The staff was nice but very clear about their policy. I ordered a 16oz tea. Now on the back of any box of tea it says 1 tea bag per 8oz. So logically a 16oz tea should have 2 tea bags. When I asked they told me policy was one tea bag, so they charged me for a second bag which apparently is the cost of a second cup of tea. I already got charged for a 16oz and then an additional an 8oz so I could have 2 tea bags in my 16 oz. Make that make sense. Will never go to a Woods coffee again. What else are they over charging customers for? read more

It really just depends on the day whether I think Woods is a nice local alternative to global coffeemonster Starbucks, or it is a local ripoff owned by conservative christians who donated money to fight against marriage equality. Regardless, they have really good ham/egg/cheese biscuits! I stopped in here to get coffee and something hot for breakfast, and i was impressed at the thick juicy piece a ham on the sandwich! It was like it was carved off of some Thanksgiving dinner table or something! The biscuit was gluten-free which tasted odd like all gluten-free bread does, but the ham and cheese made up for it. The hello there when walking in "NOPE". Why a five star the coffee was made well, the prices were great, pairing with the pastries, and hey no one bothered me when sitting down and relaxing. It was a great atmosphere except the young two girls scream and laughing sooo loud for over an hour, but it was fine! When I arrived in Bellingham and checked in at my hotel, the first thing I asked the hotel clerk was "what is your recommendation for really good coffee and espresso?" She pointed me to The Woods Coffee. So I hit The Woods Coffee several times while in Bellingham, WA. I visited this location once the afternoon I arrived. I ordered a double shot iced latte with whole milk. It was strong, tasty, and delicious! I desperately needed some caffeine after three flights - I hate drinking a lot of caffeine when I am cooped up on planes all day - so I need brain fuel to get going once off the plane! The folks working the counter were very friendly and outgoing. And I love the ambiance of the place - lots of natural wood, fireplace, and more. It would be a great place to socialize with friends or sit and work on your Mac, iPad, etc. read more

I have always found Woods Coffee far better than Starbucks. The last few visits to Bakerview weren't so great but I wrote it off to some strange link to Covid. My latest March visits I had to wait in line inside as if I was car parked. The service was limited and the people were visibly stressed by need to rush. They half listened to the order and shut off as soon as i ordered and left me with the pen and stub to sign. I had dropped my usual top in advance. I know they work hard. I asked for 3 shots espresso for an americano with a little less water than the usual. Somehow somebody decided I wanted sweet and low and extra water. I tasted and cringed. The person making the coffee insisted i'd asked for sweet and low. And said they'd make another. Then started reminding me about my request being transmitted that I wanted sweet and low. They apologized repeatedly while never making eye contact and shuffling for cars in line. I said"i'm not upset" and the person pt reminding me they were sorry, shuffling coffees as if they were talking to Alexa. When the coffee was ready, i picked it up and took a sip and i could still taste that sweet and low aftertaste in my mouth. I also noticed the coffee was extra weak and asked whether they put much coffee in there. I waited until I got back into the car to try to taste again, several times. It is dishwater! It may as well been made with left over grounds and diluted. It was as much an "americano" as weak instant coffee tasted in the last century. Why such an essay? I really was looking forward to a coffee to start a day that I knew would be a tough one. I'll simply another remote Woods and see if this down drop is common or a series of bad days and coffee beans over the last few months. False apologies, as if to 'Alexa' were truly insulting. I mean insulting, sounding like I was some little kid who couldn't speak well and made a sloppy order, while adults were obviously too busy running a harried assembly line to help some manager or company, cold, stressed, and flat. Tl;DR: Yum!! I am a Dutch diehard but I could see myself switching if we had a Woods here. I'm so glad I tried this little chain! We stopped here for breakfast during our outing in Bellingham. I got a caramel mocha and a breakfast sandwich, my companion got a tea and a the hash brown breakfast sandwich, plus a small pastry. It was all so yummy! The coffee was exactly what you want it to be- fresh, hot, and tasty. The sandwiches were filling and yummy. I'm not sure I would get the hash brown one again- just not out style. But it was yummy! Just saying, if you're going to any chain, stay with the local one. Every one I've been too has been great. Adorable space! It's like an upscale Starbucks (with better tasting coffee in my opinion ). Cute vibes all around with cabin-like atmosphere as the entire space is decorated in woods! There are plenty of outlets so it's really good for studying -- can confirm productivity! Lots of pastry options along with coffee drinks (drinks are sized according to different wood types -- spruce, cedar, etc). I normally get their Americano -- their coffee beans are really smooth and I personally really enjoy Wood's coffee compared to other local chains. This place is also very close to Cordata station and Bellis Fair Mall, so perfect for a quick coffee break when you've got time before your bus arrives or when you need that extra caffeine kick for your shopping needs! Let the crazy begin. Went here for a simple Large Cold Brew Caramel Macchiato and it was nearly $7 ($6.90). I couldn't believe it, so I commented to the young lady rushing all around (she was by herself), asking if the price was accurate. Two stars because I love Woods food and coffee. However the lack of other stars is entirely due to this particular location's service. They always prioritize the drive through customer over the walk-ins. I'm over it. I'm never going back to this location. I'm now going out of my way to Starbucks or co-op for coffee. It is only this location that has this problem. I love Woods at Lakeway and downtown and in Fairhaven. But this one makes walk-in guests wait wayyy tooo long!!! They should reverse their priorities. People in cars can't see you. But I can see you. And you make me wait before you even acknowledge me. And then you make me wait even longer before helping me--meanwhile many cars have come and gone through drive through. read more

Let me start out by saying I'm a really big fan of Woods Coffee in general. They make the most delicious coffee, lattes, hot chocolate, you name it. But this has to be my favorite location by far. I started going here because it was the closest place to my work, which made it quite convenient to grab a coffee to get me through those 7 am shifts. But I keep coming back, specifically to this location over others, because of the service. What do I mean? Well, after about a week, half of the staff knew my name and my order. They greet me by name and ask how I'm doing, and genuinely care. One day when I had the luxury of sitting down inside and enjoying my coffee, I realized that they knew the names of at least half of the people that came through their door. There aren't many places like that anymore. They know my boyfriend so well that one day he went through the drive thru and ordered his drink by his name (mind you, Tim isn't a very uncommon name), and they knew exactly who he was and what he wanted. I've never been somewhere that's made me feel more at home. Thank you, Woods. read more

The Bakerview location is awesome! The baristas were friendly, even while taking orders and multitasking. The coffee was great, and the warm white chocolate raspberry scone was delicious! While we were waiting for our order, we saw the barista deal with a difficult customer, and she was very polite about it. Their coffee is fine, but I have a problem with the ridiculous names for the coffee sizes. I don't live in Bham or frequent Woods coffee so when I went through the drive-thru and saw no indication of what a "cedar" is or any of the other tree-themed sizes I was annoyed. Clever does not equal good. My coffee also had a football sticker over the drink hole to prevent spills, but when I took the sticker off it left adhesive behind that I had to scrape off. There must be a better solution out there. read more
