The space itself is quite small, but the food was absolutely incredible. My friend and I started with the oysters and a bowl of miso soup. Both were fresh and a perfect way to begin the meal. For my entrée I had the salmon nigiri, scallop nigiri, a California roll, and bluefin nigiri, and each piece was outstanding. The fish was incredibly fresh, buttery, and clean-tasting with none of that overly "fishy" flavor you sometimes get- just pure, high-quality seafood that melts in your mouth. I also ordered a mocktail that was refreshing and well balanced, which was a nice touch. The waitress was very attentive and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Even though the restaurant is on the smaller side, the quality of the food and the warm service make it a place I would absolutely recommend. Had an incredible dinner at hooked. We sat at the bar and were helped by Sam. He is fantastic- personable, kind, and knowledgeable on the menu! The food was delicious. Very fresh, favorable and fun rolls. We enjoyed the e fire rice. The honeymoon roll, and the hiramasa roll! We also had the hot&raw spicy tuna. Super delicious! We enjoyed them all. After reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned about this reservation... It was amazing, truly a meal our family will remember for a long time. We had to wait briefly for our table and got drinks at the bar - the bartenders take their craft really seriously. I got the maitai which was outstanding but my daughter got the margarita martini and it was a showstopper - the effort they go through to make that it's ridiculous. It was expensive but the whole fish experience is absolutely worth it. Truly great from the initial pick of the fish till the last course. It's basically a chef's tasting done from one fish. Blown away. I was introduced to this restaurant by some friends who took me here to eat and It blew past my expectations. The restaurant was clean and well maintained which is a must for working with seafood. The servers were attentive and very polite, offering to take photos and helping with the menu. This was my first time trying Oysters, Calamari, Tuna, and much more and it was all so good. You can tell that everything served was made with intent and care. We spent a week at Beaver Creek and made Hooked our first dinner of the visit. Hooked features fresh fish flown in overnight from Tsukiji and their signature dish is the whole fish which is prepared in a total of 12 hot and cold servings. For those torn between sushi / sashimi or a filet this selection is the perfect approach. Our server offered a choice between three different whole fish and we chose a 4 pound Buri (Japanese amber jack) which offers a distinctly higher fat content in winter. The chef prepared 6 raw and 6 cooked servings of Buri; each was meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. The courses were nicely spaced over a 2.5 hour dinner. The final dish was the Aji course which is almost impossible to find outside of Japan. Hooked has a commendable selection of Nihon Shu and we made a bold effort to sample as many of their offerings as we could. Hooked's atmosphere is a bit odd, which might be our only criticism. It's a curious mix of Trader Vic's meets Shibuya akachochin. In the event it achieves neither the kitsch of a tiki bar nor the warmth of an izakaya. We value quality and have no issue paying for superlative articulations of Japanese fare. Our bill with tax and tip exceeded $600 for two. Having lived in Tokyo we found that a reasonable tab for what we enjoyed though I suspect some might choke on that price. We mention this because this course only offers Market Price. Of course, this is Beaver Creek Village so most patrons might consider that to be pocket change. Hooked is a culinary excursion that we heartily recommend. It isn't a large venue so we strongly urge one to make a reservation during ski season. read more

I travel extensively for fun mostly and although I've only eaten here twice, this time being my second time, this restaurant is absolutely in my top 10 or 15 places anywhere. Why? Person that seated me was friendly, the two fellows behind the bar, Nata and Samuel (see photo) were skillful, attentive, friendly, and engaging conversationists, particularly Samuel (in terms of conversation). I had a martini, slightly dirty, with some olives. Perfect. Thanks Nata! I then ordered the clam chowder and cioppino, I know, kind of odd to have two soup dishes in a single meal. Both were excellent choices. The clam chowder was full of clams and the cioppino had a gigantic scallop that was tasty, a nice little piece of lobster, two shrimp, some fish, a clam as well. All tasty! The broth was also delicious. Anyone that complains about the service must've been here on a bad day, because the service was absolutely fantastic. As well, anyone that complains about the prices needs to be dining somewhere other than Beaver Creek, an upscale resort. Prices for the quality of food, and great service, was not unreasonable at all for this resort area. Menu was extensive in terms of variety of seafood. Outdoor seating is available, but I sat at the bar, and I'm glad I did. I will remember Samuel for a long time -- a kind soul - and, both Nata and Samuel made a very good meal even better. To begin with, I would say the food here was definitely above average. Most of the dishes we had were tasty. Their signature spicy tuna on crispy rice though was below average. Extremely small pieces. Six for $30. Nuts. Almost tasteless. And that is the problem with this place. The prices are even beyond ski resort crazy We got a spicy salmon roll with ikura for $42. Eight small pieces. And these spicy fish items, of course, use all the odds and ends of the fish. They are the byproduct of Nigiri. I'd originally given Hooked a three star in 2021 during covid, when service was lackluster. Bumped it up to five stars a few years ago. Here we are in 2025 and I'm dropping it back to three. I visit Hooked 4+ times per ski season, including twice on my Christmas break trip with my family, and service is back to mediocre at best. I love the way the menu changes, and look forward to visiting here each ski season to see what's new, but when you have to basically badger your waiter just to get water glasses refilled, or they can't even make a hot chocolate because of equipment failures that don't get resolved across a week, it really takes away from what is typically an easy $150/pp establishment if you're having cocktails. I hope I'm updating this again later this year with better news (since I'll be back in February), but we'll see. read more

