Yalla is one of my new Middle Eastern restaurant finds. In consecutive days, I've ordered the Lamb Kebob Pita and have come away impressed and filled. I'd strongly recommend that dish to any in the mood. Yalla is in Krog Street Market. I love Jeni's, Hop City and the free water. (And the location.) But I needed to have another quick place to get a meal as well. Yalla has a fresh take on Middle Eastern cuisine. The Lamb Kebob Pita is just what the name says. Lamb Kebob is roasted on a grill and then placed in a pita with fresh chopped vegetables. The pita has a homemade quality and the lamb is great. It's a bit too much food for one person and I'd recommend that you share it. The folks that work there have always been helpful and I've always enjoyed the meal. I would say that it's a bit pricey for $9, but I would not recommend the larger laffa (sp?) because it simply looks to be too much food. That said, this has wonderfully fresh ingredients, in a relative food desert for Middle Eastern cuisine. read more

Fabulous. I am a HUGE Mediterranean cuisine fan so when I took my walk around Krog Street Market and saw this enormous line forming outside of Yalla, I thought, "ok, there must be something to it". I like to try three standards things at all Mediterranean resto's: Falafel, Hummus and Babaganoush. All three were EXCELLENT! I will give the burrito looking thing a try next time. Their home made sodas (and I don't typically drink soda) was also good. I tried the lime cilantro. The line is long but don't let it deter you. This is the first place I tried at Krog St Market but something tells me I will keep returning every time. One star off for lack of seating. I realize this is not Yalla's fault but eh, I think some more seating around the place wouldn't hurt since they are so darn popular! read more

Yum!!! I've only had the laffa style meal, but it's amazing!! You pick a dish and then pick if you want it in a bowl, pita, or laffa - which is kind of like a naan-style wrap that's absolutely MASSIVE. They are very generous with the meat and topping and for $14-$15 for one laffa, there's definitely enough to share. Love Yalla. My only complaint is that I feel Krog Street Market is totally sterile and lacks atmosphere. I feel like I'm in a Sam's Club. But as long as I'm not looking for something cozy, Yalla is a great choice. read more

Yalla - Middle Eastern Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

The right taste of shawarma in Atlanta, although in chunks rather than slices. Huge portions and friendly staff. Wish they had a restaurant! read more

Yesssssss, it's a little pricy. And yessssss, you're eating in a food court. But give me a break, Atlanta: this is damn good falafel in a damn cool place. I had to try Yalla because I adore General Muir. It has a really different feel: General Muir is classy and airy and trendy. Yalla is upbeat and casual. I got the falafel pita (standard) and loved it. If you want a cheaper falafel, there are other places you can go. But part of what you're paying for is the fun of Krog St. Market. You can drink a Hop City beer with your falafel and sit outside and peoplewatch. It's yummy, and worth it. read more

First, if I'm going to stand in line for over 30 minutes to order in a place where it is impossible to find a table, it will only be because I love the people I'm with. I ordered the special falafel of the day, which came with pickled red cabbage, bitter lettuce, fennel, hummus, yogurt and a jalapeno sauce that nearly killed me. The falafels are good, but I couldn't stand the cabbage. I usually love anything pickled, but I found the cabbage to be inedible. Two other people in our group agreed. It was way too salty and it just had a yucky taste. The hummus is great. My boyfriend liked his shwarma pita. Another in our group ordered a custom prepared wrap that was about as big as my car. Another ordered a custom made falafel bowl. They all enjoyed their food. I'm getting old, so I'm not really into out of control crowds. People have to hover over tables in hopes that someone will be leaving. Most of the seating is community seating at huge tables. The noise level is out of control. I can't stand to have a meal with people in a place where I have to scream. read more

Great concept with marginal execution. Let me rephrase that: Darn good execution on the actual food (meats, dips, spreads, vegetables et. al). It is just poorly executed with a hard to grasp menu and ordering system, This sort of cuisine is different for some folks, so the line takes forever. I think they should offer pre determined flavor combos. Most people were ordering the lavash wraps (essentially like a squishy and better version of a tortilla) So why not create some wraps instead of everyone asking and pointing at what the 40 or so toppings are? Also, The amount of each topping placed in the wrap is abysmal, like a see-through schmear of hummus. The portion of meat seems generous though. Now they also switch around the daily offerings. On my visit they had lamb kebob or chicken schwarma only. Seems odd not to offer a wider selection, but maybe just being spoiled. My last comment is this: I paid $15 for essentially a cold burrito! Yes folks, a lamb wrap with a few toppings is $15! They don't heat up the lavash bread so it is cold. $15 dollars for a cold burrito with no plate, Wrapped in foil. $15! You get my point. With a bottled drink and tip I paid 20 bucks for lunch. The wrap comes with no sides. I was still hungry. I hope they work on the systems here. And the pricing. The food is tasty, So 3 stars, but just don't get sticker shock at the register. read more

