3 items comes with free soup (dine-in)
Amy T.

This is one of those 2, 3, 4 item quick pick Chinese food places, except 1 of your item quotas must be the fried rice or chowmein. I chose the 3 item option with half and half fried rice and chowmein, and eggplant tofu and beef & broccoli. They give you huge portions so a 3 item plate is definitely shareable between 2 people. We were told we have free soup with the meal, unsure if a certain item number is required and whether it must be dine-in. Everything tasted just "okay" flavorwise. I liked the egg flower soup which had bits of corn in it.

Shrimp fried rice ! 4 item combo plate. Honey walnut shrimp!

Amazing experience went around lunch time. First time there the honey walnut shrimp is a must !!!

3-item plate... half Chicken Chow Mein, half B.B.Q Pork Fried Rice, mixed vegetables and Walnut Prawns

First and foremost ... let me just get this out there... as this was my first visit and I didn't know... Your "side" dish is part of your "item" count... so be aware if you get a rice or noodle dish paired with two more entrees, technically that is a 3-Item plate. There are a few "sneaky ways" you can end up getting up-charged for menu items, so make sure to take note of prices before you add them to your order! One is the item count I mentioned from above, and the other is that certain items are considered "premium" like shrimp, etc. So be mindful! On the particular day I visited, the line was short but took a while as the gentleman up front had some trouble with the cash register and understanding that I wanted to add a drink to my order. All in all, this is your average run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. Clean, decent portions and lots of variety. Food was decent enough, but didn't impress. Service and seating space could use an upgrade... but ... you get what you pay for. I don't think i'll be visiting again any time soon.... there just isn't enough about this place to "bring me back."

this local sunnyvale spot consistently makes delicious food at affordable prices. i always get the same thing here and it's enough to feed 2 ppl for $15. food: - BBQ pork chow mein ($10.95) (need to call in advance to place this order, or wait inside for 5 min while they make it) - hot and sour soup cup (~$3) don't forget to add hot chili oil/hot sauce to the noods and pepper to the soup and you got yourself a fire meal. nice alternative to panda, and gotta support the grandma/grandpa power couple running the restaurant

Quick and yummy Chinese food. If you don't wanna cook dinner, it's the place to go. I really like their chow mein and string beans.

Is there anything gluten sensitive? Like plain grilled shrimp or chicken, etc?

Regrettably, we don’t have any dishes that are safe for those with gluten sensitivities.

Is there a timeline yet of when you will re-open? I've heard August 2019 and then December 2019. We're into 2020 now and am wondering if this place still plans to re-open..

They are reopened for business

Hi! Is the restaurant open for business again?

The combination of meat, veggies and the exterior crispy pancake created such an outstanding tasting effect. The lamb dish had one of the most tender meats I've tasted. The brown sugar sticky rice cake was soft inside and hard outside; with just the right amount of sweetness. Service was ok. They should've been kinder and more grateful. I liked how they have a sign posted on window saying that gratuity is at free will and you don't pay for the wrong dish they send to you. It showed accountability. That's why we keep coming back, for now.

There was no line for us to be seated. I was able to flag down a server to seat us since they seem to be extremely busy cleaning tables and servicing others. The hotpots are full of ingredients and the broth has always been tasty. Unfortunately, the meats seem to be overcooked. Prices have been going up over the years where only the monthly special is enticing for the value. Servers were friendly and checked in on us, but it took 25 minutes for our food to show up at our table after we ordered. The only consistent experience I've had are the oranges at the end of the meal. They are always amazingly sweet, juicy, and comes off the peel easily. I don't usually enjoy oranges, but I love the ones HomeEat offers! Will be back if in the area, but hope kitchen service will be quicker in the future.

We knew to go early, since they don't take reservations and we often see lines outside. We arrived at 10:30am and the front manager said if we can be done my 12:30, that they had a table for us. Party of 12, since we got there early, we agreed. The side room had the biggest round table for us. They ask you what kind of tea you want, we like chrysanthemum tea. You order the items on the paper menu and it comes to your table. So we got going on the orders and TBH, we must be hungry, because we did a lot of orders (we had plenty of left overs). Tried some favorites and a few new items that we thought were unique to their restaurant. My dad has to order crispy noodle and chow fun, and we also ordered chicken fried rice. The service was prompt and attentive, with enough servers to take care of the side room. Since it was the "sun room", the sun was shining through the windows and it was bright. Review from my parents: it was just meh, they prefer the other place near our house. I think the food is good, but probably won't come back again with a big group of us, since they don't have many big round tables. And personally, I prefer the whole experience of the ladies coming around with their carts. Perhaps their dinner menu is also worth trying. Bonus for us is that we can literally walk to this restaurant. Parking could be an issue if you come later.

Ironically, I'm not a fan of them myself--they're a bit too eggy for my taste. When it comes to dim sum quality and service, I honestly prefer Koi Palace. The food quality there is more consistent, and the service is much more phenomenal. The only things this place really has over Koi Palace are the lower prices and those black sesame custard buns my friend loves! I've been here at least a dozen times, and the food can be hit or miss. Sometimes dishes come out cold, like they've been sitting out for a while instead of being served fresh and hot. That said, there are a few items we always order that are consistently good when brought out fresh like salted crispy pork chops, siu mai, shrimp rolls, and fried calamari. Be prepared for a wait on weekends since it gets crowded. If you're coming with a large group, it's best to arrive before noon. The restaurant is located next to a hotel, and finding the restroom can be confusing since it's inside the hotel. Service is also pretty minimal--they seem understaffed, and I almost always have to flag someone down just to get basics like soy sauce, chili, and water. I don't understand why they don't just have the sauce on the table for guest to dip, but I get that they're saving $ on controlling the cost down. On my most recent visit, the experience really went downhill. Our table had food but no soy sauce, chilli nor water, and when I flagged a waiter multiple times, he got visibly annoyed and irritated. It was frustrating--we shouldn't have to chase someone down repeatedly for basic condiments. Being met with attitude for that honestly left a bad impression. That experience alone makes me reconsider coming back. Good food at a good price is one thing, but poor service--especially to that extent--can really ruin the overall experience.

At 10:50, there was a huge crowd of people waiting to be seated, 30+ and 20+ orders to go. We did not get our order until after 12:10. They forgot our bbq pork buns. We called and they will credit our cc. Fook kin rice was good. Salt & pepper pork was a little soggy. Dim sum was okay. All of it was not hot and fresh. It was still good because it did not taste frozen or have msg. We think this is one of the better dim sum restaurants in the area.

We arrived around 1 PM on a Sunday and were told it would be a 20-25 minute wait. That was fine. But when we were seated we noticed the carts did not have much food. So we ordered 4 dim sum items off the menu. No one told us how long it would take to get these items. We ordered traditional dim sum items and at most dim sum places it would just take a few minutes. But after 20 minutes, nothing had arrived. We asked one of the workers and he angrily told us it takes a long time to prepare them. After 5 minutes one item showed up. But after waiting 20 minutes we decided to leave. As we were paying the bill, another item showed up so we just took it home. What bothered me most was no one apologized for the long wait, offered to somehow compensate, etc. They just acted like another day at Saigon Seafood Harbor.
