The employee working on Chirstmas Eve was very nice to us. My fiancée was looking for Ugg slippers and it was hard to find in her size. The employee checked on her computer to see if they had any at the store or nearby store. They didn't have any so my fiancée just tried different sizes to see which one was the closest and comfortable for her. The store is not that big so they might not have a lot of selections for you. We came right when the mall open so we were the only one there and we wore our mask.

I bought a pair of white UGG slides online... wore them around my new house where I just had movers come and they were so uncomfortable I got blisters from the 30 min I wore them. I went to return them on my lunch break from work and the girl working the register who claimed to be a manager yet had to call her manager said that she couldn't take them back because the bottoms had dirt on them... I went around and grabbed other white shoes they had on display in the store to show her that is just what happens to white shoes... she didn't get/ was immature/ just dumb because she said "are you going to put those back?" And I said in my most Karen like voice "isn't that what you get paid to do?" I realize I wasn't nice but neither was this immature girl who was talking on her cell phone when I came in. I told her I actually used to work at this mall when I was in high school so I've worked retail and I couldn't tell you how many times I've had to refold jeans at Hollister 10 years ago.. I guess some people just never grow up. The real manager here needs to train their staff better/ the customer is always right? Did they stop teaching that? This is why I don't shop at the mall anymore... and will never shop at Journeys ever again!! Note that the bottom of my receipt says you have 365 days to return, and I only tried the shoes on in my house, that I had just moved into, that had movers the day before, you do the math lol the bottoms of all our feet were black not just shoes. Either way they were trying to sell shoes that looked just as "worn" as the ones I returned. Do better!

Maggie was the best! She was very helpful. They didn't have the shoe size my daughter was looking for and she made several calls. She was on hold for awhile but from another phone she went and called another store. She went above and beyond. So professional and kind. Thank you Maggie!

I wish I had asked for her name but the nice lady working today was super friendly and enthusiastic. She immediately had an idea for me to try and I instantly loved it! I also appreciate she didn't try to put me in a crazy expensive hat. I was willing to spend more than I did but she found a great looking budget friendly hat that fitted all of my needs. 10/10 will come back for future western wear or even shop online if they have that option.

Several months ago, I came in with a sportcoat that I had purchased there about a year before. I had lost a lot of weight and I was trying to determine whether I should get the jacket altered or I should buy a completely new jacket. The salesman acted like he could not be bothered with me. So I ended up leaving and going to the Oxnard store where I purchased a brand new sportcoat there thanks to the manager of that store. Fast forward to today. I was looking for some men's dress shirts. The sales person measured me and determined that I'm an 18 1/2 3233. Well, they don't have shirts in that size. That's OK. But absolutely no suggestions on how I could have a shirt in that size. For example, the salesman could've suggested that I get the shirts altered where the sleeves can be shortened, and some of the material can be taken in. No. He didn't do that. Basically it was just- sorry we cannot help you because we do not have a shirt that could fit you. So I guess I'm going elsewhere to find dress shirts. This is not your dad's clothing store where they try to help you. You're basically on your own here. I've never been in a men's clothing store, where they really don't want your business. So, I won't be giving it to them.

Robert was the most compassionate, patient and most well versed person in suits. The minute that I walked in, he immediately walked over and assisted me with selecting the right suit and pair of shoes. He listened to all of my requirements and was able to narrow down the best suit for my needs in just a few seconds. Their onsite tailor came out and took all my measurements and even had my suit ready before the week was over! I have a slightly overweight and stocky upper body type -- their tailor worked his magic and made all the right adjustments to my suit to ensure a comfortable and relaxing fit. If you're looking for a cheap one-time suit, this place isn't for you. Their clothes are all imported and are therefore much pricier than department store clothes, though you're paying for the quality and precision craftsmanship. I would rather invest in this amazing line of clothes than keep buying overpriced luxury brand clothing from department stores that lose their color after one wash and fit awkwardly. I highly recommend this clothing store to anyone looking to enhance their wardrobe and stick out amongst the crowd.