We went to Yalla with our pals on Friday afternoon for lunch. They really love this place and we wanted to love it too, but as Israelis, we found it to be only OK. The first thing that annoyed us was confusion about ordering. One of us got the Sabich, which of course only ever comes as a sandwich, but since they have various options here (laffa, bowl, or sandwich), the woman had to redo the order when it was clarified that we did indeed want it as a traditional sandwich. So if a customer just says "Sabich", then why doesn't the cashier ask "laffa, sandwich, or bowl?" They just presume that you want the bowl because it's the most expensive? Customer service, please. We also got the salatim bowl. The sabich was great--nice pita, lots of textures and flavors. Kudos. The salatim bowl, while a really generous portion with a ton of veggies in it, was a bit bland. Most of the items were just hanging out in some vinegar before finding their way to the plate, and the dressings for the salatim themselves lacked vim. It did taste fresh. We'd be pretty surprised if Yalla was run by actual Israelis because the flavors just lacked the je ne sais quai that someone from the Motherland would know how to execute. It's more like this is a Mediterranean-themed stall that wants to serve Atlantans healthy food for a decent price. And that they do well. Side note: Krog Street Market is awesome! We walked on the beltline afterwards and it was beautiful. read more

Still dreaming about the falafel and shwarma laffas I enjoyed last weekend at Yalla KSM. I love that they have such a selection of toppings and sauces, and everything is so fresh. The menu is pretty easy to understand, but I wish they would put a brief description next to some of the sauces, etc. I think the staff is going to get tired of describing everything! Or maybe everyone but me knows the names of mediterranean toppings. I would definitely recommend a laffa, but I can't wait to return and try a pita or bowl.. and a homemade soda! read more

Yalla is one of the best values in Krog Street Market, as the prices are reasonable, food is delicious, and portions are large. I see people ordering the slightly more expensive, larger portioned laffas (like a greek burrito) all the time - but for me the pita plus a side is usually plenty of food. Basically you can think of this place as a Greek Moe's, although the quality of food and flavor is far above Moe's. I'm a big fan of the falafel pita here. The bowls are also good - they coat the bottom of the bowl in baba ganoush and hummus, then load in the veggies and meat, so you have a nice mix as you eat. The line here goes fast and the food comes out quickly. This is one of my go-to spots in Krog Street Market. Definitely check it out. read more

I loooveee Mediterranean food. I will also give almost any restaurant a second chance. I will NOT do the same for Yalla. Just horrendous. We went really early on (the day before Thanksgiving, actually), and it was the only place open. I had the eggplant pita thing. As my date said, "it was poorly curated." Nothing was mixed inside. The flavors didn't go that well. He felt the same way about his schwarma wrap. Not much to say beyond that. Tagline: not well curated. Plus, ordering was unnecessarily stressful and elongated. The girl in front was bouncing around from job to job. You can't see the toppings when you order, which I think is a poor setup. It's unclear what you get to add toppings to and when. AND THEN you check out and it's hella expensive. I mean, really? Bad and expensive? No thanks. My date also tried a soda. Similarly "poorly curated." It was NOT well mixed at all. And I just didn't like the flavor. So close to my house. Such a shame. Sorry, Yalla. Never gonna be back. read more

Ordered the chicken shawarma...one of the biggest mistakes I've made this summer. They were all out of the chopped salad topping, was told to add mushrooms. Mushrooms were ice cold, chicken was slathered in stomach lining destroying dressing, and the bread was something out of the wonder bread aisle at Walmart. On top of all this, a cup of water was a dollar (mind you it's national hydration day today). Safe to say this was my first and last time at Yalla! read more

I loved this experience but am interested to see how the concept will work in the long run. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful in guiding customers through the complicated menu. They were also great at crafting something delicious when you found yourself overwhelmed at all of the choices. Everyone was really friendly and the food was delicious. Yalla is a really fun dining experience if you are willing to try something new. New flavors, new composition. It was like a mediterranean burrito which is basically my dream come true. It's not cheap for a walk up food stand. Great to try but not sure people will come again and again due to the price. Either way, give it a shot! I really appreciate restaurants that take a risk and try something new. It was the little details (wooden sporks, imaginative handmade sodas, great service) that made the whole experience great. Yalla! read more

Excellent quick service option in Krog Street Market. If you're looking for a quicker, lower cost food option while hanging out at Hop City, this is definitely your spot. I LOVE falafal, schwarma, hummus, Israeli salad ... essentially anything you could get in Israel. This place serves it up perfectly! I love how they customize everything, and the employees have always been super nice and welcoming. How this normally works for me: meet up with a friend for a beer at Hop City, walk over to Yalla to get food, then walk back for a second beer while eating said food. It's a great casual option! read more

