Decent place for a quick midtown lunch that's a little more elevated than take-out/sandwich places in the area. I got a falafel platter and it was just the right portions for lunch. Restaurant has comfortable seating and nice lighting, and staff were very nice. Saw a few business lunches happening at the tables next to us. I finally got to try out Agora Midtown! I had the spanakopita and the chicken kebab! The spanakopita was delicious, a different take on how it is usual made. The chicken kebabs were tender and juicy, and the garlic sauce it was served with was great! I do wish that the chicken kebab dish came with more vegetables. The food at the this midtown Mediterranean restaurant was delicious! We were served a complimentary appetizer of blended lentils with spices on romaine lettuce. The babaganoush appetizer was so flavorful and was so nice to spread on warm pita triangles. We were able to share the Adana kebab platter and Beyti kebab platter amongst 3 of us. Even though we were stuffed, we found room for dessert. One of the best baklava I have ever eaten. The service was impeccable with our server, Dilan. Cafe Agora looks completely different now. The place has been fully renovated, and it's so posh! The prices have gone up a bit, but the food is still just as delicious as I remember. Since the renovation, I've been back twice, and both visits were great. On my first visit, I ordered the Agora Mixed Grill ($28), which came with adana kebab, lamb kebab, chicken kebab, and lamb gyro, served with rice, salad, and pita. It's basically a dream plate for meat lovers. Everything was flavorful, and the meats were tender and juicy. On my second visit, I went for the Adana Kebab ($22), a grilled spicy ground lamb skewer seasoned with red bell peppers and also served with rice, salad, and pita. It was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice. Overall, the new atmosphere feels upscale without losing the welcoming vibe, and the food quality remains excellent. My boyfriend's mixed plate had a lamb chop, lamb kebab, chicken kebab, and Adana kebab (spicy ground lamb). The best was the lamb chop, which was pretty high quality and tender. Came for my sisters birthday and it was great from start to end. We ordered the babaghanoush, Greek potatoes, and spanakopita; let's just say they did not disappoint. We actually missed an order and when we advised they brought it out on the house no question. Our server was sure to explain everything well and give recommendations. For entrees we ordered the falafel, chicken kebob, branzino, and angora mixed grill they all had rice and a salad. All entrees were a nice portion and seasoned very well. I am so glad I gave this place a second try. This time around was fantastic. Everything we ate was delicious. The babaganoush was tasty and Smokey, the spanakopita was good although a bit salty, and the chicken kebab was seasoned beautifully and cooked to perfection. I enjoyed my cocktail as well. The mixed grill to my disappointment did not come with doner despite asking for it. Why call it "mixed" grill then?. Instead it was two servings of shish chicken. I could have used one of that and lamb doner. I also had to ask for pita which normally should come with. The meats were nice but could use more seasoning. Have been there for quite a few times since I came to Georgia Tech. The restaurant has two floors, the bar is located on the first floor and the dining room on the second. I usually say on the second floor as the view outside is beautiful. Usually, I order an entree, a side and some pita. Have tried many dishes and I would say all of them were good except for the chicken which was over grilled. For the meat, I enjoyed the lamb most: very standard medium temp., and flavorful. But please try other dishes besides meat! For example, the grilled Tulum cheese was gooey when hot and tasted like grits when cold, super interesting! The orzo and aromatic herb rice were also tasty if you like Mediterranean seasoning. Their Service good as well. Quick, friendly, and customer-oriented. Turkish mediterranean food at its best, there are soooo many good flavors here....the lamb is completely lamb with no added beef and the chicken is amazingly flavorful and tender. I ordered the lamb and chicken gyro platter, it was a lot of food on a bed of white rice accompanied by a balsamic vinegar dressed salad, and pita bread. I came here for a business lunch on a Thursday. I hadn't been to Cafe Agora since the revamp so I was excited to try it out! Inside, the decor is very chic and Mediterranean. The hostess immediately guided us to our table upstairs. Once seated, our waiter was very attentive and was very responsive, even as some of our party showed up later. We ordered a mezze platter and calamari to share. The calamari was yummy and the mezze platter was so good!! I loved the variety in dips. For lunch, I had the lamb and chicken gyro with a house salad. The house salad was simple but fine. The gyro though was delicious! This was my favorite restaurant while visiting Atlanta. My friend lives nearby and suggested it, so we walked (braved the cold and wind) 10 minutes to the restaurant. We didn't have reservations, and there was no wait. Apparently, the restaurant was closed for remodeling and recently opened. You can dine downstairs near the bar, but most of the seating was upstairs. The stairway tiles in between were such a beautiful print reminiscent of Greek or Turkish design. There's intimate 2- person seating and larger seating for groups of 4 or more. The teal velvet seating added to the charm. The place was dimly lit and cozy. Mary Lyle was our waitress. She was amazing and attentive. My friend and I ordered cocktails and various appetizers to try. Excellent price points from $7-9 with large portions, not to mention, delicious. I had the Gardenia cocktail with gin and cucumber that was refreshing. My friend ordered the Basilisk. I tried it, and it's green apple forward and also good. The appetizers we chose were hummus, babaganoush, shakshuka, and spanakopita. Unfortunately, they ran out of the babaganoush past 8 pm. Mary Lyle brought us a complimentary appetizer - lentil kofte. It was served on a bed of romaine. Hummus: Large portion. I loved the fried chickpeas on top. It's served with a full basket of pita. Spanakopita: 4 pieces and comes with a side salad with vinaigrette dressing. The spinach and feta was baked to perfection. Shakshuka: I absolutely loved this variation of shakshuka because it was eggplant based. It's typically tomato and egg. There was no egg, but it did have green peppers in a homemade tomato sauce. The eggplant and peppers were tender and paired nicely with the pita bread. Since the eggplant was cooked right, I'm sure the babaganoush was just as great. I had eaten a large, Southern dish for lunch, so I was getting full. My friend ordered the Turkish moussaka that came with eggplant and ground beef and was served with rice. I had some of it, and it is a filling entree. Again, it was a large portion. At the end of our meal, Mary Lyle surprised us with a free dessert - rice pudding. We killed it! There's a hint of cinnamon. It was creamy. I could taste the whipping cream or milk they used. When I go back to Atlanta, I'm coming here for my Mediterranean fix.
