I came here and stumbled upon a solid happy hour special. It was 1/2 off appetizers and 2 off beers. The selection wasn't great for non- meat eaters or healthy eaters, but I was still able to find something tasty and reasonably healthy in the appetizer column. There is an exceptional number of local and non-local brews. The outdoor seating was great and we were pleased with the service. Table side entertainment systems- this is available here. If you are a parent who is ok with these and likes this as an option, they are available here. If you are one that is concerned over screen time it may be difficult to pull them from these machines. Overall, a nice restaurant in the glenview entertainment district. Parking is ample because it is close to the theatre. Dress is casual. It seems to be family friendly. read more

We went as a large group and had a fairly enjoyable dining experience. First of all, I want to thank the company for including menu variations that can be consumed by people of all different backgrounds. The menu offers different ethnic variety and even vegetarian/vegan variety. The service was a little bit slow, though nothing entirely egregious. The biggest problem was I paid in cash and the waiter thought he was entitled to my change. He had earned himself a tip up to that point, but he had not earned an entitlement to take my change without asking. When I brought it up, he came back and handed me the literal coins but not the bills. That ended up being his tip. He would have earned a larger tip had he not stolen my money. It's a shame that entitlement detracted from a good meal out with friends. I will give them another try at some point, but hopefully I get a different waiter or I just pay with credit card next time. Food quality is never consistent here. Some days it's pretty nice, but most days it's waaaay too salty or otherwise tastes wrong. Great for drinking, as there's a bar, but it's also a restaurant, so I have to say, I'm disappointed. Last time my wife and I had dinner there, they had such curt service that we were practically ignored. While the server wasn't rude, they didn't check in to see if we needed anything, didn't offer refills on drinks, and although we aren't cheap tippers, with a minimum of 20% regardless of service, they ignored us after we paid, while the manager himself visited all the other tables. I would give more stars if I could. The service, the food, the atmosphere... killing it!! Right when I walked in, the 2 hosts were so kind and helpful. My waitress, Claudia, omg... hilarious and fun. My husband, friends and I hung out there for 5 hours catching up, eating and drinking. We didn't even go to our next place bc we were having so much fun there; we just stayed. The food was superb!! We ordered many dishes so we could all try them. The Thai Porkchop (best dish there!)- delish. The queso- best queso I've ever had. The wings, lobster noodles ... all of it - delish! We will be back. Even the music was fantastic. The manager came over and chatted with us for a while. Told us about the CA artist that does all the art for the Yardhouses. We just had such a great experience! My second review of this place. In town for a few weeks stoped by for happy hour either my wife. Had chicken nachos followed by sliders with American cheese. Really nachos best I have ever had. The sliders were actually medium rare. Perfect, real fries crispy. Two 20 oz Miller light draft very cold and refreshing. The happy hour menu is half price. This meal $30 includes tax and tip. Not sure how the Glen is doing as a whole but I can almost guarantee that the Yard House, situated next to the movie theatre, will always be busy. It's location is good, as are the many seating options and large bar with it's great selection of beer choices. The bar is always packed and there are numerous TVs around to enjoy televised sporting events. There is also a great, extensive menu of dining options. We are particularly impressed by their vegetarian/vegan options including Gardien products. Also impressive was our waiter last night (Ryan?); he showed maturity, was polite and knowledgeable. For these reasons they get 2 stars. The four dinner selections and one appetizer my dining partners and I chose came out quickly and were presented nicely. The appetizer of tuna nachos was pretty good, no complaint there. Initially I realized just how much salt was used in my Mediterranean salmon, then I realized how salty my husband's salad was, finally, I tried my mom's fries which were cold, undercooked, dry, and over salted. I suspect this may have something to do with their attempt to sell beer. When I got home I was insatiably thirsty. I was woken in the middle of the night by an unquenchable thirst accompanied by a slight nausea. Also frustrating was the hidden charge to play a game. Each table has a computer pad on which you can peruse the menu, order, and pay the bill (nice). We played a game on the pad and was surprised at the $1.50 charge to play. We had not seen anywhere that there was a charge to participate in the games. I have been here numerous times, dozens, and it's not been this bad. I'm sure I'll go again and request no salt. This is a trusted family fav... yes it's a little loud but it's to be expected since it is a bar/restaurant... however, the service at each visit has always been top notch and bc we're vegetarians that crave a good chikin wing every so often, we often order their Gardein wings in a myriad of flavors. Underwhelming is a good word to describe this place. Our server took a little while to greet us and the food in general was a bit of a wait. The wait was not even worth as my burger while being juice and cooked well, did not have any seasoning at all. My partner got a Philly steak with the steak cut chunky instead of thinly sliced and the cook on it was uneven on all the pieces as some were very rare and others over cooked and tough. As well as it had no flavor whatsoever and had an off putting sandy texture in the mouth. The saving grace were the wings. The whiskey black pepper wings were fantastic and the sole reason I would come back. read more

