When Mrs. K. and I visit Chicago, there are many dietary restrictions with my Chicago K's. Alergy, Vegetarian, wanna be Vegetarian. I think they restaraunt delivered while the server was a lost ball in tall weeds. Asking for the same thing three times does get old. For our final order, we used the tabletop kiosk, which seemed to get it right. I ordered their lobster pasta dish. I had to return it as it had shrimp in the mix. Shrimp allergies, but no lobster allergies. Oh well, it did look good. The decor is very much Cheddar's or TGIF Fridays style. We needed a lunch spot that would fit our six adults and five kids -- that also showed sportsball -- and Yard House definitely fit that bill. We were able to get a table fast, and oh boy, TVs everywhere. Pretty much anywhere you sit you can see at least five. So the guys were happy with this, though it makes the restaurant overall pretty loud. Their menu has all of the pub food fare you would expect, including several delicious looking burgers. I got a Bleu Cheese & Bacon Burger, which was pretty great and came with a mound of fries. My daughter got the Mac & Cheese from the kids menu, which ended up being an adult's plate size of mac and cheese. Not complaining -- just you can probably split this between two kids. The beer list was also great. We had to wave the server over a few times after waiting a while for our checks and refills, but overall, this was a pleasant visit. Would come back. read more

My brother in law wanted to get together so we decided to go to the Yard House. We were able to walk in and get seated immediately. Our server took our drink orders and came back with the drinks quickly. She also brought us water! We shared the cheese curds and it certainly was a great choice. The curds came fast and they were plentiful. The batter was good and light, We also shared the fried Brussels which was fried just right where it had crisp edges (you know what I mean). I decided to get the lobster garlic pasta! The lobster was cooked correctly and the meat was tender and not over done. I really enjoyed the dish. I'd order it again in the future. Met up with a couple of friends here to watch a basketball game (sadly our team lost). We had a reservation and they did let us sit even though the whole party wasn't there yet. The waiter was nice, no pressure to rush us at all. We ordered the poke nachos, the chicken lettuce wraps, and 3 different tacos. All were pretty good, not huge portions. The guys enjoyed the wide selection of beers and were intrigued by the yard but not willing to drink that much! What I really thought was great was that when we were checking out on the app we could select the items we purchased for payment as well as just deciding to split an entire bill by percentage. Love the happy hour option on weekdays, 3-6pm which includes $2 off cocktails and 1/2 off select appetizers and pizza... ... though many of the apps are underwhelming. The chicken nachos don't taste as good as they used to, and the pizzas are extremely thin crust. The toppings on the carnivore pizza are too much for the crust and don't hold up. The 2 apps I would get on repeat are the crispy Brussel sprouts and the cheese curds. My husband's shrimp and chicken pasta was tasty on our last visit, and the Mediterranean veggie burger was A-OK. Tasted like chickpeas, garlic, and onion, but needed a little more mayo or sauce. The side house salad was bland, and the carrots were browning and on their last leg. This is a large space and there were lots of people dining inside too. We met at the Yard House in Glen View for a birthday party of my wife's coworkers. The House has potential for a place to celebrate and have drinks. It's very large on the inside with plenty of tvs playing and drinks pouring. The Malibu Peach drink I had was delicious and the taste did feel like a vacation as the category it is placed under. The food however was not all that great. I had shiitake garlic noodles and was disappointed with the flavor. The mushroom or garlic flavors did not come through on a dish that should have been very savory, but much of it was degraded by something sweet that was added. Miguel's queso dip was a little better than the noodles. It was hot, rich, gooey, and came with plenty of chips and tortillas. If I came back here it would not be for the food, but maybe the drinks and lively atmosphere perhaps. read more