My family loves fish, sushi, poke, etc. I do not like fish of any kind but there had a burger and cheese stake. I ordered the cheese steak, Needless to say, the beef was overcooked, tough, dry and the meat was actually "hard". Plus we had to wait for over 1 hour for our food after ordering. I had arrived into town yesterday day with my Husband into Beaver Creek. He tagged along with me for a work trip! We went to try to eat there! I have eaten at every restaurant on the square except there. We arrive at 2:37pm and the host told he could not seat us because the close at 3pm a reopen at 4:30pm and they take their last seating at 2pm for lunch! We graciously left and said we were sorry. I go back there today by myself at 2pm and was seated at the bar by the same host. Sat down at the bar the server was Kurt and pushing, which I am use to up here, did not even excuse herself or tell she was leaving. Kind of rude as a server. As I was finishing up I notice people coming 2:37pm, 2:45pm and 2:50pm and the same host that refused to serve us sat every one of them at a table. Next level sushi in Beaver Creek. As someone who has been coming to Becker Creek since before Hooked even existed, I cannot believe I waited until now to try it. Truly such a gem. Ambiance is super cool and trendy, service is great and food is even better. We got a variety of items off of the menu, but my absolute favorite was the fried rice and build your own fish. I chose the toothfish with the miso glaze. One word: UNREAL! Complete melt in your mouth umami. The fried rice was definitely dolled up with waygu. I loved their take on it. Good quality food, but very pricey for what it is. We understand it likely is expensive flying in the seafood. Son tried spicy tuna sushi rolls which were shockingly small and then added a crunchy tuna roll which were slightly more but it seemed to all of us crazy to pay over $60 for three small rolls after which he was still hungry Loved the fish tacos which seemed relatively reasonably priced. Aww I used to LOVE hooked. Great food great vibes I have probably eaten here 20+ times. Today I was craving seafood so ordered the scallops to-go. Photo attached -- 3 scallops for $45.50? Called the restaurant and they tried to explain to me this was indeed correct that the scallop dish now comes with just 3 scallops... Please don't be influenced by the inability to get reservations here thinking it must be THAT good. Location is right at the base so super convenient but you do NOT come here for the food. My child got an avocado roll - so simple - but refused to eat it. The rice wasn't seasoned. My poke bowl was awful - rice wasn't seasoned, the vegetables weren't seasoned (just raw cucumbers, carrots). We came for lunch and ordered a burger and poke bowl for adults and sushi for our son. The Poke bowl was tiny!! For $36?! I was still hungry after. My son enjoyed the sushi, but also was still hungry after so we ordered him a kids burger which sadly was hard as a brick and burned. My recommendation is stick to the sushi here. We had asked the bartender if the seats were first come, first serve. He confirmed nicely that was their policy and so we waited. Just as we were about to sit down, THE HOSTESS aka THE BOSS, rushed over and rudely blocked me from sitting down. I almost nearly lost my step as her behavior was so rushed, deliberate and rude. She said," I have a waiting list so you can't take these seats until I check, She came back and proudly told us we couldn't take these seats as she had a party of 5". By time she left and returned there were now 7 open seats. We said fine, can we have the two seats that just opened and she FIRMLY SAID NO. Her wait list was quite long. Overall, we felt she ENJOYED her POWER as THE BOSS and rejecting us. WHO NEEDS THIS KIND OF RUDE BEHAVIOR BEFORE YOU EVEN START YOUR MEAl. Unfortunately, even though we know the owner and returned every year, we were seated next to the toilet, badly treated several times, and all the joy of dining at Hooked was gone. Hooked provides the experience that most people wish they had when they first visited Nobu or other trendy Japanese fusion restaurants. The funny part is we ended up dining at Hooked in Beaver Creek by chance. The reviews of this restaurant are, frankly, bad, and the only reason we ended up here was because they had an open reservation near 6 PM on short notice. We were blown away by the selection, the service, and the whole fish preparations. We're critical, we're experienced, we've been around the block. Hooked was a consensus top ten all-time pick amongst my party of three. We ordered oysters, caviar, two different whole fish, and fries. The bill, even with a half-bottle of Champagne and a bottle of sake, wasn't outrageous compared to any other high-end Asian fusion restaurant. It wasn't even our highest bill in Beaver Creek. It was our most memorable dining experience of this trip by a long shot. I returned the next day for lunch and it was still great. The menu is puzzling, absolutely, but there are few seafood restaurants at ski resorts that even attempt to carry selections this broad. The negative reviews need to be discounted significantly. While it is plausible that a few people got swindled by the expensive whole fish, you can look back through several years of negative reviews and realize that it's mainly people complaining about cancelation policies, the food being "expensive," or the unhelpful "bad service." One of the few reviews featuring any real qualifiers suggests that Uchi in Dallas is superior. The funny thing is that I ate at Uchi in Austin with one of my friends I dined at Hooked with and we agree it was a "generic expensive Japanese restaurant." If you are looking for a premium meal in the vicinity of $200pp+, this is it. Stop spending your money at steakhouses. read more

You might be rightfully hesitant to order raw seafood in a teeny, landlocked resort. However the offerings here challenge those in larger cities. I survived and enjoyed oysters on the half shell. The New England clam chowder was so good I ordered it twice. It is creamy as opposed to chunky, which is what I prefer. Had an excellent Lobster roll and salmon sashimi on different nights. We stopped in here for apres ski drinks. They hand make a lot of the mixers, so you know they are natural. They do have a lot of Sakes and Mules - their specialty drinks.
