Quality/Quantity - Back in the day this was my go-to place for exotic wines, beers, and bulk candy. My wife's go-to place for stuff... So everyone was happy. A win win. This is just a great place to shop or "window shop." The first time I was able to participate in the egg hunt. Too bad these two teenage girls beat me. I think they were professionals. LOL. See pictures. Atmosphere - Clean and organized. Open 7 days a week from 9am or 10am to 7pm or 8pm. Free and plenty of mall parking. Clean restrooms. Coffee samples. Service - I like your concept, sold at cost + 10%. This used to be the Costco model. Always plenty of employees if you need help. Price - Depends on what you buy, but in my opinion, it is reasonably priced. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1958 with your 258 locations. The two stars they do deserve are for the interesting snacks and foods from around the world that I don't know where else you'd get them. The main reason I'm giving it a poor rating is pricing. I saw a cool wine bottle with a pride theme and even though I don't even like wine, I liked the bottle, and so I decided to buy it. The price tag said it was $17. I got to the register, and the total was $28.something. When we mentioned the shelf said $17, she said "that's only if you have the phone number with us." So we put in a random number and got the cheaper price. But if I look at the receipt I got, it says the regular price was $23.99. Even at the regular price, how is $23.99 plus tax over $28? $23.99 + 0.10 CA bottle fee + tax = $26.something. Long story short the pricing here is expensive, deceptive, and dishonest, and simply based on that, I will never shop here again. Ever. Oh, this store is just plain weird, because half the store was dedicated to Christmas stuff (and it's October 8th). read more

We used to have a World Market two blocks from our apartment, and I loved going there. Often, I found little items or gadgets I wasn't looking for, but they turned out to be very useful. The prices were always reasonable, too. Unfortunately, that location closed a few years before the pandemic. Then, we discovered the Napa location during one of our weekend trips. Now, we stop by before heading back home whenever we go to Napa. I still find it a great place to visit, with or without a shopping list! read more

It's been years since I shopped at a World Market and it was at a completely different store to boot. Service was wonderful! Discovering my lack of membership status the staffer quickly rectified that and made absolutely certain I received ALL my benefits. I was left bemused by this blaze of ruthless efficiency. I usually just window shop at a new store but the minute I spotted the Jacob's Cream Crackers, I hunted down a basket because I was gonna need both hands to shop. I'm fond of many other crackers but it's hard to find an acceptable substitute for Jacobs. I was startled by the price. It was about $1.50 lower than the last time I'd purchased these. Can it be? Is inflation finally slowing down? Unlike my usual behavior I succumbed to a few tidbits. I'd been scolded by my doctor about my dietary habits. It is true I'm deep in a rut. Time to try out some new, maybe even healthier, foods. Usually I skip the rest of the store, but this time I actually need some kitchen items. They didn't have what I was looking for but my respect for the kitchen section rose two notches when I saw they sold Lodge and hand-hammered woks. The woks looked a bit odd to my eye, that's not the usual hammer pattern. It kinda looks like someone took a normal wok and decided to hammer a pretty pattern in them. But at least they've *heard* of hand hammered woks. I didn't find anything new in the furniture section because this isn't a store that specializes in clever pieces that will either morph into something different or fold down into nothing. But they did have a few pieces that I might be able to squeeze into my place... maybe. The dining section was very helpful! This is one of those stores that will sell you dishes, napkins, placemats, silverware one by one. The prices are... well, I've seen a lot higher prices... at supermarkets for the privilege of buying singletons. You are expected to sign up for everything, the credit card, the loyalty program, the special sales, to work the prices down. I'm keeping my eye on the various programs. It's easier to work the loyalty program than it would be to keep showing up at the various clearance corners in dept. stores looking for that one or two bits of something. Tentatively, I've decided to place the dining section as a good store for people with tiny spaces. It remains to be seen if this place is price competitive. read more

This is the smallest World Market location I've been to. But I used to go to the Oakland one, the original, and am spoiled. Usually, we can mosey around the store and find something, but here I didn't need to mosey so much. The selection of things that they have are interesting, but there's no real reason to come here. I was just curious, but this is the first time I realized how small this place is. It's not just the smallness of the store, but it doesn't seem to have the same number of items/options as their larger stores do. I usually come here for kicks and giggles, but I think that for some real shopping, I'd go to Oakland so I can have some stuff to look at. read more