My four-year-old son and I visited the store to celebrate his birthday, a tradition we have enjoyed every year since his first birthday. What should have been a joyful surprise became one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I have ever had. When we entered the store, the first sales associate asked when my son's birthday was. I explained that his birthday was June 29 and that we were still within a month of his birthday. She responded, "As long as it's in the month of July." I explained that it was within the past month, and she immediately told me that was not allowed and that I would have to pay full price for the birthday bear. I politely asked, "You can't just honor it?" She walked away to speak with someone I presume was the manager. When she returned, she told me they would honor the $4 birthday bear, gestured toward the eligible bears, turned around, and walked away. She never came back. My four-year-old son stood there waiting, excited for what was supposed to be a birthday surprise. We were left standing without any assistance until another sales associate finished helping another customer. I finally had to ask, "So, is someone going to help us?" The second associate looked confused, looked around for the first employee, and then stepped in to help us. I want to recognize that this second associate was exceptional. She immediately made my son feel special by giving him a birthday badge and enthusiastically celebrating his birthday. The associate who stuffed his bear was also warm, patient, and kind. Their professionalism helped salvage part of the experience, and I am grateful for the care they showed my son. By that point, the excitement surrounding the birthday bear had disappeared. I no longer wanted to continue discussing the promotion after the way we had been treated. Instead, I let my son choose a full-price Chase bear because I wanted to preserve what remained of his birthday celebration. As we were finishing our visit, the original sales associate returned and asked the other employee whether she had collected our name and email "for the birthday bear," despite clearly seeing that my son had selected a full-price Chase bear instead. She continued questioning the other employee while glaring at us. Her demeanor throughout our visit was hostile, dismissive, and unwelcoming. I left the store feeling embarrassed, humiliated, and deeply saddened. What troubles me most is that I watched other families receive warm, attentive, and courteous service while my family was treated differently from the moment we entered the store. Based on the totality of this interaction, I believe we were subjected to discriminatory treatment. While I cannot know the employee's personal motivations, I know how my family was treated, and it stood in stark contrast to the treatment other customers received. As a Black mother, I should not have to wonder whether my race influenced the level of respect and service my son and I received during what should have been a joyful milestone. This annual Build-A-Bear visit is more than a shopping trip. It is one of our family's birthday traditions. Since my son's first birthday, we have celebrated by making his birthday bear together. Those memories are incredibly special to us. This year, one employee's conduct overshadowed what should have been another cherished memory. I am requesting the following: A thorough investigation into this incident, including interviews with the employees who worked that day and a review of any available surveillance footage. Appropriate accountability for the employee whose conduct resulted in this experience. A written apology from Build-A-Bear acknowledging the way my family was treated. Confirmation of the steps Build-A-Bear will take to reinforce its commitment to equitable, respectful customer service for every guest. I chose Build-A-Bear because your company represents joy, inclusion, and creating lasting memories for children. My son deserved to feel celebrated on his birthday. Instead, he witnessed his mother being dismissed and ignored during what should have been a happy occasion. I hope Build-A-Bear will take this complaint seriously and respond in a manner that reflects the values your company publicly embraces. I look forward to hearing from you regarding the outcome of your investigation.

An unfriendly cashier with long brown hair told me I could not return them since it was past 30 days. An employee (brunette/blonde streaks/hair clip) who was working a separate register piped up to say the same. I very politely asked for a manager because my online search had showed it can be up to each store to make an exception, and I had compelling personal reasons for the delay. I thanked them both. I spoke to a fill-in manager named Ariana (sp?) who gently told me the return wasn't allowed. I said I understood and thanked her. When I went to try on clothes, I heard the second cashier who had moved to the dressing room, tell another staffer how "rude" I was! I came out and said I could hear her badmouthing me. She repeated that I was rude. I said I had treated her with respect. She then said, "Well, you were rude to the other cashier!" She refused to give me her name, so she would have no accountability. A little later, I heard her say to the same dressing room staffer, "I'm glad I stood my ground with that rude customer." I've never been treated so poorly in my life by a "customer service" person especially at a company where I've spent thousands of dollars. Fortunately, Ariana witnessed the dressing room exchange, apologized, and unbeknownst to me, told the manager what happened. Carolina found me to apologize profusely and rectify the situation. She handled a worst case scenario very professionally with understanding and kindness. She was recently transferred to this location.
