Yalla is a great spot that I haven't been to in a while at Krog Street Market. I got the chicken shawarma pita and it doesn't disappoint. This is a sandwich that you don't need sides to fill up. Delicious sandwich, but I wish they would had made the chicken warmer. Friendly and quick service. I love the atmosphere at Krog.
I stopped by for lunch on Tuesday, 2/4/25, at 12 pm. There was no line and our orders were ready very quickly. Here's what I got, prices according to my receipt: - Chicken Shawarma Laffa ($15): Delicious! Definitely spicy. So much flavor. All the ingredients tasted so fresh. - Fries ($6): This came with so many fries! Thick and good. It's definitely pricey, but well worth it. I was so full after and had leftover fries.
While in the upper 3-star range, I opted to give benefit of the doubt in grading up due to (1) my overall impression; (2) distinctiveness relative to competition; and (3) economic utility, relatively and absolutely. The food here is well-priced, especially given the strong quality of ingredients and execution. While there is room for improvement in execution, flavor and spices are not lacking here; something which is quite uncommon in major cities in the US. Even among ethnic foods, there is a common and prevailing trend to water down or alter flavor and spice index to accommodate mainstream tastes. While very modern and trendy, this restaurant adheres a Middle Eastern root while being accessible, and yet bold, distinctive, and delightful. I came here once while traveling, but I would yield benefit of the doubt that it is difficult to be disappointed here; even after numerous repeat visits. Further, the portions are very generous. Given the food hall style arrangement where this restaurant is located, I would recommend getting 2 or 3 items here and then sharing & amalgamating from numerous other options. The food here, both in quality and compatibility, work well with almost anything. I opted for Fred's for main dishes, Yalla for appetizers in the form of falafel and schwarma fries, and Little Tart Bakeshop for dessert. The service is expedient, polite, and prompt, and the food is fresh. Highly recommended.
Yalla at Krog street was a winner. Great food and flavor. The wings were very yummy. The sandwich was huge and was almost enough for two people. The chicken was tender and the fries added to the filling. Awesome food and nice staff. Definitely stop by for food when you're on the beltline
I've been coming to Yalla every so often for years and it's been a while since my last review! First things first, their falafel is some of the best you'll find in the city. It's perfectly herbaceous and crispy and just a delight to the tastebuds, truly. If I'm going to Krog, I'll usually try to stop by Yalla for a side of falafel. The last few times I've gone, I've ordered the chicken shawarma salad bowl, which is just okay... not my fave. I used to love the bowls, which came with your choice of protein, hummus, labne, chopped cucumber and tomato, pickles, and, if I recall correctly, a choice of sauce. I know I preferred zhug more than tahini. It might have even come with tahini as well though. Anyway, the menu has changed a bit over the years, because now all the bowls are salad bowls with lettuce (don't remember right now but pretty sure it's iceberg) and ranch labne. No option of a sauce, even though I could likely just ask for zhug and no lettuce. But that kind of defeats the purpose. Needless to say, I preferred the bowls the way they were previously. I love a good salad, but in this case, I don't think the lettuce adds anything to the flavor. If anything, I think it actually diminishes it a bit. I think the pita or laffa options would be better. I just tend to go for bowls. Service is generally fairly quick and the food is consistent with what you expect. The waiting area in front of the counter can get a little crowded from all the surrounding restaurants, but if you know what to expect it's fine. If you like falafel and other Middle Eastern food, Yalla is worth trying out for sure.
Decided to come to Krog street market on a Sunday afternoon and grab some dinner!! I had never eaten there before despite living in Atlanta for so long so it was great to walk around krog!! Parking is easy as I just chose to parallel park in a nearby neighborhood. After walking around, I settled on Yalla because I adore Mediterranean food!! I got the chicken shawarma bowl and it came out super quickly! The guy at the counter was really friendly as well. Brought the bowl home and gave it try! It is an absolutely jam packed bowl so be prepared for lots of food. Overall the bowl was good just a couple complaints. With tip I walked out for just under $20 which felt steep for me. The bowl was good but it did feel like some of the flavors were competing vs mixing with each other but overall the bowl was good!
Oh my! This is the fastest I have EVER left a review on a restaurant. The chicken shawarma laffa was the most incredible that I've had since Asia travels. The flavors.. great! The size... huge! Ingredients.. fresh Had falafel and fries on the side- best choices! Fries were think and salted; falafel was crisp and tasty. Damn, thank you Yalla! Apologies that I walk past the stall all the time.
Really good Mediterranean food. I ordered the chicken shawarma laffa (a wrap). It was HUGE! So tasty though! I also ordered a falafel plate and they were delicious. My husband got the lamb. He said it was good but he felt like it was a small portion. We came on a Saturday around 4pm and it wasn't too crowded. The guy working there was soooo nice! So 5 stars for him! Parking was hectic but there's a structure you can park at that's pretty pricy though
------ATMOSPHERE------ It is located in Krog Street Market so if you like the hustle and bustle, you will love coming here. ------FOOD & DRINKS------ Falafel plate - 4 falafels with some salad and labneh (ask for no labneh if you are vegan!). They were dry but not bad. ------PRICE------ Falafel plate - 6 dollars WOULD I COME BACK? Yes, I want to try other items on their menu
One of the food stands inside Krog St Market, its arabic/ middle eastern spot. Gotta say, the first time I ever had arabic food- it was pleasantly surprising. Never had israeli salad before but I can tell you its good! I got the Chicken Schwarma BOWL. Theres salad smeared on the outside of the bowl. Filled with chicken, israeli salad, fried eggplant, harrissa and tahini sauces. Super simple menu but lots of exciting sauces/spreads to try out. Recommend? Yes! Don't be afraid to try something new Return? Yes