I'm sorry today for the rating I feel I have to give. The service? 4-5 stars. Attentive waiter. Quick service. The food? I'm so disappointed. Cheeseburger 2 stars. Medium cook, but zero flavor. None. The tomato was bland. The onion is some kind of super thin paper curls with no flavor. No seasoning on the burger. It was my least fav burger. The Parmesan truffle burger my daughter had was the same way. We both had truffle fries. Needed salt. The bbq chicken salad unfortunately didn't have much bbq sauce or chicken in it. I just remember when the food was 5 stars. The sauces were excellent. Even the angry orchard on tap had this bad taste. Anyway. Went in on a Saturday night at 5:30, greeted by friendly hostess and seated immediately! Server came by asked if we'd like water , and them took our drink order. We were waiting on a 3rd guest , and he noticed we had birthday gifts and flowers and he asked if we wanted to have the comp bday dessert delivered to her at end ! Very nice he noticed and suggested with out us asking! I had filet mignon with carrots , asparagus & parm mashed taters! It was amazing! I think Yardhouse is always a solid restaurant option. The menu has a wide variety without being overly huge. My husband and I started by sharing the queso which was great! It's a pretty large portion though! I like that they serve it with both small tortillas and chips. Then for our meal we split the chicken & avocado sandwich and the whiskey & aged cheddar burger. Both were good options! I also upgraded my side to the Parmesan truffle fries. My husband and I are not drinkers, but if you are then they have tons and tons of beer options! The staff are all very friendly and service is fairly quick as well! Our server was great at bringing us a drink refill before our first was even finished. The food is great, the chicken is seasoned & grilled to perfection. I appreciate the gluten free menu, however, it has no pricing. This is absolutely ridiculous. You charge $2 extra for the gluten free bun, but the size is smaller now. The chicken breast was hanging off the tiny bun, which makes no sense. Paying $18.50 for a sandwich on a tiny bun with a side salad is just not worth it. Furthermore, the bar staff is not very attentive. I always sit at the bar, which is not busy on Sunday afternoons. Our waiter, Micah, was very quick with our drink orders and very patient as we waited for some of the party to arrive. Oof. I wasn't going to leave a review, but very disappointed with both the service and the drink I ordered. Came here in a party of 4 around 8:30 after dinner. We let the server know the tablet wasn't working, and she was a bit snippy to tell us that she needed to check our ID'S first before using it for drinks. We weren't able to know that from looking at the device, so maybe make it more apparent on the device in the future? Each of us ordered a drink. We ordered a beer, a margarita, a pineapple crush, and I ordered a recovery cocktail. My recovery cocktail is supposed to come with grey goose vodka. Idk what happened - maybe they thought I needed more "recovery," (although I was sober) but my cocktail had soda and no alcohol. It was basically cucumber water. When we pointed it out to the waitress, she said she'll take care of it and get me a new one. After some time, finally the new cocktail came. It had a slight amount of alcohol, but still pretty much seemed like cucumber water. It should have grey goose watermelon & basil vodka, but you can't taste vodka or watermelon. The server apologized and said she would take it off the tab. Later, the manager came by and asked if something happened with the cocktails. TLDR; the server had charged us for both the recovery cocktails, and the manager only wanted to comp one of them. I can't say for sure what happened, but when I tried the margarita my husband ordered, it very clearly had (a good amount of) tequila in there. Maybe because my husband is a tall man and I'm a petite asian girl, they thought it would be better for me to have a mocktail instead. In any case, I didn't appreciate the experience here - the attitude of the staff was not very welcoming or accommodating, and I didn't like feeling discriminated. Sam, our bartender, was warm, friendly, and offered us a few samples to help us make our beer selections. I chose the Goose Island 312 Raspberry Jams. Our new go-to appetizer here is the buffalo chicken wings, and no other restaurant has the unique crispness of breading that this place has on their wings. The wings are AMAZING and so full of flavor and crunch. They also give you 10 wings. So it's definitely filling for just a 2-person appetizer. This last time we came, which was last weekend. My husband ordered the carnivore pizza and loved it. It had sausage, beef, bacon, and pepperoni. He said it was delicious, and he was able to have leftovers for the next day since I didn't share with him. For my entrée, I ordered the steak bowl, which I think is a newer item because I haven't seen that before (but I could be wrong). It had a bit of heat to it with the red pepper flakes, but it had a nice texture despite having quinoa, rice, steak, and greens in it. To be honest, I did think it was going to have more rice when it was presented in front of me, but it was mostly quinoa. I still would 100% order it again, though, and the tastes all complimented each other. We always have great service here, too!
