It makes me sad to write this review because I had no issues with Homeshield until a few months ago. I have been a customer of Homeshield for years and have had various services - wood rot treatment, monthly pest and rodent service, rodent exclusion treatment. My parents also have Homeshield service their home because of my referral. I want to make it clear that the technicians who service my house continue to be great. My usual technician is Julio and he's always super friendly, on time, and does a great job. My issues in the last few months pertain only to the call center and billing. In April I was charged for my monthly service even though no technician came out to service my house. I called Homeshield to let them know and they indicated I would not be charged for June. When June came, I was still charged for June so I had to call back to ask once again for money back. The call center indicated that I called too late before they processed the payment so the charge would fall off my July billing. At the beginning of July I called Homeshield to schedule my monthly treatment because I was going to be out of town. I informed the call center that I was going to be out of town and that was the reason for me scheduling my monthly service. The call center was able to get my monthly pest service schedule before I left, the call center did not indicate that I had a separate rodent treatment schedule for July 24. I left the country and while on my trip I got a text that my house would be serviced on July 24. I was pretty confused because I thought I had my house serviced and I even told the call center I would be out of town. Due to the 9 hour time difference I had to tell my brother to call Homeshield to cancel the appointment. On July 22, my brother informed me that he canceled my appointment and notified Homeshield that I would call to reschedule. On July 24, I got a text from the technician that he was about 30 minutes from my house to perform the service. I had to respond via text that I had cancelled my appointment and apologize that the call center did not inform him that I had cancelled. I am not too sure what is causing the breakdown in communication but I honestly feel terrible for these technicians not being informed of things. It also doesn't sit right with me that I have to apologize to the technician not for anything I did, but for the breakdown in communication caused directly by the call center. I also am not sure what is happening with the scheduling since before the no show incident in April I had technicians service my house every single month without issue. Update: Bryana from Homeshield called me on August 5 to learn more about the breakdown in billing, communication, and scheduling. She was really friendly, professional, and apologetic. I felt like she was not calling simply for me to fix my review but actually listened and wanted to make sure that as a customer I felt that things were remedied. She thoroughly explained my services and what Homeshield was going to do to help make everything right. She also informed me that she was going to reach out to my dad to make sure his experience as a customer was great. Overall, I am really happy with how Homeshield handled remedying the situation to ensure that I continued to receive better services in regards to billing and scheduling. read more

Just found out today that I have been continuing to be charged for services that are not rendered. We're in the middle of a huge landscape upgrade and didn't need any service for past couple of months. I had mentioned to Darla to skip service because of this, and will resume when ready. But just noticed that I have been continued to be auto charged ($87 each time) good thing I looked as I was getting ripped off. Very surprised of this as I'd mentioned this for multiple months to get ahead of this situation and give HomeShield as much communication as possible. It is crappy feeling to have my money taken like that I called in and spoke with Luca and he was helpful in telling me that I'll get credited back for 2 months, and will have CC on hold so not charged. That made me feel good. He said I'd get confirmation email in a few minutes but it's been nearly 2 hours and no email and my CC still showing no credit/refund. They are happy to auto charge me, but cannot accommodate their current customers with the ability to pause service, causing additional headache for me I'll see if there is anything worth updating if/when it happens. otherwise will go straight to credit card company and dispute charges...I don't have time to keep going back to HomeShield to check if they did their work right Still considering if I will continue with HomeShield once I need service again; but I figure I'll have better choice when that time comes UPDATE: after reading other review of not being able to cancel service, I called right back and spoke with Patricia. I asked to cancel service, but she could not do so and had to transfer me to other department and ask me to hold for "2 minutes". After 2 minutes, she came back on saying no one could talk to me to cancel. Seriously?? I asked if I can get her my verbal authorization to relay my cancel message to someone. No can do, so I have to wait for someone to call me back so I can say "CANCEL" really frustrated now... read more