Came here on a break! Fast service, great prices, friendly customer service! And best part the food is super delicious! I ordered the chicken shawarma pita. Sooo much flavor in every bite! And a huge portion. I could only eat half. Enjoyed the other half later and it was still super tasty! Definitely recommend!
Had a great experience eating lunch at Yalla. The staff was very friendly and gave good recommendations for the meal. We got an Olive plate (which included pickles, capers, and cauliflower pickled as well), a falafel plate, falafel pita, and a chicken schwarma pita. The only slight critique I would give was the chicken schwarma pita was a bit heavy on the pickles inside, so keep that in mind if someone in your family doesn't like them. The falafel's were fried fresh in front of us. They were served in very nice containers. The only thing I gave a four star was the atmosphere. You have to pay to park (4.00 for one hour) and then there was no seating available on a weekday at 12:30 so that was a bummer. Everything else was awesome. Keep on, Yalla!
I literally can't say enough good things about Yalla. The food here is off the charts good. I almost always get the chicken schwarma laffa. This is basically a Middle Eastern burrito with chicken and various toppings. They also have some tasty sodas and it looKs like they have fries now! I'll have to try those next time. The only thing I wouldn't ordeR again is the desert. It looks like a cake but it tastes nothing lIKe cake. If you want to try it, maybe get one for your table and everyone can have a taste.
Wow, what a wonderful weekend it was down at Krog Street Market. I tried a bunch of food, had lots of laughs and even better company. Yalla was the second place I tried out. Everything looked so wonderful so of course I was excited to try this one out! I'm a bread girl, and the pita and laffa did not disappoint. However, I wish the chicken was more flavorful. My laffa was jam packed with vegetables and various creamy textures such as humus and I think tahini sauce. Overall, it was pretty decent. I would love to go back and try something else on the menu. The soda was definitely different than anything I've ever tasted before. read more
Yalla! is located inside Krog Street Market smacked in between Fred's and G.C. BBQ I took my sister to KSM for her first experience on a weekday. We ended up having Yalla's for lunch. The line was pretty busy, but moved swiftly. Yalla serves up quick popular Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food. The main items many people order are either the PITA/LAFFA/BOWL. Choose what you want such as Shawarma Chicken, Falafel, Lamb Kebab, etc... and have it in either of the three: P/L/B. FOOD -Minute Steak Bowl (14) -Shawarma Laffa (14) The meats in both entrees were delicious; especially the minute steak, which my sister ordered. I ordered the chicken shawarma laffa. It's pretty much wrapped in a HUGE laffa bread a.k.a. tahoon bead. It's chewier than pita and a little less thick. It was hard to eat because the wrap was so big so I ended up using a fork and knife and dissected. Definitely recommended a BOWL. Healthier and less carbs! Pricey but the portion is big. Good food, but definitely other cheaper options with just as big of a portion. read more
Maybe it's not fair to write a review based on one dish. I'm going to do it anyway. I chose Yalla b/c it seemed like one of the best rated among the food options at Krog Street Market. Plus I love Middle Eastern food. SHAWARMA - $8 Got the shawarma b/c the cashier told me it was her favorite. I'm a huge shawarma fan anyway so secretly I was glad she picked that. There are 3 ways to get the shawarma - in a pita ($8), laffa ($14 - this is a HUGE wrap) and bowl ($13). Didn't want to spend too much for lunch - or eat THAT much so ordered the shawarma in pita. Wow that pita sandwich was salty and super saucy ... it was almost hard to appreciate everything in that sandwich b/c there was all kinds of stuff: chicken shawarma, hummus, baba ganoush, Israeli salad & pickles, fried eggplant, harissa, tahini and amba. The upside is that the pita sandwich was pretty big. After reading the reviews again maybe next time I should try the laffa and the house mixed sodas. read more
Yummy food - laffa shawarma with pickles, onions, tahini, baba ghanoush and a spicy sauce the name of which I've forgotten. This is one huge wrap - way more than I need in one sitting. It's about the size of a New England Patriots football. And I thought I was being light on the ingredients. Maybe they could offer a smaller size? You could order a pita, but that's a different animal. Like just about everyone and their dog has stated, you're in for a slow, inefficient process to order and receive your food. With me, I'm sure there were other things I might have wanted in my laffa but I didn't know what everything was and I couldn't hear the server very well. Leaning over the counter trying to figure out what stuff is just doesn't get it. The laffa itself? Yeah, that was pretty great. Otherwise, this would be a two-star review. I also bought one of their fresh drinks - fantastic. And a brownie - to die for. And the three-cookie packet - subtly sublime. I wish I had another brownie right now ... read more
What a pleasant surprise. I'm not super impressed with the restaurant spread at Krog Street Market. That being said, it was pretty exciting finding this little spot along the Krog Street food stalls. There was a slight line, which is sometimes a good indicator of what is to come. I ordered a chicken shawarma bowl. I'm a huge fan of the seasoning in chicken shawarma, and when done right, the chicken is super tender and flavorful. And boy was I right in making this order. I can't even name half the things in my bowl, but with all the different flavors, they all worked. The fried eggplant was on POINT, with the heavily season fried slices filling my mouth with heavenly aromas. I'll have to say, Yalla has some of the best food at Krog Street Market that I've tried, especially for the price you pay and the amount of food you get. read more

