Kyma was an unbelievable eveing of food, fun, and fellowship. Everything about the dinner was great! Kyma is located in Buckhead and has been there for years. Valet parking $3 with ease. Once I entered, I was greeted immediately and offered a glass of rose wine. I was alao asked if I wanted to be seated or wait for my guest. I waited. The wine was crisp, clean and tasty. I took a few pictures inside while I waited. Right at 6p, my guest arrived. We were seated and greeted by Brandon, our waiter. He shared the specials with us and asked did we want anthrax else to drink. ABSOLUTELY! I ordered the Daou Cabernet $18, full body red wine. Amazing taste. We ordered the squash blossoms stuffed with crab. OMG! Best ever. For my entree, I ordered the medium well lamb chops. 3-day marinated & grilled over an oak wood fire, Greek fries, "tzatziki" soooooo good $39. I also ordered a side of brussel sprouts $10. I was very surprised at the price of the sprouts, but they were very flavorful. With me still in birthday mode, I was gifted a dessert which I had no idea it was going to be complementary. I ordered the Blueberry Custard Pie- Blueberry custard pie and blueberry sauce. The restaurant was extremely nice on the inside and the staff was very professional and helpful. Kyma is a longstanding Greek restaurant that generally delivers. The portions have gotten smaller over time, but I still enjoy the food. Servers are excellent and friendly. In fact, it's a warm ambiance the second you step in...with the host/hostess sometimes offering some sparkling wine on the house. There are various spaces in the restaurant. You can go outside for some fresh air, to the bar area for a low key vibe, or a more traditional dining experience at a standard table. I have noticed that their prices listed on the menu are stale (to the detriment of the customer). On multiple occasions, we are surprised by a higher charge on the receipt than what was listed on the menu, but I let it go. Frustrating regardless. They really should update their menu instead of this nickel-and-dime approach....leaves a bad taste in our mouths. read more

Truly next-level... and I happened to have dined a St Cecilia two days prior, very well known for best seafood, but I felt Kyma quality ran circles around it Space: Don't judge Kyma by its dated exterior or slightly tacky Greek décor--the food is some of the absolute best in Atlanta. Honestly, if the restaurant group invested in a fresh exterior sign and a little paint, I'd bet the return in increased traffic would pay for itself many times over. Valet: $3--don't forget to bring cash for a tip. Food: * The guys did the tasting menu for two ($160pp)--well worth the price point and every single dish was spectacular. Standouts: Veal Sweetbreads, dorade "tsipoura", & lobster wedding rice. I also loved the calamari ribbons * The girls ordered a spread of apps, and honestly, every bite was 10/10. Service was quite good, then it went down hill. I had the lamb shank and our waiter said it was a great choice. It was simply NOT GOOD. It was barely edible, extremely sour, almost as if the meat had gone off or the cook spilled vinegar in the dish. I've dined at Buckhead Life restaurants since the late 80's/early 90's....Pano and Paul's, and Veni Vidi Vici were my go to spots, they come and gone....now there's Kyma. A seafood lovers Mecca. Upon entering, the decor takes you away to the Mediterranean. Lush blue hues seem so inviting and relaxing. The selection of fresh fish to choose from is amazing. The lamb chops are worth mentioning as well . So meaty and tasty. I tend to get the branzino or the loup de mer when available. Exceptional service is standard here. While the ambiance is nice, I found the menu to be lacking unless you want seafood. I came here on a work dinner and expected some traditional Mediterranean food but found the menu to be confusing. They have limited options unless you order for groups of 2 or 4. The meat was largely unseasoned and very bland in my opinion. The service was fantastic though. They also only have valet parking in their lot forcing you to park across the street. read more

Absolutely amazing! One of the best dining experiences that I've had for both food and service. I brought my husband here for his birthday and everything was perfect. Our server, Patrick, was awesome and very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The ambiance was nice and we were seated in the most perfect booth with a great view of the dining room. We tried a few different menu items and everything was superb. We ordered the octopus and lobster! We mentioned the sea bass ceviche and Patrick brought us some for a tasting...omg chef's kiss. You can't go wrong with any of these appetizers. For entrees, my husband ordered the whole fish (think it was pink snapper or something like that) and it was very good. The fish was mild and buttery. I had the lamb chops and they were seasoned very well although slightly overcooked for my liking. We had some really nice wines as well, don't remember the names of them but my martini was tasty! It's called the Morpheus. Highly recommend! It has gin, st.Germain,hibiscus, and lavender! I cannot wait to return to Kyma. read more

