Pearl Fever is on my rotational list of bubble tea, yes such things do exist…read more As luck may have it, not only do I live near a Pearl Fever location, but I also work near another location -making me either a professional connoisseur or their most loyal customer. They offer a nice selection of milk teas, smoothies and other tea/dessert flavored drinks. My go-to is their Milk Tea Ice Cream, Green Milk Tea and UFO (Coffee +Ice Cream). During phase 1 of quarantine, when their stores were closed, I was actually missing their Milk Tea Ice Cream because there is no other substitute quite like it. I love the distinct taste and delicious creamy texture. They also have great seasonal fresh fruit smoothies. Their pearls (topping) are average at best, but I enjoy the drink itself so much that I forgive them. So, now that Covid Phase 2 has begun, all their orders are done through their app. I normally order in advance (on my phone), wait for a call and then pick it up outside their store. I've done it several times now and it was always puntual and easy. It's definitely a bubble tea spot worth try! Tip: Preloading your card at $40 gives you a free drink. Your birthday gains you a free drink. And you earn a free drink for every 120 points (2 points for every $1 spent.)

We ordered the lychee black tea with coconut jelly and pearls and one milk tea with pearls and grass jelly. The tea taste in both lychee black tea and milk tea wasn't very strong- pearls were hard. It was ok, but I wouldn't go back

We got one of those and a Durian Smoothie. I think we somehow missed the Greentea part of this drink cuz when we got it, hubby and I were both surprised at how green the drink was. It's only now that I look back at the photo I took of the menu that I realize the word Greentea was in the name of the drink so...not so surprising anymore that our drink was green. I honestly didn't taste much Greentea in it though. Mostly I tasted KitKat and Brown Sugar. Didn't taste any kind of Cheesecake flavor in it. It wasn't a bad drink but I think I prefer the fruity drinks that we've had from this place in the past. I think I'd have also preferred this drink to be slightly less sweet than it was. We brought our drinks home and had them while watching a movie. Hubby sat further back in the room while our daughter and I sat in the front of the room, but I could still smell the Durian smoothie from where we were sitting!

There's a kiosk right at the entrance for easy ordering, or during busy periods, the bobarista can take orders at the counter. There are two parking spots in the back of the building in the alley. Osmanthus Milk Tea, Half Sweet, 30% Ice w/ Boba ($7.45) - This milk tea is excellent. It's fragrant, flowery, and what seems to be a naturally great, almost fruity flavor. I complain a lot about how Westerner-catering shops add artificial, heavy fruity flavors into their milk teas - while this one is fruity, but it works so well in this drink. Everything is thickened and mellowed out a bit by the creamer. Delicious drink and good sweetness level for me (less sweet than the entrees served next door...). The boba served in the drink is a bit on the lumpier side rather than being smooth. It still has a very nice chewy quality, perhaps being a smidgen on the softer side vs. perfect. That might be because of the 30% ice - perhaps if I went with more ice, they would firm up just a tad more? Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Boba Rating: 4.5/5 This place is pretty funny - there are signs up all over the place directing customers (and even employees!) on what they can and can't do. Funniest signs in the washroom by far, be sure to check it out. Washrooms - One unisex room

I tried the Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea - boba is decent 4/5 stars, 100% sweet is a bit too sweet for me, I'd recommend 50% or 80% depending on your preference. Two things I appreciate are 1) the cup is pretty and 2) the straw is not made of paper

There was a limit on how many of these drinks you could order. Basically, you could only order one. So if someone else in the family wanted a $2.99 Brown Sugar Milk Tea, they would have to have a separate Fantuan account and order from there. Otherwise, "Too Bad. So Sad!" I ordered mine with less ice and 50% sugar. When I came to the shop to pick up my drink, I also ordered an Avocado sandwich to bring home with the drink. My daughter had raved to me recently about this Avocado sandwich. Brought home the drink and sandwich, and shared them both with her. I knew from past experience that the Artisan sandwiches at Tealips were quite good. It had been quite a few years since the last time I had one of their sandwiches, and I don't think they had this Avocado sandwich at the time that I had last ordered one of their sandwiches. The Avocado sandwich was indeed, very good. It's made with Foccacia bread and comes with lettuce, cheese and tomato. The Foccacia bread was soft, and not toasted. Not sure if I'd ever tried plain, untoasted Foccacia bread before. I usually have it toasted. I found that it was still very enjoyable though, untoasted. This worked better for my daughter too as she was having a bit of a sore throat at the time, so the softer bread was better on her throat. The Brown Sugar Milk tea was soooo good! Havn't had a Brown Sugar Milk Tea in quite awhile and this one was really good. Also, it was still plenty sweet at 50% sweetness. Hard to imagine now that I used to order all my drinks at 100% sweetness. No wonder I used to gain weight back in the days when I first started drinking bubble teas and I had them at 100% sweetness! There were a bunch of different promotions on in the shop, including one where you could donate blood and get a free bubble tea. I might consider taking part in that.

Doing good business on a Saturday night, although we didn't have to wait for a table. We were not super hungry so just went for drinks and appetizers. They have a pretty sizable sweet drinks menu, with a lot of choices for toppings. I got the melon slush with half sugar. It was plenty sweet, and has the nice honeydew melon taste. For appetizers, we got the Taiwanese style chicken nuggets, and a mixed plate of braised meat and proteins. The chicken nuggets taste as expected, got good flavor, and was tender and not dry. For the braised plate, we got sliced pig ear, fish cake and sliced beef shank. I liked the flavors, and the beef shank was tender. Overall two drinks with two appetizer was like $43 before tips, so not expensive. Solid place to go for some inexpensive Taiwanese food and sweet drinks.

One of my guilty pleasure meals from here is their popcorn chicken, intestine soup noodle, and their Hokkaido milk tea. There's a reason why Bubble World still maintains a number of locations throughout the Lower Mainland and business is steady. Service is prompt and decent too.

Even cheaper meals combos are available for students. Once we ordered food, it took a pretty long time to come (at least half an hour), considering that there were only 3 total customers in the restaurant. However the food was very delicious when it did come. The sole waitress was pretty much on her phone at another table the entire time apart from serving the food. The food is very good though. I would definitely return again just for the fried chicken alone. The pork chop dish that we ordered was also delicious.

The walls are decorated with pictures from Europe and the teacups are very "British." Besides scone and tea, you can get regular food here as well such as fries, salt & pepper chicken, and radish cake to name just a few. You can also get cold drinks like juice & bubble tea, and bubble tea drinks here too. So...not your typical British style Afternoon Tea joint. Kind of half restaurant, half tea place. My friend had a pot of Leisure Fresh Fruit tea and a scone. We'd already had lunch a bit earlier and while my friend had room for a scone, I had zero room in my stomach for any food so I just had a pot of Longan Red Date tea. It was a cold day so a pot of hot tea really hit the spot. I thought it a bit pricy at first, but when the tea came, I saw that the teabags were Fortnum & Mason teabags. That is a very a prestigious company from all the way over in England. When I realized we were drinking Fortnum & Mason tea, all of a sudden $10.25 didn't seem so extravagant any more. My friend said her scone seemed like more of a biscuit than a scone. It came with butter and jam. I think she wished there had been some clotted cream to go with it. I can't say too much about the food as I only had one pot of tea but I was impressed that it was Fortnum & Mason tea, and I very much enjoyed the flavor of the Longan & Red Dates in my tea.
