I can agree with all the reviews that say Woking Dragon has the best Chinese food in the Tri-Cities. There isn't really much to debate there, but the key factor in confirming that experience is to get it for take-out. It isn't that the restaurant has anything really wrong with it (although the bathrooms, while appearing to be newly renovated, were in terrible condition) but it just lacks a welcoming atmosphere. The bar area features big tvs and bar seating plus a few tables, but it's narrow and very shiny. The dining area is smaller than it once was and includes a combination of tables and booths. Again, it isn't that there's anything terrible going on, it's just really brightly lit and the music is kind of loud. All the neon and the nice wall mural could be the anchor for a really cool vibe, but with nothing to bring it together it just feels disjointed. Thankfully, we were sticking to the takeout rule and were only there for a few minutes while we picked up our food. The staff are always young, friendly, helpful, and plentiful. As others have mentioned, it's on the expensive side. read more

I wanted to compare this restaurant with the many authentic Chinese restaurants in the geographical area and this was the first time that I placed an order from the Woking Dragon. The girls who took my order were very friendly and were beautiful! Unfortunately, the food wasn't. The sweet and sour pork had so much cornstarch/flour coating it, by the time I opened the container, it was one large clump of pork with little meat on it. The bright red sauce wasn't bad and my mother in law seemed to enjoy it. The chicken chow mein had no chicken in it. (?) The noodles were ok but they should call this dish, chowmein noodles only. The beef and broccoli: the broccoli was undercooked and too crunchy and the beef pieces were unrecognizable and flavourless. The yang chow fried rice was the best of all four dishes from the four that I had ordered for just under $80.00. Something told me something wasn't right because when I picked up my dinner at 6:30 on a Saturday night, there were only two caucasian ladies seated in the restaurant. This is evidently a "Gwai-low" Chinese restaurant, which caters to the Canadian palate but unfortunately I have been overly spoiled by authentic Chinese food, especially since I'm married to a beautiful, brown-eyed Shanghai girl. This is definitely the best Chinese food in the Tri Cities and I'm shocked to see that their rating isn't much higher. Reading through the negative reviews and most complain about delivery wait times or how busy they are ‍. The food is a great blend of the classics but with a modern twist. We order from there often and it's hard to not just go with your favourites over and over again, but do yourself a favour and broaden your horizons and try at least one new dish each time. I called them and told them to cancel the order but got a call back that I still had to pay for for it. So now I'm getting food that's been sitting on their counter for an hour. Eat In: I give it 2.5 stars Delivery: I give it 2 stars Only ate at this place inside the resto once, the ambience and service is pretty average. We ordered combination for one and they aren't bad. I like that you can substitute the chowmein for fried rice instead for no extra charge. Although, I must say the sweet sour pork was ok, it wasn't the normal sweet and sour pork. It is more on the tangy side and very saucy. There should be a balance just my opinion. Oh and the deep fried pawn was meh, not crispy but soggy. Other than that everything else was ok. As for delivery, certain food was good and certain food wasn't good. 1st delivery was with wonton soup and it tasted funny like burnt and bitter not sure why. Second, their portion compare to Hons is very small. Third, do not get their dry garlic pork spareribs. It was disappointing. I think they put so much garlic on it that you can barely see any pork. It will also leave you with everything garlic taste after eating this. I barely even touched it. See pictures for yourself. My name is Gilles Vezina and I went on father's day( forgot it was) to the Dragon to order and pick up dinner for one. Super busy but they accomodate me by giving me a table right away so I can have a beverage comfortably while I'm waiting. They took my order when I decided it was the proper time to do so. I have been notified that the food was getting closer to be serve. Of course it takes a bit longer it's Father's Day. But nice that the staff is concern about that. Super polite staff with great server skills . I was observing great team work. Those young ladies are running the show perfectly. Fantastic! . Ordered the Family Combo ("C" I believe) and ordered the spring rolls for New Year's Eve. Got it delivered and timing was good. Food was really fresh. I would go back! The only thing is I thought the Chop suey (veg dish) was a bit boring as it was basically all broccolis. Placed an order for take out and ended up disappointed with what was packed in the take out bag. We ordered 5 dishes for 4 folks and it wasn't cheap. The food wasn't the best we've had but it was decent so no complaints there. The problem was they put in two tiny packages of soy sauce, no plum sauce, no chopsticks and no fortune cookies. The price they charge should really come with enough sauce for the amount of folks eating, chop sticks, and fortune cookies without having to ask. The kids were extremely disappointed about not being able to use the chopsticks and open a fortune cookie after their meal. One lost star for the lack of the chopsticks and fortune cookies, one lost star for not supplying enough soy and plum sauce and one lost star for disappointing a family. read more

Restaurant is in an awkward plaza with little shops. Not somewhere you'd expect a restaurant. Decor is on point. Very trendy, clean and modern. The food is basic. Not authentic. There was NOT one Asian person in the kitchen. The food was very westernized and lacked the Asian flavours I would only recommend this restaurants to people who don't have a huge experience with Chinese food. My absolutely favorite new take out and delivery since COVID hit! Love the Salted Prawns, Wontons are you die for and customer service is amazing!!! Beef chow fun, Ginger Beef & Won Ton Soup are other favorites. Super appreciate the contactless delivery and how delivery person always calls to make sure they left at right place before leaving food unattended. Very impressed with the customer service received yesterday. I gave a phone call to make sure my online order was confirmed. During the time, they told me it might be 70 mins or more for order to arrived. I hesitate and ask them to cancel bc I have a starving toddler. Staff called me back and say they will make it within the hour. The food arrived in about 40 to 45 mins from phone call to door. Very happy customer. We have been going to this restaurant through many owners ever since it opened. The best Chinese food in the lower mainland. We did takeout for our grandson's wedding anniversary dinner tonight. The food was drowning in crumbled garlic and almost inedible. Nobody went back for seconds. All you could taste was garlic. I called to complain and was basically told "who cares". Welp this has been our go-to chinese establiahment for years, but the most recent menu changes may have us heading elsewhere more often. Son't get me wrong, it's still good... but it's lacking the special moments that made Woking Dragon extraordinary. Gone is the house special crispy noodle. In its place is very standard chicken chow mein. The same kind of chow mein your typical chinese food place has been making since the 70s. The ginger beef strips, once another favorite of ours, is now extra sweet with a sweet and sour sauce or something. It has a little extra spicy kick, which is nice, but it doesn't have the ginger magic it used to. The chop suey is middle-of-the-road as well. Just a few basic veggies in classic cornstarchy thickened goo. So in conclusion. Want chinese food you remember from your childhood? Come here. If you're looking for something special then Woking Dragon needs to return to their old ways. read more