One of the best restaurants I've been to in Atlanta. I can't believe it took me so long to try it. My friend and I had just gotten back into town so we were coming straight from the airport, looking for somewhere to eat. We had a taste for Mediterranean food and found Kyma via Yelp. We arrived with no reservation and were accommodated without a problem. We sat on the patio, which is beautiful. The service was excellent. I started with the pork ribs, a very hearty appetizer. The ribs were delicious, dry rub and the meat fell off of the bone. We each had snapper, I had it filleted and my friend had the whole fish. Both were delicious. Throughout the evening we had wine which we enjoyed. I finished the evening with a delicious dessert trio. Again: an overall excellent experience, no complaints! read more

While I think Kyma is a good restaurant, I'm not as thrilled as I was before. Rather than order the "Aegean" prix fixe as we always have, if we return, we're better off going a la carte. Kyma's appetizers are wonderful. The prix fixe used to include four off the menu. Now it's down to two, and the portion for the three of us was skimpy -- likely the same as they'd serve two people. Aside from quantity, the lamb pie, pork ribs and calamari (which we ordered separately) are winners. To make up for the missing appetizers, they've added a Greek salad which was overloaded with tomatoes. (My preference would be to raise prices rather than impose cost-cutting measures.) To our surprise, the fish portion of our meal was huge. I posted a photo of the char (salmon) we got.... but there was another piece that I didn't photograph. Plenty for five people. (Couldn't they have done that with the appetizers?!) Dessert -- not included on the prix fixe -- was okay. The loukoumades (Greek donuts) not nearly as good as what we get in Astoria. Service is a little too quick, like they want to feed you and get you out. So I don't know -- there's good, there's bad. If you live locally, see what you think. read more

This was a great first time experience! We had a warm welcome by the hostess she could tell right away we weren't from Atlanta. She took her time to explain the menu and the decor of the restaurant. This was the perfect date night spot. Came here on a Tuesday evening and had an 8pm reservation. Overall, we had a good time, but nothing too spectacular. When we arrived we valeted ($3, and they take card), and were greeted upon entering. The ambiance is very Greece-inspired with artwork adorning the walls (and display of fish behind the hosts ) While we waited to be seated (cause we were early, I got a cocktail that was delicious that had jalapeño and Mezcal (two favorites of mine). We were seated in a large booth even tho it was only two of us and greeted right away (choice of sparking, still or bottled water). Food: we got the platter of dips (liked all except the olive based one because I don't like olives). And they substituted the eggplant dip for tzaziki since there was walnut purée in it (and I'm allergic). I ordered the lemon potatoes (so delicious, and wish they served more of it), and the kale that had the texture of collard greens with a heavy lemon oh Gant note. I enjoyed it but couldn't eat too much of the kale. My date got the beef tenderloin, and he said it was note medium than well, and wish it came with vegetables, but still enjoyed it. This 4 star review is due to the manager Bobby , saving our Galantine Celebration. Fairy called me to confirm our reservation and was so enthusiastic, and welcoming. After speaking with her I really was looking forward to enjoying the celebration. The decoration on our table was spectacular! Upon making our selections, we added the $40 Black truffle, which we NEVER received, and the sea bass, scallops , grilled octopus , After having to rely on OTHER servers and asking for our sever to get our needs addressed most out the evening, I finally asked for the manager. Manager Bobby was embarrassed and made an apology for the poor service we were receiving. He did try to make up for the poor service by providing us an extra dessert and appetizer. James our server became a little more attentive, he NEVER apologized for the poor service before it was brought to his attention. A good server would've said I'm sorry that I didn't bring your shaved truffles, I'm sorry that I didn't bring your potatoes, etc. etc. Next time I will ask for a different server. And yes, I will probably want to return here because I love this restaurant food and