Nice store, nice and helpful staff. Unfoirtunately the quality of hte product looked at seemed a bit substandard.

I stopped by this Vans store inside Northridge mall on the second floor near the Macy men's. The store is a decent size and looks very open. When you walk in, all the clothing will be on your left or right. The shoes are further toward the back and the skateboards are there too. I came into the store to look at their skateboards while my wife was shopping. They had a decent amount of skateboard and accessories to choose from. I also checked out their shoes as well but I don't wear vans shoes so I didn't buy anything. I went in trying to find some new vans since my other ones are a couple years old. The staff were helpful with asking if I needed help and letting me know about their current sales. The store was very clean and perfectly organized. Although I didn't purchase anything I had to write a review about the great customer service. I will be sure to go back to this location when I do decide to purchase some new vans. read more

So check it out. I my family have been buying Vans since the 70s why well we lived in San Fernando and we had an outlet on Mclay. The outlet had mostly custom orders customers didn't pick up. As kids we were either in hog heven or wearing some crazy azz color shoes but Vans everyday all day. Since then the shoes is well cheaper, the materials are same, and glue is junk but we still rep Vans. Now in the late 80s early 90s my 1st job was working at Vans Holy sheet right. I very quickly became manager under Kathy and I was stoked. Customer service was superior, stock was great everything was good. Eventually I mov3d on and that was that. Now retail let me jump right to it and this location. They suck! Period! They are rude. They are preoccupied on phones. They consistently ask who "helped" you. The register employees are very rude. We placed an order the afternoon prior to pick up and never received an updated. We showed up the next day they told us they were not ready and come back in an hour. This is bs as we all know you walk back and pick from shelf. To me Vans is extremely going down hill like a trend and if they want to catch the fall these employees and managers need to be fires and new ones need to be trained maybe Kiazon or Sigma 6. Man it was chaos when I went in this store a few days before Christmas but it was controlled chaos. The staff was working hard. As soon as I walked in, I was asked if I needed help and I knew exactly what shoe and size I needed. She took my name and shoe information and said they would bring my shoes right out. It's definitely a busy place! I went in on a Thursday afternoon with an exchange. I'd received a pair of Van's signature style slip-ons in the prettiest shade of yellow, from one of my boys, Eric & his girlfriend Jasmine, for my birthday. Perfect Gift by the way as I entered the store I was greeted by a sales person who promptly took my exchange, went to the back got the correct size. I tried them on, they fit perfectly, the paper work was done quickly & I was on my way home within 20 minutes! Great customer service! Loved all the colors this year, ended up purchasing 3 different colors between April 2021 & August 2021! Need a bigger closet now! LOL read more

A tale of two retail shops - and guys, the women ate making you look awful. I am a lifetime Vans shopper and shoes wearer. Yesterday I went to buy a second pair of the brown suede MTE high tops with the red laces because I loved the ones I bought a couple months ago at another location. So the best part of my experience - the guy that was restocking and greeted me as I walked in with a welcome. Dude gets a job well done in that. The guy that got the shoes for me, not so great. I'll give it to him it was a little busy. But we all were chill, no one seemed like they were like hurry up or where are my shoes. he just seem distracted and a little disinterested in what he was doing. Which translated into no follow up. Like here are your shoes and walk away. None of the usual follow up lines - like let me know blah blah blah.... Which the women at the aforementioned Vans location - the one at the Beverly Center - did. Even though the were hella more busy than this guy. Here's where additional the chicks versus these guys shame comes - I was buying three pairs of shoes right? Boxes stacked ready to go. Didn't even need to try them on. This guy walks away. The chicks at the Beverly Center - full follow up while I did try them on. And carried the boxes to the register when I was ready to go. The checkout guy was okay, though I felt like I was interrupting a conversation when I went up to pay, What struck me more was the different vibe at the two stores, The women at the Beverly Center m, at a busier time, were more engaged, seemingly better trained and maybe happier to be employed there or wanting to work? I was one of the many parents that went last minute back to school shopping for my kid. Luckily, I didn't make the mistake of going to the mall over the weekend. It was still full (on a Monday), but not as bad. We went to find Hello Kitty slip-on Vans in light blue that we've been looking for. They didn't have her size at another store, so I figured going directly to the brand's store would be best. Service was great given that the store was busy in the shoe section. We found the shoes my daughter wanted and found an employee to help us get her size The girl had brought out 3 different Hello Kitty shoes all in the two sizes that I had requested (just in case). Very thoughtful of her. The other HK shoes were really cute, but had laces and my lazy daughter wanted slip-ons. She doesn't want to be bothered with laces. Ha! Oh the problems these kids have nowadays. Anyway, the service was really good. They unfortunately weren't having a back to school sale or anything, but they had a good selection of HK shoes for kids. Pretty much like every other Vans Store. But if the company is going to add new design to their shoes, they need to focus more effort on training their employees about it. I was deciding between two pairs that had a $15 difference in price. The guy helping me couldn't tell me what the difference was besides the color. He pointed out that the insoles were different. But when he pulled them out, they were identical. Eventually, I had to study the shoes and pointed out a difference in the bottom construction. I felt like I "sold myself" the more expensive ones. read more

