I would have given 5 stars, but their menu is on the pricey side. Although they do have pricey food, the food does taste great! But not that great to have almost a $20 check for 2 tacos with rice and beans on the side... But anyways, they have lots to choose from on their menu. I love how their menu is so unique, in choices and in flavors. Now some items, like the mac & cheese are on their menu, BUT it's not what you know mac & cheese as. It's so much better. It's more classy and on the higher end, and does taste delicious! I suggest exploring the menu and trying new different things, bc you'll probably end up liking it. I also advise you to go during happy hour. They have really good happy hour deals, food & alcohol wise, so try them out. It must have been a few years since I've been to a Yard House. I was a bit perplexed that you actually couldn't order a full yard of beer any longer. I suppose patrons are now relegated to ordering just a 1/2 yard at a time ;) This massive restaurant has always been a great place to get good food with a excellent selection of brews on tap. Fortunately not much has changed in these regards at the Yard House. The food menu seems to have been overhauled along with the beer menu. Now both menus do not seem as daunting of a task when you're trying to select you meal. This allows you to take in all of the sights (TVs, people watching) and sounds (still loud as eff) of the Yard House. There are times when the service can be spotty but in this particular visit the service was good. Food was delivered quickly and correctly. The server checked in just frequently enough to keep us pleased. Overall a good experience at the Oxnard Yard House. Parking can be challenging in this unique shopping center though so be prepared to walk from the back lot. Looking forward to future date nights here with a movie at near by Pacific Theaters. read more

If I could give no stars I would. Sad way too long for food to arrive once ordered. Had to beg for refills of tea. Decided to order dessert even though I should have known better. Server took forever heard me wrong and wanted to bring us cheesecake brûlée blah. Asked to remove from bill and she removed it added Brookie. No that is what I wanted the first time and waited forever for the dessert. Said no to second dessert and just left. Tried this place here in Oxnard. Guess they are a chain and just suck everywhere. Generally speaking, YH has average-ish service on any given night. The late hours of operation on a Sunday was the deciding factor of how we ended up here. My wife and I were surprised to get the best service we've had here. The server was constantly checking in, not enough to hover or be annoying. He also made sure that our food and drinks came out in a timely manner and that we had what we needed. Lots of beer choices, which is always nice. Food is decent. The thing for us that set it apart was our server Cara. As servers go, she is a 10 out of 10. She was helpful, polite, funny and very good at her job. Finding a good server at a restaurant these days is about a 50-50 proposition. I went on a Saturday night, the wait wasn't long. The waitress (I think her name is Megan) was suuuuuuuuuper nice and attentive with us. I seriously loved her. An awesome girl, she deserves a raise for sure!!!! The manager (who's name I forgot) was super cool too and also gave us some garlic chips. And he was very welcoming!! Megan made me feel so comfortable and cared for, literally the best customer service I've ever experienced at a restaurant or anywhere. She let her manager know that we were new around here (maybe we looked like it ) but we were really from Oxnard celebrating our friend. Either way we found it funny lol. Poor management. Staff is not properly trained to provide optimum service and correctly prepared food. It's the simple considerations of focusing on the details that make for a mediocre experience to an exceptional experience. A mediocre restaurant to a exceptional restaurant. I tried reaching out to management via email but received no response. Don't waste your time and money at this restaurant because there are many other places that provide a much better experience. I've always liked coming here. The food is good and they have a great selection of drinks. I got the pretzel in honor of Oktoberfest. It was larger than my head it was so huge! A little crusty on the outside, soft on the inside and not too much salt. The mushroom garlic noodles were really delicious. Even though it was a small bites dish, there was a good portion. I was disappointed in the buffalo cauliflower. I don't recall it having so much batter before. I ate just a few pieces and was done. It was too heavy. We usually cruise to Yard House for Happy Hour (M-F 3pm-6pm) because you get a great deal for food. We avoid going on Fridays and the weekends because it is so packed and very loud. The space is very large and the beer variety is plentiful but man do they like to blare the music. It's always quieter sitting outside and heaters are available. The service is pretty good and a manager is usually walking around to make sure everyone's being taken care of. We usually order multiple items to share family style. Items we like to order: chicken nachos, chicken strips, sliders (with truffle fries), chicken lettuce wraps, poke nachos (for my husband)... the happy hour menu just has so many great options to choose from. She is the BEST!! She had Brandon the bar manager make us serveral home made sauces for our calamari! We fell in love with his home made cocktail sauce.. my two boys polished off a whole pepperoni pizza and I almost licked the plate for the Poke nachos.. that's right poke tuna and avocado, jalapeño tossed in a seasoned sauce over fried wontons chips.. I just left and probably will not go back to this restaurant based on my experience. The hostess gave me a quote of 5-15 minutes (expected bc Yardhouse is busy) and we were sat promptly. The first woman that greeted us was nice and funny, she took our drink orders, then at the end of our drink order she had said we were most likely going to get a new server. so about 10 minutes later we finally did, by that time our drinks were not out. Our new server came and asked if we wanted to order food and mentioned nothing about the drinks until i had to ask about them. Once I did, she said they'd be out shortly, 15 minutes later we FINALLY got our first round of drinks. I get my food and my server is no where to be found around but she's at her computer as she was the majority of the time instead of checking on us. So I ask the bar for hot sauce because she didn't check on us. After i'm finished with my food she comes and she was nice enough to box it i'll give her that. but then she dropped off the check before my two guests were done with their beers and didn't ask us if we were ready at all, that was rude. So I told her "im sorry were not ready for the check, i wanted another old fashion at 10PM when it's happy hour" so she comes back at 10:05PM and asks if i still wanted it, and i said, yes surprised i didn't have it bc i asked. SO THEN she comes back right after with a girl saying she was going on a 30 minute dinner, this is our THIRD server by now. You can see the bar from the high tops and basically the whole restaurant so I could see my old fashion sitting at the bar waiting to be ran, after the drink sat their for 12 minutes someone finally ran the drink. I told her i didn't want it anymore and if a manager could take it off. So, the manager comes with the water downed drink and apologizes for the wait and asked if i still wanted it on the house. I thanked her for her apology and said no thank you i've watched it sit at the bar for over 10 minutes. Then, the third server that's breaking our other server is no where to be found either. It was 10:35PM by the time i got my check, and it THAT STILL HAD THE DRINK I SENT BACK ON THERE. so we waited another ten minutes to get that off. I'm just appalled at this place. it was ridiculous, all the managers did was walk around on high horses not asking how their guests are. I hated my visit so much. read more

