We ordered a combination dinner for 2 on Feb 02, 26 and were very disappointed. The prawn batter was rock hard and over cooked. The sweet and sour had a piece of plastic in it. Our go to place in North Delta (Asian Jazz) closed down, so we came to Main Choice and ordered our regular dishes for take out so we could compare apples to apples. Ordered Lemon Chicken (sauce very thin and not lemony enough), crispy ginger beef - just ok (loved Asian Jazz ginger beef as it was more flavorful), and Yong Chow fried rice-big portion but Asian Jazz better. We came here for a quick and delicious Chinese dinner in surrey. The service was great and food came out fast. The ginger beef and the sweet and sour pork were both my top favourite dish. The ginger beef has a special ginger tastes to it that makes it more gingery in a good way and the sweet and sour pork has a fantastic crunch to it that is unique to this restaurant. I have never tasted this kind of crispy ginger beef. The beef chow fun and the chicken fried rice is what you would expect from an authentic Chinese restaurant but better becauseits not salty. It's perfectly seasoned. What makes these dishes so great is the wok smell that takes it to another level and make it authentically gooood! The almond chicken was generously covered in almond which is quite rare to see. Apparently, it's a common chicken chicken dish but this is the first time I've had it. The chicken was juicy inside, the batter was crispy and the almond gives it a nutty flavor. The shrimp tempura was a good size. It came with a sweet and sour sauce. The tempura was light and crispy which made them so so good. If I am in Surrey again, I will be making another visit here. read more

App was okay and did the job placing our food order. The photos on their website is not necessarily reflective of what you might get. We ordered the special chow mein ($12.95) and it was very different from the photo (ie much less veggies in real life), BBQ pork fried rice ($9, no greens), sweet and sour chicken balls ($12.95) and wonton soup ($4.95). Overall, the food was decent for Canadian Chinese. The chicken balls were fried okay. It was not as fresh by the time I got to eating it but it tasted alright. This really a 3.5 star review. Like others have mentioned, given the location of the restaurant no one would expect anything tasty to cone out of here but hey never judge a book right....There is a sort of odd chemical smell inside the restaurant and no music but very clean. The lady at the counter is very nice, but it took awhile for my order to be taken, there were 2 take out orders to be filled ahead of me. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken. The chicken is breast meat, the flavor was great. The side of rice was a bit hard and not very sticky as I would prefer. The chicken corn soup is great, really.enjoyed it. They should be using real chicken like they use for their almond chicken.. really weird for them to use those nuggets. My hubby and I ordered take out from this place. Over all it was good deal and portions. The BBQ fried rice looks very dark and not as tasty as I thought. I told the lady we have gluten and dairy allergy. She was helpful with our gluten- free& dairy free diet beside complaining in Cantonese to her co-worker that our allergies are troublesome for them ( she thought I don't understand what she is saying in the background ) The Seafood with mix veggies/ fried curry thick noodles with beef and chicken cream corn soup was good! Yesterday my two friends and I were celebrating one's birthday, two months later, due to COVID 19. I was left to order and had no idea where to try next - so I followed my gut and read some reviews. Main Choice sounded good. I placed an order when they opened at 4 p.m. and asked if I could pick up at 4:45 p.m. When I arrived, the food had just been packed up and was still hot when I got home. I've been trying to come here for over a year! First time we tried they were closed for some reason (it was posted on the door). Second time it was closed and it was totally my fault for not checking the times. Third time us the charm! We shared a small war won ton - were advised to get the small instead of the large - it came with six won tons, two pieces of pork, one prawn and loads of vegetables. The won tons had really amazing flavour! The broth was a little lacking but it was overall really good! We then both had the sweet and sour pork, fried prawn and chicken chow mein combos. Really good. I would totally get this again. Prices are decent, food is fast! The only major downside is that the restaurant is right next to a lawnmower repair place and the techs were in the restaurant for lunch. The smell of fuel was super overwhelming. Ordered delivery from this place for the first time tonight & was not disappointed for the largest part. We got the prawns w/vegetables, beef and broccoli, almond chicken w/lemon sauce, wor wonton, fried rice w/chicken, shrimp, mushrooms & other assorted veggies. Even the delivery man, an older Asian guy, was very nice. Needless to say, he was tipped. Everything arrived nice and hot, packaged very well & more quickly than we were told. We also got the menu we asked for, along with fortune cookies & condiments. It's worth mentioning that we never get fortune cookies from Chinese restaurants in the Central City area. All of the meat, seafood & veggies were incredibly fresh and not at all overcooked. We were quite impressed. Portions of every dish were larger than from other typical Chinese-Canadian restaurants and nothing was oversalted or oily, not even the delicious deep fried almond chicken. Love the fact that they also cut the corners off the takeout boxes for anything that's deep fried to prevent it from getting soggy. Attention to detail always impresses me. This is very crispy almond chicken, thick pieces of it, not the usual type you get from most Chinese places, beaten thinner than a piece of paper with far more batter than chicken. Main Choice makes almond chicken right. The only small negatives were that we would've liked triple the vegetables in the fried rice - we just love vegetables - and the lemon sauce needed a bit more fresh lemon juice added to it, which we did ourselves. Other than that, absolutely no complaints. We've been looking for a good Chinese restaurant close to Central City for over a year, no luck. All we've tried seriously lacked in customer service skills & food quality. Thankfully, Main Choice readily agreed to deliver to us, regardless of the fact that they're in Newton. We'll definitely be stopping in at this place for dinner when we're in the area next time. I'd like to see what the restaurant itself is like. It's not secret that the location set my expectations a bit low considering this chinese restaurant is sandwiched between a few industrial businesses in a fairly hard-to-find and hard-to-access strip. But that's where all the golden food and beverages places are found I find.
