Tiny place, but the service is friendly and the ambience is great. Sushi was very pricey, but everything tasted fresh and it was a great meal. One roll was really small, and I kinda felt that $24 for it was overpriced. The rolls we ordered ranged from $24- $28 each. There's one roll that's called the tsunami. It has fresh snow crab and was phenomenal. By far, my fave roll out of all 4. My daughter doesn't like sushi, but she said the udon was very flavorful and the tempered veggies that came with it, were delicious. It's probably not a place I could afford to frequent while visiting, but I would definitely come back again.

Service was excellent. They had outdoor seating available so we sat outside. I would get the shishitos again and the tuna tacos. The other dishes were good just not my favorite. I would definitely go back to try more of their food.

Small cave like venue with excellent sushi, sashimi and rolls to choose from along with appetizers. Some not too commonly found sashimi including flounder and octopus. Nice selection of sake and wine with a few cocktail specialties. It is a bit noisy and a 90 minute table limit. Best to make a reservation on the weekends especially.

Too much to mention, all was delicious!

This tiny sushi joint in Vail Village is a hidden treasure! Make a reservation as they are jam packed with only about 12 tables or so. Great service and ambiance with club like vibe. The sushi and sashimi is top notch! On a side note, it was very warm inside.

Great Sushi!! I LOVED the edamame and the middle roll was my fav. (The coconut shrimp roll)! We also loved the salmon and tuna sashimi that were marinated in the ponzu/citrus marinade! The spicy tuna with the shishito peppers on top were great as well! Over all great experience!

We went here on a Tuesday night, late Aug. I had just had a root canal down in Denver, so when we got back to our hotel our concierge said this was the place he and his wife often visited. We strolled by and saw one group of people sitting outside. The sun was setting. The town center was impeccably quiet. We sat down and were immediately greeted by Sarah, one of the most genuine servers we've ever met. She took a pencil, and made a checkmark by her favorites. We ordered a Chianti. The evening was magical. The food was outstanding! The ambiance, bliss. The service over the top.

Food, service and ambiance everything was delicious, our server took his time and helped us decide as we tried a wide variety of menu items. Will be sure to come back when in Vail.

Small sushi restaurant in Vail Village. If I remember correctly they open at 5 PM for dinner. They accept reservations, which my family and I were not aware of, but we were able to snag a spot as soon as they opened. They offer booth seating as well as table seating. We were greeted by 2 employees whom were friendly and got us seated right away as there was no one else in the restaurant at that time. Our server provided us regular menus as well as what I think was a "seasonal" menu where you are given a pencil and you check off which items you would like. He also noticed my mom was a bit uncomfortable in her chair due to her backpack, so he offered to place it in a secure closet near the host stand. When ordering our food I mentioned my allergies and our server was kind enough to take the time to suggest and check off some of his favorite sushi rolls as well as rolls that do not contain my allergies. Our table ordered: miso soup, veggie roll (sorry, I don't remember the name, but i'll provide a photo!), udon bowl with chicken skewers, and sirloin teriyaki skewers with side of rice. While waiting, our servers ensured our waters were full and my boyfriend ordered a hot toddy, which he felt was too strong and didn't have honey. So if you prefer to have honey in your hot toddy just make sure to ask! The food didn't take long at all to come out. I didn't get a chance to taste the veggie roll, but it smelt delicious and the feed back from my brother and boyfriend was two thumbs up! So, I hardly ever eat steak, but I was on vacation and thought I'd give it a shot and I definitely was not disappointed. Usually the texture of steak gets to me, but I enjoyed Yama's sirloin very much. It wasn't too "chewey" and had just the right amount of juices. The vegetable tempura that came along the udon tasted fresh as well. Overall the family and I were pleased with the food. There were two gentlemen in particular that helped our table. We felt that the service was great. We were frequently checked on, but not in an overwhelming manner. They also had a good sense of humor! As far as prices go..they are pretty pricey, but given the locale I believe it's to be expected and well matched with the quality of the food. For 5 people and a couple appetizers our total came to around $159. 5 stars!

