But Chris still offered to size me up and then do an inventory search at other location. He had my foot scanned on their machine and pulled out the shoe for me to try on... but in brown. He even recommended a set of insoles based on my foot scan. He then conducted a search and found one pair in my size and color available at another location. Chris was very knowledgeable about Red Wing products, even telling me about the features of different models, and history! A few days later, I went to the other location that had my shoes in stock.. Their staff was useless. I told them what shoe I was looking for and they just handed me the box. No assistance with fitting, sizing, or anything. I asked them about insoles, and they just handed me a random pair that were too thick and uncomfortable. Since they were the only store that had my shoes in stock, I purchased them there, but returned to the Granada Hills store to get the insoles that Chris recommended.

Put them on, they seemed okay. The more I walked in them, the right foot was rubbing, causing considerable amount of pain to the point I had to take the shoe off even just standing with the shoe on it caused pain. So on the way home from school, I stopped by this store to let them know because when I went before I was told to buy them there.Because I can always exchange them So I explained to the gentleman what had happened. What I was experiencing and asked them if there was anything they could do to remove the pain or prevent the pain. Because I wanted to keep the shoe and there was nothing they could do. I asked them if they had another right shoe in the same size and color but they do not. I tried on different shoes. They didn't fit right? So I opted to go back to brooks. I asked the gentleman to order the books and he asked for a deposit. I'm like, why would I pay for a shoe that I've already paid for a shoe? I'm exchanging this shoe. Why would I pay for another shoe? When I'm already exchanging it, I said, I would take the shoe home, put it in the box, and then when the shoe comes in, I would bring it back to exchange it. And he goes, yeah, if, well, we a $15 deposit, I can't. I don't understand why if I've already paid for a shoe that doesn't work for my foot. That causes considerable amount of pain. Why would I have to pay for another shoe? If i'm exchanging a four of the other shoe that makes no sense to me. So I basically left my shoes. There went home barefoot, and told them to call me when the other shoe comes in. Like I don't understand why would I have to put more money down when I'm exchanging, a fully paid shoe paid for fully paid for a shoe for another shoe which costs less. I believe. I even had my receipt with me to show that I had fully paid for that shoe.I'm not yet they still wanted a deposit for the other shoe knowing, fully that I was going to exchange the shoe that I had.That was fully paid for with the shoe that they were ordering for me.I don't get this, I really don't get this

However, Claudia was so patient and helpful. She tried to help me track down inventory and told me which stores got the collabs and other places I could try. She went above and beyond to make sure I didn't feel so disheartened about my cancelled order. She really wanted to make sure I was able to gift what I really wanted to gift. She is incredibly knowledgeable and just so kind to take her time to help me even when the store didn't have what I wanted in stock. It was exceptional customer service and she represents the brand well.

However, I was so disappointedly shocked to see that the shoe section at this location is next to nothing. They are definitely more focused on lifestyle clothing and some actual athletic wear. If you're looking for footwear, this isn't the shop for you. With that said, I did find a pair that would work for me. And there was another pair that I was on the fence on. Little did I know at the time that the other pair I liked was on sale on their app/website for $40 less than in store! So if you do happen to see something you like in here, be sure to check on their website first and see if they could price match. The staff here is A+ they're so friendly and helpful. When I did end up buying that other pair on the app & they didn't fit, I returned to this store & exchanged them in store and the staff there was so willing to bring out multiple sizes to make sure they fit properly & then exchanged things with a smile and quickly. It was a great experience. I will certainly be back to this store. I will just have my expectations properly set knowing to come here for clothing, not shoes. It's something I would, honestly, love to see them change.

I've been shopping this DSW for years. I think today is the day that I've decided I will no longer…read morebe shopping at DSW. I went there looking for a running shoe. It says that I have to ask an associate for the right pair which is fine but asking the associate was being told to go downstairs to get the right pair so that means I have to go downstairs stand in line ask for the right shoe just so I can try it on to see if it fits. I don't know about most people, but typically you need to try on a couple pairs of shoes walking up and down those stairs just to get the second pair doesn't make any sense to me. I walked out immediately. The savings are about $10. I think I'll spend the extra $10 for the convenience at the mall or online.
