Went there twice, terrible experience both times. The first time, I wanted an acrylic french manicure. I don't get these too often, but it was a special occasion. I booked the appointment and came in and was seated at an empty table. I informed the man at the front desk that I wanted a french full set. After a few minutes, this boy (seriously he looked like he was in high school) came and sat in front of me and didn't say a word and started trimming my nails. I was confused, but I went with it. But he was SO SLOW. Literally, he look like 10 minutes just to trim the cuticles on one hand. After each step, he started opening drawers and looking around for tools like he had no idea what he was doing or where anything was. I was so confused... was this boy even an employee? He acted like he had never given a manicure in his life. He asked the lady beside him for help like 3 times. I was too nice to say anything, so still, I went with it. Then, he began to massage my hands. He literally massaged each hand for about 20 minutes. I am not exaggerating. Finally, he began to paint onto my nails. I was like, hold up, I wanted a full set. And he acted like I was speaking in gibberish. Finally, after going back and forth with his co-workers, he determined that he, in fact, had no idea how to do a full set. So I had to wait for another technician. She seemed irritated that she had to work on me, and rushed the entire experience. It was terrible. I was there for almost 3 hours for just a full set. I honestly should have never gone back, but I did.... Hence, my second experience. I wanted a full set (again) painted this pretty lavender color, and almond shaped nails. I made sure I showed the technician a picture of the shape of nail I wanted before she began, so there was no confusion. And, you guessed it, there was. During her service, I probably had to ask her 5-6 different times to make the nails more "pointed". Like an almond. I showed her a photo twice, I really don't understand what was so hard to comprehend. I really am not a picky person, but this was ridiculous. You should not be a nail technician if you cannot differentiate between the different nail shapes. She kept making the nails square, then round, never pointed like an almond. Finally, she (kind of) understood what I wanted, and tried to make them pointed. At the end, my nails looked completely deformed. And once again, I was there for almost 2 hours for just a full set. I vowed to never return to this place. And of course, the entire time she was speaking in her language to her co-workers. It was so obvious she was talking about me too (I try not to assume the worst, but she kept pointing at my nails and babbling something over and over again and shaking her head). I just moved up the street from Worldgate and thought I'd try this salon out, I'm very happy with that decision. The prices are about the same as other decent nail salons in the area, but their color selection is much better. Their regular polish selection is huge, and shellac color selection is about 5 times more than I've seen at other salons in the area. My first time there I was a walk in and Sophia did my pedicure and shellac manicure, I go back to her every time now. She's very sweet and gives a great massage. The only thing that I can see being an issue for some people is the wait time. I always make an appointment but I've learned that I'll probably wait for a bit, even if I'm on time. I'm fine with that because I go after work when I don't have to be anywhere else, but I see some other reviewers mentioned it also. In my opinion they're just not rushing, and if that means they do a better job with my polish and I get a nice long massage then I'm happy to wait while the same is done to the person before me. Plus, each time so far they've had me wait for Sophia to finish with the person before me, while letting my feet soak for a nice long time in the pedicure chair. Bring a book or magazine and you'll be fine. They're very busy in the afternoons and evenings so making an appointment a few days or more ahead of time is a good idea. read more

This is the best place to get your nails and facials. The staff is friendly and very good. They dont rush you. The place is clean and comfortable. I lived in Alexandria but worked in Herndon. Although I no longer work in Herndon, I continued to come here. I recently moved to Gainesville but i never found anyone like them so i don't mind driving here because it is worth it. The BEST! My Mom and I have been going to worldgate nails for almost 8 years/every 2 weeks. We typically see Jenny and Amy - 2 of the best technicians I've ever had. We always joke that we can never be happy with nails done by any other salon, because it's just not the same. They're friendly, clean, accommodating, and so talented! Awesome spot! I was here on a business trip and had some time to get a pedi/mani so decided to give this place a try. I was seated right away but that may be because I came during the day. The salon is very nice looking, clean and the massage chairs are awesome! They have a huge selection of OPI and Essie colors and also have a huge selection of Gel and Shellac colors - more than I have seen in any other salon. I got a spa pedicure and shellac manicure. Both services were done by Sydney (not sure about the spelling), who did a fabulous job. She spent a lot of time doing my nails and was very attentive and careful. Also, both services included paraffin treatment which was nice. I was offered something to drink which is unusual and they have free wi-fi which I have not seen offered at any other spa and I've been to many in MA and in CA. The staff is also very friendly and many of the clients that I saw that came in were addressed by name so it seemed like there were many returning customers which is always a good sign. If I lived here, this would definitely be my go to place and if I'm in the area and have time will definitely come back. read more

