This is a total surprise for us to try out this hidden gem! Thanks to the very rude and inconsiderate Hostess at another restaurant 3 doors down, we decided to give Jade Valley a try, once entered into the dining room we already were very impressed with how tidy and clean and well decorated this Chinese Restaurant is! The lady that served us, provided us with tea and menu, there is also a lunch menu along with the regular menu. Since we felt like some soup noodle, we ordered a large portion of Seafood Noodles in Soup, and a Chicken in Black Bean Sauce from the Lunch Menu. Both items came out pipping hot and we totally enjoyed both items. Still feeling a bit hungry we decided to order a Singapore Style Fried Rice Vermicelli ( a tad on the spicy side but we loved it ), and I have to say that was also outstandingly done by the Chef as well! Foodwise, it is of good quality and was made with care (you can tell by the way the kitchen was set up, it was also meticulously clean, we had a few peeks into the kitchen when food was being delivered and the kitchen swing doors were opened). But the extra Stars that I am awarding this restaurant is their overall cleanliness and their very friendly service! We were looking for a small asian restaurant and decided to try Jade Valley. We were very impressed from the moment we walked in the door. The restaurant was extremely clean and neat, decorated very tastefully. We looked over the extensive menu and decided on ginger and pineapple chicken as well as Szechuan beef and mushrooms with some steamed rice. After the first taste we knew we had made a great decision. This was probably the best Chinese food we have ever had. They will be seeing a lot of us in the near future. read more

Okay so we were coming back from North Van and my gf was so hungry so we pulled over to find a place to order take out. When we got home we were very surprised to see how fresh it was. Crispy and delicious deep fried prawns and chicken balls nicely breaded with good chicken inside. Chowmein was tasty with veggies and the sweet and sour pork was also very nicely done. I came here because of the 4 stars on Yelp. This is not your typical Chinese restaurant. This is one of your fancy Asian restaurants in Surrey. The restaurant is very elegant, the decor is very modern (the lightening fixtures are modern and very beautiful) The combination of the warm brown & dark brown gives it a very calming and homey environment. The moment you walk in you feel at home and calm. The waitress and staff are very professionally dressed in blacks & white. There's 165 things on the menu to choose from. Lots of variety and options to choose from. They have live crab and seafood options. They also have a wine menu. You get tea served. It makes sense why the restaurant is pricey. They serve you tea instead of water and you don't get water unless you ask for it. The food was ok, I chose the beef and vegetable chow mein looked like something I'd make a home... and the taste wasn't any different. It actually made me wish I had waited to have gotten home to make my own. The top of the chow mein had long noodles and as you get to the middle it's all chopped up into pieces which made it hard for it to stay on the fork... which really irritated me. The only veggies on the chow mein was buk Choy. I found a few pieces that were old and looked like they were drying out & beaten. Over all I don't really know how I felt about the place the food was ok but not worth the price. If you like fancy decor, expensive Asian food, wine, seafood & dont mind paying $15 for a bowl of chow mein this is your place. Unfortunately not mine. read more

Absolute crooks! Have ordered here numerous times in the past directly from the restaraunt. This time I ordered exactly what we usually got but received a portion 1/2 that we usually do.The order came to $90 ans was barely enough to feed a family of 4. I Called the restaraunt to find out if there had been an error, but was told rather rudely that because I ordered through Uber Eats I received a smaller portion (depsite the price being the same as ordering from thr restaraunt). The owner stated that Unber eats charged them 30% more to deliver, so I receive 30% less food when ordering through Uber Eats. I expressed my disappointment and after stating that I was a loyal customer and would appreciate they remedy thr problem, was rudely hung up on. This is just greedflation amd pure dishonesty. They have lost my business and I will be reporting thrm to Uber Eats too. Do not support this dishonest read more

I gave this restaurant a try, based on yelp reviews. I must admit that I was not as smitten as some of the other reviewer's. I ordered takeout. Five dishes for $80. One of the orders was incorrect. I don't know who is training the employees but they're customer service is garbage. This is the second time I got the worst customer from their employees. The employees will argue and give you the hardest time when they mess up your order. First time I got bad service I changed my mind and wanted to go with the combo. The girl gave me the hardest time and said she can't give me the combo because she punched it in already and it'll look bad on her. Spent my whole dinner experience away from my family to wait for her to contact her manager to give permission to give me the combo. Second time the guy misunderstood and gave us mango bits rather than the pudding. It was a misunderstanding but instead of fixing it and apologizing for the misunderstanding the guy argued with us and gave us a tiny piece of pudding. Giving us our drink he corrected us again. I've worked in customer service so I understand how it is so I'm pretty patient but seriously their employees need to be retrained. Don't argue with the customer just smile and apologize cuz it's about the bigger picture. Customer service makes or breaks a company. read more