Coming to food, my husband and I are vegetarians and were happy to see the many vegetarian/ vegan options on the menu. To start with, we ordered crispy brussels sprouts and potatoes and shitake mushroom noodles and sadly both were extremely bland in taste. The sprouts and potatoes were oily, cold and didn't have any sort of seasonings on it. We had to ask for condiments to be able to eat it which is not what you want when you are paying big $$ for it. I was very disappointed in how the wait staff managed my request for an outside tables. Multiple tables were open outside and the couple ahead of me was accommodated, but I was told it would be a 25 minute wait. I agreed to an indoor table but asked for a booth. Again there were plenty of booths open but was given one that was totally inappropriate for a party of 2. I moved to a square table in the middle of the room. In the meantime, I saw other customers being seated outside. (When I checked in, they told me they had no one on the waitlist, so I don't think any of these folks had reserved tables). Yummy, yummy food and good service. A few of us dined here on a Friday night before 6pm and tried several of their 1/2 price appetizers. Everything was delicious, but I especially liked the cheese curds and onion rings. I ordered the Bahi tacos entree with rice and beans. *Warning* the rice is super spicy. Came here for dinner after going to the movies at the theater almost next door. Unfortunately there was about a half hour wait for an outdoor table at 8 pm on a summer Saturday. We didn't want to wait that long so we opted for a booth inside which we able to be seated at right away. Though our server was very friendly the overall service experience was pretty abysmal. We asked for an extra drink menu but it took them 10 minutes to bring one. By then everyone had already had a chance to pass the one we had around. They finally came to take our drink order and we ordered our food too since we were ready. I ordered the shrimp lettuce wrap appetizer as my entree. They are not listed on the menu, only the chicken ones. The shrimp ones are kind of on a secret menu. They are quite tasty and make a great entree. The guys each ordered some soup and some tacos. Here is where the service really went awry. The brought out one bowl of soup and the tacos. Then we waited for the rest of our order - the lettuce wraps and a bowl of soup. The lettuce wraps came out, a bit later but the soup just didn't. Finally our server stops by and says he doesn't know what happened to the soup but he put in another order for it. It was another fifteen minutes before it arrived! Fifteen minutes for soup! Truly crazy poor service. I do like the gadgets they have on the tables that allow you process your credit card payments yourself so you don't have to wait. read more

Last night was a stop for just a beer and an appetizer, but well worth the stop! I had the House Belgian beer and it was great! For our appetizer we selected the Cheese Curds. We are really big Cheese Curd fans and you'll notice many of my reviews contain information about the Cheese Curds. The Yard House scored high points for their variation. The batter was light, the serving size was big, the curds had a slightly greasy touch and the cheese was white and fresh. They are served with two sauces, a sweet red and a white ranch type, and both were a good topping on a great curd!! read more

This is my last time eating at yard house. I haven't been impressed with the quality of food here ever since I discovered this place out in Phoenix Arizona. All of their pasta dishes come with either vodka sauce or marinara. I can't eat tomatoes so I have to always substitute it for butter. Now mind you they put a tiny bit of butter and there's no seasonings..... it's so bland, I literally can make this at home! Of course it's a $14 meal which again pasta for an entire box costs $2 max so think of the money they're making off of us customers to not have it deliciously made is just ridiculous. I think the only reason I would ever come here again is for their beer, since they have a good selection. Oh my husband ordered a halibut $28 and the fish wasn't tender, it was rather hard to the bite. I make this fish all the time at home and never had it be so hard. Service is usually pretty terrible. Which is unfortunate since they have a great happy hour. Just being acknowledged by the server while you wait for them to stop by would be a big plus but sometimes we just sit there for a while as the server keeps passing by and there's no eye contact or acknowledgement. Some of the food came out cold and calamari was rubbery. Things went downhill when the 2 hostesses made fun of us while we stepped out for a few minutes (after notifying our server) and we walked up right behind them as they talked badly about us unbeknownst to them we were standing right behind them. We are usually very easygoing people since we're both in the restaurant industry but that behavior was extremely shocking because they were doing it loudly in front of everyone. Nothing is amazing here IMO, but it's solid, decent service, and the most recent time I went, at 5:30 on a Thursday it was PACKED. The Happy Hour specials (from 4-6pm) are pretty baller. Split a pizza and moo shoo egg rolls with a gal pal and pretty sure the bill was $7 each. We didn't drink (don't judge). The portions are extremely generous. We did, however, still finish the pizza and egg rolls (again, don't judge - one was eating for two...). Anyway, it's ridiculously cheap if you can get your order in before 6, and it's solid bar food. Went here for lunch this week with my husband and 6 week old baby. The space is gorgeous and very spacious. We had plenty of room for our stroller. I had the slider lunch special. It was nothing remarkable but still good. My husband enjoyed his French dip sandwich. Service could have been better. Our server was aloof and was a little slow. It took a while to get refills on our drinks. It took the manager who stopped by our table to get a refill on my husband's drink. Prices are a bit high for what you get. This is the 2nd time I've had dinner here and both times were just awful. My dinner partner said this isn't the place to get sea bass and he was right. It was almost raw and the flavor mix was really off. I've been here for lunch and have had the BBQ Chicken Salad which is great.I've had the poke stack which is great. I had horrible experience with this place last night. About 6:30pm we called for time for a res...the woman on the phone estimated about 30 minutes either inside or outside. She went on to say if we went to their website they offered a "wait list" listing which would probably save us half the time...so of course we did When I arrived, I was dropped off with my walker and my wife went to park the car...I approached the outside hostess and gave her our name;she had no res and said that their system did not respond to the website listing....what???? Why refer someonetosomething that doesn't work...she asked if I wanted to speak with the mgr...I did and he came out and was of no help and actually pretty obnoxious saying too bad, nothing I can do about it....so will never even think of going back there; to many other nice places in the area with managers who care about the customers. read more

Blueberry ketchup was tad sweeter than regular ketchup, with the hues but not so much the taste of blueberries. Forgot the burger had it while eating, though it complimented the white cheese well. There were fancy elements, but the burger was underwhelming overall. Had no rich flavors, and the bun a little dry. An upscale family-friendly restaurant, but also good for meetings. The edamame is an excellent choice for an appetizer. I would advice going the traditional route with the edamame and not the hot and spicy.
