Having been a longtime customer of yard house I was surprised at the yelp rating as we just moved in from Austin I was expecting a long wait but pleasantly surprised that we got seated right away. I've read that many of the reviews say the service is atrocious so I was wondering why. The wife observed the manager flirting with 1 of the female staff rather than rounding and doing his job. The staff not working with each other to provide the level of customer service that's expected. We observed another manager gather all the employees for an odd meeting pulling what limited staff they had from taking care of the customers. Our drinks didn't get refilled, requests for small items not done. Nobody asked how we were doing. Looking around the bad service just didn't extend to us. it was store wide. The only 2 bartenders would rather chat and not attend the customers, the wait staff would rather socialize with each other and the managers. The only saving grace was the kitchen made great food but the lack of service overshadowed the food. In the end after we paid our bill the manager was sitting in the front entrance still flirting with the female wait staff and lounging on the inside bench while the 4 greeters socialized with each other. very disappointed with our experience. .... The yard house at the collection is pretty awesome. I have yet to have a bad meal there. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is due to the wait times on the weekend and it's not really a place you want to go to to have a good conversation as it's pretty loud up in there. The food is great and they have a wide selection of beer and alcohol in general. I'd definitely recommend to hit this spot up if not lazy dog at the collection. read more

Party of 12 for my sons birthday, he loves the menu because he is vegan. It not very busy at all. Service super slow. Onion ring tower, cold. Fried cheese burned, so we sent back... 20 minutes later we got new ones. When we did finally order entrees, it took a longer then normal timeframe...but whatever. Food portions were not great considering how pricey. The total time it took to get our checks after 3 reprints, over an hour!!!! We saw the manager walk by several times, no eye contact, didn't bother to check and see how we were doing, no attempts at all! Our server was okay, her name is Brooke. She tried, but in all the experience was very disappointing. Apparently happy hour is their strong suit, definitely not groups!! We didn't expect to be treated like royalty or anything, lol. I friggin love the atmosphere in this place not to mention the food. I have been several times now and every time has been great. We took the outlaws last weekend, mid Saturday afternoon and it was busy but we sat at the bar. All the staff were super friendly after drinks were ordered we dived in to the menu. Mrs O had the Shrimp Seviche, I had the wonderful Orange Peel Chicken on Jasmine Rice, the outlaws had the Chicken Strips and Salads. Great big TV's, lots of space, 300 beers, great well scotch and a knock out sound system. Fab! read more

After we spent the morning at target optical and I asked Samantha at target about the yard house she said its great there ..so yea Friday lunch-and-a-beer. it was a pretty busy lunch crowd always a good sign we got seated right away though. The place is pretty modern inside, crazy cool huge drink menu; tons of beers on rows of taps also wines, cocktails and sake. It was a bit chilly but the patio looks like it will be a cool place on future visits. We each got a half yard of my favorite beer Coronado's Mermaid Red which is hard to find. Matt was our server he was on point. The manager stopped by brought us our beers and came back by to see how everything was. First we had an appetizer AHI POKE BOWL marinated raw ahi, stacked on, in and under crispy wontons with avocado, carrots, daikon radish, macadamia nuts I had the TURKEY & BACON MELT 2.0 I had them swap out the Swiss for pepper jack & fontina cheese, roasted romas, crushed avocado, pickled jalapeño spread with a side of 1000 and fries Elizabeth had their SURF & TURF BURGER It had a med rare patty with lobster meat, grilled asparagus, arugula, swiss, tomato béarnaise, and fries Being part of a restaurant conglomerate including Olive garden, Longhorn Steak house,Seasons 52,Bahama Breeze Island Grille, Eddie V's Prime Seafood they have a pretty smooth operation. definitely my new beer bar. read more

