Some of the best coffee I've ever had! They do such a good job of making sure the espresso pours are perfect! If you're not a coffee fan, they have a TON of other yummy drinks like lotus, chai or redbull. Their specials are always so fun and creative! They do a great job of coming up with new recipes. Well first of all, the food is excellent! I always get the hot chocolate, and they always know how to prepare it. For the service, I'm actually friends with some people there, so they know me pretty well. They have a nice little building where they make their drinks and food, and that really ties it all together. read more

The Bean Stop on Northwest always has quick and good service! Their coffee is always made well and they have good variety on their menu. The only critique I would have is to offer ordering on both sides of the building as you sometimes wait in line for a while and there are several people working who could be making coffees if they could take several orders at once! read more

There isn't to many places i enjoy to get coffee from in whatcom county but this one is by far my favorite! The prices are great i always get a white choc almond milk latte with a splash of caramel and its a bit under 5 bucks which i usually pay 550 6 other places...they have an assortment of bagels and breakfast sandwiches as well..i started coming more regularly now that my kids go to pre school so close, and I'm always in a rush and dont get my daily dose of caffeine in me before we are out the door...the baristas are friendly and always spark up conversations i love this local shop and they roast there own beans so they stand out in flavor! read more

I absolutely love coming here and just keep coming back! Service is fast and friendly, which is super helpful when I'm rushing to get to class or work on time. I'm a big fan of their dirty spiced chai and any and all of their mochas, lattes and iced coffee varieties. The prices are really good and on the lower end for coffee drinks in comparison to other places. I am definitely going to keep coming here. The only thing I'd change is that I wish they had some more hot food options for breakfast, otherwise I'm pretty content. read more

We stopped here on a road trip to Vancouver, BC. The americano was smooth and delicious. I had mine with a little vanilla, which was warm and the right amount of sweet. Great prices, super friendly barista, and easy location. I'd stop again if back in the area. I would have preferred a little less vanilla and a little hotter drink, but my friend who ordered the same thing thought it was perfect :) read more

The Bean Stop has two locations one on Samish Way and one on Birchwood. I mainly frequent the birchwood location, and it's my Favorite coffee stand in Bellingham! Phenomenal coffee... beans roasted daily... cost less than $3.00 for most drinks up to 20 oz... Why did it take me so long to find this place!! So I live about a half mile from The Bean Stop, and since it looks attached to an auto shop I have never felt compelled to try it. What a mistake that was! The coffee beans are roasted at their other location on Birchwood, one pound at a time, which is pretty great. If you happen to go by there in the morning the scent is sure to wake you up! So latte's, cappuccino's, mocha's, etc. are all $2.75 or less up to 20 ounces and that is a steal for sure! The people that work there are friendly and easy going. All they need now is a punch card system and The Bean Stop would be perfect! read more

Knowing that this little stand opens daily at 6am is often enough motivation for me to get out of bed. They have all your coffee & tea needs as well as Italian soda, muffins, breakfast pastries, chips & snacks. And here's the kicker that isn't advertised in larger print, it's ALL ORGANIC and they roast their beans right there. What's also nice about the coffee here is it's consistently good with a caramel roasted flavor and the espressos always have that delicious layer of crema. Not to mention, you can get any drink up to 20oz with 2 shots for $2.50. That's such an excellent deal considering the price of coffee on campus. Finally, the location is fabulous as it's right across the street from pizza pipeline and the bus stop is right there. Also, sometimes I'm surprised at how awesome the service is considering it's 6am. Bottom line, this is my coffee fix. read more

Moved to Portland 2 years ago and i still wait for my bellingham visits to stock up on coffee from the bean stop. Their beans are roasted exceptionally and a great value to purchase to take home. And their prices for coffee are the last hope for a good deal in this world. Any drink up until a 20oz is always 2.50$....2 shots included. That concept would be atleast 6 bucks with other major coffee locations.....which do not deliver the quality that bean stop does. read more