Been here numerous times. Staff has always been very friendly and knowledgeable. While the menu can seem large and daunting, I usually stick to appetizers and a veggie burger, which is actually better than I expected. The only real downside to the place is that it gets so crowded that you might have to wait up to 45 mins to get a table. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was good. I read a lot of the reviews and was a little worried. I had the Parmesan Crusted Pork Loin with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The service was great, and they've got a pretty good selection of beers. The one thing I'll say about the beer is give me a full glass. I saw something gross at Yard House today; the bartender threw a huge chunk of ice in the bar sink, then proceeded to use that same ice in 6 drinks!!! The bacteria that are in that sink, YUCK! We had the perfect seat inside to watch game 5 of the NBA finals. Our server was awesome. I loved how excited she got when I ordered the cheese curds lol. I've always enjoyed Yardhouse's cuisine but last night's food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the cheese curds and chicken wings -Korean flavored- to start off. I also picked an amber Oktoberfest beer to start drinking with. Food came out pretty quickly and HOT ! We had like 4 different dipping sauces and every single one of them were fire! The wings were cooked to perfection and crispy AF. A nice balance of sweet and smoky spicy. Had me sniffling a little bit and licking my fingers after every bite. The cheese curds were crispy and had just the right amount of cheese pull. The 2 sauces they serve it with are very different from each other but both oh so good! And then me and my date decided to just share the lobster bisque angolotti (which is basically ravioli) . Holy cow- the sauce on this pasta was AMAZING! So flavorful.... I'm drooling just thinking about it all. Like a really good dream that I wished never ended. I ended up ordering a flight of beers and when I go back- I'll be ordering a full glass of the Karl Strauss Red Trolley and/or Brown Nectar Butter Ale. So yummy! Came here for Happy Hour on a Thursday at around 4pm. It was not too crowded! But I got the Caribbean breeze cocktail and it tasted like an alcoholic Caprisun! I had a rather interesting experience the last time I came here and I know it's a paranormal experience because I come her a lot, for the same stuff, happy hour. I'm not a drinker so I come to happy hour for the food. Before you hear my weird experience which isn't really much of a story, if you haven't tried their chicken nachos with fries instead of the nachos, you need to try that combo. I also like to ask for the bean on the side instead of on top because I feel like the beans cool down my food faster and the sour cream and guac is already doing that. So my second favorite dish apart from the frachos is the spinach cheese dip. I have ordered this many a times from many different Yard Houses and I have never had it come to me the way it did. Usually the chips are fanned around the dip, which is in the middle of tray but this time it was the dip on side side and the chips just tossed on the other, not beautiful fanning that night. I thought something was off when I first saw the appearance of the dish. Then I noticed that the dip was really hard on the top like as if they reheated this in the microwave or something. I would also like to inject at this point that I have recently been watching a lot of kitchen nightmares and like Ramsay says, "They don't complain, they just don't come back!" I didn't complain, even when I found a piece of red cabbage in between the chips as I was half way through it. Nothing we ordered that night had any red cabbage in it. I didn't complain and I did give tip that night. Also I'm still coming back, I love Yard House and their happy hour food still and some messy chips with red cabbage isn't going to ward me away but it was a disappointing experience. read more

Yard house is my usual place to go. And I always order the same things a California roll and and a Baja fish taco. Which is exactly what I ordered today and asked for a side of lemon and a wasabi soy sauce. Which I didn't receive either. Not only that the California roll had the least amount of crab I've ever received mind you I've order this dish well over 30 times And it was basically JUST cucumbers and Serrano peppers. the most minimum amount of tomatoes and crab the rice was so crispy you can barely bite into it. I went to lunch with my husband and son last week. It wasn't that busy on that day. The server was nice. Perhaps new to his position. My husband and I ordered the fish and chips. The one thing that I'm still puzzled about is the bill.. the server asked my husband if he'd like to split the bill? I got a giggle out of this.
