I came here for the first time and ordered the same drink I always order when I go to diedrich espresso. When I first got there it was immediately obvious that the girl taking our order was new. She kept making us repeat ourselves when all we got was one drink each all in the same size and it took her about 10 minutes just to finish taking our order. Then we waited another 10 minutes before paying and they still took time to give us our drinks after that. I got white coffee and I work at a coffee stand as a barista so I know what white coffee shots are supposed to taste like and it is obvious that they didn't pull the shots correctly because my coffee is bitter and tastes like water. There are also a ton of coffee grounds in the bottom of my drink. I am very upset and will not be returning! read more

I love I Wana Moka!! This has been my favorite coffee shop for the past 5 years. The food and drinks are always amazingly delicious and the workers give great recommendations of new ones to try. The vibe is very nice and relaxed with black and blue details on the menu board that makes it very easy to read. Have been to this spot a several times while staying in the area, and noticed that there aren't many photos posted already, so I wanted to add a few! The baristas are super friendly, warm and welcoming. Coffee is GREAT but iced comes with a lot of ice, so I'd recommend ordering light ice unless it's the summer or you're a slow sipper. The scones (orange cranberry & marionberry especially) are delicious- and they will warm it up for you so it feels like it just came out of the oven. Bagels and sandwiches are good, but I'd recommend the rosemary bagel in particular! All around, would recommend this place for a convenient, quick breakfast option, or an afternoon pick me up, as they're open a bit later than your average coffee spot And as always, don't forget to tip your barista! read more

In my quest to do business locally, we stopped at I Wana Moka for some much needed caffeine on Saturday morning. We ordered an Iced Peppermint Latte, and wow did we ever get ice, and a little bit of coffee too. We basically payed over $7 for a cup of ice. This is why I almost always make my coffee at home. The flavor of the coffee was great, a little too sweet, but what little we had before we ran out of coffee was good. I might return to try again, and order light ice next time, in the meantime I hope they can improve and train the baristas to cut back on the ice, I could have just went to the grocery store and bought a bag of crushed ice for much less than $7 if I was just looking for ice. My caffeine craving was not at all satisfied, and I had to make coffee at home soon after. read more

I enjoyed a peppermint white chocolate latte on a quiet Saturday morning. While they do not list all their syrups on their menu, the lady was patient in explaining the different flavors they had, and there were a bunch of seasonal flavors as well (peppermint, white chocolate, maple, gingerbread, etc). The turnaround was quick, and the coffee was yummy without the syrups being overpowering. I also liked how this place was conveniently located by the freeway. The blueberry scones are excellent, too bad the servers like to chit chat for several minutes before the person being served leaves. It's ridiculous to sit in line while the servers gossip. The mochas leave an after taste kinda like a burned butterscotch. The only reason I go there is for the blueberry scone. With the extended wait times because of gossip, the blueberry scone may not be enough to keep me coming back! read more

If you want a good coffee with a friendly smile- this is the place to go! I work down the road so I have been here a (ahem) time or two... and I have never had a bad thing to say. They use Fidaglo Island coffee so they are local as it comes, and they made a dang good cup 'a joe. The gals who work here are happy, bright and do their best to remember the regulars which is one of my favorite things in a coffee place. Check out their fun seasonal drinks and even their health shots you can put into your drink (wheatgrass immuno boost in the AM, anyone?). A little known thing about this place is that if you bring in your own bucket and label it with your name and #, they will fill it with used coffee grounds for your compost free of charge. read more

I don't usually eat breakfast, but decided to have a breakfast burrito this morning. Yelp provided the perfect answer, of course! Saw the reviews and it was close. Asked the person at the window what kind of breakfast burrito they have, and informed me ham or sausage. I choose ham. The attendant asked if I'd like salsa with that, and I replied, please yes. After a few minutes, the arm came out of the window with a small/medium foil-wrapped burrito. And I drove away. When I got home, I noticed they didn't include the salsa as requested. Grabbed some taco sauce from the fridge and tried it. I could taste that it was okay, kind of bland, and was not freshly cooked. Just assembled. I gave the lower rating because the asked if I wanted salsa and left it out. and they could try to put any kind of seasoning or even some green onions/chives into the burrito. I was very disappointed with my coffee once I finally received it, I ordered a americano with chocolate and extra ice and the shots were burnt and she forgot to put chocolate in it. My friend picked up a coffee from here this morning....this is her go to spot for a coffee and bagel in the morning, especially since they serve Bagelry bagels. I asked for a iced, decaf latte with one pump chocolate. This is my usual order around town, and without a doubt, this is the best version I've had. The balance of sweetness to coffee and milk was perfect, others I feel like it's too watery almost, not sweet enough, too sweet. Really love the coffee they use here, and overall the drink was just deliciously balanced. Will definitely be coming here now and supporting this cute little local spot. read more

Also appreciate the selections of "milk" here, including the almond milk that my friends found quite flavorful. Definitely recommend trying the scones! They serve Fidalgo Bay espresso (YUM YUM), an assortment of mixed drinks, and I'd say a more decent than average array of naughty things to appease the appetite until you can grab yourself a sensible organic meal. So, this could have been a fluke, so I'll try not to be too harsh... but, I just went here for the first time and something insane happened. I ordered a 12 oz iced americano, with a "tiny bit of milk". I'm not exaggerating when I say it didn't even look or taste like coffee because it had DO much milk in it. I was in a bit of a hurry so I didnt have them remake it, but, I ended up dumping half of it out, at work, and filling it with drip coffee. It is insane how much milk they put in it; even after doing that, it was so diluted with milk. I love this place! The coffee is great, and unlike much of its competition, the drinks are pretty consistent no matter which barista you get. I like both locations and have always found the baristas friendly. I would give it five stars, but the food isn't that great.