I had finally visited Krog Street Market (KSM) and so decided to try out Yalla. KSM has most of its restaurants set up so that you order you food and sit down at the shared dining benches indoors or outdoors. KSM was busy, but there weren't any lines too long at each individual restaurant. Yalla is set up 'Chipotle' style where you can order a wrap/bowl and then request what you want. One thing to note is that they prefer if you tell them what you want while you are ordering at the cashier compared to as you move along; there wasn't any crowd for us so it wasn't a big deal. I ended up ordering a chicken shawarma laffa which was about $15- a little expensive for a shawarma, but a good price for what you get, because you get a lot! I don't like too many things in my shawarma, so I just had it with the pickles, salad, and tahini sauce; I requested to have the other fillings come on the side which they gladly accommodated. Let me just say, they do not skimp on you here at Yalla! The sandwich alone weighed over 2 lbs! I tried the 'sides' first, and I liked the hummos and baba ghanoush. The grilled eggplant was good, but very greasy. The sandwich, or rather behemoth that I had ordered, was good too, but also rather greasy (mostly from the chicken and the laffa bread itself). I was pretty hungry, so this behemoth was satiating, but I would probably ask for it in a pita next time haha. Overall, I enjoyed my outing at Yalla and KSM and wouldn't mind eating here again, but I would probably go for either the kebab or falafel to avoid the excessive greasiness. read more

