic. The menu was reasonably affordable and they even have cash discount. Located in downtown London, there is no street parking beside the restaurant but we were able to find paid hourly street parking a block away. The restaurant is tiny with some supplies piled to one side but you can look past the book based on the cover based on the kind hospitality. They offered free bottled water that we helped ourselves to. Skip it or hit it? This spot is worth a visit if you like affordable noodles as locals who ate there know.

Yet the food is authentic and spicy. Portion size was definitely enough. Both dishes hit the spot. We got a non spicy chicken dish with vege that my kid gobbled up. I for a braised beef dish with wonderfully spicy flavor - i got the spicy just below "chengdu" which was pleasant. It was like 75% fully occupied at 1:30pm all with Asian clientele, a good sign. We ordered a fu qi fei pian, mapo tofu, and a beef shank pancake/wrap. The fu qi fei pian was utterly delicious!!! It wasn't overly oily nor spicy, but the perfect balance of spicy, sour, and sweet. The peanuts were delightfully crunchy, and the tripe and beef shank were very well done as well. Definitely our favourite dish. The beef wrap came in a lovely flaky crust... but the entire execution was spoiled by the fact that the wrap came overloaded with excessive hoisin sauce. The beef taste was therefore completely masked, and all I could taste was the sickening sweetness and saltiness of the sauce. What a shame! Finally, the mapo tofu. At first taste, it was very good and tasty. However, you will notice immediately that it is quite salty! Okay to have with rice, but could definitely use some more tofu to balance out the extreme saltiness. The dishes are well done, but a bit too overpowering in flavour. But like many places with a succinct menu, they do what they offer well. Clearly homemade dough. I preferred the dumplings (steamed...small) to the potstickers (fried...large), and the soup over the noodles but all were good. The three sauces offered weren't soy based and varied in spice level from mild to a bit of a kick. Good value for money. I received 2 soups, noodles, 10 potstickers and 18 dumplings for $40. When I arrived the owner added another 10 potstickers and 10 dumplings to my bag for free as they were about to close. I froze the extras because they are very filling! Definitely give this place a try.
