Have been with the company for 5 years. Every year, it gets harder to schedule the annual inspection. Tried to schedule my annual inspection and the company is 7 months out in scheduling which is well past the renewal contract date. There attitude is "oh well, should have scheduled when you first renewed". Starting to question too if the orange oil actually works. Have been with Xtermite for 5 years and we always have termites. After a run in with a competing termite company, Neecole brought my trust in others back. It's funny how one dishonest person can make you question everyone's intentions. Neecole was honest, straightforward, and reliable. He knew we were on a deadline and gave us a straight up assessment. We needed clearance for a VA loan and he got us answers and fast. I'm no expert, so when it comes to making decisions that can be pricy, you need an honest team that's going to do a great job and not nickel and dime you. The orange oil didn't work. We've had to call Extermite back for the exact same spots repeatedly. It is very hard to get an appointment if you need one right away. We had the house inspected because we were selling it. Extermite noticed termite activity and treated it. Two weeks following the treatment, an independent inspector came and found live termite activity in the areas that were treated by Extermite. Now that we're moving, Extermite will not refund any of the money we spent on our contract for the year. They said it "stays with the property". How unfair is that? Money dumped into a contract where the service never even worked. I would never do this again. I will advise anyone who asks me, not to ever deal with this company and its worthless expensive services. read more

Orange oil treatment does NOT work!! Please don't waste your money and possible structure damage to your home or condo building. I live in a 23 unit condo building and was told my Xtermite orange oil treatment would keep the termite from doing damage to our building. We have had a yearly contract with them for the last 4 years. Every year when it gets hot outside the termites swarm in some units and balconies. The company has told us every year the orange oil will get rid of them to be patient. We have hired a real termite fumigator and we are tenting the building. XTERMITE ORANGE OIL IS A RIP OFF!!! I gave this company a 2 star rating because the rep who came out to do the initial inspection took his time and was very friendly and informative about what he was doing. I was very disappointed to hear that I had heavy infestation and that it would cost over $4,000.00. I told him that It would cost less to tent the whole house. (I have a 2600 sq ft 2 story home). Needless to say, I feel that cost is very steep and no real guarantee that the termites wouldn't just relocate to the area where it wasn't treated. Punching holes all over your house and then giving me a referral to a person who can fix this on my dime tells me I need to move on. You have to do a lot of research before you sign on the dotted line because some companies will take advantage of you depending on your location/zip code. Thanks but no thanks to this one! read more

I have renewed my yearly service with XTermite in San Diego for over 15 years and generally call once during in the summer. Today after finding droppings on the balcony, I called to make an appointment and was told that they are busy and it could not be scheduled until 8 weeks. Neecole came out and inspected my mom's house thoroughly. He explained everything and gave us our pricing options. After getting another quote from another company, we decided to go with them. On the day of the job, the two technicians, Michael and Jayden did a great job completing the 5 hour job. My mom and I are really happy we went with Xtermite. Absolutely worthless. No one wants to leave their house for three days while it gets fumigated, and these guys take advantage of people's fears to sell a worthless service. They treated my house- less than three months later I had a swarm of termites again. And so they came back to "retreat." When they were done, there wasn't even a whiff of orange oil in the house. I asked them how this could be- they replied that "it was a spot treatment." Uh- how did you know which "spot" to treat? "Blah blah we treated where you said the swarm was." 6 months later- another swarm. A year later- another swarm, this time bigger. So I called and asked them to come out and do a "real" re-treatment to address the fact that there was no improvement. "Uh- you are still under warranty but your warranty expires in a few weeks and we are really busy right now and probably won't be able to get to you." But-wait- I called you while under warranty- how can you not honor it?? "We are really busy now- it's termite "season"- that's our policy sorry. In short: 1. It doesn't work 2. Their retreatments are a joke. 2. The warranty is worthless (as are all warranties for services that don't do anything)- if you call they say they're too busy to get to you before the warranty expires. It's always termite season (in your house) with these guys. read more