I've tried Yalla when my friend ordered this last time I was at Krog market and had a good first impression with their food. Since my boyfriend was craving Mediterranean-like food, I thought Yalla would be a great place for him to try. I would say their food is on the pricier side, but comes in huge portion so two people can share one to start (unless you are starving). We ordered "The Shouk" with laffa (Laffa is a flat bread they use to make a wrap, imagine almost like a tortilla for burrito, except bigger). We love fries so this seemed like a perfect choice. This one item costed 15 dollars, but you get a monstrous giant wrap. Since we were sharing, I asked them to cut it in half for us. The fries is a good addition to the wrap - adds some crispiness and texture. The food was really good - but can get overbearing with the sauce and meat. Just having half the laffa was more than enough for me and my boyfriend. I definitely recommend sharing if you are trying Yalla for the first time (plus, you get to try the other goodies in Krog market)! read more

Perhaps the most consistent stall at Krog Street. I have eaten at least five times now and it has been a great experience. They have a variety of options including beef, veggie, lamb etc. You can get those options in the form of a pita, a bowl, or a LAFFA. GET THE LAFFA. the texture of the laffa is great - a bit of a chewy consistency (think flour tortilla but thicker and chewier). It is large enough for two meals or perfect to share. My wife and I prefer the veggie option as the eggplant is on point! You can always pay for extras and we make sure to get extra eggplant. The beef option is also very solid. It is thinly sliced minute steak and you will not be disappointed if you are a meat eater. While there tends to be a line because it is made fresh to order , service is great and the line moves quickly. read more

My go to is the Chicken Shawarma on a pita. I also love their cucumber lemonade soda handcrafted drinks. So good & picture-worthy! It's located inside of the Krog Street Market. read more
This was such an awesome place that had a diversity of Mediterranean food + Vegetarian/Vegan options I tried the Tafafel w/Pita bread- I didn't take a great photo because it looked so amazing & I was beyond hungry. I ate alll of it & it was my first time trying that dish. The 3 dudes back there hooked up an Immaculate meal Hibiscus Ginger Grapefruit soda- was a burst of refreshness. It almost reminded me of a Komucha with less carbon I will most def be coming back. read more

Our trip to Atlanta over the weekend brought us to Krog Street Market. A large warehouse space comprised of several different food vendors inside and restaurants outside. We walked around a bit to get an idea of the offerings. They had everything from barbecue to dumplings. All of which looked really delicious. But after looking at the menus that peeked our interest most, we decided on Yalla. We are already huge fans of this type of cuisine and the fresh ingredients from being the window just made it that much more incising to try. They do gyros, laffas (like a wrap), and bowls. I chose the chicken shawarma bowl with hummus, baba ganoush, Israeli salad, pickles, fried eggplant, harissa, tahini, and amba. Also one of their house made sodas. The portion was amazing and the chicken was seasoned great and tasted very good. I really liked the way they smeared the different spreads along the bottom and sides of the bowl as well, making it so that you get some with each bite. The fried eggplant was one of my favorite ingredients but to my surprise, the pickles added a sweetness that I think made this dish that much better. The house made soda I got was also really good and I loved how simple and minimal the ingredients were. The fresh flower garnish was also a nice and pretty touch. read more

This place was a pleasant surprise. First I didn't realize that there was a Marketplace on Krog street. If you're in the area it's worth giving it a try. There are lots of food and other specialty shops! I stopped here because the food looked delicious! You can watch them prepare it, and once I dug into my laffa I realize this was a good choice. The ingredients were fresh, and the laffa was very filling. I tried the Salatim, which was full of vegetables. I also added beef. The portions were generous, but I ended up paying about 6 extra dollars for the meat for a total of $16. I will definitely come back and try other dishes. read more

I'd had Yalla set as one of my bookmarks, and even after having Mediterranean the night before, I was game to get some more of those great fresh mediterranean flavors. Yalla was busy on a friday lunch hour at Krog, but I braved the line and ordered. I got one of their best sellers, and tried their Chicken Shawarma Pita dish ($8) and this thing was BIG! Inside the pita came hummus, fried eggplant, babaganouh, israli salad and pickles all topped with Tahini sauce and stuffed in a pita. The chicken were in nice little strips, juicy and flavorful, and the flavors were also popping with fresh flavors. What I didn't like about the pita is each bite was completely different. Often the meat would spill out and some bites would have no meat at all, others would only be the salad or eggplant, and I do wish the Pita was more uniform. Having a nice chewy chicken mouthful was much more appealing than a mushy salad one. Staff was actually super nice and after I asked off handedly if they used flaxseed in their orders, they responded with no, but they did rattle off several items that I may be allergic to, and even put a lot of garnish and sauces on the side just in case I reacted. Located right next door to Fred's Meat and Bread, this area can get congested. There's no seating at Yalla, like at other locations in Krog Street, although there's community seating all over the place, which I took advantage of. I don't know whether or not their Laffa or bowl would've provided a more uniform mouthful or not, and if I come back and try either, i'll be sure to update my review. For now, it's a solid 3.5 stars for me, but no rounding yet. I do think it's a unique lunch option in Krog Street Market and it may be your place to stop by if you're looking for Mediterranean bites. read more

My Chicken Shawarma bowl was really great. Before Yalla, I don't think I had ever tried Middle Eastern cuisine, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't love the fried eggplant- mine was a little cold- but everything else in the bowl was delicious! I think that just may be my personal preference :) read more

