Was doing some footwork during the Jordan 5 Wolf Grey drop last Saturday. Stopped by a WSS close by to this one asking if they had the wolf greys in. They had mentioned that the store on Sepulveda Blvd had them in. It was a 10 minute drive so decided to take my chances and check the drop out. While parking, I saw a line of about 10 people in front, so decided to get in line. While in line I can hear these guys talking out loud saying that they're just going for the biggest size. This is a highly sought after sneaker so didn't think the store representatives would just let someone ask for the biggest size. Boy was I wrong. I get it, the shops just want to sell the shoes and make their money, but each shop should have some rules for shoes that are highly sought after. Like not let people just ask for the biggest size. Have them write down or ask for 2-3 sizes, if they don't have the sizes, then they can move to the side and wait until the whole line is done before letting them just grab whatever pair they want. Also the guy in front of me got my size so I got super salty because he was one of the guys saying he's just asking for the biggest size. One of the representatives had stated that they had just sold the last pair of my size, so that really annoyed the crap out of me. These retail shops know what shoes are really sought after and which ones will probably sit for a while. I did like that they only allowed each customer one pair to purchase, either one men's or one GS pair. Not sure if someone can get in line once they make their first purchase but heck at least they had that rule. Unlike other shops that let people grab two to three pairs all at once. People will always show up and buy these type of sought after sneakers. I surely hope they read this review and make some changes for certain sneaker drops. read more

Every time I come to this store, there is always an issue with the prices. I haven't been to this location in a long time, but today it was on my way home. I saw some shoes marked at a specific price, and I grabbed the size we needed. When I went to pay, I noticed they had charged me about $17 more than the posted price. I went back to the aisle to double-check the price and then approached the person in charge--who I assumed was the manager--to let her know they were falsely advertising the prices. She didn't say anything to me; she just walked over to a staff member and asked her to check the price without telling me what they were doing. I wasn't asking for a refund since I already paid knowing the price was different. I simply wanted to let them know the prices were incorrect. I did not appreciate the attitude or the way they handled the situation. I'm not sure how they treat other customers, but they definitely need to improve. I went here today to pick up a pair of work sneakers. Parking was easy breezy and the staff were all very nice - no hard selling. Better customer service to be honest and when did all of sudden did a debit card transaction had to be returned in cash only. At least ask me and don't assume that I want cash. I'm not a cash guy I live in the world of card transaction so good job by the way on that WSS. Then on top of that the lady and the guard were pushing me to do an exchange over a return when I just want the full refund. So extra points for peer pressure of exchange. Last time I went to the store to help my mom get shoes for work I was completely stereotyped and I was treated like a shoplifter and the security guard was rude and disrespectful. Like I'm just never going to walk in a WSS store ever again not even DSW treats me like that. I also get that WSS dealt with lots of shoplifters so I understand why their policy is stricter but I don't feel comfortable being in store anymore and I'm just going to stick with online for now with them because at least the app won't make me feel stereotyped and uncomfortable like stores do especially this location. I get to the store at 9:30 to pick up my RESERVED pair of jordan flint 13's. I ask the front door if the line is for raffle winners and they tell me to line up. I get to the front of line where they tell me i should have gone into the store by 10 to get my pair. They ended up giving away my pair along with saying "im sorry, we fucked up. Thieves! If I could give 0 stars I would. I placed an order for a pair of shoes at a different WSS to hold a size they had at this WSS. The shoes were paid in full so that they could hold them for me. I was told they would call/email me when they were ready for pick up. A week goes by and nothing. I called customer service - "the shoes were picked up 2 days after the order was placed." I let them know I hadn't received any confirmation that I could pick them up so they let me know they would need to check the cameras and confirm with the store why it was marked as a completed order. It took about a month to try and "resolve" the issue only for them to come back and say that they have fulfilled the order and I'm basically out my money and shoes. I asked how was it possible that someone picked up the shoes if the invoice clearly says a government ID and the CC used to pay for the item needed to be present at time of pick up. So clearly a store representative came up on my shoes! Well only Jenifer Zarceno Jimenez from this store would know who exactly "picked up" my shoes since she's the one who marked my order as completed. Came to this store looking for Air Force One's. Unfortunately the employees where overwhelmed with many last minute Christmas shoppers as myself. Luckily GIOVANNI JIMENEZ assisted me when I told him about my frustration with the customer service. Giovanni was unable to find the exact size I was looking for but he did exhaust all resources and found the correct size at a neighboring store. He phoned the other store and assisted me in having the shoes prepaid for pick up at the neighboring store. Giovanni was a great employee and perfect example of what a manager should be. I can't believe it took me so long to find out about WSS. I am very picky when it comes to shoe shopping but now that WSS is in the picture, my shoe game has officially changed. This location is on the north side of Van Nuys and the area itself isn't the greatest but that doesn't hold true for the store. This WSS is HUGE and very well kept. I didn't see many pairs of shoes out of place or on the floor which made my shoe searching process a lot easier and it made the store feel less cluttered. Perhaps the best thing about WSS is their prices. You can't find name brand shoes for a cheaper price and they usually have a deal running or coupons available. Last but not least, the employees here are VERY helpful and friendly. One in particular named PETER took the time to personally show me numerous pairs of shoes and described the benefits and disadvantages of each one. Oh, and get this, PETER is the Security Officer! He wasn't receiving any sort of commission from my sale yet he still took the time to make sure I left completely satisfied with my experience. I've received top notch service in this store and countless other WSS stores regardless if I was a onlooker or a buying customer. I will always go to WSS to check things out. So bought some shoes this weekend to find out I'm short two lace holes on one pair I came I. To exchange them