I was craving Chinese and with a friend. We decided to see what was around and stumbled upon ChongQing. I had been to a couple of the restaurants by the same name in Vancouver and liked them so I figured we'd give it ago. We entered a large restaurant that wasn't all that busy. We were promptly served and given tea. Shortly after ordering the food began to arrive dish by dish. We got the lemon chicken, deep fried squid, and the chongqing fried rice. The squid and the rice were tasty. The chicken was not bad, but I wasn't crazy about the breading. The interior was a touch dated, but definitely clean. Next time I'm in the neighborhood I'll be back.

First time at this place for a birthday celebration with friends and our experienced was good. The place is big, spacious with high ceiling. Staff are friendly and always accommodate your request. Foods are good, just a regular chinese food. The Ginger Beef is only sweet and the Fried Squid are my favorite.

One, two, three....Chong OUT! I have tried all the locations of this restaurant group and this was the third visit for this particular location under the recommendation of one of my good friend because the founder of this restaurant group is his cousin. The restaurant is located on the corner of 120th (the Surrey side) & 86th avenue with its own parking at the back and where its main entrance is. When arrived, the waitress seated us on a 20"x20" table right against the wall when the restaurant literally was almost empty. When another group of 2 and a single diner came in following us, they were seated close to the middle of the restaurant on tables enough for 6 people.... Amazing logic and services. Anyways, I almost walked out but my guest suggested we stay and hope the food will make up for it. Here were the food I ordered; 1. Wonton soup. I honestly can say with confident, this easily won the title as the worse wonton soup I have ever ate. The soup base was literally water, soy sauce and msg (WTF! Seriously?) As for the wonton themselves; the skin was a bit thick and seems like they have been sitting around in the fridge for awhile, the minced pork was the size of an almond with a mushy pork paste texture. This are the type of food you feed to those unwanted guests at your house party so they can leave asap. This wonton soup failed miserably. 2. Steamed rice rolls with dried shrimps and green onions. This dish was okay but the rice rolls can be a bit smoother. 3. Steamed mixed meat with peanut dumplings. The taste was okay but the skin was a bit thick and rough, tasted like the ones from the dim sum wholesalers. 4. Steamed sticky rice wrapped with lotus leaf. Pretty generic like most dim sum restaurants. 5. Steamed chicken feet. They were okay, once again pretty generic and I still can't figure out why sprinkle raw diced green pepper and jalapeños on top after steaming the chicken feet. Perhaps it would've been better steamed them together with the chicken feet to add more flavour and aroma?!? Honestly this had to be one of the top 5 worse Chinese restaurants I have ever eaten at. It's like a Chinese Canadian restaurant back in the 70s where Chinese food is not really Chinese food because it's not meant to cater to the Chinese community. The services here are as amazing as a cow climbing up a tree. This was literally the third time where logic wasn't applied to service. As for the food, just like the previous visit for dinner, the Peking Duck I had, tasted and physically appeared more prehistoric than the dinosaurs. Overall, definitely no more Chong'ing around for me and I definitely do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. A solid -3 stars for me, Chong OUT!

I haven't had dim sum in ages. Dim sum is not something that I would crave often. I came here on a Thursday afternoon. This place was 25% full. There are not a lot of Chinese restaurants in the area. Selection at this restaurant is somewhat limited but it had what we wanted. We got 3 dim sum dishes and a lunch special. We got the: - General Tao which came with soup and rice - Deep Fried Pumpkin Dumpling with Minced Meat - Baked Bun with BBQ Pork - Steamed Rice Roll with Beef and Cilantro Overall the food was ok. The service was good. We really liked the General Tao dish. It was not too spicy. It had a sweet kick to it as well. The lunch special came with a soup so we got the hot and sour soup. That was not bad. It was flavorful. We prefer the Shanghainese style hot and sour soup. I mean it didn't taste anything like the Shanghainese version. I personally liked the pumpkin dumpling. B didn't like it because he said it tasted fishy. I prefer it because it was sweet. I would say it was a somewhat between a dessert and a meat dim sum. It tasted like the mince meat fried balls. The bbq bun was interesting. It was overly sweet. I don't dislike it. The steamed rice roll was the most disappointing. The skin was too thick. They were generous on the amount of beef so I guess that was good. Also the soy sauce was not the one for rice rolls. They basically gave us salty soy sauce for the rice rolls which was somewhat disappointing. Overall the place was ok. They have free parking at the back so that is good. I prefer having Chinese food in Vancouver or Richmond. But hey they are in Surrey so I can't expect too much.

Trying to find a good dim sum restaurant in Surrey can be very limited so I was happy to find something close by in Delta. The restaurant has plenty of seating and we found service was very friendly and fast. Instead of traditional carts you simply check off your choices on the paper dim sum menu and hand your order to your waiter and soon you'll be feasting on delicious bite sized dim sum. These vary from items in bamboo steamers, baked sweet or savoury fried dumplings. Go with friends so you can share little plates of food. Be sure to order the go to dishes like Har gow (steamed prawn dumplings), sui mai (pork and shrimp dumplings), prawn spring rolls, bbq pork buns and so much more! I always order too much and take home the leftovers. For authentic dim sum without having to go to crowded Richmond this place is a must try. They also gave a great Szechaun style Chinese lunch and dinner menu if you prefer. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. They also take reservations but usually I have been able to get a table when we go.

