Parking sucks, service was fast, and drink was yummy. My friend said their pumpkin spiced latte is the best she has ever had. The cinnamon cold brew was very cinnamon-y.
Cute cafe tucked away at the Camp! I came here with coworkers after a team lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the blueberry matcha :) Great sweetness with a strong matcha flavor. Would come back if I ended up in the area again.
This is one of the cutest places at THE CAMP for amazing sandwiches, awesome coffee/matcha, and friendly service. As soon as you walk in, the space itself is spacious and there's often a lot of people working and chatting with one another. There is always such unique drinks to try from their seasonal menus and they consistently deliver great drinks! Parking is a bit of a struggle in this area but this place is definitely worth the visit.
The coffee the food the place. All of it was soooo good. The seating wouldn't be comfortable for long period of time but plenty of space to work and outlets as well. Everyone is really nice too. One of the top coffee places in Costa Mesa
I've been here before but never gotten anything for myself! Finally made it here again with some friends. I'm not a big coffee drinker but I got the classic sando with the spicy salami! It was pretty good! I ate alllll of it and I initially thought I would only eat half and save the half for later. My friends got drinks and a sandwich and a pastry. They said they enjoyed it as well. Service was great - nothing special that I remember. They were nice and quick. Ambiance is very relaxed. Cafe vibes. Lots of people in computers working or just hanging out with friends! Would come again!
Great coffee spot! Came here for a work meeting with a couple colleagues and there was enough space, while still having a cozy atmosphere. They had indoor and outdoor seating, which was nice. Their coffee was great, perfect balance of sweetness. We also tried a few breakfast items, all were very tasty and filling. Overall, would recommend this spot for a casual meet up or to get some work done.
Been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally had the chance recently. It did not disappoint! I got the breakfast burrito with bacon. I was tempted by the pastrami option bc I don't know anyone else that does PASTRAMI in a breakfast burrito! If I'm being honest, it felt more like a wrap than a burrito bc it was full of cabbage and the sauces provided were like chimichurri and sriracha vs salsa. It still was really good and tasty though! It was crowded on a Sunday morning but luckily a few tables were available. The line was out the door but it moved quickly. The inside is cute with natural lighting and a clean white and wooden look. Would definitely come back!
This place is sooo aesthetic. It gets very crowded on the weekend and hard to find parking and seats. On weekdays it gets busy too but doable. Their drinks are unique and their homemade syrups are great. I tried their sandwiches which surprisingly taste good. Highly recommend checking it out at least once. Great vibe
First of all, I absolutely love the name "Work In Progress," and the customer service we received was exceptional. The person taking my order offered some great suggestions. We ended up loving our drinks--the taste was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere, especially the lighting inside and the outdoor seating area. It was a great surprise to find that they offer food as well. On the day we visited, there was a cheesecake vendor on-site, and it was truly delicious. I will definitely be telling others that if that vendor is there, they should not pass up getting a slice! Thank you for such a lovely experience!
Quick a hip coffee shop, we were in the area and came here to grab breakfast and coffee. I forgot what drinks we all got, but I do remember that we all enjoyed each of our drinks. The AM Burrito comes with your choice of bacon or pastrami and also a side of pickled onions, house green sauce, and hot sauce. The burrito was tasty and made for a delicious breakfast. The price is certainly a little expensive, but it comes sliced, so you can split it with someone. The split portion was a solid amount for breakfast. Overall, it was a solid experience and I wouldn't mind revisiting!
For a place called Work in Progress, it seems to have figured things out already. It's always buzzing, rarely empty, and the overall vibe suggests this café is starting to outgrow its own footprint. Service is smooth, and efficient. The line moves quickly, and everyone seems genuinely happy to be there. The interior is bright and open, lively without feeling hectic, with a minimal industrial calm. No table charge means laptops stay awhile, but spots still open up sooner than you'd think. Of the list of sandos, I've tried the SPICY SANDO, CLASSIC SANDO, and the BREAKFAST SANDO. All were excellent. The focaccia bread stood out in particular. Light, buttery, and crispy. It holds up well and ties everything together. Of the drinks I tried, the PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE WITH ALMOND MILK, DE LA ROSA MAZAPAN PEANUT LATTE, MAPLE BROWN SUGAR LATTE, PISTACHIO CREAMTOP MOCHA, and VANILLA LATTE WITH SEASONAL CINNAMON CREAM TOP were all solid, with flavors that stayed controlled and not overly sweet. Work in Progress, currently in high demand. Repeat visits feel inevitable.
Located in the Camp, WIP has a unique menu of coffee and breakfast/sando items. We ordered the Brown butter foam over the cold brew which is very buttery with chunks of brown butter swimming in the creamy top. The hot latte is standard. The Pastrami breakfast burrito is different and tasty! It is enough for two meals. Pastries from Nonna Mercato in Long Beach. Parking easy in the morning. Please come and create your own adventure.
I know everyone talks about the coffee at Work in Progress, but honestly I'm here for the breakfast burrito. This thing is unreal. Easily one of the best breakfast burritos I've had in Orange County. The balance of flavors is perfect, the ingredients taste super fresh, and somehow every bite still has a little bit of everything in it. What really takes it over the top are the sauces and the pickled onions on the side. Absolute *chef's kiss*...The sauces add so much flavor without overpowering the burrito itself. I also appreciated that it didn't feel overly greasy or heavy the way breakfast burritos sometimes do. The space definitely gets crowded, especially on weekends, and finding a seat can take some patience. But honestly, grabbing a coffee and one of these burritos and hanging out for a bit is completely worth it. This is officially one of my go to breakfast spots in Costa Mesa.
When I heard about this new local shop I couldn't help but jump at the chance to try it out. WIP is located near The Lab in Costa Mesa & it's just as cute & trendy as you think. I especially loved the greenery, local goodies for purchase, & just the overall atmosphere. Whether you're visiting alone, with friends, sitting outdoors or indoors, you're sure to feel welcomed & taken care of here. My friends & I tried the Vanilla Latte & Matcha -- both of which were delicious! Not to mention the AM Burrito. Those pickled onions are seriously a game changer. We can't wait to visit this neighborhood bodega again soon! read more

