4.5 would be most accurate. I always have a great time at Yard house. Friends and I were craving some 'brewskies' and there's no better place, that I know of, which such a large selection. I had been craving a burger after a long shift and had always wanted to try this place. I was in a party of two on a Monday evening and was seated immediately. The tvs are playing sports games and they were a little loud but the bar/restaurant is very spacious and impressive. Our waiter, Carlos, was quick to greet us and took our drink order. We got Hawaiin mules which were made perfectly, and brought out right away. The appetizers we got were truffle fries and the korean bbq. The fries were a tad small but it was an appetizer, while the korean beef was large and in charge. It was served with rice and carrots/radish/cucumber brined in a delish vinegar. The flavors were impeccable, perfectly cooked and served hot. Our main entrees were fantastic. I ordered the pork & bacon burger off of Carlos' recommendation which was so good and pairs perfectly with the blueberry jam on the bun. The sweet potato fries are soft with a crispy outside. My boyfriend ordered a pepperoni pizza which seemed to brick over and the crust was very similar to new york style- very flavorful for a sport's bar pizza! Lastly, we finished with a "brookie" which is the cookie & brownie served with ice cream. It was beyond decadent and rich. We had to get to-go boxes for the entrees and I can't wait to eat them tomorrow! This is a must-try if you're in the area and want a lunch or dinner place that is certain to hit all the marks. Yard House never lets me down. Food is really good and their wide selection of beers and cocktails makes this place great. Definitely my go to spot when out at the Springfield mall. This time I went, I finally gave in and ordered the chicken nachos. The reason this is such a big deal, is because I see them all the time being ordered but just never do it because they are massive. I never understood why they didn't make them in a smaller portion. Anyway...man o man!!! These nachos were amazing!! Lots of great toppings, plenty of chicken and gooey cheese. A nice heaping of guacamole right in the middle, and a red sauce that gives them a nice kick. If you are ever on the fence about the chicken nachos, just do it. As long as you have at least 1-2 others that can assist you'll be fine. In addition to this momentous occasion of having the nachos for the first time, our service was great with our bartenders. I love Yard House as a whole, but this location is very underwhelming. We went on Saturday night which I expect to be busy, especially during football season. The wait was about 45 minutes, but upon entering, I am not sure why; it wasn't that crowded. Service: everything was slow. We ordered 2 cocktails and they took no less than 30 minutes to come out. Our waitress was nice, but she never came back for refills, to check in, nothing. Food: I am never one to send food back, but two dishes had to be sent back. My salmon was undercooked and one appetizer was cold. Oddly, we sat right by the kitchen. To top it all off, the consistency of Yard House that can always be counted on as far as food goes wasn't present. Everything was just ok or not good. Saturday afternoon it was a bit busy but their 30 minute wait ended up being only 10-15 minutes. We sat outside on the enclosed patio which was heated. That was very nice and it was less congested than the inside. I ordered the regular margarita and my mom ordered the pink (I think that's what it was called) margarita which came smoked table side. Beer was served ice cold. Things went downhill quickly from there. Ordered the Korean ribeye medium rare. Looked great when it came out but when I sliced into it the steak was cold and red in the center. The steak was too chewy and tough served rare to eat. Would have asked for it to be recooked and served the proper temperature, but we didn't see the waiter again until everyone else was done with their meals. When he did finally show with the tablet to pay the check, I brought the inedible steak (two bites missing) to his attention. He asked if I wanted to talk to the manager. For what at this point? Too late and too ambivalent to make it right. Also used to love the poke nachos here. Still good but about half the portion size they used to be before the pandemic. LOVE the Yardhouse. My wife and I always make it a point to stop in before a Detroit vs. Caps hockey game or anytime we are in the DC area. Parking is never an issue as we get a hotel room w/in walking distance of the Yardhouse & Capital One Arena. The atmosphere is always lively and fans of both teams frequently visit the yard house, but the comradery among all as shared lovers of hockey is palpable. The food is very good and the steaks always cooked perfectly to my taste. My only request would be that they get a selection of gluten free beer like Michelob Ultra Amber or Red Bridge, otherwise the selection of beers is impressive to say the least. The staff are always in good moods, pleasant and attentive. Very accomodating. This last time the manager was out & about, saw us taking selfies and offered to take one of us together. 4.5 Stars. I came here for my friend's birthday and the reservation system was hard as they only took reservations for parties of 10 or more and with those reservations there is a limited amount and therefore a waitlist. I would say that the appetizers are what I would recommend getting here. I got the poke nachos and they were amazing. They had a good amount of raw tuna and gave this sweet, salty, sour, umami taste. I seriously considered ordering another one after I finished. Then I ordered the spicy jambalaya with noodles and it was average. It wasn't spicy but it wasn't bad. Just very average. If I were to order again, I'd probably just order the poke nachos. When it came towards the end of the meal and we wanted to celebrate my friend's birthday, she got a small creme brulee cheesecake with a candle and happy birthday. It was very cute and tasted great. This was my first time eating at a Yard House and it's really elevated bar food. This location is spacious with vast outdoor seating. I love the outdoor space heaters which helps a lot with the cooler weather. Our server was sweet and did a fine job. The tablets on the table weren't the greatest. I