Absolutely love this store! Super cool to visit whenever we're at the mall. They constantly have new merch and continue to come out with more and more franchises. I really love that they continue to have new merch from the Harry Potter world. The only gripe I have about being a "regular shopper" is the same exact deals they have going and it seems like they force their workers to make sure they tell every single customer about that same deal and it's just annoying and repetitive. I honestly feel bad about the workers who have to constantly tell people the same phrase and give out their name every time. It really isn't even a great deal if you typically only buy like one thing every visit. Other than that, it's a great place to shop for yourself but also to shop for gifts for friends and family. I stopped by BoxLunch at the Northridge Mall today looking for some Dragon Ball Z gifts for my nephew's birthday. Adrian immediately helped me out and went above and beyond. He not only showed me what's popular and age-appropriate but even caught me up on the latest storylines. I haven't watched it in over a decade! With his help, I picked out some great figurines and collectibles my nephew will love, plus some themed clothing so I'm ready for the party too. I stopped by here with my wife because she wanted to see what t-shirts they have to offer here. When I walked in, a worker greeted me and asked if I needed any help. I told him that I didn't and that I was just browsing. They didn't have a lot of variety of shirts but they had some funko pop toward the back. They also had a decent selection of backpacks. I've came to this store a few times and I've never not been greeted and have had really great service but this review is specifically for Olivia. I came to the register and she offered me the buy 2 get one free special on the snacks which I gladly accepted but what I appreciated the most is not only did she pick out the Hello Kitty snacks for me instead of pointing to where they were, she also engaged in a conversation with me about me heading straight to my nieces birthday party so she was so kind enough to include tissue paper and make the bag look presentable and she was super quick with it too! The Ladyfriend is a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh as well as the Peanuts gang. I stopped in and was able to locate some goodies for her birthday. Never, EVER miss a Capricorn's birthday, EVER. I love the model of BoxLunch. I like knowing that as I make purchases here they are making donations to help others. I also like that they have a lot of pop culture items that are perfect for gifts. I'm willing to spend a few extra dollars knowing it's for a good cause. BUT there is one big drawback to this location. They cram a bunch of inventory into a small space. I know they're trying to maximize the space they have, but it comes with the disadvantage of making it very difficult to move around. Especially when it's even semi busy. There have been many occasions when I was shopping for a gift for a friend or myself and I've just given up because I can't get to areas in the store I wanted to because there was just no path to it or there was someone there completely blocking the display. I wish they were able to find a happy medium between walk ways and merchandise displays. read more

A few friends and I walked into this specific store. Employees were friendly until one of my friends walked out since it was getting crowded in the store. While my friend waited outside, a friend and I came up to the register and paid. Employees and the manager then refused to serve us since they accused the friend of walking out of stealing. How cheap are you to insist on asking your customer to return to you a 30% coupon and inorder to reject a refund. Low class, cheap, crap customer service! Bought a shirt two days ago, went back to return it the next day with all store tags intact and receipt in hand. Frank a store employee starts berating me on how he is not going take back the shirt because i do not have the 30% off promotional coupon that was given at time of purchase. I told him that return policy does not have any language about having a promotional coupon to be returned as well to get a refund. With a rude snooty attitude he insisted that he would not take the shirt. Their return policy only states with in 30 days/all tags intact and with receipt. No verbiage of having a coupon in order to get refund. He referred me to their Customer Service line, where i explained. and they said that they have never heard of such a policy and that promo coupons are usually allowed for the customer to keep. When I arrived and called the store as indicated in the email the employee said they hadn't done curbside pickup in while. So I asked to speak with a manager and of course they were busy or at lunch. Good evening, I just wanted to let you know that I am very disappointed in one of your team member's customer service practices. I made a purchase tonight from Box Lunch at the Antelope Valley Mall and it was being covered by a cashier named either Daniel (1486757) or Garrett (120588) not sure what his name is both appear on the receipt. He said he was from the Northridge, CA store. I proceeded to let him know I had my ID for military discount and he said it was for active duty only. This is new to me since other stores honored my veteran ID. I told him I didn't know it was only for active duty. He told me he was subbing for this store and wasn't about to get fired over my two dollar discount. Not sure where the anger and aggressiveness stemmed from me asking a question or gaining clarification. I thought it was very unprofessional and not the "Box Lunch" customer service that I've come to know. I hope you consider retraining this employee because it was very rude and embarrassing. Came to this location and bought some T-shirt's. I ended up returning a T-shirt due to the way it fit and they made the biggest stink out of not having the coupon they gave me with the purchase. Apparently having the receipt and tags on the shirt was not enough. I returned it the next day and the guy helping me out kept smelling the shirt. Not exaggerating, about 5 times front and back. The manager is even worse. I wanted a small shirt but their only one on the rack was ripped and he literally told me too bad. He laughed at me when I asked him if they had any more in back and then got all irritated when I didn't want the ripped one! Do NOT shop here. I come to this place with my girl all the time because we always find awesome stuff and we always buy here for gifts and ourselves but one day I tried returning something as I found one cheaper online and they price matched i I thought might as well bring the bag to return another day. Well so happens the person who helped me who I can't even remember her name which frustrates me (description: blonde hair with short hair was wearing a sleeveless jean jacket and and had a bad attitude.) she told me some lousy excuses as to why I couldn't return my bag and talked to me like I was some kind of idiot and didn't accept my return turns out I called customer support and they told me she should have accepted and I should have received my return. Came here this past Saturday with my husband and kids. My oldest daughter is a huge anime fan and we saw that there were many My Hero figurines. She liked one in particular. There was a sign that said to ask for assistance so my husband asked a woman that worked there if he could pick it up and she said yes. We were looking at it and my daughter was saying that she loved it and wanted it when a man behind the counter with curly hair started yelling at him to put it down. I turned around to let him know that the lady said he could pick it up and he yelled back I don't care put it back she can pick it up you can't. He was so rude and unprofessional. He even scared my daughter to the point that she no longer wanted it. I didn't get his name but when I go back I will make sure to get it and update this. We used to really like coming to this store but if I ever see him there again we will just turn around and walk back out. read more

Easily my favorite store at the Northridge mall, if not my favorite store, period. Every single time I walk in (at least 5+ times this year), there is at least one amazing employee greeting me at the door and asking me if there's anything specific I was looking for. I went in on Friday looking for Gilmore Girls merchandise, and both employees on staff walked through me the store to show me every single Gilmore Girls product they sell. In addition to always being unbelievably helpful, they are always friendly, and not in a fake I-want-you-to-buy-stuff way, but in a genuine way that makes you feel like you're chatting with a friend about the latest tv shows and movies. I have never experienced anything close to the rudeness that has been described in the 1-star reviews, and I would go so far as to say that they're the best retail staff I've ever encountered. Some of their prices can be a bit steep, but then a lot of their prices are perfectly reasonable. I was shocked that the awesome Gilmore Girls mug I ended up buying was only $15.
