Great scallops. Service was good. Chef was entertaining. Reservation was for different location but took us anyway

The other day my boyfriend and I went to Nozawa (our favorite sushi spot around) and had a lunch date. The service is always great and the food is excellent. We started with miso soup and some fried calamari. This was our first time trying the fried calamari and it was very flavorful and we loooved the sauce it came with. Then we ordered some nigiri. I had the masago and my boyfriend had the mackerel and smoked salmon. For our rolls I ordered a fresh water eel roll and the shredder roll. My boyfriend ordered the spicy yellowtail and the atomic shrimp roll. Overall we had a blast and the presentation was beautiful! Can't wait to come back.

Very dishonest restaurant. We went there to get some food, and found that the portions were incredibly small. The menu seemed reasonable at first, and then we had to end up ordering additional items. Instead of spending about 50 bucks for two people, by the time we were full we had spent $119. I left a tip and my total was 131.73. I looked at my merchant statement and they had ran my card for $143.73. The server was Ivan. I called the restaurant to notify them of the dishonest amount, charged, and they argued with me about how they were entitled to a bigger tip. The food wasn't great. They didn't refill my water. And the food came out at different times from my friend that was with me. Bad customer relations and not great food.

I've been coming to the Beaver Creek area for well over 20 years now. The Sushi here is creative, fresh and very tasty! One of the few restaurants in the area where I do not feel like the prices are dramatically inflated. We come to Avon/Beaver Creek a few times a year and this is always one of my favorite stops! Keep up the great work we will be back :-)

The ambience is very nice. It is open and bright and clean and Asian. They also had a case of desserts (like tiramisu) and ice cream. I've been going to Fairplay for years. I never stopped here because I didn't know what it would be like. Well let me tell you, the service could not have been better. Welcoming, efficient, readily able to make requested adjustments to dishes. There are many items on the menu to choose from. We had tofu and vegetables sesame chicken. Both were just so amazingly delicious. I actually find myself thinking of finding an excuse to go back to FairPlay so I can get such wonderful food again because in my area it's hard to find such good Asian food. I cannot recommend this place enough. It checked all of the boxes and then some. The only downside is there are no lunch specials but I felt like the food was worth every penny we paid.

We had the edamame, the crab Rangoon which is minus crab but seems to have Rangoon sauce and the fried gyoza which were yummy. I have eaten at every restaurant on the square except there. We arrive at 2:37pm and the host told he could not seat us because the close at 3pm a reopen at 4:30pm and they take their last seating at 2pm for lunch! We graciously left and said we were sorry. I go back there today by myself at 2pm and was seated at the bar by the same host. Sat down at the bar the server was Kurt and pushing, which I am use to up here, did not even excuse herself or tell she was leaving. Kind of rude as a server. As I was finishing up I notice people coming 2:37pm, 2:45pm and 2:50pm and the same host that refused to serve us sat every one of them at a table. This was my first time eating this restaurant and after our experience the day before. It is not a good look. I do not think will eat there again. Derrick Poe

Extremely small pieces. Six for $30. Nuts. Almost tasteless. And that is the problem with this place. The prices are even beyond ski resort crazy We got a spicy salmon roll with ikura for $42. Eight small pieces. And these spicy fish items, of course, use all the odds and ends of the fish. They are the byproduct of Nigiri. As someone who eats in New York and San Francisco all the time and even in Park City and Vail, I was really shocked by these crazy prices.

Utterly superb. Truly - and not without significant competition - the best restaurant in Aspen…read more Every dish, without exception, is extraordinary. I went last year (its first year open) and thought it was amazing...but sometimes returning to a restaurant you remember to be good proves disappointing. Upon returning this year - our most anticipated reservation of our annual trip to Aspen - I was completely blown away. The most difficult part about eating at Wayan is choosing among myriad items that all look amazing. We got the following... - the hamachi crudo appetizer...I was a little reluctant to order it because it seemed like the most conventional dish on the menu. So glad our waiter raved about it because it was somehow both delightfully refreshing yet deeply complex in flavor - the spring rolls - the mushrooms inside were a brilliant touch and the sauce...I literally finished it with a spoon - chicken satay - okay another seemingly conventional dish yet somehow more succulent than any chicken I've had with sauce that I also used a spoon to eat the last drop of - short rib fried rice - as good as it sounds. Unctuous yet not greasy. Perfectly plump yet not too rich. Exactly what you hope to get when ordering it - cauliflower - somehow even grilled cauliflower was elevated both texturally and gustatorily (confession - the word gustatory escaped me so when looking it up I discovered a perfect word to describe pretty much the entire meal - Organoleptical means means flavor + aroma + mouthfeel) - corn fritter - the menu needs to be updated to add a warning label for this dish. DO NOT EAT STANDING UP...your knees will buckle, you will swoon. The oozing crispness...the sauce that is somehow both complex in flavor yet doesn't mask the natural deliciousness of the corn itself...I will be dreaming about that first bite - sides of brussel sprouts and mushrooms (brought to us by mistake but once I tasted I refused to send them back...apologies to whatever table had to wait extra for their mushrooms) were both delectable and highly complementary to the rest of the meal - banana sundae dessert - really fun way to cap the meal. Sneakily good...most of the dishes above punch you in the face with deliciousness...the sundae starts nice but gets better with each bite Part of me wants to cancel the rest of our reservations and just return here. Can't wait to come back...either next year or quite possibly tomorrow.

Very vibe-y with a loud DJ…read more Aspen has many restaurants sprinkled around with delicious hits. As a newer restaurant to the city, the first of its kind to serve Indonesian cuisine, I was disappointed that the flavors were muted compared to the vibrant atmosphere. I wish they had more vegetable offerings as there was only brussel sprouts or a salad that barely had lettuce. The pandan custard had way too much passion fruit puree - it was very tart and overpowered the pandan flavor. Pricing is on par for family-style portions. There were long waits between the small plates, large plates, and desserts. The best dish was the cheese chocolate plate which was a surprising delight.
