In town celebrating our anniversary. Needed coffee this morning and we found ourselves at Woods Coffee. Hubby and I shared a Blueberry lemon scone and we each got a cup of the Brown Bear Dark Roast. Great choice and hit the spot! Cute little coffee shop.

In an area of north Bham where there's a noticeable absence of coffee shops and breakfast joints (I'm looking at you restaurant entrepreneurs - it's a sure thing up here on the Guide!) The Woods is a solid place to stop and grab a cup of java, plug into the free wi-fi, and get a little work done. It features the typical, rustic-chic Woods decor and their signature fireplace - both welcoming on this chilly fall day. The staff is super-friendly, including bubbly Ally at the counter who greets customers by name and serves up fast drinks with a smile. This is a busy, and slightly noisy, location so probably not the best place for a meeting or if you're trying to concentrate, but in a part of town with basically no other options it works for me!

Cold brew with vanilla Toffee nut macchiato

Coffees were good. Nothing amazing. Got the largest iced cold brew with vanilla flavor, and toffee nut macchiato (carmel drizzle with toffee nut flavor instead of vanilla) both light ice. Paid little under $12.

Such nice decor and customer service, It's a real shame about the drip coffee. We both found it to be bitter, brown water. It'd be great for them to take their coffee to the next level. I wish them continued success. UPDATE: June 2013. Highly recommend you order a Caffe Americano in place of drip at Woods. It was great.

    Best Woods ever!

I really like their coffees here and the egg bites are great! The service is always friendly too. There is always a really good vibe here.

This place is popular and BUSY (don't come here if you are in a hurry). I was going to down score them for the interior dining area. It is one huge MASSIVE open area that they packed in tables with and just put these tiny "pony walls" to provide a little bit of privacy but I didn't. Just know this.....THIS PLACE IS LOUD. I just loved the food so much they had to be 5 stars! They have a full espresso bar. Menu options are plentiful and delicious. I ordered the Blueberry Lemon Cobbler French Toast and that was impressive. Good thing I LOVE whipped cream because it came with a lot of that! Fresh blueberries went well with the lemon curd and the "cobbler" twist really worked with the French toast. A lot of the food options are big enough to share. I would definitely come back!

Definitely fluffy and the salmon was good! The side of potatoes was pretty good, a little softer than I prefer, but good. The fruit platter was where I draw the line. It was like $8 for two slices of melon and a strawberry. Insane. I have no idea how they justify that and I was super bummed to see I had paid that much for like 20 cents worth of fruit. The staff is friendly, but almost frighteningly so. They all wear skirts down to the floor and no makeup. It feels like they are all in on some secret, but I can't quite figure it out.

I made a mental note to visit their site in Bellingham. I finally had the opportunity to try Makeworth Coffee Roasters and has now become my coffee destination up north (3/29/25). Decent paid street parking availability. The cafe itself is really amazing with the two level layout, high ceilings, and abundant natural light. Various seating arrangements that was not crammed together and allowed for comfortable convo, reading, or for the laptop crowd. The front counter had visible posted menus, a pastry case, and various coffee roasts to choose from. The layout allowed for efficient customer flow for ordering, pickup, and takeout. Welcoming barista staff - no hipster attitude. There's also other merch available for purchase. Overhead music and interior aesthetic added to the pleasant environment. Enjoyed my mocha, thankful for the clean restroom before hitting the road, and look forward to trying the purchased roast for brewing at home. Definitely recommended!