Man, I wish we still had one of these in Southern Oregon. My daughter & I love the unique savory & sweet foods. Bubble tea mochi, mystery snack boxes, spicy noodle bowls, high end chocolate, marinaded olives...beers, mixers glasses - it's like gift basket making paradise. My favorite apron that I use for gardening is from here. My ombré handblown glasses - love. Ever since I was a kid I've been al about CPWM! Back then it was just called Cost Plus and was mostly trinkets and junky stuff, plus it always smelled like moth balls (maybe that's WAS the Plus). Anyhow, fast forward to now and it's a Mecca of cool home furnishings, accessories, food stuffs, wine, and of course trinkets (sans the moth ball smell). Customer service is always friendly and helpful which is another plus, heh. I love their selection of hand soaps and body washes as well as their luxe towels on the cheap. Seriously, a soft cotton bath sheet for $24.99, a real bargain. I'd you think living in a Napa would stop me from shopping for wine, you'd think wrong. I love perusing their wine section for bargain week night wines (we cant drink $60+ bottles every night). Oh, of you sign up for their Explorer Rewards program they send you coupons for stuff all the time. So the great deals can be even better! It was time for some of our favorite holiday treats so stopped in to check out what they have. They require masks and the staff are also wearing masks. They were not limiting people (at the time we were there. Plenty of holiday beers and candy from all over the world. Lots of cute small gifts that are great for everyone. Loved the Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG) bobble head. Even though some of the rows are skinny most people kept their distance and wore masks. There were plenty of staff at the checkout and we didn't have to wait. Great place to get Advent Calendar gifts. read more

My husband and I just "discovered" Cost Plus and we are their newest fans! For the past year we have been making frequent trips to Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma for stuff to fill our new home with, but no longer will be have to travel so far as Cost Plus has become our new favorite place! Throw pillows, cloth napkins, great furniture, and even cute fun toys! And the food is great too! We just had a dinner party and it was fully outfitted with Cost Plus food. We got some Nann and Tai dishes, and the compliments were pouring in. The stuff is friendly too- although I must admit each time I come in I am asked if I want to join their "Explorer Program"- I am a member!! And it gets pretty annoying be ask two or three times a visit, maybe I should wear a sticker or something?? Other than that we love this place :) read more

This place has everything! I went here for incense, 7 different smells with 105 sticks at $4! There is a ton of imported food, furniture, art and so on. A friend and I spent about 20 minutes just wondering around and saw all sorts of cool stuff I couldn't live without if I had the money. Extremely nice beer and wine section. read more

I really like World Market and the Napa location is huge! I found all sorts of goodies that I forgot I needed, like a lemon slice squeezer and a spiderweb outdoor mat. The store was neat, clean, and organized. Sheri was extremely helpful and helped me with the advent Christmas calendar. She also mentioned the sale of the Halloween items so now I have lots of candy. I love coming into to Cost Plus for my the holiday shopping, they have so many cute things and great stocking stuffers too. They have great candles, and they all smell good! They have these cool glass jars that I use for dog treats, flour, sugar, brown sugar. Everything in the store is great. The only reason why I gave them 4 stars is because of how annoyingly often the sales associates approach you! I understand they're just doing their job and they're doing what they're told, but every time I turned around someone was asking me if I needed help, and it got to the point where I just wanted to go on the loud speaker and tell the people to leave me the alone and just let me shop! Terrible Leadership at the Napa location. I used my ATM card to buy $114 display item for my store and an addition $300 in merchandise. I wanted to return the $114 and was told I need the debit card. My manager had the receipt, I was out of town, and they would not issue a refund so that we could balance our company books. "Policy"...are you interested in "policy", or repeat customers/ successful business built on people skills? Clear to me that "policy" is the most important thing!!!! I was looking to purchase 4 bottles of momma mango and she put them aside for me to pick up the next day ! She also explained to me the benefits of being a member ! Cost Plus World Market makes it worth it to be an Explorer- one can get deals on wine, food, you name it. They carry affordable coffee from Hawaii, Downton Abbey-themed teas, they've done some mind-boggling promotions for movies like "Life of Pi" and "Eat Pray Love",even a surreal "Win a Napa Valley Vacation" contest. They've been part of the Mason jar thing. It's a genuinely fun place to get Christmas gifts; their gift bags are excellent. Their clearance/sale sections have great deals like Irish ketchup, Thai&Japanese salsas, Turkish delight, Marcus Samuelsson teas. They always have free samples of coffee&tea. On Wednesday I went to cost plus located at the Bel Aire plaza in Napa and I thought that they were closing down, I ask for help and a lady named Devon was very rude! The store looked horrible I felt like I was on a Thrift Store, they have a bunch of young kids " working " on their cell phones and couldn't answer any of my questions, when I asked to talk to the supervisor one of the girls pointed Devon ( the rude lady and another young girl that walked like she was drugged... this is the first time that I have a bad experience at this place, I don't think I'm coming back! I've been a Cost Plus customer for years, but I recently had a bad experience with the Napa branch. I was travelling in southern CA earlier this month, and purchased several ornaments, two of which were not included in the bag. As I had already returned to Napa when I discovered they were missing, I went to the local store with the receipt to replace them. After much back-and-forth, the sales associate informed me that the manager suggested I contact the store in southern CA to resolve it. They refused to replace the two ornaments, or give a credit, even though the total was under $10. The other store had no way of shipping, was extremely apologetic and amazed at the Napa store's refusal to replace the ornaments. My experience with sales staff had always been good, but the manager exhibited terrible customer service that cost him a customer. read more

World Market in Napa started a wine tasting today in-store from 1-4:00PM. The wines were interesting and presented well but, I could not believe they were serving the wine in little plastic medicine looking cups.... Please, you are in the Napa Valley! Wine does not taste good in "Oil- based plastic containers". You sell wine glasses in the store? Again, the tastings are a good idea but get some decent glasses!!! read more