normally excellent service! Kyma not getting a Michelin mention is a crime. We dined here right before Michelin guide came out and the experience was amazing. Kyma has a tasting menu that is available Tuesday to Saturday. We came in on a Sunday but they were kind enough to accommodate the tasting menu for us! The tasting menu is $150 a person, designed for two people to enjoy together. The wine pairing is $65 per person. The Tasting Menu has 7 courses with an optional course that is $10 per person supplement. We didn't ask for this course but it was provided to us free of charge. Course 1: Scallop & Truffle. Wow we are starting with a bang! The first course comes with gently poached and chilled scallop tartare, piemonte truffle, and kataifi crunch. This tasted amazing. The scallops were soft, the crunch was crispy. The presentation was cute - it was on a bed of shaved ice and on top of a scallop shell. Course 2: Salmon & Caviar. ouzo cured Faroe Islands salmon, kaluga reserve caviar, yogurt creme fraiche, preserved lemon and pink peppercorns. It's served with homemade chips. The salmon was cured in house for 3 days. Amazing. Course 3: Grilled Octopus. If you thought the earlier courses were good, you've seen nothing yet. This was the best course so far. Similar to the grilled octopus on their standard menu, but this one comes with a tomato garlic emulsion and braised salsify. I don't eat octopus very often, not because I don't like it, but because it's so tricky to make. There's a fine line between undercooked octopus and overcooked, rubbery octopus. This was absolutely PERFECT. The octopus was extremely tender and the sauce was just so flavorful. Course 4: Lobster, Foie Gras, Truffle. Maine lobster, lemony Cretan wedding rice, ouzo poached foie gras, Piemonte summer truffle. I loved the lobster in this, and the taste of foie gras permeating through the rice. However, the summer truffle had very little taste. I don't know if we just got a "bad" truffle or if this truffle was cheaper than the other truffles I've had recently. I asked the server where they get their truffles from, they told me it's from Italy. Of course I still enjoyed it very much. I'm just more used to the almost overpowering taste of truffle. Course 5: Veal Sweetbreads ($10 supplement). This was the optional course I mentioned earlier. There was some sauteed potato garlic agnolotti, crushed walnuts, bites of veal and some scallions. The veal was SO JUICY. Course 6: Watermelon, Feta. This one is really cool. This was a palate cleanser for our next entree. It comes with organic watermelon, Vidalia onion, feta imported from Lesvos and herbs straight from Kyma's own garden. The balls of watermelon sorbet is homemade and serves as the salad dressing - if you let it melt first (which we failed at). The whole thing was so delicious. Course 7: Royale Dorade, Truffle. The Royale Dorade is a sea bream that is soft, flaky and delicious. The Royale Dorade was imported from Greece and salt crusted. After the fish was cooked, we were presented with the salt crusted fish (as pictured above) before taken away and fileted in the back. Then, the fish came back with olive oil and lemon sauce, with the bones removed. There was a miscommunication so the shaved truffles didn't arrive with it until we were half finished with the fish. They apologized to us profusely for their error. This course also came with braised kale which was delicious as well. This was a lot of food and due to the capers, it was a little salty but to be expected with capers. The truffles were the same ones as the fourth course so there wasn't much truffle flavor, but I liked it nonetheless. Course 8: Dessert Trio. The last course of the night, the Dessert Trio. We were each presented with 3 small desserts, a Greek donut with wild thyme honey and cinnamon, a rolled up baklava with pistachio ice cream (made in house), and blueberry custard pie with blueberry sorbet (made in house). All of the desserts were AMAZING. The wine pairing here was noticeably cheaper than other tasting menus we've had around town ($65/person here) and the accompanied pours were actually quite large. Each wine was briefly explained and introduced to us and the taste was pleasant, however, I was surprised all of the wines were white except for the dessert wine. This has always been a Buckhead institution in my eyes, but I was embarrassed recently when taking some guests that were visiting from out of town. One friend's steak, which was ordered medium-rare, came so overcooked that it was dry. This is unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. I won't be going back. read more