I ordered a huge meal from Jade Valley for my Mom's birthday dinner. It was the first time I'd gotten anything there, so I was pretty anxious about it being a good and hassle-free experience. The total cost for a meal for six people came to $128.00+tx. That's not too pricey, in my opinion. Some places are certainly less, but some are more. :) I ordered for pick up just as they were opening and they told us it would be ready in around 30 minutes. Unfortunately, it was closer to 45 minutes. My babies were pretty grumpy by the time we got the food. I don't know if ordering so soon after opening had anything to do with that, but I'd expect a tighter time estimation. The food, however, was AMAZING. So, so good. Miles better than the Chinese restaurant we had been eating from before. Every single person eating that food said it was the best Chinese food they had had in a while! I was so relieved that my Mom's birthday dinner was so yummy. Plus there was a decent amount of food. The quantity I'd ordered was what I thought would be enough for everyone to eat their fill and also have some leftovers the next day, but no way. The containers were scraped clean. Greeted by friendly staff and able to offer good suggestions that we don't typically order. The environment was cozy and they have a few craft beers as well. The food was delicious, easily on the same level as restaurants in Vancouver and Richmond. The wine list isn't very comprehensive and they don't do cocktails which was unfortunate. I've been actually very dissapointed today. I had my worst Dai Ching Chicken, with too many big ognions, not a good sauce, no rice when it already costs $16! They look very expensive for the low quality they provide... The small Wonton soupe also tasted different, at $8+. For the record, I used to have the best Dai Ching Chicken for just $13, with rice and a Wonton soup included, at Wonderful Szechuan restaurant at Lynn Valley. Tried this restaurant because our regular place was closed. As it is a family thing that we all order Chineses Take out on April 17. We had the order delivered and that was in a timely fashion. I found the bill for our standard order to be over 50% more than usual. After checking the menu that came with the order I was astonished by their high prices. I can live with a higher price if the cost is reflected in the quality of the food but unfortunately this was not the case myself and those in attendance described the food as below food fair quality. I stopped ordering Chinese food years ago because it was becoming so tasteless and soggy. But one night I had a craving so I thought I give these guys a try. The food was fantastic! The breaded almond chicken was crisp and everything else was so flavorful. The veggies in the chop suey were colourful, and delish! Me and my husband devoured it, it was that good. I told the man who took my delivery order, "No peppers".. He clarified, "You mean green peppers?" I emphasized, "No green, red, or chili peppers!" The order came, and there were chili pepper flakes in the orange chicken. I called and told him that there were chili pepper flakes in the orange chicken. He said I said no green peppers, and I told him that I specified no green, red, or chili peppers. I asked if he was going to give me a credit on my next order, and he said he had to ask the manager. He came back on the phone and said if I brought the orange chicken back to the restaurant, he would give me a refund. If I had wanted to go to the restaurant, I wouldn't have ordered delivery! The rest of the food was OK, except the "special" fried rice had very little in it except rice, so I would have to say that food court fried rice is better. Food so so, service poor. read more

We had been going to another Chinese restaurant in Surrey for a number of years and up until lately had always enjoyed it, we wont be going back. So, without any recommendations, we took a chance and tried the Jade Valley Restaurant last night and it was some of the best Chinese food I had ever eaten. My Wife, Brother and I, thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service staff were friendly and provided excellent service. the food was excellent and we will be ordering delivery and take out from there from now on...we will also visit there when we feel like dining out. The Ginger Beef, Orange Chicken and Squid with Spicy Salt were all excellent dishes, The Beef Lettuce wrap makes and excellent appetizer, the portions are perfect and the food is very flavourable...to thumbs up from this guy! read more

This is my first review on a restaurant, but after my experience with this restaurant I had to warn people. My bf and I had ordered delivery from here Saturday and it was one of the worst experiences I've every had with a restaurant. We ordered the dinner for two combo. Reasonably priced and seemed a lot of food. We requested to have the beef chop suey substituted for another entree. The waitress said there me an additional charge. We said no problem. After an hour out food finally arrived(even that I could forgive). And that's went it went sour. Not only did we not get the substitution we requested our sweet and sour pork had be replaced with beefiness beef chop suey. After calling the restaurant(and speaking at length)and waiting for them to call me back the resolution that they came up with was we had to bring our meal back and pay extra to get what we had ordered. Even after explaining that the whole point of ordering delivery was because we didn't have a car he still refused to correct their mistake. And after that the food WASN'T good. Everything was bland and the chop suey was slimy. If you want better Chinese food go to Scottsdale mall. read more

Probably explains why they use dessert plates as their main course plates. Second, our server was SO disrespectful that it's hard to believe she's human. When we asked for spoons, she again didn't give us enough. When we asked for more, she told us they didn't have anymore! What kind of restaurant runs out of spoons? She also didn't provide water. When we asked for some, she didn't give enough cups. Then when we asked for more, she never came back with some. Worst of all, she complained about our tip!