Never heard any company who do not want to get your business if you do not have an email address. After publishing above review. This service was AMAZING! We've used another pest control company in the past and the service is night and day! They came out, made a thorough inspection and then provided an estimate. Great service by Marco, he came at 830ish on 7/10/26. He educated me on what to expect and was very nice. He put bait out, he sprayed the perimeter of the house. Overall excellent service. This guy took his time dewebbing, spraying, he found two large wasp nests and sprayed them. He identified the type of pest we had. Awesome smile, upbeat, ready to work. Absolutely horrifying experience. We had an urgent ant issue and couldn't get in touch with anyone to address it. Called the 5 different numbers we've collected over the course of time to get in touch with the office and was on hold for 8-15 minutes each time with the horrible hold music, then the system would hang up on me. I texted our regular tech as well but never received a response. Once I finally got a call back from the office, days after trying, I was told the next day available was about a week out. Come to find out from a rep, our regular tech has not been with the company for months (which explains why the service has seemed to decrease in quality lately, leading to more ants) but no one shared that information with me or my husband. They were just sending random new faces to our home. After being infested with ants for days, a young lady finally comes to service us. She was very knowledgeable and worked with us servicing each crack inside and out. While speaking with her I shared that I hoped she was our new tech moving forward. She then let me know that even though she just started with the company, she was submitting her resignation and was unsure who would be taking over our account. This is deeply concerning and I cannot keep having new faces pop up at my property without advance notice. This is where me and my children live and having a company who cannot seem to keep their employees for more than a few weeks or at a consistent basis is concerning and creates worries surrounding security for the property as these people are strangers. I'm unsure of what Homeshield does to their employees to make them leave, but I want no parts with the inconsistency or possible mistreatment of these technicians. Because of this, my husband will be calling to cancel services soon. We need a company that upholds integrity inside and outside the office. read more

Friendly warning: If you sign up for the annual service it will auto-renew after a year and you can't cancel online. And you will have to call to cancel, pay a $150 charge for early cancellation, and they will use salesy tactics to try to keep you on and paying. The service itself was good though, and everyone is very professional. I just can't recommend them because of the negative cancellation experience. This would have been 5 stars otherwise. read more

We called them three times using the choices in the telephone menu as current customers, no person answered. We left messages and nobody called us. I tried to call again two times and when I selected new customer in the menu, a person answered us right away. The scheduler do not coordinate with their thechician. We got scheduled on a Friday to do the inspection and treatment but no technician showed up. When I called, I chose the new customer menu to make sure a person will answer, I was told the schedule was changed from May 29 to June1. Nobody sent us message that it was re scheduled. We only found out when I called. Their pricing is also expensive. I found out from my friend that ther pest control do the following visits every two months. But Home Shield do it only every quarterly and their price for initial treatment is a lot expensive even with the discount. There is a penalty if we discontinued the subscription in less than a year. I will not get their service again. I get their service because of their reviews. That is not accurate reviews. read more

We've used Homeshield for a couple of years now to get regularly scheduled pest treatments. I love that their pesticides are pet friendly, which was the main reason we picked them. We get them for whenever we have pests we visibly see and are concerned for infestations, and even when we don't and just want preventative measures. Their technicians have been amazingly helpful--our latest technician was Matt and he was so accommodating despite a scheduling issue (more on that in a bit) and explained how our recent issue with ants would get fixed. I've loved every technician we've had as they've been respectful and treatments have been effective. The one star I'd take off now years later despite keeping them for years is for the office folks. Any time we've called to get support with scheduling, we just haven't had the best experiences. Our latest one was after we recently moved. We called to change our address and get an initial service at our new home, and despite us double checking, they put in the wrong address, sending our technician to treat the wrong house. When we called this issue out, the person on the phone didn't really do much to rectify the situation, despite this issue not being our fault. We asked if there was any way our technician could come back or anyone could come sooner than a few days later due to the more urgent issue we wanted resolved. On top of that, this appointment was already rescheduled without really checking with us if it worked for us. To be honest, I do love the techs they've sent, the quality of the work, and the fact that their chemicals are safe for pets that I don't really want to look for someone else to do this for us. Dealing with the office/scheduling folks has not been the funnest... but if you do it just as a one off or when you do it more regularly that's more routine, it's definitely not bad since you don't have to reach out to them as much. read more

WOW! WOW! WOW! I am beyond impressed with this company. I researched companies online as we were having an ant and spider issue (we live on a canyon in San Diego so they are quite prominent). I wanted to work with a family owned business and not a corporate conglomeration. HomeShield seemed like the right fit. So I called. I was immediately working with the nicest person ever on the phone, who asked very detailed questions and learned about the home history, and issues I was having. I was able to schedule service that same week. The technician who showed up was equally as professional and caring. He made sure he was VERY THOROUGH and he explained everything to me and told me that he would follow up via text message (he did!!!!) and HomeShield home office also called, left voicemails and did excellent follow up work too.
