In an area of north Bham where there's a noticeable absence of coffee shops and breakfast joints (I'm looking at you restaurant entrepreneurs - it's a sure thing up here on the Guide!) The Woods is a solid place to stop and grab a cup of java, plug into the free wi-fi, and get a little work done. It features the typical, rustic-chic Woods decor and their signature fireplace - both welcoming on this chilly fall day. The staff is super-friendly, including bubbly Ally at the counter who greets customers by name and serves up fast drinks with a smile. This is a busy, and slightly noisy, location so probably not the best place for a meeting or if you're trying to concentrate, but in a part of town with basically no other options it works for me! read more

I LOVE the Lynden, WA based chain Woods Coffee, and am looking forward to a new one opening in Edmonds any day. Their pastries fresh and delicious, and their coffee is roasted perfectly but in spite of their excellent drinks and sizes without cryptic Italian names (their sizes are Spruce, Cedar, Redwood, & Giant Redwood), and their whipped cream which is not only pleasantly sweet enough to enjoy, but is infused with a hint of marshmallow flavor (amazingly delicious) Their people are always SO FRIENDLY AND KIND. My son is a barista and I know the pressures they can face, but I'm sitting here tonight with Will, an absolutely amazing, friendly guy who made me feel like he has all the time I need even though he appears to be the only one holding things down tonight and is making drinks for walk-ins and a busy drive-up window, keeping everything spotless, and appears to be ddoing side-work to close the place all by himself. Will is a shot-pulling, brewing, drink blending, order taking, change making rockstar! And everyone I have seen here on Guide Meridian, at their Roastery in Bellingham, Birch Bay Outlet Mall, Lynden strip-mall, and their new Bothell stores have all been impressive, inviting, and friendly. I wish Woods continued success, wish Will a manager position if he wants one, and wish above all that I could buy stock in this chain.... but they are privately owned... which may be why their people function like family. read more

Love Woods coffee but there is inconsistencies which is a let down. An Avalanche should be the same at Barkley as it is Lakeway as it should have been at this unit. Not the first time but in this situation it seemed a problem to fix the issue. Hope it gets better because I don't them to turn into Starbucks or the others that have failed. read more

"Damn good coffee... and hot!" -Agent Cooper In search of a hot cup o' joe on the Guide Meridian recently, it was nice to find a coffee shop that is *not* Starbucks. The Woods has pretty much exactly the same goods as the green mermaid, but this local chain only has a handful of locations in Whatcom County (compared to a bazillion worldwide). The interior of this place was clean and inviting, and the the staff was friendly and efficient. Cool. read more

Its okay here. The decor is the same as other Woods location. The layout didnt feel right, it felt unbalanced. Dining area and bathrooms were clean though. Service was quick as it can get really busy here. I ordered a cold brew with cream and chocolate and it looked weird compared to the way its made at another Woods location I frequent. First time ever at Woods. Always been a Starbucks fan. Moved here from out of state. As far as coffee goes, extremely impressed I must add. Got a delicious spruce Latte. The pastries were not my favorite--as far as taste is concerned, the Starbucks lemon loaf outperforms Woods. Plus my lemon loaf must have been sitting out for such a long time, cos it was hard. And my friends lemon loaf had fuzzies on the icing. So I'm deducting a star for the loaf and giving the Latte a fair four stars for being so freaking yummy!! read more

Staff are very friendly and the barista gave me an extra shot for free since it's Monday and completely empty. Plus, if you really want the Christmas feels, come here. There are stringed lights, stockings on the fireplace mantel, and great traditional Christmas music. :) read more

Sept 16, 2018. Stopped by for my usual veggie breakfast wrap. Told it was no longer being offered, would I like an egg frittata instead? The wrap was great for those who have to grab a quick breakfast on the road. It is a sad result that it is gone. The frittata is bland, comes in a box and needs a fork to eat it. Not a good road warrior option. Too bad, I like the coffee. Sorry Woods, I'll find another place. read more

I've been here once before during an eight hour mission to seek out great bargains that only the US could provide in terms of grocery and clothing. It seems to be my coffee hot spot so to speak before we start to shop until we drop. I went the first time for the bacon maple scone which the guy that I am dating said was good, however, wasn't that impressed. I kept thinking of ways I could make it better and in cupcake form. It was lacking in sugar which didn't bring out the dimensions of flavors. Overall it ended up being a flop. Good idea on paper, however, the taste buds had another verdict. I was ready to dismiss this place right off the bat, however, the awesome and cheerful customer out weighed the sorry excuse for a scone the first time. This time I went for instant oatmeal and was unimpressed. They used steel cut oatmeal instead of quick outs which meant that no matter how hot the water was, it still was still undercooked (steel cut needs at least 5 minutes at simmer over a stove top). I barely even had 3 bites before chucking it away. Their saving grace seems to be with the tea and from what others have said, their coffee. What saved this establishment from a low rating is that they carried Stevia as an alternative sweetener which is something that is rarely, if at all, seen. The fact that they encourage alternatives to the alternative was enough to impress me. Bottom line...come for the coffee, don't stay for the baked goods. read more

This location used to be a Starbucks, then a Tully's and now The Woods Coffee. Let's just hope it stays The Woods now! I have seen a lot of reviews for The Woods Coffee that attempt to compare it to Starbucks, and I will not attempt to do that because I think Woods is in an entirely different league than Starbucks. There are three things, in my opinion, that make The Woods stand above the competition. They are atmosphere, specialty drinks, and friendly customer service. I can't comment on the drip coffee because I have not tried it yet. The atmosphere varies slightly from one location to the next, but they all stay within the theme of earth-tone/modern/cabin. What I really like about The Woods its that they fit somewhere between national coffee chain and local coffee stand. This is good because they have several locations, but they don't feel like a corporate chain. I always like trying their holiday and special drinks and haven't been disappointed yet. When it comes to customer service, I've always found the baristas to be friendly and professional. My wife told them she was getting tired of the pumpkin white mocha and they offered a suggestion of something similar (brown sugar and cinnamon pumpkin latte) which was great! read more