I don't know what happened.... While they were nice, the food I had was ridden with salt. It made me and my friend's mouths crinkle with each bite. I had the lamb bowl while she had the steak falla. Even the cookies were salty..... Who made you so salty, Yalla? Who? read more

Seriously, we are obsessed with this place. So much so that every time we come to Krog Street Market we hardly get to try any of the other awesome food joints because the Chicken Platter here is SUCH a delight. I honestly have no idea what it's comprised of as there are just so many beautiful flavors mixed in, but I will say that it is spicy, chicken is tasty, and that hummus, darling. TO DIE FOR. We also have tried the chicken laffa (very popular and heavy heavy heavy) as well as the chicken pita, which I love. Every time I eat here I feel like I've gotten an amazingly hearty meal that doesn't make the scale tip over to the fatass zone the next day. That's hard to do, guys. Love it. The prices are reasonable (laffa $12 and pita with chicken $8) and the people who work here are nice and patient. Great place. read more

I am already addicted to Fred's Meat and Bread, and I felt a little disloyal for going to Yalla today, but then I remembered it is the same owner and figured they would not mind! :) Yalla is delicious! I think they have worked out some of the service kinks that people have talked about in previous reviews. The staff was very nice and helpful. It took a little time to get our food because the Shawarma was cooking but we did not mind. It is fun to people watch and take in the Krog Street Market while waiting. My husband and I both got the Shawarma platter. The platter is really a bowl. It was sooooo delicious! You get to pick your own extras to put in your bowl and then the chicken Shawarma went on top. There are so many 'toppings' to choose from. We got our food to go and when we got home we realized the platter did not come with pita bread or some of the delicious looking Laffa that we saw. If we had known we would have ordered some on the side to dip into the leftover deliciousness at the bottom of our bowls! Regarding the price, yes, we paid $28 for 2 Shawarma platters. In my opinion, it is on par for the market in general. And you really are paying for freshness! Because it was extremely fresh and more delicious because of the freshness! I can't wait to go back and try one of the Laffas! read more

Attitude and mediocre food. Took forever to get our food and then when my wife realized 3 bites in that they forgot to put falafel in her Laffa the woman at counter said, "It took you half the Laffa to realize it". Drop the F'ing attitude please. You took forever to make it and then you made it wrong and you give us attitude? Get your stuff together and then remember how to treat customers. Honestly, it's a broader Atl problem. We've gotten a ton of hostess attitude at Superica too. read more

I went to ATL recently and stopped by at Krog Market. There's plenty of good food options but I was craving middle eastern and Yalla seemed to have a good selection. I am vegetarian and usually I get some sort of Falafel in a pita with various fillings. However, I saw the sebich option which is basically fried eggplant, humus, hard boiled egg, and other type of sauce filled in a fluffy pita. This hands down has to be the BEST THING I've ever eaten! The pita was so soft and fluffy, just really flesh and the fried eggplant had so much flavor coupled with the hard boiled egg and the sauces it was pure heaven. If im back at Krog, i'd head straight to Yalla! read more

If you're craving a Falafel, this is where you go! I've NEVER had a better one- EXCEPT for when this place first opened. They used to use some sort of pickled cabbage/slaw (something) that added soo much punch to the flavor. Other than that, would be 5 star :) Veggie friendly and a fun spot to grab beers at Krog Street. If your visiting Krog Street is a great place tooth a group- lots of options and fun and interesting things todo. AND the Beltline is right there too! read more

Had the chicken shawarma in a pita and it was delicious and very filling. They stuffed it to the max! Recommend stopping by if you're at KSM. read more

Iv been eating here for years but the last year has been such a disappointment. The portion sizes are small now and the prices have gone up. The pita bread iv been receiving lately is obviously from the day before and tastes stale. I'm really disappointed. Yalla was once my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. read more

When I am at Krog Street market I can never decide between Yalla or Fred's meat and bread. If I'm in the mood for falafel, pickled vegetables, hummus, labneh then it's Yalla all the way! all of their food is delicious. The lamb is super tender. The falafel is crunchy and delicious. Try one of their signatures sodas for fun drink. read more

I have been to Krog Street Market many times and always went to the other vendors because I didn't want to miss out on all of their goodies. Turns out I was missing all along! I finally tried Yalla when, restricted by the whole30 diet, I had to find an option that would be compliant with the rules. I got the chicken shawarma bowl without the hummus, and it was some of the best street food / fast food I've ever had. The meet was incredibly tender, the fried eggplants reminded me of my favorite fried green tomatoes, and the baba ghanouj was perfect. The staff, too, was friendly, and I appreciated the girl running the cash register and how helpful she was with all of my ingredient questions. The food here was absolutely delicious, and I can't wait to go back! Don't miss out like I did! Yalla is my top place for dinner in KSM, now that I've seen the light. read more