Usually I'm bothered by the cold and uptight cashiers (short, white girl in particular) at Yalla but they've really improved. Overall, they've just become a lot friendlier and the energy is so much better. Big shout out especially to their new guy they have there on the register, he always smiles and has a great customer service attitude (Maxwell I think). From someone who has been to Israel, their falafel is AMAZING and I put off a bad review for so long in hope that one day I could write this one. Keep it up Yalla!!!! read more

This was a very good food option for my first time eating at this particular restaurant in Krog Street market. I would fully endorse this place for a great Option if you are looking to expand your food horizons. There shawarma was absolutely delicious. The meat was perfectly tender, the seasoning was done well and the use of segmented the food in the bowl added a great aesthetic to the dish that I loved. After mixing the food in my bowl I was pleasantly surprised by pops of flavor in bite. They also have delicious specialty lemonades, and would encourage you to try it as it goes well with the rest of the dish. My girlfriend is a vegetarian so I love the fact they have great vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options. Overall this will definitely be a place I will go back and eat at when I am at Krog's market. read more

I really enjoyed the food here and really had a hard time deciding what I was going to eat. There were so many wonderful dishes on their menu and all reasonable priced. There was a few items on the menu that I was unsure of and wished that the staff would have been a little more helpful with making suggestions as they saw me stand and stare at their menu for 5 minutes (Okay. So I exaggerated a little). But for real.... I did have to Google a few items. Anyhoo... the food was delicious. The eggplant was everything. I love how it was prepared and how it was integrated with the other ingredients to make a dish. I order the Sabich, which cost $8. I ordered it with the pita bread but I do wish I had ordered the laffa being that they give three options of how the dish can be served: Pita, laffa, and as a bowl. Unfortunately I was very indecisive and could not figure out what I wanted to eat and felt as if I was holding the line up so I decided to go with what I knew. Great tasting food. Definitely will be back. read more

This Israeli food was hard for my tastebuds as my pallet isn't used to it, so the rating could be more a reflection of my lack of culture. I ordered the vegetarian daily dish! It was flavor overload, very colorful and pretty, but too much. The beets we're sweet, I tasted turmeric, and other spices that didn't mesh well together. My friend ordered the most popular chicken dish. She enjoyed it and it definitely looked better than mine. I encourage everyone to try it! I loved the concept, space, and cleanliness, but need to go back and get a warm dish. read more

I am visiting Atlanta and a friend told me that this was the best food in all of ATL so of course I had to go! I love Mediterranean food and am not scared of menu items I do not recognize. I got the lamb laffa and we also ordered the minute steak bowl. At this place, you order at a counter and then pick up your food at the other end of it. You sit to eat in a general area of this market. There are many food vendors here. The lamb laffa was hands down the winner. It was like a burrito but with their flatbread. It was stuffed with tabouleh, friend eggplant, lamb, Israeli salad and more. It was BURSTING with flavor. The staff was nice and you could see that everything they were preparing was homemade and fresh. I will definitely be back! read more

If Todd Ginsberg makes it, I'm going to eat it. My favorite line that I told the staff at Yalla and Fred's was, "If Chef is making it and even serves it out of a dirty boot, I'm going to love it." I'm not not being a little bit facetious. After spending a good portion of my day at Krog for the opening, dinner was at Yalla! The line stacked up really fast and you could see just how many folks were excited to try it out for the first time. You step up to the left side of the counter to place your order and then work your way down the line and add what you'd like to your falafel pita, or whatever, and then continue to move down the line where you pay at the far right. Fairly simple and hopefully familiar to all. The menu is amazing and so simple. Here's what we had -- Falafel on pita - This just became arguably some of the best falafel I've had. It was fantastic. (Oh! Make sure you tell them to make it spicy. The sauce is delightful) Chicken Shawarma - Holy mess. It's such a wonderful time whenever there is shawarma. For those who do not know, shawarma is a certain collection of spices typically cured on chicken or lamb on a giant spinning spit. The good news? Chef Ginsberg's shawarma is freaking wonderful. Tender chicken, incredible flavor, and made even better with all of the incredible mise en place before you -- pickles, sauerkraut, hummus, babba, etc. Hummus and pita - Just fantastic. Wonderful, chewy pita, amazing hummus with great flavor and perfect texture. Dear sweet lord of flavor, do yourselves a favor and order one of the craft sodas. They are WONDERFUL. We had a pineapple one with herbs and one with anise and other flavors. They are so complex and nuanced. Definitely worth a shake! I can't wait to go back and try the laffa. It looked sooooo good. Welcome to the 'hood, Yalla. You are ever-so welcome. read more