Got a full set of acrylics here. I had an appointment at 7, an hour before closing. Not sure what the name of the lady who did my nails was, but the entire time she kept checking her phone and making calls. The nails did not come out even remotely close to the shape in the picture I showed her, and the woman doing my nails seemed very rushed. While the price was good, I would've rather paid a couple dollars more for a better quality set. I really wanted to love this place! But sadly, I will not be returning. read more

I have come to this nail salon before and experienced pretty good service, but this time I was really taken by back by the quality of service given by Cici. She was extremely polite, easy to conversate with, & went above and beyond to ensure I was a happy customer. It all started with this amazonic100* degree weather on Sunday when I got a pedicure with my friend in Springfield/Alexandria. My nail polish got smudged/melted/looked disastrous after coming in contact with the metal loop on my sandal. I'm pretty OCD about my nails, so needless to say I was pretty sad about it. Weekdays are hectic as is, and going back from Oakton to Springfield during rush hour for 2 nails seemed more of a daunting task than I was willing to take on. So, ANYWAYS, I was having a casual conversation with another customer about nail art, Kardashian claws, and my tragic story), when Cici offered to fix my toenail! Mind you, this was at NO additional charge. Sahhhh-weet. Thank you Cici for putting my OCD thoughts at ease. I've tried several services and have always been happy. Their nail selection is great and they have them well organized by color. Always get compliments on my nails! I've been getting my nails done at Worldgate Nails for several years now. Michelle, Sonia and others always do a great job. The place is neat and clean, well decorated and a nice experience over all. I enjoy a cup of tea or water they serve me. On a personal note, I searched for several years for someone who could do both gel nails and air brushing for my signature look and finally found both at Worldgate Nails. Worst customer service. The moment I entered the lady kept pushing me for a gel manicure. I made it very clear I was there for just a regular manicure. When I denied for the same she spoke to me really rudely while working on my nails, she trimmed my nails so short and was in a hurry to complete the session. Also, I asked her to apply some glitter on the nails and she charged me extra $5 to just put one coat of glitter that too was messed up while applying. Visiting the area and I'm a beginner when it comes to nails and nail care. I work with my hands and wash or use hand sanitizer several times throughout the day so my nails and hands are usual very dry and cracked. I walked in, 30 minutes after they opened, and they were able to start working right away. Sally was the technician I worked with, and if you're ever here I highly recommend her! She had great attention to detail and did not make me feel stupid for honestly not knowing anything about how nail salons work. When I visit again this is where I am coming! I went to Worldgate Nails for the first time this past Friday. I called at 12 to see if there were any last minute appointments available. They had a 6:30, which I took. When I showed up, the salon was mostly full. I was a little early and the stylist ended up being a few minutes backed up - I'm REALLY glad I got an appointment. My friend and I went to get our nails done yesterday when my friend wanted to go to her regular place (7 Spa & Nails-Herndon) because of their good service & lower price than Worldgate Nails. But I insisted on trying this place because of their reviews and sadly we regretted going here. The technician I had was extremely rude, her section was in the far right side corner. She made my 2hrs nail session extremely uncomfortable with so much attitude for no reason. She does not know how to treat her customers or to be polite. I'm spending money on my nails, it's not a free service so I expect to be treated nicely. When it was time to pay, unfortunately I didn't have cash so I wanted to tip with card. Then, the receptionist yells at me saying "WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME YOU ARE TIPPING WITH CARD, you are supposed to tell me, this is not a restaurant so you have to tell me before". I'm like WOW really? You work here so you know the rules it's YOUR job to ask "Ma'am are you tipping with cash or card" how am I supposed to know this? Not all Nail salons have this policy. I am blown away by their rude employees. The managers needs to train them on how to provide good customer service. Sadly, I still left a good tip & then suddenly my technician became friendly. There are billions of Nail salons in Herndon that my friends and I will go to next time instead of here. Will not be recommending this. Worldgate Nails is a great salon with reasonable prices. I have been coming here for years and have had my nails done by a number of the technicians. Its usually busy so I would suggest making an appointment (even calling 30min ahead helps). My personal favorite is the spa pedicure for $45. I've been here about 5 times and I regret 4 out of the 5. I always get gel nails on top of my natural nails. My natural nails are very thin and are prone to breaking easily. I have gotten the same nail tech for the last 3 times and I no longer want to get gel on my nails again. She was so abrasive with the nail filer and the cuticle pusher when taking off the old gel that for the first time in a year, 3 of my nails (which are not super long, but definitely not short) broke. Some of the nails were so thin after she worked on them that they made a little clicky noise as if they were a little piece of plastic. I had a bad cut on the skin next to a nail and she kept filing and cutting like it was no one's business even after I pulled my hands back from the pain. She hardly said a word to me each of the three times and didn't ask if I wanted a beverage. I had to ask her. When she brought it to me while the foil was on my gel nails, she didn't open it for me. Not a big deal, but it's kind of difficult to open a can when your fingers look like foil nubs. The nail painting was sloppy and the edges were not fully painted. The last time I saw her, my nails were almost done and I was waiting with the paraffin wax on my hands. She didn't walk back to the station with me and had already started on her next customer's pedicure. After 5 minutes, I got sick of waiting and started to take off the wax myself. The tech next to me realized my frustration and took the rest of it off for me. I did not tip the nail tech. The one good experience I had was my first and that was with CiCi. She made me feel like I was at the place with a friend and did such an excellent job. If I go back here, it will be with CiCi. read more