THIS is the tastiest best shop ever. DELISH!! Well priced! Super people all pin point on their brew!! It's been about 5 years since I found this place and I can't find anywhere else that is nearly as AWESOME as this delicious lil spot with their great coffee drinks, great service and great beans that support a dedicated bean loving family. Today I came to the Bean Stop for the first time to grab an iced drink for some errands and I wasn't expecting anything other than a typical drive up coffee stand but this place definitely exceeds expectations. The first thing I noticed was that you can get any size drink anywhere from an 8 ounce to a 32 ounce, this is awesome for me on days that I either want just a sip or need that big gulp sized coffee for finals. The barista was super nice, and the coffee is very well priced. I got a 24 ounce, iced London fog and it is for sure one of the better ones I've had. I always order a London Fog from new places because it's simple, and difficult to get wrong. They use high quality tea and it was more flavorful than a lot of places that I've ordered the same thing from. This might just be my new coffee stop. read more

I ordered a veggie bagel sandwich for lunch, and when I got back home I realized not only were there no veggies, but it had TURKEY, followed with a significant amount of cream cheese! I couldn't go back to return, but needless to say I tossed it out. I won't be coming here anymore for lunch. Lesson learned. read more

Consistently perfect coffee. Not to sweet, not burnt tasting, just perfect. I only get the white mocha's because they are incredible hot or iced, but I've tried sips of others and they are great too. Cheapest espresso in bellingham that I know if to boot! This place is awesome and definitely deserves 5 stars. read more

PLEASE owners of bean stop take care of your workers and take care of your customers and the community. Being a barista, at its core, is about offering a great product and excellent customer service and that is what we strive for here. We have built a community with our friendly attitude and genuine care for our customers. Our coffee is a locally, small batch roasted organic green bean from Peru. Originally, we roasted in stands but once we gained a larger demand, we had to move off site to Skagit County to keep up. One of our recent focuses is to offer unique coffee and energy drinks. We want customers to receive a drink that makes them want to take a picture, share it on socials or tell someone else about their high quality, unique drink they got from one of our stands.

History

Established in 2008.

The Bean Stop was founded in 2008 by Christy and Richie Ford at our East Maple Street location. They worked tirelessly to establish a high quality, friendly coffee stand that stood apart from the sea of coffee stands in Whatcom County. In 2010, they opened their second location in the Birchwood neighborhood. The current owner, Liz, was hired in 2015 and worked at the Birchwood location until purchasing The Bean Stop in 2024.

Seeing the food and amazing coffee/hot chocolate drinks being delivered was genuinely exciting us. With peaches in season, peach blintzes and French toast were on special. The server recommended the blintzes so that's what I ordered. When they arrived she told me that if I didn't like them they would switch them out which was a nice offer but I absolutely loved them. I also ordered the fancy Vienesse coffee which was a true treat! Overflowing with homemade whip it was amazing, but not super hot. My hubby ordered the Buttermilk breakfast which was two pancakes, one egg, bacon, fruit and included coffee and juice. The house coffee was delish which was a very nice to have. He also ordered a side of sourdough bread which was amazing with the homemade jelly. My daughter ordered the kids chocolate chip pancakes and devoured them. The only complaint was that it was a little on the spendy side, but when you consider that it's literally all homemade ingredients it's absolutely worth it. We came back a couple of days later, but we missed the food (the kitchen closes at a specific time) so we ended up getting coffee to go. I'd put this place on my list of favorite coffee shops to eat at in PNW!

Also, its perfect for those of us getting to work late as the service is really fast. I've seen Christy get through a line of cars wrapped around the stand in less than 10 minutes. For nearly six minutes, not one person--neither the owner nor the multiple baristas inside--said a single word to me or made any attempt to take my order. Instead, they began preparing the order for the car that had arrived after me while I continued to sit there with no service whatsoever. This level of disregard is unacceptable. When a stand is not busy and several employees are present, being ignored entirely--especially while someone who arrived later is served first--is beyond unprofessional. I left extremely disappointed and frustrated, and this experience has seriously made me reconsider returning