Been meaning to checkout The Canteen for a while and so glad to have finally made it here! YALLA WAS OUTSTANDING! My first taste of a pita falafel was in Paris. I know what you must be thinking, why in the world would you eat a falafel in the land of truffles, baguettes, and foie gras? Well, this wasn't just any falafel place, this was L'As du Fallafel - one of the best places for falafel in all of Paris. There was always a line and my mind was blown away by the culinary heights that a pita stuffed with falafels could be. This wasn't your ordinary limpy and soggy pita, no, this was a culinary masterpiece of salt, tangy, hot, pickled... So I was super excited to try Yalla and all of its exotic spices and accoutrements. The variety with which you can stuff your pita can be overwhelming and I would advise the "less is more mantra" here. Like a kid in a candy shop, I picked pickled veggie after pickled veggie until my poor pita was overflowing with muddle flavors. Next time, I think my strategy will be to get a bowl so that all of the vegetables and sauces can shine in its single glory. The wraps are also another good option and big enough for two people. Yalla also has homemade sodas and we had the strawberry vanilla flavor which wasn't too sweet. Super happy to see a "real" falafel place finally in Atlanta. read more

Had a Falafel on a Laffa- a great big piece of flatbread. It was great! It was also $12. There was a smaller cheaper pita for $6, but the Laffa was big enough for my wife and I to split. All the toppings were fresh and delicious. Also had a pickle plate. Also great. I I'm sure there might be plenty of cheaper Falafels in town- but the Krog market is a pretty cool place to go. I recommend it. While I was there went to Spotted Trotter and got some meats and a coffee from Little Tart. It was a fun thing to do on a Sunday. Glad the market is there now instead of a crumbling TV sound stage. read more

A better Chipotle Greek style. I am tired of burritos, it's about time places like these and Nan Stop pop up everywhere

The good: the service was great and the line wasn't too long when I went on a Monday evening! The bad: My order came with an incredible amount of cream-based sauce that was just too heavy for my liking. As a Mediterranean restaurant, I would have appreciated there to be more acidity to cut through the heaviness. read more

Baba ganoush! That's all I have to say. Delicious and very fresh food. I got this as well as the falafel which was served on a bed of radish and yogurt, which was very good. The baba was very good with a hefty amount of hummus. I completely misjudged the amount of food I was getting and left stuffed. The falafel was good. It wasn't the best I've had but it tasted very fresh and good. Yalla has great flavor and at a good price too. read more

Gosh the food is soo good here. The chef really does an amazing job with her pickles. They have all types of pickled veggies that are incredibly flavorful. Like other reviews mentioned, the lines get a little long sometimes but the wait it worth it. Another note is that it's a little pricey as well but I suppose I don't mind supporting local food. Would definitely have 5 stars if it moved through the lines quicker and lowered prices a buck! read more

This place has one of the best tasting Falafels that I've had in a long time. All the ingredients were fresh and had so much flavor. I will say it was a little confusing at first because people were just scrambling everywhere and no one really took charge behind the counter to point everyone in the right direction because the menu isn't that clear if its your first time. It was busy so I'll give them that, but all of this really didn't matter once you got the food though because it was delicious. I will say it was a little bit more pricey than I expected due to the portion size, but still overall not bad. People really hyped up the sodas though because they sucked to me. Also make sure to look up the menu before hand or else you'll spend half the time there asking questions and causing the line to get longer. read more

Popped down to Krog Street Market to graze and snatched up a Lamb Kabob Bowl. As you can see from the photo this bowl had a little of everything. Fried Eggplant, mixed greens, cilantro, red tomatoes, boba ganoush, zhug, ranch labri and just plain old GOODNESS. Each component on it's on was great but when you add all the possible taste combinations...it is literally a different flavor in every bite. Good to last spoonful, $15 and I will be back. Parking is challenging but the large community tables and outdoor heated patio are super cool read more

This was my first foray into the Krog street market. I liked it. There is a large selection and lots of toppings. Vegan to meat eater cravings will be satisfied Go for the burrito like thing instead of the pita. It's awesome, I just can't remember the name of it. Lots of flavor and lots of delicious. Ok, so it might be good in the future, but needs work. My wrap was good, but kind of a mistake since I am pretty sure the lady mixed my order up with my girlfriend's. Her wrap was lacking any sort of flavor.... Basically tastes like bland egg. All things aside, 28 bucks for 2 wraps and one measly drink (no booze!)? Seriously, this is in a glorified food court. Maybe I accidentally ordered a few of those $2 sauces. On the plus side, the place a had good vibes and cool tile. Has anyone been to the place next door? It looks cool.