I had Amy and went in for a full set of Acrylics. My friend came with me and got an acrylic fill-in with someone else. Amy actually finished my full set before my friend was done with her fill-in! I got an almond shape and used color number 43. Amy did an awesome job listening to me when I said I wanted them as short as possible because I work in food servirce. She then advised me to get gel polish instead of traditional because traditional tends to come off if you wash your hands a lot...which I obviously do because of my job. I was so happy she made that suggestion. I was worried when I first sat down because she was on her phone but do not worry. She is fast and talented and will give your nails plenty of attention. I am so happy with the results. I will definitely be going back for every fill-in! Side note: I didn't get any nail art but I witnessed some being done and they are phenomenal. I am back to update my previous review. I have become a regular at this salon and I must say after several horrible experiences in the Reston/Herndon area, Worldgate Nails is by far the best salon I have visited in the area. I normally request Jenny, she is really friendly and does a wonderful job on my nails. I normally get a regular pedicure and gel manicure and I leave the salon smiling each time. They are also fairly priced, I would say this is one of the cheapest salons in the area. I highly recommend this salon for anyone looking for a local salon. I would recommend not wasting time trying out other salons which are overpriced for the quality of work they do. read more

This is not a rating of the store but a complaint about a rude customer who disrupted everyone's peace while she decided to conduct, not one but two, conference calls during her pedicure (and everyone else's). Women (mostly) seek the peace and relaxation of a manicure or pedicure. My daughter told me about her experience this week, as she knew if I were there I would have said something. So I'm doing the only thing I can think of for the unfortunate customers who had to experience her rudeness and pay for it. Sheesh! And ladies, speak up. You'll be doing everyone around you a favor and they will possibly cheer you.
