    Mango Branzino Salad
    Raia S.

The takeout from here was excellent! We tried the branzino mango salad, shrimp pancake, and roti massaman. The pancake was my favorite--surprising and delightful combo of shrimp, bean sprouts, flavorful egg, and light, crispy fried salmon bites with a sweet spicy-ish sauce. The branzino was well-prepared, and the mango was a nice counterpoint, I think the entrée version might be better if you're wanting the full effect. The roti massaman was delicious, and not too spicy. Great thai food in Downtown BK!

Xisan de Classic is an Essan/Isan Thai restaurant on Montague St in Brooklyn Heights. They are bright, trendy, and have authentic Thai food to please western and eastern palates. Xisan offers outdoor seating (8?), bar seats (10), and a dining room with flexible 2 tops and three booths that seat 8 each. Decor is bright, airy yet down to earth, with lots of wood and woven lampshades strung from the high ceilings. The booths in the back have cozy curtains. The dining room leans casual, the bar feels more date night, the price point leans reliable neighborhood nice dinner. Service is friendly, knowledgeable, quick to accommodate spice tolerances and allergies. The staff speak Thai to each other (which is always a great sign!) and they're very fluent in English. Plates were delivered very quickly and the staff check in enough without hovering. I ordered: Papaya pok pok salad (hot, sweet, sour, peanuts). Tasty and tangy! Pad Korat noodles - a sweet soy based stir fried noodle with egg and crispy pork. I have to admit I didn't love this dish. The noodles were too sweet and the pork was overcooked. I won't let this stop me though, I really want to try more of the menu because it looks and sounds awesome. Clean bathrooms, the place is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, and note when they say spicy they really mean it. Best of luck Xisan!

Lovely dinner here with friends. As I've come to learn, Xisan specializes in Northeastern Isan cuisine. A nice experience to taste less common Thai dishes versus the ones that are popular in nyc. Although, the menu does have the classics as well. Service was friendly and prompt. The chef came out and served a few of the dishes and he was so smiley and jovial. That was nice to see. The interiors are cute and feel like you're eating in a South Eastern Asia marketplace which is a treat. These things really added to the overall positive experience. Got a few items to share family style and happy with each dish. Everything was flavorful, stand out for me was the red snapper. I did feel the sweet and sour sauce was quite plentiful but I liked that the fish was not covered in it so that you could add to your taste. Was too full for dessert this time, but I'd come back for the black sesame ice cream I peeped on the menu.

Crisp Shrimp Pancake with crispy salmon. Divine!!!

Delicious! Really unique, exotic regional Thai that's so flavorful and memorable. Can't wait to come back. Loved the nourishing pad ginger chicken and the crispy yet fluffy shrimp pancake with fried/crispy salmon. The pancake is especially a standout, unlike anything I've had before, sweet like a breakfast pancake yet tangy and savory and crispy. Big place with tons of seating for couples and groups. Coming back for their noodle dishes, skewers, and more. Shoutout to our waiter Chanikan who was so sweet and helpful - she had the best recommendations. 5 stars!!!!

We had a spontaneous lunch here which was a blessing because we were looking for our go to Thai take out place in the neighborhood. The lunch menu was a good deal with an app and an entree. We shared shrimp dumplings and rolls. The rad na noodles were unique and reminded me of a Chinese dish actually and the pad se ew was perfect with the right amount of white pepper powder. We were happy with our lunch here that we ordered food to take out a few weeks later which included the curry puffs, pad Thai and pad se ew. We will definitely try the skewers next time and this will likely remain our go to take out Thai place in Bk heights!

    Moo Ping

We got seated by the window on a nice summer day, with shade and breeze. The waiters were very attentive and kind, making sure we got everything we needed. We ordered the Moo Ping (grilled pork on skewers), Red Snapper, and Beef Noodle Soup. The portions were huge and we definitely couldn't finish as two. The Moo Ping and Beef Boat Noodle Soup were deep in flavor, but my favorite was definitely the Red Snapper. It was perfectly fried with a thin layer of crust on the outside and tender fish on the inside. I would recommend this place. There are other things on the menu I would come back for!

My family and I had a wonderful dinner here! The staff welcomed us with open arms on the Wednesday right before Thanksgiving. They were incredibly attentive and friendly; and the food was incredible! Great atmosphere with nice music as well! We will definitely be coming back.

