Such a great experience at the Canoga Park location. I had to exchange a size in my New Balance shoes and they welcomed me so quickly and even helped me with sizes. Yesterday, I visited a store with the intention of purchasing two Nike Air shirts for my partner, along with a pair of shoes and socks for myself. However, despite the items being on sale, I left empty-handed. While browsing, a floor attendant, Matiza, approached me and asked me to leave, suspecting me of shoplifting solely based on my skin color. I complied, feeling the weight of public humiliation as I exited. Later, I contacted the store, they ran the video and they apologized for the wrongful accusation. When I entered the store, I saw a Hispanic man sitting and taking a cat nap and they said nothing to him. I don't often subject myself to using the race card but in this instance it was definitely the case as Miss M and her supervisor didn't see me put the items in my bag or wore the items in the store with the intentions of leaving the store. But no, none of that was taken into consideration. The good thing is, an apology was extended but the emotional damage lingers. I will NEVER EVER SHOP HERE. I came here this morning to get a pair of work shoes. Upon entering, I was greeted by one of the employees in the front. As I was browsing through shoes, I was greeted by two more employees and asked if I needed any help. The store has a wide selection of shoes as well as other accessories. The parking lot is huge and has lots of room to park. The store was very clean and organized. The customer service alone was enough for a 5/5 score. The rest of the positive things were just icing on the cake. Overall, it was a very good experience here, especially with this being my first time coming here. read more

I brought some white vans, when I got home I was disappointed to found out the shoes were too tight and were leaving a crease on the shoe so I went back to the store I brought them from. I was going to escalate this issue, but my husband walked in the store and returned the shoes they refused to take back from me no problem. He is Hispanic and is always treated well in the store. I am white and feel like I always get side eye and additude because of it. I just want to buy shoes that fit and go about my business. The manager Marcia was patronizing and completely dismissive. This is for me to alleviate some anger but also to help others be aware of the lack of respect some employees of the WSS Canoga Park store have for people/customers who enter their store. I attended Sunday's (8/29/21) special event with former Dodger Andre Ethier at that store and it turned out to be an improperly organized fiasco. There were multiple instances of poor communication or lack thereof ranging from the pre-event advertising to the dissemination of day of information. Of greater concern, I had my item to be autographed taken from me like I was a possible instigator of trouble. I was yelled at for simply standing in the store with my right foot beyond a barricade that was set up poorly. Finally, I was shoved out of the way, in the chest, by an employee of the store when Ethier was leaving the store--once again, I was simply standing at a spot in the store. No one from the store itself apologized to me or attempted to speak with me about what occurred. I heatedly spoke with a representative whom I believe is from the local corporate office. In my presence, no accountability was attempted for those employees in question. My suggestion to others is to consider shopping for shoes somewhere else where a positive transactional experience is more likely from staff. read more

They've got a great selection of shoes and the staff are generally pretty friendly...there's just one problem: They don't carry very many shoes for people with wide feet. I had to replace my shoes (That for the record I had bought at this store) upon discovery that I needed wider shoes, and I was told that the only shoes they had available that were for wide feed were basketball shoes. Since I work in a law office that requires business attire, that wasn't going to work. I ended up purchasing wide feet shoes elsewhere. But yeah, if you have wide feet, I'd go somewhere else. The worst store to pick up release day shoes on, won the raffle to pickup some AJ1 and the text clearly says you are able to come pick up between 8-10 am, I got here at 8:30 and had to wait for them to open the actual store. I've picked up another raffle pair from the store in La Puente and that store really followed the rules and opened the door for the pick up winners on time. One of the workers looked pissed she even had to open the door, didn't even acknowledge the customers in line waiting in the sun. read more

My biggest problem with shoe stores like this is the selection of shoes for women. Why, of why, do the shoe people feel that all women want to have these horrendous colors on their shoes? I don't like neon colors, pink, or any of the other hideous choices they feel the need to create on a pair of women's shoes. So I find myself in the boys section looking for simple black, grey tennis shoes. The plusses are that the staff was attentive and friendly. They do have some remarkably good sales sometimes... and they are open until 9pm. The negative is that the selection is less than desirable. Stopped by and checked what time this location closed as I needed a pair of all black shoes for a last minute work event the following morning. Saw they closed at 9pm. Looking at the clock, I had plenty of time to get in before they closed shop. Seeing the Open sign lit up and a family of 4 walking in, I didn't feel as bad as I normally would walking in minutes before they officially closed. The door-person, a young male greeted the family in front of me. I nodded to him ready to ask where the men's shoes were to hurry my process as efficiently as I could to not hinder their closing procedures. "We're closed" the door-person states. I asked what time they closed and indicated towards the Open sign still lit up. The associate looks behind him and repeats that the store is closed. I politely mention to him there were still a few good minutes left before 9 and that it would only take me seconds to find an all black pair in my size for tomorrow mornings event. The associate shakes his head and retreated, shutting the door behind him. Not sure if the associate knew whom the family of 4 that entered before me where or if this is a hangout spot after hours, but knowing what I needed would have only taken seconds on my part to make a purchase.
