I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised! The food tasted great and as ordered, and their service was very good. Overall, I'd eat here again as I found it better than OPH (Original Pancake House) and their staff was much more friendly and accurate on the order. This place is awesome. It runs like a well oiled machine. The waitstaff rocks, I love it when people remember your order!!! And yes I'm boring I eat the same thing all the time the chili reano omlette which has the best sauce if you like ranchero sauce!!! My first foray to the pancake house was on a Sunday morning- a single - and I had to wait at least 20min. OK, on a Sunday morning, the wait was no surprise. The coffee was barely warm, and you are charged over $2. for your coffee. The "Swedish Style" pancakes, really an egg- batter crepe and passable, were served with a small scoop of purple horror that was supposed to be comprised of lingonberries and butter. It had no flavor, and a disturbing artificial color . I am certain that , whatever this horrific melange is comprised of, it would survive a nuclear holocaust. My side of sausage links was shriveled and lukewarm, betraying a long wait at the starting gate.It was extremely loud in the restaurant and the service was just OK...not a happy customer. read more

Our 1st time here and everything was on point! Fluffy biscuits and gravy.... Eggs benedict with suttle hollidaise sauce...and the French toast was delish! I'm not a big coffee drinker but it was good too. We will def come again. read more

There sure are a lot of these basic breakfast diners. As I said about the others, if that's the kind of thing you like, you'll probably like Ye Olde. A big notch above the generic places like Shari's and Denny's and IHOP. If you're looking for something special keep on looking. read more

A so-so breakfast restaurant with mediocre service. This was our first time at this restaurant, so we may have just been unlucky coming in right as everyone was getting ready to take a break or shift change, I'm not sure. However, the prices were slightly high (about $9-11 a plate for a couple of eggs, bacon/sausage, and 2 pancakes). I read previous reviews raving about the coffee, but honestly, I thought it tasted like half-a-day-old gas station coffee- it was awful. I was hoping as it is a self-proclaimed "pancake house" that they would have a variety of syrups, unique pancake flavors or some sort of worldly twist on a breakfast joint. But not so much. There were a few classics (crepes, pancakes with bananas, chicken fried steak, omelets, etc.), but overall, the menu lacked options. The service was not so great. We got seated fairly quickly, but it was clear that we were not a priority and the waitress had (I think) far too many tables to contend with. We waited a long time to have our order taken, the food came quickly, but once our food was brought, we didn't see our waitress again. We didn't get drink refills and we waited for a good 10 minutes before giving up on asking for a 'To Go' box. (The table right next to us also wanted a to go box, and obviously waited as long as we did before finally asking a bus boy who appeared to grumble, only to come back with the tiniest, most pitiful box that I have ever seen. Seriously. I don't know if they even fit an egg and half a pancake in that thing.) The food itself was OK. The pancakes were well... pancakes. Nothing special. Eggs were a little undercooked for my taste. And the sausage was greasy and bland. I also had the Chicken Fried Steak, which was actually very good. The gravy was wonderful. Overall, I doubt that we will be going back to Ye Old Pancake House. read more

Oh how I wish this place was better.. Went in on a Sunday morning and it was WAY too busy for me too wait with a hungry 3 year old. There were about 30+ people packed into the entry and a 45 min wait. I took the mass of people (and that its practically across the street from my house) to mean that it would be worth a return visit on another day. I was wrong.. The staff was supper nice and prompt but the food was awful. We ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy, potato pancakes, chicken fried steak, and a kids pancake and eggs. Thy gravy had no flavor and I mean none with very little sausage. The potato pancakes had a good crunch but other then that super bland and for some reason came with sour cream and strawberry apple sauce...? The only good thing was the pancakes we got for my daughter. They were great and the plate Came with 3 cakes so i ended up shearing with her. I'm a little picky but my gosh.. Sadly we won't be back, the 15 extra mins it takes to get to The Original Pancake House it WELL worth it. read more

I'm sorry to say that the managers daughter asked me to move my vehicle that was parked in a handicap spot in front of the restaurant. For the most part I'm always in a wheelchair but if I can get close enough to the door I can walk in. The reason she wanted me to move is that there is a stripped off spot next to the handicap spot that her mother likes to park in. I was pulling a small trailer behind our suburban and this gave me the perfect place to park. I try to walk in because a wheelchair takes up so much room between the booths. Not only did she start in on me that when her mother showed up, she gave me a very disgusting look. Is just sad that it's so important to them that the handicap spots mean nothing to them. We drive over an hour to get to Eugene and always have breakfast there. The waitstaff is absolutely incredible to us. I stopped in here the other day thinking that it would be a perfect spot to take my daughter to breakfast. I remember coming here when I was younger and the owner at the time and service was incredible. They always made customers feel like home. This week I stopped in and was EXTREMELY disappointed. We walked in and were not greeted with a smile. The hostess seems rather annoyed. Her hair was a mess and as someone who has worked in the food industry for over 10 years, it made me question the quality of the food we were about to eat. We were then rudely seated by a tall overweight man who threw our menus on the table and said here. Seriously? If my child was not with me, I would have left and said a few choice words. So we sat down and the waitress was nice and food was prompt, though I give extreme credit to the hard working cooks preparing my meal. The food was terrible. Pancakes were dry, the water tasted of pure metal, my waffle was decent, but I have had better. Our hash browns were undercooked and raw. The sausages were okay. I will never step foot in this establishment and will tell everyone I know as well. If you are not 60 years old and white, don't expect great service. Ironic since they employ 90 percent Latino workers. read more