Soooo, I've been ordering from here for years! I moved 5 blocks down the streat and now they don't deliver to me because I'm out of their district (5 blocks) . This is complete bullshit. I call once in a while and depending on the manager on duty that night, he says yah or nah! That being said I'm very disappointed as this is clearly become a cash grab outfit, and not interested in keeping long-term customers. I thought I would try this restaurant for the first time and had the food delivered. I ordered the #3 for one person. There wasn't much Almond Chicken and Vegetables. The Sweet and Sour Pork was VERY SOUR but they provide you with plenty of noodles which also lacked flavour. I wont be ordering from there again. read more

These folks are fast and have decent food but a couple times now they have forgotten to put the lemon sauce in the order for the lemon chicken. By the time you realize it's missing it's too late to go back and get it so you're stuck with plain chicken pieces :( The first time they did and we told them they made it right by not charging the next time we ordered it but the second time we didn't even bother telling them because we'll most likely not go back. read more

Woking Dragon is Westernized Chinese, but there's nothing wrong with that; its just that if you're looking for an "authentic experience", you should steer yourself somewhere else. But if that's OK with you, then you'll like Woking Dragon. I thought our three dishes (crispy chow mein, schezuan cod, fiery prawns) were carried off very nicely. I wasn't as big a fan of the sauce on the cod, but the fish itself was a big portion for two and it was perfectly done. The fiery shrimp - their name for spicy salt & pepper shrimp - was a bit salty but the heat was right on. Again, cooked very nicely but I would have preferred less batter. The chow-mein was chow mein - it passed my kids' taste test :) Generous portions, prompt service, nice setting and the washrooms were clean! No liquor license though which surprised me. We got there at 8pm on Saturday and the place was fairly busy. We had a group of 5 and were seated right away. They had great friendly and prompt service. We ordered 5 main dished plus fried rice. For a non-traditional Chinese restaurant, this place is still exceptional. The flavour, quality and freshness are Westernized Chinese food at its best. The portions greatly mirror the price, very decent. Ambiance is also non-traditional but the style, colour scheme and lighting created a warm cozy dine out feel. The customer service is also high quality as the servers are very attentive and organically friendly, which compared to many traditional Chinese restaurants, is almost like night and day. (Traditional Chinese restaurants typically don't focus too much on customer service since they recognize that their food greatly makes up for it) I will definitely come back here when I have the craving and will suggest this place to family and friends. read more

My date wanted the big table (yes the one meant for 8-10 people) and the server was nice enough to accommodate us. The food came quickly and was delicious. I highly recommend the Yang Chow friend rice, and the beef and broccoli. The chow mein was OK too. Their win selection was simple but adequate and paired well with our food. Service was prompt and friendly and pricing was reasonable. I loved it and would recommend it. There is plenty of free parking outside in the complex. For a chinese restaurant this is probably one of the nicest ones I've seen. My date commented on how nice the bar was built and I found that the interior decoration and paint scheme worked to produce a nicer atmosphere than some other Chinese restaurants I've been to. The bathrooms were clean which is kind of my personal standard for a Chinese restaurant. The food was good and the service was great! Would highly recommend you try this place. My favorite Schzechuan / Chinese food I've ever had, hands down. I may be a bit bias, because it has always been in my neighborhood, and it used to be "Lee's Kitchen". The great thing was, when the new owners took over, they used the same menu and recipes with a few new items and tweaks (like the black bean crab is no longer on the menu, but they say you can pre-order it a day before and they will buy the crab and make it for you). I have tried many other places around Vancouver, and the Tri-Cities, and can honestly say, it's the most flavorful of all the Chinese restaurants I've tried, and I "trust it". Take that as you will. Best lemon chicken and hot and sour soup I've ever eaten, The only reason I'm knocking off a star is because the service is very slow and the hostesses or waitresses are quite young, not friendly, and not prompt at all. I've never enjoyed their dine-in service really, and only for this reason. I'm not one to care too much about immaculate waitressing, but when you wait 10 minutes until someone asks you if you want something to drink, it's a problem and no exaggeration. Considering that it's a relatively small restaurant, this shouldn't be an issue. I've been there so many times in my life, and within the last few years, every time without fail, we're waiting 10-15 minutes for someone to ask us for something to drink. For your all around dining experience, these are the first minutes that count for your customers and needs to be fixed asap. Prompter service please! The food comes out at normal time after ordering, that is not a problem, you don't wait too long at all, maybe 10 minutes at MAX but they bring out the dishes that are ready first. But if the watiresses were more prompt, we'd go there more, but we get take-out a lot. That is the only reason I'm knocking off a star. Other than that, the food is bloody excellent, and highly recommended if you don't mind waiting 10-15 minutes to get a glass of wine, water or tea. read more