The service was constant -- I felt like there was someone watching our table at all times. If our water was low, it got topped off immediately. Yet, it was way too much. The restaurant sit below a martial arts place and it sounded like people were constantly falling to the floor in loud bangs, and it made it hard to focus on eating. The appetizers -- cremini mushrooms and shishito peppers were literally just a tasting and way overpriced. The beef soup my husband said was tasty but it was pricey for what it was and my glass noodles dish was extraordinarily spicy -- my fault for not asking about how relatively spicy it was -- but it made it hard to finish. Others may appreciate this place, but it wasn't for me.

Beautiful atmosphere and the presentation and excellent food!

Absolutely, hands-down, the best Thai food I have ever eaten in my life. I travel a lot, and I eat Thai food wherever I go. The food tasted amazing, everyone was friendly and very professional, such a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. I had the chicken skewer to start, with a Yuzu margarita. And then I had the penne with slow cooked beef, short rib. ! I had to take a to go box because I could not possibly finish it all!

My friend had surgery and is having difficulty getting around. So, he ordered lunch which I picked up. Xisan De Classic opened a few weeks ago. The decor is modern with some definite Thai touches. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I had the Crispy Pork lunch entree. It was delicious with just right seasoning Looking forward to returning when my friend is more mobile.

Best Thai food in Brooklyn. They offer a variety of Thai dishes outside of your classic Thai menu. The staff were super friendly and the flavors were authentic and perfectly balanced. Started the night off with a lychee martini and Mai tai and ordered some small plates which were all wonderful. It was my first time trying Pad Korat noodles and I was pleasantly surprised. The balance of the noodle with the crispy pork was superb. Then ended the night with a yummy banana dessert. The ambiance was also great. I was seated at the table in the front of the restaurant near the bar. The table was an indoor/outdoor space so I was able to enjoy a nice dinner with the cool and crisp fall breeze. This will be my new go-to Thai spot in Brooklyn. Looking forward to trying the other dishes on the menu.

Loved everything about this spot! The crispy pork with Chinese broccoli was perfectly done, the fish was fresh and tasty, and the noodles were so satisfying. Finished with a dessert that was the perfect sweet ending. Great flavors, cozy atmosphere, and really friendly service. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to!

Xisan De Classic is my go-to spot in Brooklyn when I'm craving authentic Esan-Thai food. The dishes are so flavorful without being too heavy, and the variety of meats, seafood, and veggies is super fresh. Our favorite dishes recently have been the Chinese broccoli with crispy pork and the grilled branzino with spicy seafood sauce! The portions are generous, and the staff is friendly and quick to help explain the menu if you're new to Thai food. Perfect for a cozy dinner with friends or a romantic date night. Highly recommend! 100/10!!!!!

My husband had the kaishin don, I had the Ozakaya donburi set and our girls shared the shoyu tonkatsu ramen. The fish was so incredibly fresh here and the rice was seasoned perfectly. My donburi set also came with dashi broth that the waitress later brought over to pour on top of the leftover rice in my bowl to be enjoyed at the end of the meal. The broth and rice combination was really comforting and satisfying. This dish was something I wanted to try in Japan but did not get a chance to experience when there, so I was excited to try it at Ozakaya. I was really pleasantly surprised by the ramen here as well. Although the pork could have been better/more tender, the broth was rich and seasoned so well and not too salty like other places. Last but not least, the service here was excellent and efficient. I would definitely come back here the next time I visit Brooklyn as there were many dishes on the menu I wanted to try!

For our food we ordered the hako sushi, tornado omelette fried rice, trio tuna sushi roll, yakitori platter (ordered chicken gizzard and gyu harami on the side) and the A5 Wagyu cooked on the stone grill. I recommend getting the yakitori platter as it's a nice sampler but my husband especially enjoyed the chicken gizzard. My dad never had wagyu before so he especially loved the wagyu but I do think it's expensive for the amount they give you, I can see why it's pricier but just know before you order it's like $45 for 2.5 oz or in our case about 5 thin slices of wagyu. My brother said the tornado omelette was tasty and filling and he enjoyed it. The trio tuna sushi roll was very fresh. As for the service, I think everyone was pleasant but the vibes were a little off, it seems like they were just very exhausted. This doesn't affect the quality of the food or the experience but it was just something I noticed. They were still very attentive and provided great service. The reason for the one star off is because I do wish the Hako sushi had a bit more flavor, I saw so many different ingredients and fish but none of the flavors were impactful, it was rather one dimensional which was disappointing because it was presented so beautifully. Overall, I recommend giving Izakaya nana a try and I would definitely go again to try other things.

