Today was my first time at X Nails, the owner Thu was able to squeeze me in the day of before my trip to Mx, which was soo nice! We used to come here under previous ownership years ago but service is terrible now. The new owner acts friendly until something goes wrong. On one visit they scraped way too deep with the callous remover on my foot drawing a lot of blood. I yelped in pain and the technician felt bad and brought me band-aids. It was an accident but the owner not only didn't apologize or acknowledge that it happened (she was there the whole time), she was visibly angry that I made a commotion and was extremely rude to me and my party for the rest of the visit. When we checked out, she coldly said she removed the callous treatment from my bill. I didn't come back for a year or so, but decided to give it a try for my daughter's GelX nails. They completely botched them (see images), did a sloppy job all around, and tried to blame us by saying they couldn't do the marbled effect in the inspo image, but they never made that clear (huge language barrier) or we wouldn't have proceeded. We nicely asked if there was a different technician who might be more skilled at doing what we requested and they said no. So we asked them to remove the nails and they told us they didn't have time (there were no other customers in the salon and there were three technicians). They told us to call the salon phone number and talk to the owner, who then ordered them to remove the nails. The owner said she was an hour away so would not be able to help us, but then miraculously appeared from the back but did not want to see the photos of the bad work. While she gave us a refund, this review is about the attitude and complete lack of customer service. Had she acknowledged it wasn't right and tried to make it right in a somewhat friendly way, we probably still would have returned. Shame on us for giving it another try but won't make that mistake again. read more

Went in for a last minute pedicure. I can't remember who I seen but she was not very good at her craft. My nails were barely clipped. I was told $30 when I came in but then she said something to me behind a mask that I didn't understand and when it was done after only 25 minutes it ended up being $40. X Nails does a solid job overall. There's usually easy parking on the side streets and the pricing is totally reasonable for the area. My only big gripe, and what really knocked the experience down for me is having to check in on an iPad and provide my phone number just to get a pedicure. I've visited X Nails a few times and usually have left satisfied. The salon is out of the way, but the nail techs have always been meticulous and there's a great selection of OPI Infinite Shine polishes, so it's been worth the 12-mile drive to Sherman Oaks. Today was different. I was ordered to leave my chair while my nails were still quite wet. My nail techs started handing my belongings to me, which caused the polish to smear and become lumpy and uneven on one hand. "Jupiter Power, Make-up!" Selfcare at X Nails, does not fail! I reached out via a Yelp Project (service) Request and got the best responses for X, prompt, considerate, efficient and local. It was an easy yes. I get pedicures from time to time but it had been a long while so I was happy to try some place new. X Nails has parking in the rear off the main street and street parking via Ventura Blvd/ Woodman Avenue (metered), but if you know the area or Ventura Blvd you know parking is scarce so you take a spot when you can get it. Along with a great laid back energy, good music, great lighting and a chic setup for manicures and pedicures you have access to free Wi-Fi. When you arrive you can check-in on the kiosks by the door. There was someone available right away when I got there, they definitely plan ahead and stagger people out to make sure you don't encounter much of a wait. Thu is who helped me book and she was very personable in-person as she was communicating. My feet never felt happier and fresher after the full treatment. Not color or coat for me this time, but perhaps on the next and they have some great brands, also colors/shades in stock. The comfy massage chairs, warm water for foot soaking and arm rest will make you feel as valued as the techs who make X Nails the best of the best. Serving up nail and self care 6 days a week (closed on Mondays only), starting as early as 10 AM until 7 PM (5PM on Sundays). Don't forget the tips, pun intended. read more

This place will rip you off and Tiffany is very rude. Came here for a pedicure for 35 and the next day had to come back the polish was chipping. She said to Come back and she would fix for me and I would pay the difference for getting gel this time. So it should have only been a 10 difference because that's the price of a gel pedicure is 45. Instead she told me I owed them 20 dollars instead of the 10 for some reason even tho it was their mistake and poor quality of work on their part and had to come back the next day which inconvenienced me . Initially I was thrilled with my regular mani & pedi. They were fast and kind. They looked great! But after 3 weeks, I had a toenail fungus on three toes! One might say, "how do you know it came from this shop?" I only had a pedicure once this year, in May 2025, by Xnails. Three weeks later, the nail fungus was full blown. I gave them two stars because they did great work, but that's all I can give them. This nail fungus is dangerous. I have three toes that have turned purple and are swollen in addition to the nails turning colors, getting thick, and brittle.j I tried using Kerasal (OTC nail fungus cream)for 8 weeks. It. Did. Nothing. I had to go to the doctor to be put on an oral med, the strongest they make. Projected improvement? 6-18 months!!! Choose wisely! These nail funguses can literally cause amputation of toes if not handled right. I'll give an update on my toes in December. Hopefully with 10! read more