I think this might be my favorite joint in KSM. I really love the build-your-own type vibe of this place, and it's very cool how they only have a glass barrier so you can watch the workers create the deliciousness. Yalla is a middle eastern food stall adjacent to Fred's Meat & Bread. They offer pita, laffa, and bowls. Whereas the pita is smallish and gets stuffed with the tasty goodies, the laffa is kind of like a middle eastern burrito. The bread is thinner and flatter and chewier, and the goodies get wrapped up in the flatbread then wrapped in foil. This option is the most expensive, but it is gigantic. Definitely enough to split between two people. I gravitate towards the bowls because I find them easier to eat and more appropriately portioned for me to eat by myself. I don't have a favorite -- everything is so good -- but I order the shwarma the most often. Spit roasted chicken, hummus, baba ganoush, Israeli salad & pickles, fried eggplant (my favorite part), harissa (kind of spicy, be careful), tahini, and amba -- all for $13? It's the perfect combo of temperatures and textures. Oh yeah. Add a tarragon lemonade and you are set! read more
Yalla's chicken shawarma is a must try! It is filled with so many spices and flavors. When you take a bite, your mouth will go on a flavor explosion experience and you won't know what hit ya! You can get the chicken shawarma in 3 ways and I opted for the laffa wrap because I saw it in a zagat episode and it looked amazing. The laffa wrap was big enough to share between two people or not (if you're really hungry). It was a little pricey, around $15, but I was willing to shell out the cash money because I was on a conference trip. If you're ever around Krog Market and wanna burn some cash, I'd definitely stop by Yalla's to try something new. read more

I discovered Yalla in the wonderours Krog Street market. There was a line at Yalla where as other places did not have a line. I took that as a sign. I got their special wrap, which was DELICIOUS! Making the wrap was a little time consuming, and I figured out why the line moved more slowly than the other places. Also there were a fair number of people waiting in line for their special homemade pinapple soda. I have no interest in extra sugar, but if that is your thing, it seemed that everyone else was enjoying it. I grabbed a beer from hop city and with my Yalla, had the most glorious of lunches! Definately check this place out! read more

Opening night for Yalla ATL in Krog Street Market. Winning with Shawarma, Falafel, Labne, and fresh Hummus. We were the first customers on opening night and the food did not disappoint. I've always thought Yalla's offerings were tasty, but now that I've actually been to Israel, I like them even more now that I know they're also authentic! A bit of their falafel, salatim, or fried eggplant here tastes just like the street food I ordered in Jerusalem. Yum! I appreciate that they've simplified their menu since opening, and now you basically pick your protein (falafel, chicken shwarma, lamb kabob, minute steak, etc) and your preparation (pita, laffa flatbread, or bowl) and the various toppings that go best with that protein are pre-selected and detailed on the menu for you. The bowl option is my favorite, because then I can convince myself my meal is low carb and thus healthy (please don't try and persuade me with the facts!). The lamb kabob is very flavorful, but it is actually ground lamb formed into balls rather than chunks of "whole" meat. My favorite bowl filling is the falafel, particularly with some extra fried eggplant on the side. Yalla is a little pricey, like all things inside of Krog, but still a good value when you look at the taste, quantity, and quality of the food. read more
A late night dinner at Yalla, thanks to raving Yelp reviews, had me excited. But, all it did was test my patience. After waiting over a half hour in a line when I literally only had 10 people in front of me was really irritating. The only reason why I stayed in line was because of the power of the Yelpers. haha The menu is up for all to see, but there's no description on the board. That meant the employees had to describe every item they offered to the customers. I mean literally every sauce, side, etc was explained. Maybe that's why it took so long? It was ridiculous. When I finally made it through to the end of the line, I saw there were menus that described their dishes....I seriously wanted to scream. There needs to be a better system! I ordered the Falafel Bowl. I love me some falafel and this was good falafel, but not the best I've ever had. I really enjoyed the falafel with their yogurt sauce, hummus and their jalapeno/ cilantro sauce. Other than the sauces, I basically got everything else they offered. Marinated mushrooms, cabbage, pickles, peppers, etc. And they weren't bad, but I don't see myself craving it again in the near future. The awesome thing about Yalla is that it offers speciality house-made sodas. I got the Lavender Lemon soda and it was good and refreshing. The prices are pretty inexpensive. A meal for one person will run you about $8-$15 on average depending what you get. Maybe I went on an off busy Saturday night. But, I'm most likely not going to be seeking out Yalla again. read more