Since I can't go to Greece, Kyma it is! As a lover of food and travel, I'm always in the search for cuisine that will let my taste buds travel to another country. I heard that this place is known for the fresh fish so I had to definitely check it out. We did make reservations since it seems to book up pretty quick on the weekends. When we arrived there was complimentary valet parking provided. The outside of the restaurant was pretty gleeful with lights on the trees and well lit entrance. We were greeted by the lovely hostess and seated promptly. I didn't try any of the cocktails since I stuck to white wine. As for food we ordered a variety of plates. I recommend to do the tasting menu. I especially enjoyed the zucchini chips, pork ribs, and navy bean soup! Dress Code: Dress Up. Not a casual spot, meant more for date night or nice dinner. Came here for a birthday dinner and the service was pretty good. As I walked in the atmosphere was nice, I was greeted with a glass of wine. I was quickly led to my table as I was the last one out of the group to make it. As soon as I sat down the waiter made sure to quickly ask me what I wanted to drink and was able to give great recommendation. I started off with the octopus and it was really good, I'd give it a 7/10 only because of the price to amount ratio. For my entree I was disappointed because I had the lamb lasagna and it wasn't that great, the meat was overcooked and I would give it a 6/10. The drinks were pretty good and strong. I hope the owner reads this review. My husband and I dined at 6:45 on 1/8/26 and were seated next to a couple ( seem to be two bottles in)who appeared to be from out of town and were delighted to get to know their waitress. I know more than a diner celebrating a joyous occasion, my 60th birthday should know. The evening started with the staff not only talking to the diners for more than 30 minutes on several occasions back and forth and not caring enough to see that we and the other table next to us were disturbed endless personal conversation. When I brought it to the waitresses attention that we had enough of learning about her personal life for over 20 min while we are eating. She apologized to us and turned to her back and whispered to the outer town diners and appeared to not take it seriously for being called out for her unprofessional behavior. In addition, she picked up the outer town diners belongings and walked the wife to the door after the wife said to her husband, "the gay guy was rude to our waitress". Our dinner came and the manager arrived at the same time and asked us about our experience and as we explained the husband came to the table and was less than polite and we removed ourselves from the restaurant, tipped our waitress and left. I have lived in Atlanta for 30 years and have dined at the most expensive and not expensive restaurants and have never experienced such unprofessional and inexperienced staff. I hope the manager learns from my experience and speak to your staff and ask them what they could have done better to make our experience 5 star. Kyma had the best service I have experienced in a restaurant since Covid by far. Their servers are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and professional. We recently had dinner there as a group. We started with several apps including the famous bff pie (lamb pie they are known for that was my favorite), a variety of spreads with pita, the fried cheese, and eggplant stew, Everything was delicious and I loved how fresh the spreads were. Like I said the BFF pie is not to be missed. As i knew how much i loved the lamb pie, I ventured away from the fish and had the lamb shank and thought it was phenomenal. Fall off the bone and so flavorful. I tried my friends lamb pasta which was also excellent. Presentation wise the fish is the win as they bake it in salt and present it to you prior to it being done. Absolutely our one of our favorite restaurants. Definitely our favorite place for Greek cuisine. It starts with a great staff. All of them very Courteous and Professional. From the moment you call for a reservation all the way through the valet bringing you your car, they make you feel special. Service during the meal was smooth and enjoyable. The waiting staff has obviously been well trained. The cuisine is delicious and the portions will easily satisfy your appetite. The menu is full of Greek food delights. Almost too much to choose from., but everything we tried was amazing. During my , I needed to call and change my reservation. We ordered so much food: tuna tartare (unique twist with mushrooms), lobster (very tender and was able to have it made with rice flour), dips (cucumber to eat it with upon request, not just pita), lamb chops (so much flavor and the potatoes were the true winner), octopus (so tender and so much amazing flavor), sea bass (absolutely so tender and filling), and a number of other glutinous items that I did not try. They even brought out complimentary stuffed grape leaves). Very upscale dining and the decor is beautiful (especially the thematic broken plate mural on the wall).