Went in last week to pick up a pair of shoes for my son. The store was packed! Took the sales person FOREVER to bring the shoes. The checkout line was long with only two cashiers. They needed to open a third checkout. I was in there waaaaaay too long to just be picking up a pair of shoes without trying anything on. I usually go to the Santa Clarita Swap Meet for Vans. There is a vender there that carries a lot of styles and always has an abundance of sizes at a fraction of the cost. I was in a hurry this time and couldnt make that drive. This is the worst Vans shoe store in the world, my girlfriend asked for shoes and it's busy for the holidays so we understand the wait times, but for 4 different workers to say that the shoes were coming and the shoes were coming and finally one to say sorry we don't have that size anymore after 2 and a half hours of waiting and I waited in line for her so we could leave faster and when I spoke to the manager she was as careless as the workers, horrible establishment , I will be calling to speak to the real manager since the worker didn't even know who she was. read more

I went in there and right away Tatuko helped me out extremely quick. He brought out the sizes that I asked for and was able to help out 3 other customers as well with every one having smiles on their faces by how quick he worked. Then, when I was ready to get rung up, Junior was such a sweet heart and was so kind and helpful. I wanted to wear 1 of my 2 new pairs that I bought yesterday and while taking my payment, Junior laced my shoes up so that I could wear them out. He deserves a raise or at least a bump up the chain. I bought 2 pairs of vans gold cost vans which look like checkerboard vans, then bought a$75.00 pair of plum purple custom vans had to return after first ware were already cracking on the right foot. So I sent them back to be repaired/ placed. After all this smart ass Trevor says it would be weeks to get a replacement pair. And if wanted a refund I would've had to take pictures of the shoes. Funny that's not in the Privacy policy. Taking pictures before returning. Either way I'm screwed out of shoes and $75.00 I will never buy another pair of vans again my last time. Just left this place with my family and I must say the boy or girl cashier that rang us up has the absolute worst customer service I have ever witnessed, and I work in a customer service based industry myself . (nail tech/ makeup artist ) I say boy or girl because I'm not sure of the gender not trying to be rude in anyway I just honestly couldn't figure it out! I give 2 stars because everyone else in the store was truley helpful. We get to the register to pay and want to do two separate transactions he or she says I can do it all in one if one pays cash and one card. I said no thanks I want it separate, literally starts rolling her/his eyes huffing and puffing as if I asked to do something out of the job description! Needless to say if I come back and see that person I will not be shopping their but I will be sure to mention it to the manager. I love this store. I am outside the usual demographic that shops here, but they do have some items for me. Just got a sweatshirt for Christmas from there and I love it. The sales assistants have always been very friendly to me and I never get the feeling they wonder "what is the guy with the crutch" doing here? I have returned some items with no problems, and I have found everyone I spoke to there has a great personality, talks with me and we end up laughing and having a great time, even if I am just looking. Some other stores at the mall seem to hire staff with less personal interactive abilities (H&M), so I really appreciate when I get a store with consistently friendly staff.