Even before the food arrives, the restaurant leaves a strong impression with its stunning Japanese-inspired interior. The space is beautifully designed, blending warmth and elegance in a way that feels both inviting and refined. From the soft lighting to the natural wood accents and thoughtfully arranged decor, everything about the atmosphere feels intentional. It captures the intimate charm of a traditional izakaya while still feeling modern and stylish, making it a wonderful setting for anything from a casual dinner to a more special night out. The food more than lived up to the beauty of the space. One of the first highlights was the salmon onigiri, a dish that proved how satisfying simplicity can be when it is done well. The rice was soft, fresh, and perfectly formed, holding together without feeling too compact, while the salmon added a savory richness that made each bite feel comforting and flavorful. It was balanced, delicate, and deeply satisfying in a way that made it memorable despite its simplicity. The seared salmon salad was another standout. The salmon itself was beautifully prepared, with a lightly seared exterior that gave it a subtle crispness, while the inside remained tender, buttery, and smooth. That contrast in texture made the dish especially enjoyable. Paired with the freshness of the salad, it felt light and refreshing, yet still substantial enough to feel like more than just a side dish. It was a dish that managed to feel both clean and indulgent at the same time. The grilled squid was particularly impressive and easily one of the most memorable items of the meal. Squid can often be difficult to get right, as it can become rubbery or overly chewy if even slightly overcooked, but that was absolutely not the case here. The texture was spectacular--tender, delicate, and pleasantly springy without any toughness. Each bite had a light smokiness from the grill that added depth, while the squid itself retained its natural sweetness. It was expertly prepared and showcased a level of precision that really stood out. For the main courses, both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Black Pepper Ramen delivered distinct experiences, each with its own appeal. The Tonkatsu Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a broth that had a rich, velvety texture and a full-bodied depth that coated the palate beautifully. It felt smooth, hearty, and luxurious without being too heavy. The noodles had an ideal texture as well--firm enough to provide a satisfying bite, yet soft enough to soak up the broth and integrate perfectly into the dish. Altogether, it was a bowl that felt warming, balanced, and incredibly comforting. The Black Pepper Ramen, on the other hand, brought a bolder and more assertive flavor profile. The broth had a smooth, glossy texture, and the noodles again had a pleasing chew that gave the dish structure and substance. The black pepper added an unmistakable warmth and aromatic intensity that made the ramen stand out immediately. It was flavorful and memorable, though the pepper was slightly overwhelming at times. A bit less black pepper would have allowed the other flavors in the broth to come through more clearly and created a more balanced bowl. Even so, the ramen was still enjoyable, especially for those who appreciate strong, pepper-forward flavors. Overall, Izakaya Fuku is a restaurant that succeeds on every level. The stunning Japanese interior creates an atmosphere that feels both immersive and elegant, while the food reflects a real attention to detail in both flavor and texture. From the comforting salmon onigiri, to the fresh and beautifully prepared seared salmon salad, to the expertly grilled squid with its exceptional texture, and finally the rich and satisfying ramen dishes, every part of the meal felt carefully executed. It is a place that offers not just excellent food, but a complete dining experience, and it is well worth visiting for anyone looking for standout Japanese cuisine in New York.

This sounded like a perfect savory brunch for someone who likes to try multiple things. Every item had been carefully thought through and very well executed. The potatoes were crispy on the edges and fluffy in the middle. The tofu scramble was soft and almost silky. The mushroom balls were delicious. They had a crispy exterior and a slightly chewy but not tough interior. I would order those on their own as an appetizer. The star of the plate for me was the bread. The owner who spoke to us told us he makes it himself and it shows how much care he put into baking it. The structure of the crumb was airy with a crunchy crust. I loved the addition of fennel and raisins for sweetness and a touch of warmth. The only small tweak that I would make to this is to add something fresh like a side salad or sautéed greens, as i think the bitterness would round out the flavors. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes!