The staff handled our group of 30 on the patio quite well, considering we were a group of 30 with people arriving at various times. I am happiest on their quieter patio, and they managed to get the early birds' orders in before 6 pm Happy Hour cutoff, with me promising to finish my glass of Pinot Noir before my pretty and delicious Hawaiian Sunset drink arrived (their rule, not mine). As my friend said, that would not be a problem for me, and there was enough of a lag before the second round arrived to make that happen. I branched out food wise and tried the tasty sizhuan calimari, and the husband tried the vampire taco, which was okay. We still enjoyed the Brussel Sprouts. There are enough menu and drink choices to satisfy everyone, and the best part was they brought separate checks for all of us, a great feat for a group our size. Thanks Kelsey and Mark! So, what IS YARD HOUSE?!? Is it for wizardry football player development? New option for bedazzling your garden or pool? How about avant-garde academic success techniques? None of that! It's a sports bar/restaurant named after a special British DRINKING GLASS that's 3 feet long... A-ha! Oxnard's 2nd sports bar has arrived and it's hustling and bustling at The Collection! BUSY here, that's for sure. Oxnard's eateries usually have wait times, at the most, around 15 minutes, BUT NOT HERE! They have this "call to put your name on the wait list" thing if you phone within the hour, yet despite our timely arrival on a Friday, we still stood around an additional 30 minutes before we sat down. So 1 hr. wait time, new record for Oxnard! Inside is vast and the big booth we sat in fit 6 comfortably, probably could add 2 more butts without issue. WHOLE BUNCHA TV SCREENS!!! As a sports fan, it's hard not to be distracted! Erik was our server, friendly and attentive during our stay. We sampled some menu items... *TRUFFLE FRIES: The truffle oil adds a different dimension to the standard french fry, then we added garlic to the mix... OooWHEE! HARD to resist eating these bad boys! *FRIED CALAMARI: Well prepared calamari. Came with unchewy tentacles and "zeros" that had a nice crunchy batter. Unfortunately, this arrived on the cold side :( *10oz. PEPPER CRUSTED FILET: Prepared just the way I wanted it, medium rare. Tender hunk of meat that tasted delicious! My daughter was with us, and she said it's all the rave among her friends, so I thought, let's give them a try. Found down at my new favorite mall area, The Collection in Oxnard, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the Yard House. Everything about this place is amazing....... the food selection, the most amazing beer and ale selection I have EVER seen.... and I'm not at all into that stuff.......but it was such an impressive listing (several huge pages of it) that I was almost tempted to try something. The menu selection for food, too, was impressive, as well. I'm not gonna lie...... this is not a place for dieters....... it just isn't..... but when you see what they have to offer, you won't care. Okay, so here's a list of everything we sampled........ DEVILED EGGS - topped with spicy tomato sauce, sweet chili sauce & minced chives. This was very tasty with a hint of horseradish..... or maybe it was the chili sauce...... interesting with the tomato sauce. Quite good !! SPICY TUNA ROLL - seared rare ahi, avocado, edamame, cucumber with wasabi soy sauce. I didn't taste this.... my daughter ordered and loved it. Looked great. GREEK SALAD - field greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives, toasted pita, feta cheese, mint and lemon vinaigrette. Nice presentation, but this didn't impress..... dressing too light and not really with any appreciable flavor. Won't order again. SHRIMP RICE BOWL - bok choy, baby corn, snap peas, carrots, peppers, broccoli, celery, shiitake, jasmine rice, and LOTS of shrimp (no skimping whatsoever !) Looked great, husband loved it..... I didn't taste it, however. (MAC + CHEESE)2 - chicken breast, applewood bacon, wild mushrooms, cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, campanelle pasta and truffle oil. One word: OY !!! No, another word........heavenly ! I didn't sample the bacon part (not a fan), but my hubby said it was fantastic, along with the entire dish. Everything, and I mean E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G, was super fresh. Portions were quite large, and none of us was able to finish ANY of what we got. Of course, we ordered a lot of things to try. All the dishes were beautifully presented, works of art.... and it was tough to dig into them, esp. the spicy tuna roll. It was so different, and I was just super WOW'd by that one. Check out my picture..... you'll see. The textures, colors, and flavors.......just amazing. The size of this place is super huge and even better, spacious feeling, too. I've seen many large places in my time, but one can still feel cramped in them, given the layout and