Exceptional Service. I rarely offer reviews except for very deserving work. I was extremely pleased with the service of Xtermite from inspection to completion of work. I called Xtermite for an inspection and was put on schedule within 5 working days. Ricardo arrived on time and was very thorough in his inspection of both the exterior and attic spaces of our home. His recommendation were consistent with what we suspected as problem areas. Our attic is only a crawl space. Yet Ricardo was able to find area the required attention in very tight spaces. We agreed to have work done by Xtermite and a crew was on site two days later. Desman was the lead with his crew. He was not only competent in his work but very personable. He explained the work to be done and was not hesitant to get into the far reaches of the attic. I discussed previous Yelp reviews with Desmond before he started and he more than answered my questions and reservations regarding the reviews. My expectations are realistic of the service about to be performed. I also recognized the difference between an inspection and spot treatment on call back if necessary. I would recommend Desman and his crew to do the work. He was thorough, neat, and professional through out the process. read more

I'm a day late and a dollar short writing this review. We had this company four or five years ago, they never went into the garage to treat. We had termites from the walls of the garage go up and into two bedrooms eating holes in the drywall. Also the destruction Xtermite caused from injecting the orange oil into the wood which the salesman never talked about in his sales pitch. His sales pitch was about not having to move out, sounded good to us since we have been tented before. When we saw all the wood damage, I called them, all I got was the termites did it. I said I know but you need to tell people the possible damage that could happen. One of their techs gave us a name of a person that could fix the damage. We had him out to give us a quote, here's the quote, $14,000 to fix all the wood and replace wood. It needed to be done, we found a company that did all the work for $7,300.00. So $3,000.00 to XTermite, so the total was $10,300.00 to get rid of termites their way. The reason this has been a sore spot lately, we were just fumigated two weeks ago, we're now having a new roof put on. I have never seen so much termite dropping coming from the roof, it was horrible. Xtermite can't do your roof and those little buggers are there too. As painful as it is to have tenting, it's the only way to go, you kill them all. We would have saved a lot of money. Never ever would I use XTermite again. read more

This review is based on a first impression after contacting Xtermite for a free inspection and estimate earlier this month. Xtermite was able to schedule someone to come out on a Saturday morning and they confirmed the appointment the day before. Ricardo "Ricky" Santacruz, sales inspector called on the day of the appointment to let me know he was on his way. He arrived promptly, performed a full inspection outside our home and inside the attic, informed us of his findings and recommendations, and provided us with a written price quote. Within a week we received a packet in the mail with the detailed inspection report. Ricky was very professional, and courteous, and even had a great sense of humor. We haven't moved forward yet with the treatment due to the cost is more than tent fumigation for our particular situation. However, as soon as we are ready, Xtermite is our company of choice. I was under warranty for 2 years and then had another inspection with another company and they told me I have extensive termite damage that had been there for WAY over 2 years and now I need to tent at $2000+. We paid for annual service and when technician arrived he didn't check the entire home. We notified customer service and respectfully requested they send someone to check the remainder of the house. First response from company was to disagree with what we observed. We asked for a follow up from management and have received nothing. We won't be using them again. They could easily have sent someone to inspect the portion they missed the first time. They want the money but do not want to provide a thorough service. Xtermite service is pleasant, not intrusive, and smells good but it's worthless and a waste of money. It's only as good as their ability to find every single infestation and that ability is not necessarily great. They don't treat every inch of your house, they just treat where they think the termites are and it's possible for them to miss plenty. We thought we would try them because they don't tent. We regret it now because there were still termites after the warrantee period. With tenting, you're assured of getting everything in one shot and that's what we will do next time. read more