I usually get rosemary latte with salted cream and less sugar less ice, never disappointed:) and it's $6, reasonable price compared to other Irvine coffee shops. read more
Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. It's in the corner of a small plaza with limited parking. We got the iced matcha latte with mint. The matcha was smooth and the mint flavor was fantastic, though I did think the mint overpowered the matcha flavor. I still enjoyed the drink overall and the barista was really kind. The inside is cute and a great place to talk with friends. read more

The newest and favorite coffee shop in town! Located in the same parking lot as Salty Bear behind the Camp, this space is beautifullll.... Upon walking in it's like you're transported to a coffee wonderland! Ha ha. And it's like everyone already knows it too. I was happy to see that they were busy busy and we could barely find a seat. I love that they are open later and have wine as well. I will definitely have to come back and try the evening experience. And the sandwiches and breakfast burritos look amazing too! I had the lavender iced oat milk latte and.. it's my favorite. Can't wait to come back and visit! read more

I stopped by in The Camp mall down in Costa Mesa. Of all the unique stores and architecture, Work in Progress called my name. I sandwiches I ordered were the Spicy Sando and the Caesar Sando. the sandwiches were great! The Caesar Sando was light and had a good lemon zest to it. The highlight of the Spicy Sando was its protein: spicy salami. I also got a regular matcha latte with vanilla sweetener as a beverage. It was good and earthy. Work in Progress has many spots to sit down at. It is a great place to grab a bite, converse, and even study! The staff were all kind and easy to talk to. Good experience! read more

wonderful cafe to visit if you're in the area! there's so much to do in the anti-lab mall and this cafe was one of the highlights for sure :) i got the pistachio cream cold brew but i would go back and try the pistachio cream matcha next time the pistachio cream was delightfully sweet paired with the bitter cold brew and you could actually taste the pistachio flavor which i really liked drinks came out super quick, staff was kind, the cafe feels nice and open! would definitely come back to try more drinks and food read more

my experiences here have always been amazing the interior design and vibes and the way everything is so aesthetic i love her! the drinks are not mind blowing but really unique and the breakfast burrito with the sauces is to die for! can be a bit hectic inside but lots of tables and seats and dogs all around :) read more

Omg! Starbucks has nothing on this place. The rosemary iced late was so good! I loved the cream foam at the top and the unique flavor. The coffee was fresh, and I liked that it wasn't too strong. Can't wait to try more! read more

I've come here a number of times with intentions of studying here, but it is always busy so I never ended up trying it until the 3rd or 4th time. If you plan on studying here (which the vibe is great), it gets pretty crowded around 2-3 so try coming earlier! The workers were all great and they were helpful with the menu, made some jokes/conversation and also have great outfits! Unfortunately, I ordered the fresh Sando but I believe they heard fig sando and gave me the wrong one. It was still a good Sando with a nice sweet kick to it, and i also love how the cream in it paired with the fig. We also got the spicy sando, which was a good savory contrast and had a great pairing of mustard, jalapenos and salami. The rosemary latte had a nice flavor, although I think the coffee itself isn't that high quality in its taste. The vanilla foam is great especially if youre like me and get less sugar in your drink since its already sweet in itself so they balance out well! read more

Here for some good coffee and Thanksgiving pie. Relaxing and inviting atmosphere. Lots of room to do work on your laptop, having coffee and dessert with family and friends or just plain sitting there watching everyone else, enjoying their favorite cup of coffee and dessert. My cup of coffee for the day was hot mocha coffee with oat milk. The coffee had a creamy texture with a hint of chocolate and a decorative creamy topping. I had a work meeting after flying into John Wayne and stumbled upon this place. The inside is very cute and it's the perfect place to grab some coffee and work. I ordered an iced rose latte and enjoyed it a lot. There is a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. They also had alcohol on tap and some food options. as pretty as the drinks and interior of this cafe are, the drinks are really hit or miss. their matcha is more on the milky side and their flavored lattes sometimes lack in the designated flavor. i think this place has a lot of potential to be amazing if they just make their drinks stronger in flavor!! read more