and they had a huge line! So I get my pair thinking I'll be taken care of and the lady tells me get in line. So here I am in line 15 mins after already being inconvenienced to have to come back for what I think were counterfeit shoes. Dear Mr. Alon, My father's day was ruined today shopping at your store in Van Nuys on Sepulveda. I was shopping with my son on what has become a quarterly excursion down the Blvd. from our home in Sherman Oaks. My son is almost 9 and grows very fast so we like to regularly measure his foot to make sure he wears the proper size. Today was different it had been longer than normal because of the pandemic. He was a size a 1/2 bigger, we need all new shoes. While trying on one of the $120.00 pairs of nikes I planned on purchasing for him I put my sunglasses down on the sneaker display for a moment. Sure enough when I was distracted by my son and mask, someone swiped them. I immediately informed the closest associate of my situation and she walked to the front counter but did not return. I approached the security guard at the exit door and told him what was going on, he was very slow to react and seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. I was waiting for someone to do or acknowledge something. I explained that it happened a moment ago in plain view of your cameras.I pleaded with them to review the tape to see if the person was still in the store and maybe planned on turning them in on their way out. I didn't want to have any conflict, I didn't want to get anyone in trouble, I just wanted and attempt to get my property back. The security guard comes back and says there is no one here who can check cameras and my manger says you should just call the cops. I assure you had I said someone took something of value from your store, or if I put something in my pocket worth $150 maybe someone would have done something but to get the response, "Call the cops yourself" is insulting. I had a pair of size 6 nike 290 running shoes ($125), Nike Jordan, Westbrook basketball shoes ($120) size 6, nike jordan slides ($45), and a pair of 11 1/2 tommy bahamma driving shoes for me. If your team can take a moment to realize I am the exact customer you want to cultivate, disposable income, likes to be on current releases/ new releases, and my son needs new shoes every 3-4 months let alone the sport specific shoes. Rather then take the time to try and accommodate me, your team blew me off. In my frustration I noticed a sign you have hanging from the ceiling asking me to tell you how you're doing with the district's manager name and phone number. I called the number while I was standing there and left a message explaining what had happened only to have the security guard try to correct me when I stated they said there was nothing they could do and I should call the cops. I'm sure you can hear him in the back round on the voice mail. This bothered him and the Assistant Manager very much. The aggressively approached me and try to usher me out of the store. I asked if I could leave the shoes I intended to buy at the counter and they said no we don't hold shoes for customers. Well, I can assure you that is the last time I will attempt to be one. I get that you are a volume discounter and you make your profit on slim margins but the level of awareness, competency, and professionalism displayed by your staff today dumbfounds me on the financial success you seem to be having. That may have been great pre-covid but, I am in the F&B business, and all of our business models are changing. We are moving to either automated fulfillment or catered service to your repeat customers. Only reason I'm giving this place 5 stars is mainly cause of an employee named Ally. I'm currently in crutches and she was the only one who saw me struggling to put shoe boxes back and actually took her time out to help me. There was another employee, tall African American, who saw me and laughed...not sure what his name was . Ally scolded him and continued to help me. Guy just walked away smirking. What a dick. Any who, not sure if Ally is a manager or not but girl definitely deserves a raise; she even went even further than above and beyond by taking my bag to the car for me. I hate returning items, but these new shoes I bought make my heels hurt throughout the day. So I wanted to return them. The shoes are not dirty or badly worn out. I didn't have the box nor the receipt. The guy standing at the front entrance tells me I can't do an exchange . Even if I had the receipt, because I have no box. That is a complete lie. I've worked retail before and at a shoe store. Even when the shoes are worn, if they're within a certain amount of time you CAN exchange. EXCHANGE. There's a Yelp check in deal! $10 off 50$ This is a serve-yourself shoe store. Most of the shoes are Nike basketball shoes and Reebok running shoes. I'm not really sure if there is a particular order of how they display the type of shoe, but all the shoes seem to be spread out. There are a few Training shoes and tons of basketball and running shoes all over the store. There is a VERY limited selection of casual shoes and regular tennis shoes and sandals! I wouldn't recommend this place if you were looking for those! The workers seem a little bit jaded and customer service seem to be nonexistent. No one took the initiative to help or acknowledge your existence. The store is quite clean, and they seem to display their whole inventory to the customers. The prices are quite competitive and possibly cheaper than most shoe stores. If you do come in here, it will be difficult if you were looking for a particular pair of shoes or model. Your best bet is calling ahead or winging it. If you are a few dollars away to reach $50 to use the Yelp deal, you can always buy the shoe cleaners for $4, or shoe laces for $1. I'm very upset at the customer service at this location. It's very upsetting to have poor service when you're unhappy with an item you have purchased and want to make a return for a full refund based on what their employee told my husband. Their employee mislead my husband saying that he had 30 days for a full refund. This is NOT the case... It is 30 days for EXCHANGE ONLY, NOT THE FULL REFUND. For a full refund it's 10 days!!!! ITS JUST REALLY SAD how people mislead customers to make a quick sale. They sale you the world and then as the customer you take their word for it not knowing you'd have to next time "read your receipt" to make sure the salesman is telling you the truth. It's not the right way to do business. I tried calling the district manager (Luis) of this location 3 times and it went to voicemail. I even sent a text and no response. So that's says a lot. This whole deal was just not good, and it's not right. I want to emphasize that it totally would've been a different story if weren't mislead from the beginning. Yesterday I bought a pair of shoes and today when I fixed the laces up I noticed one lace was WAY larger than the other. I went back to the store to see if they can either replace the laces or replace the longer one. I was told I bought the shoes like that and they couldn't do anything but I was more than welcomed in going to buy laces. Me buying laces isn't a problem but why am I going to buy new shoes and go back and buy laces when the shoes are suppose the have the correct laces on?!