amount of furniture occupying it......... but NOT HERE. Extremely spacious with TV's at every turn. This place is bustling with people at night, and if all the cushioned benches out in front are any indication, people can do some serious waiting at night. We went during the day, kind of on the later side for lunch, and we had no problem getting in, plus we ate outdoors. I can tell, though, this place is nothing to toy with at night. Wait times of 1-2 hours, I'm sure. I think that since it's still new, and since the mall is still adding many stores and places, it hasn't caught on to the extent it can......and will. That being said, I haven't been at night yet, so maybe it's already crazy busy. I want to come back here for my 60th birthday party. Yah, I said it.... and it's TRUE. SIXTY. Shit. Hadn't been out to dinner in a while. A very generous customer gave us a gift certificate for Christmas so we stepped out. At first things were a bit slow as we didn't have a reservation & decided to eat at the bar. Chris .. One of the managers, after seeing I wasn't thrilled (not upset .. We just wanted a drink while we were waiting) went way overboard making things right. We were so happy with him we decided to stay at the bar .. Had a great meal (highly recommend the rib eye) and had a great night In my business (Sound Doctor 911)we are highlybdriven by Yelp reviews .. And this place earned every bit of my rating. Worst restaurant in the collection area! The "bouncers" more like rent-a-cops notice you from a far and automatically assume that you are bad business really shows how they are. They can't tell a legal person from ones that are under age. My group and I were celebrating a MILITARY friends going away party. So, that's how these rent-a-cops and treat the ones that protect the country? Just to make it short, the bouncers just lost the company money from 10 customers that could of raised their funds on a busy Friday night. You know what Yard House? You keep those minimum wage rent-a-cops and have them keep destroying your reputation and income. I won't lose sleep over not getting in the Yard House because Lazy Dog is a whole lot better with better service. If you really want a better restaurant go to Lazy Dog. I came here for late lunch with a friend on a Wednesday afternoon. It was my first time at The Collection, and I was pleasantly surprised by all the stores and restaurants available! There was everything from a Whole Foods, REI, a movie theater, Target, etc. Nice location right off the 101 freeway. Since it was in between traditional lunch and dinner time, the place was mostly empty, and Happy Hour had just started at 3pm. I ordered the pepperoni and mushroom pizza ($7) off the happy hour menu, and my friend got the seared ahi sashimi ($8) and the chicken lettuce wraps ($7). My pizza was okay, nothing special, but I did like how it was full-sized as opposed to the mini personalized-sized pizza I was expecting. I couldn't finish the whole thing, so they boxed it up nicely for me to take home. My friend loved her lettuce wraps (her favorite dish at Yard House). It was nice coming at an odd time since it wasn't too loud to hold a conversation. Also, the large booths would accommodate larger parties of 4-6 comfortably. A huge plus is that there is plenty of parking and numerous options for entertainment and window-shopping in the area. read more

I've been here twice and that's enough for me. The first time I went was for happy hour with friends, it was to loud to even hear each other belch let alone carry on a conversation and the service was slow. The second time I went was for a Christmas Party, not a great place for a large group of people, we had to sit at separate tables and I felt like I was in a high chair. The food was so so and the service was slow. I think they are planning to have our Christmas party there again this year, I'll pass. The silver top bar is first come first serve seating, and they have ample parking around The Collection shopping center, allowing you to shop and eat!! I love a few things here: Mac and cheese squared: it's so good!! The cheese is creamy and delicious, bacon is candied and thick and the pasta is delicious!! Bahn Mi: their version of this Vietnamese sandwich is pretty delicious. I love the pulled pork and their pickled veggies are really yummy, not too sour. Have to give a huge shout out to the staff here. Needed to book space for 15 at the last minute for business and they came through in a major way. We got great tables on a busy night and they floated multiple servers to help ours to make sure we were well taken care of. This is a great place for groups. Their booths comfortably sit 8 people. It