We had a great time here. Sat outside on a Wednesday night, beautiful setting. We had the sea weed salad, I had Saba (mackerel) and the caterpillar roll. All were pretty good. Other members of my party had the Udon and they liked it as well. What I really enjoyed was the service -- the hostess was very friendly and attentive. Our server, Maya, was very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. She seemed like she knew the menu really well, was very patient, kind, efficient -- it's good to see great service! The food came out on time and the server/hostess checked in to see how we were doing. The portion sizes were just right and the quality of ingredients was good. I've got no criticism, everything went great so I'd highly recommend this place for sushi in Vail and for sitting outside in particular!

Yalls, just had the best last night here in Vail. Important stuff: - Amazing service (the manager here, he is so sweet and nice, really made our night) - The food. So good. - The energy and vibes, 100%. - Probably best to do reservations, but we did get lucky tonight without one. Honestly, we were skeptical about sushi up in the mountains, didn't think it could be good, but boy were we wrong! But not only was the sushi here delicious, the service, the people and the energy here were amazing. Starting off with the manager. He was so friendly and kind. Although they were booked for the night, he was able to squeeze us in for a table before closing. He also happened to be from Manhattan Beach (LA love). And then the gal who served us for the night, was super attentive and nice as well. But wow, the people next to us on both sides were just so friendly and fun. I honestly think this place just has some good vibes all around. Now on to the food. My zinger drank was delish. We also ordered the yuzu yellowtail (amazing), the spicy tuna rolls (so good), edamame beans (spicy and goood), and some regular sashimi (which was solid). Overall, food was great and vibes were 100%. If you're looking for some good food and a good time. Highly recommend!

If you want authentic Szechuan this is the place! What we got: - Wonton soup - homemade dumplings had a good ginger and garlic flavor. Big enough for two as an app. - Double cooked pork - absolutely outstanding. Big portion with vegetables, fermented black beans, so good! - Spicy crispy fish - highly recommend this if you like spicy food. I love this dish whether the chicken or fish variations and this might have been the best I've had! I can't say enough about the Chinese food. We were blown away with how good they were. Our server Patrick was incredible. He was so friendly and welcoming. He's a serious skier and you can often find him backpacking 30+ pounds of cooking gear to make fresh food slope side! We have tried many places in Vail and I highly, highly, highly recommend this place. The interior is small so I recommend making a reservation. Pro tip: it's BYOB so bring a bottle of wine or a few beers!

Since I'd parked at Lions Head, before I returned to Denver, I considered the Vail Chophouse, as their menu looked delicious, however when I went inside, the live music was so loud - even with my noise-canceling headphones still in- that I still couldn't hear, and knew I'd blow out my ear drums. Enter: Montauk Seafood Grill, the perfect antidote, with an equally appealing menu, and a much more serene ambiance. :-) Given I was famished, I asked my wonderful server, Brenn, for recommendations, and she was - hands down - one of the best servers I've had, in a long time. She was friendly, attentive, honest, and an all around delight. I started by asking her suggestion, as to if I should order the "Blood Moon" or "Happy Coconut" mocktail, and she recommended the Blood Moon, which was delicious! I love Blood Orange, and it had the perfect combination of mint, to be both sweet & sour. I needed a mocktail, given I was driving back to Denver, after dinner. She then brought me delicious Rosemary Sourdough and Citrus Butter, as a starter, which was fantastic, especially given I needed all the carbs, from skipping lunch, riding so much, and from fasting the night before, for a prior medical appointment, that morning, in Denver, hence my late start, snowboarding. Then I ordered - and loved - the Point Reyes Blue Cheese Crusted Filet Mignon, medium rare, with the most delicious asparagus I've ever had, and I was grateful that they could make my truffle potatoes, whipped, instead of hash brown style. I ended my delicious dinner with a cappuccino, for the drive home. Perfection!

We're staying at the Grand Hyatt, which has been... fine. Meh, if we're being honest. But, being the swarthy pirates that we are, we showed up anyway; and thank sweet baby Jesus, we found two seats at the bar. Our barkeep, Gummow, a fellow swarthy pirate, was excellent in every possible way. His bar back, Rowan, could not have been a better support man. Together, they delivered the kind of service that makes you remember why hospitality is an art form. And the food? Absolutely to die for. My girlfriend had the oxtail, and I had the mock paella. Both were incredible. The service, the food, the environment; every facet was dialed in. We will be going back tomorrow for lunch, possibly dinner, and possibly to inquire about monthly rent.