think it was malfunction. Our table had three IT guys and none of them can figure out how to use it to order or pay in the end. Good wise, there were some pretty good dishes. I love the poke nachos. They use wonton as the nacho chips and it's lighter and crispier compare to regular nacho chips. The tuna was generous, the avocado was fresh, and the sauce was zesty. I loved it. Another wonderful dish was the lobster garlic noodles. The noodles were buttery and I am amazed at how much seafood came in that dish for that price point (currently selling at $25). It came with a generous amount of lobster and shrimp and best thing, they were cooked perfectly. I personally love spinach and shiitake mushrooms so that dish easily stole my heart. My husband's Korean fries were also good. They were spicy, sweet, sticky, and savory with a kick of umami which I would except from Asian foods. Being an Asian inspired side, it was delicious. Their kimchi was also descent. I did not like the Korean cheesesteak. The meat was thick, tough, and not very flavorful. I also didn't like their dragonfruit lemonade. It literally tasted like fruit punch kool aid for all us 90s kids. We are in currently in World Cup mode so of course, all the televisions here had the game playing. I'm struggling on this one. We were So excited to eat here--we even went to another local restaurant to get a drink and appetizer to hold us over until we could finally get past Yard House's insanely long wait. I was Stoked to find a place that catered so much towards both meat eaters and vegans, but what really troubled me was, once I took a closer look at the menu, I honestly didn't know what vegans could really eat. There's so many items that deceptively look vegan, but then as I went onto the websites allergens menu, everything had eggs. I ordered the beyond burger, which came with vegan Mozzarella. The way this appeared on the menu, I was SURE this was vegan. However, the bun had eggs. The same bun that's appear on all the sandwiches with the gardein chicken. My server said the gluten free bun was vegan, along with the "vegan salad" to avoid cross contamination. I really hope she was right. What I will say about the burger--the Mozzarella was not good.... It made the bun soggy and it didn't have a good flavor. I would sub it out for a vegan cheese that fits a traditional burger, like a cheddar, pepper jack, etc. also, the burger was incredibly dry. Like any other burger, it desperately needs a sauce! As the highlights, I will say our server, Daisy, was really good and did seem knowledgeable about the menu. Based on her feedback, it seems the "Korean" also can't be made vegan, no matter what you do. My husband also relayed enjoying his pepperoni pizza and liked having the option of so many beers. My friend and I were able to be seated right away. Parking can be annoying because this restaurant is located at the mall but it is doable. Service here was great. Our sever was attentive to my friend and I. I have nothing bad to say about the service here. The food here was absolutely delicious!!! For the appetizer we ordered the poke nachos and it did not disappoint! It was seriously so flavorful and delicious. For my entree I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup and my friend ordered the pepper jack burger with a side of fries. The fries were alright to be honest, but the burger was so juicy. This has been our go to Happy hour spot for years cause the great selection of beers and food. However, the past 2 times we've been here the service has been terrible from the front staff to the waiter. Recently, we were there and the server REFUSED to give us a tablet to order from after asking several times for it. There was no reason to not let us use it, we've always used one whenever we've been there cause it's more efficient and we can pay whenever. We waited for a while to get an order in as well and the server avoided us and gave no explanation why she couldn't give us a tablet. Ok, I went into the restaurant and ordered wings and onion rings, the receptionist told me it would take 30 minutes for my order. I said ok. I wait, 30 minutes pass, and I return to the store after walking around the mall to kill time. Just as I enter, the receptionist is bringing up some orders. Togo now, it turns out one of the orders was my order. Still, I have to stand there for five additional minutes while 6, yes 6, workers help one girl, then when one of the receptionist ask if I need help, I said yes, picking up my order Togo. She tells me she will help you and points to another young lady. Hence, I waited some more, and the receptionist who took my order finally handed me my meal, so I got it and headed out the door. Once in the car, we drove off! I started to eat my food, and sure enough, the onion rings were cold, dry, and old. The wings I ordered were a little warmer, but still old. Needless to say, I'm pissed cause we can't turn around and return! Yard House should be ashamed of its store and the way they conducted business with me. We tried the loaded chicken nachos, but they were just average, I've had better. I wouldn't recommend the calamari, it was very basic and lacked flavor. It's also fried hard. The firecracker shrimp was really tasty. It's served on a crispy rice cake which was a nice addition to the tempura shrimp. The stacked turkey club was really good, just a basic club sandwich, but really tasty. The lemon pepper wings were also good and they're plentiful. I've been to Yard House many times but finally got around to writing this review. I got the Mediterranean salmon this time around and it was surprisingly delicious and filling. A tad under-seasoned I would say but it was still very good. In the past I've had the pizza. Tacos. Sandwiches. Burgers. The only dish that I haven't enjoyed so far was the orange chicken. It had an aftertaste that I didn't care for. The ambiance is very nice. Lots of televisions so you can find your game. And you can of course try and request to have the channel changed. The service can be hit or miss. Some waiters/waitresses will refill my glass without me asking. And other times we won't see them for a while. I try and be as understanding as possible since they get a lot of hunger shoppers from the mall. Would probably recommend looking at the menu before going. Overall a great place with great food.