has an open, airy, fun atmosphere, and a variety of menu choices. Our orders consisted of salad, pasta, fish & chips, ahi sandwich, and of course at least one yard of ale. You can't go to the yard house & not get a yard! Overall it was a nice dining experience. The place was clean and service was good. However we had to send one beer back because the glass had schmutz in it. They happily replaced the drink though. Came with a group of friends after the gym and the place was packed! Lovell seated us and Dillon came by to say hello. Tried the California roll and ordered 3 more. Onion rings are delicious. My coffee was refilled without me asking. When my friend arrived, the restaurant was filling up with the lunch crowd. Dillon came right away when my friend arrived and took our orders. We ordered from the lunch menu: beef dip and salad, and chicken vegetable bowl with brown rice. My friend and I took our time catching up (2.5 hours) and Dillon was always around, filling our coffee cups with fresh coffee and attending to our needs without intruding. Five stars for Dillon. The food here is nothing extraordinary, but it isn't bad. Not only are they operating during COVID, but they're taking the proper precautions along the way. Tables are sanitized and clean, social distancing is enforced, and all staff wears masks. Negatives: the tasting flights are PRE-selected (boo!) Positives: they give each adult two free samples, so I was able to select a tasty German wheat. WTF? The "half-yard" which I was told held 2-pints, costs MORE than just buying 2 pints. We tried the deviled eggs, the jerk chicken wings, Korean pork-belly street tacos and bacon burger. Took the kids trick or treating at the collection for the Halloween thing they had and the yard house gave our free kids meal coupons. We had never gone there before so we decided to give it a try. It was VERY loud inside. I don't dig having to yell at my family just to have a conversation. My kids had to yell out their orders. That's annoying! The music is playing loudly so everyone is yelling at one another just to be able to converse. And it was 2pm, so it's not like we went there for a night out. Anywho, the food was good. I ordered the steak Cobb salad and it was really good. Daughter for a burger and it was fine. Son got the kids spaghetti and I could see in his face that he wasn't feeling it. He kept telling me to try a meatball and I didn't want it but he insisted. I literally spit it outta my mouth. He laughed and said "its gross huh!" It was the nastiest turkey meat I have ever eaten. Went for happy hour and had the poke nachos. Prob the best value from their happy hour food options especially if you're tired of their pizza. The Chile slices give it a nice kick. I think they are Serrano chiles. First time I went since the California reopening. A lot of the workers weren't wearing masks and of course the guests. They have a great happy hour schedule with well priced small plates and okay discounts on drinks. My favorite item is the mushroom lettuce wrap plate. Good variety of cider on tap, and make good recommendations for your drinks. Last time I indulged in the seasonal brown sugar old fashioned..very well made. Do expect it to take quite some time to get your drinks though, as the bartenders have a lot on their hands (unless you are sitting at the bar). Minus one star for the noise level - I can hardly hear myself or others talk in there without yelling. They have some new drinks that are amazing... Try them! Midnight sangria: pinot noir, hennessy vs cognac, midori melon, citrus agave, clover honey, blood orange, pomegranate seeds - SO TASTY and strong, excellent flavor combination. This review is regarding lunch. I love a good burger but my Black Truffle Cheeseburger was just okay. The quality of the meat was good, but for a higher end burger (in terms of cost) it missed the mark. As pictured in my photo it came with a pile of truffle/blue cheese and a couple of pickle slices on the side. What it lacked were additional toppings such as lettuce, tomato, red onion, and sauce to make it less dry. There was a small dab of the "tomato bacon jam" on the bottom bun, but this was not enough to add much flavor or moisture; I had to add ketchup which ruined the truffle effect. The accompanying crispy truffle fries, however, were delicious. We also had the coconut fried shrimp as a starter and it was tasty, with plump pieces of fried shrimp and two sauces, a basil pesto and a sweet chili (both were good). Note: as a brewery this place rocks! The beer menu is huge and there are lots of offerings on tap. The inside bar with the wrap around tap options is a wonderful sight to behold. read more