We used this company. After treating it, there were a lot of open holes remaining in the wood that they said they would plug up. We continued to have excessive termite droppings in one place in particular. We called and they said to give it a month to work. I requested that someone call me back as it appeared that they did not treat that spot. No one called back. It's a month later. We still have a lot of daily evidence of termite droppings . Bryan performed all the service work today and did professional quality work! I can call with any follow up work needed now at no additional cost for a couple years. However I have two complaints filed with DCA; one is for the contract value added component of which you have no obligation to conduct the annual inspections unless contacted. (Actually this works out well for the company since I am sure some annual inspection are forefitted for lack of customer followup) - easy money yes? This clause or requirement is legal in California however it is not customer friendly; and two for putting up my private personal information regarding our business transaction. You could have responded with general company policy and general contract language but instead you told everything about our business interaction - that is an invasion of privacy. Finally, your guys arrived at about 8:00 am and left at 12:30 PM total time of actual working (not out at the trucks) about 1.5 hours. I believe there were four of them. Regardless it was ineffective. I am having to have the house tented so we get "all" the termites in "all" the areas. The public needs to understand - you guys just spot treat. They claim that they are not responsible for any damages that they cause. Read the contract and cross out the part that says they can drill into your floor or into concrete but are not responsible if they hit wiring or plumbing. In my case they drilled into concrete within inches where wires are obvious, and they caused short circuits in my wiring. Now I need to hire an electrician. No common sense. No integrity. read more

My complaint: There is currently a minimum 2-3 month wait between an appointment request and the actual annual home inspection for ongoing clients. I am an 8-year client with this company. I don't like writing bad reviews, because I know there are hard working people at Xtermite, but I think it's needed in this case. Xtermite seems to be a victim of it's own success. I'm guessing new clients get priority on the inspection schedule...otherwise, who would sign up after such a long wait? But for an ongoing client, there is currently a 2-3 month delay between request and the actual home inspection. The maintenance agreement requires an annual fee payment on the anniversary date of your first inspection. My payment was due/paid in August 2016, I had to reschedule once due to an unexpected conflict. At this point, I won't get an inspection until April 2017. That's an 8-month delay and 18 months between annual inspections! Obviously, homeowners want those inspection spaced 12 months apart. Xtermite should be able to provide timely service. The company is not willing to adjust my schedule...I asked, they declined. So after this next inspection, I will move to another company using the orange oil technology. PS. To be fair, Xtermite is fairly quick (within 2 weeks) to get a technician out when you find termite droppings/damage between annual inspections and need spot treatment, no problem there (thus the 2 stars). read more

I was having issued with getting a treatment after a treatment a month ago for a swarm in one bedroom. I was on call several times and then finally made an appointment to make sure the treatment was done. Someone had canceled my appointment so I was upset since I was home waiting for the technicians. Well, I was able to connect with their service manager, Gary Paul, and he set it all to rights and had two technicians come the same day. What a great experience. I contacted Xtermite two years ago and got a quote from David. David took his time and was extremely thorough in his findings. Life got busy and I finally got around to setting up a treatment date. I messaged David saying I was ready (2 days ago). He wrote me back saying that he could have a guy out on Saturday (today). I was so surprised at how quick they were able to come out. I got a phone call this morning from one of the workers letting me know he was on his way. The termite inspector did a very poor job in testing my house for termites and failed to test the exterior roof rafters. Other companies, in contrast, tested every roof rafter and found numerous spots of termite infestation. This person from Xtermite seem to indicate that termite infestation was low and was proven to be wrong. I would not use this company at all. read more

PLEASE don't fall for the orange oil scam. I've been in real estate property management for over 30 years. Orange oil will not eliminate all the termites in the home, they will just move to untreated areas, unfortunately tenting is still the best way to go, kills everything ! Well worth two days of inconvenience. I have personally replaced thousands of dollars worth of wood, stairs, railings,fascia, beams, posts, roof sheeting. Save your money.. this company is great until you sign a contract! Then there is consistently a 5-6 week delay in getting them to come out when you have an infestation. By the time they get here, the termites are long gone and the damage has been done. We have little termite holes all over our built in bookcases and love seats. If they are consistently so booked, they need to stop being so cheap and hire more workers. At the end of the first year of our 2 year contract, I called in early June for an annual inspection ( which was supposed to take place in July) I was told that it could not be scheduled until December!