WIP is a spacious coffee shop located near the anti mall in Costa Mesa. I love checking out new cafes to study at, and this one was definitely a hit! There was plenty of seating inside and the interior was beautifully decorated. It was pretty busy on a weekday evening, but the drinks came out rather fast and the drinks all tasted amazing! I wanted to try their unique flavors and I personally loved the corn latte! It wasn't too sweet and had a good heaviness/thickness to the latte. In my continuous search for new and delicious coffee places I stumbled upon this place. After reading the reviews, I knew I had to try the rosemary latte. I like my coffee to taste like, well...coffee- so I asked for my latte to be filled in a cappuccino size cup which is essentially just less milk. So glad I did. It tasted lightly sweetened, aromatic, creamy and a little savory at the same time. The rosemary taste was distinct but blended rather well with the coffee. The subtle hint of salt made me feel like this drink was carefully crafted to perfection. Drink was 5/5! Parking is tough, there is street parking and if you get lucky, you may find one inside the gate where this place is. WIP was a bit hard to find since there's no sign. Ambiance was ok...very loud and seating is uncomfortable. Definitely not a work/study spot for me. Would I come back? Probably, just not anytime soon. read more
Been wanting to try this spot for a while and it was amazing. Out of all the coffee spots we have hit up in OC, this one ranks in our top few. The menu has really creative choices (like the cherry coke espresso tonic?? or ube latte!). The london iced fog is perfectly sweet and yummy. The espresso shot we also got was seriously so good, super high quality. The iced chai was good not great. It seems to be super busy, but honestly there were lots of tables even if it was full. Haven't tried food but it smelled amazing too! 10/10 would recommend for coffee lovers. It's now one of our favs for cafes in OC !! read more

Super cute and aesthetic coffee shop. It's located in a cute plaza that has a brewery, art classes, and small trinket shop. I don't drink so it was nice to buy a matcha and bring it over to enjoy a drink with my husband. Definitely recommend! The matcha was good, I prefer a little sweeter so I'd ask for more sweetener next time. read more
We passed by this cafe as we were coming from the pottery studio right next door. It didn't look like a cafe from the outside based on the minimalistic signages and it looked more like a lounge (they do sell wines and alcohol as well). But we were so curious since it was lively inside, plus the interiors and the people coming in here were so hip and artsy. The menu also captured my attention because it featured experimental drinks and flavor combinations (orange and mocha?? rosemary and latte??). I'm so glad i decided to take a chance on these drinks though because the flavor combinations were thoughtful, subtle and did not overpower the coffee/matcha in it. I had the rosemary latte topped with cheese foam and i was pleasantly surprised to like a latte with savory flavors. I thought the matcha lavender was good too - you can taste the matcha well and the lavender was not overly sweet. The orange creamsicle shakerato tasted like advertised but i think it comes down to preference, i don't think i can get behind orange on my coffee just yet. But would love to try their other drink specials! The flavors they're using are all homemade and makes all the difference. Overall, a cool and chill place to hang out and people watch. The hip vibe is matched well by their fun and inventive take on drinks. read more

My boyfriend discovered this place when it popped up on Yelp as "hot and new" we decided to visit on a Monday (Labor Day) and it was surprisingly really packed at 1pm. It remained that way almost until closing (4pm). They have a communal table but if you come here in a party of more than 2 people it might be hard grabbing a table together Pros: decent amount of parking lot and street parking (on a weekday, not sure how it'd be on a weekend), lavender latte was really good we ordered one to start then ended up ordering another one. Workers are friendly. Plays good music! Restroom was clean and spacious. Cons: we ordered the fresh sando which is vegan. Really good but for the price ($13) portion size I probably wouldn't order it again. Wifi was spotty so maybe download anything you need to work on in case it stops working. They close pretty early, hopefully they decide to extend their hours read more
Espresso tonics have been growing on me and WIP definitely did their work. The interiors are very aesthetics and the espresso tonic was delicious. Espresso was good quality, not bitter, and had a subtle hint of orange. Will definitely be back! read more

One of the most aesthetically pleasing coffee shops in OC! And the drinks are good too. I've been here a couple times and my go-to order is usually a lavender matcha, but most recently I ordered the rosemary latte. It was pretty good! Drinks are definitely on the expensive side but that won't keep me from coming back haha read more

Their matcha latte is delicious with the vanilla cream top. Lots of additional house flavors to add to your drink. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Everything feels reasonably priced as well. Good work environment, place to enjoy a drink alone, or to catch up with a friend. Friendly staff! read more

Cool coffee shop with an awesome ambiance! On the smaller side, but has a few tables outside as well. I got a matcha, which was excellent! I also got the breakfast burrito with pastrami, which was delicious! Service is excellent! I went on a weekday morning and there was a ton of parking! There were people coming in and out of the coffee shop with lines continuously forming. Would definitely recommend going! read more

Some of the best coffee in Southern California. The staff are extremely friendly, and the vibe of the coffee shop is very inviting. There is limited seating, and it gets busy really fast here. This is not an ideal coffee shop to get work done, but the quality of their product is incredible. read more