I really didn't want to do this because we been ordering from this restaurant for a while and it has been good but now unfortunately the service and food has gone down, the last 2 order have been cold and bit over cooked also I have asked for extra hot sauce the past couple of times but guess that to much for them because my husband goes back to ask for it and they get upset for asking.

Our go-to Chinese restaurant in Surrey and if you're craving dim sum too which they serve only at lunch. You may just need to wait for your order but overall it's a great family restaurant. Not too pricey too

Great Place in Delta to have Dim Sum. Good quality and large dishes. A little pricey for Delta Excellent service and English speaking staff.

This restaurant serves a lot of very tasty and spicy dishes. The service is excellent....you'll have dish after dish on your table after ordering. This is how efficient they are. Prices are a little higher but worth it. Parking is very limited and this place is always packed. Atmosphere is crowded and noisy but that's from being packed with customers.

Everyone should be coming here for lunch!! I have been to their other locations and always good food. They have $9.95 lunch specials served with choice of hot & sour or corn chowder soup. A ton of different options from Noodles to Lettuce Wraps. The General Tso's was killer and the service was great. They have a large parking lot but when we went for a Friday lunch it was almost full so keep that in mind. I have seen some of the reviews on here for delivery food that weren't very good but take my word for it the dining room definitely has a great lunch service for a great price. 2 dim sum dishes, 2 lunch specials and 2 bowls of soup and the total was under $35 plus lots of leftovers. New favourite lunch spot in the Scott Road area.

I give a high score of 5 for a dim sum place. First of all I appreciate how attentive the staff/ waiters are to their customers. Second we got seated right away no busy line ups and the resto is pretty spacious. I just did not like the choice of fabric/ chair they used a bit outdated. Lastly the dim sum was great , big portions , tasty, and the price is right. Tip: try their chilli oil and it's available for purchase . The best I've tasted if you love spice

The lunch specials also come with chicken corn soup or else the hot & sour soup. You can pay $1 more for wonton or a spring roll!

Delicious and authentic dimsum at a not-so populated area compared to Richmond. Took one star off for expensive dinner prices.

It was supposed to be my final meal of this leg of my Vancouver food trip, and with so many…read morerestaurants to choose from, I decided to trust my gut and head to Dragon Wok. Faced with two locations, I picked the newer one for reasons I can't quite explain, and thus began an amazing journey. The spacious parking area was a great start, and as soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted by a bright, soothing, and clean environment. The Far East vibes were unmistakable, with signs all around confirming I was in a Chinese place. A polite girl greeted us and guided us through the extensive menu, helping us choose the best dishes and combinations. To give some context, Indo-Chinese food originated in Kolkata, Bengal, and evolved as it spread across India, with each region adding its own twist. My favorite is Bangladeshi Chinese, known for its aroma, toned textures, and balanced, soothing sauces and condiments. Although Indo-Chinese variations have diverged from their Bengali-Chinese roots, I was hoping to find something that would closely match my taste preferences. That's when a gentleman named Abrar approached us. To my delight, he was from Kolkata, the birthplace of Indo-Chinese cuisine. He took the time to understand our preferences, crafting recommendations that seemed tailored just for us. He went above and beyond, even deciding how to tweak their original dishes to match our taste buds. We decided to go all out with his suggested combinations. We started with the appetizer, the Spicy chili garlic wings, and they were incredible--thin, yet with the crispiest crust, perfectly balanced with the chili garlic sauce. They were well-marinated with no gaminess, and the juicy inner layer contrasted beautifully with the crunchy exterior. 5/5. The Masala Fish blew us away--it was unforgettable. It wasn't overly spicy; a hint of sweetness brought out the flavors, with a light, airy crunch giving way to melt-in-your-mouth fish. The Crispy Chili Beef was very special. It wasn't dry, with a perfect semi-crisp exterior and juicy interior. Each bite validated how beef should be cooked. The sauce was perfectly balanced, neither too salty nor too sour. The Ginger garlic chicken was stir-fried to perfection, super soft with a soothing gravy, and the perfect blend of oriental sauces. Everything was balanced just right. The vegetable Hakka chowmein were not too oily, and though the noodles were a bit thinner than usual, they complemented every entrée so well it felt like a match made in heaven. Finally, the dessert--Ice cream with fried banana--was an ingenious creation. The warm, crunchy banana paired perfectly with the cold ice cream, creating a delightful ending to the meal. The girl at the reception (sorry, I didn't ask her name) was incredibly cordial, checking in on us several times and even offering complimentary green tea. Abrar also checked in on us a couple of times, providing exceptional service. I noticed him being attentive to every customer, offering nothing short of the best service you can get in a restaurant. I know taste buds vary, and Indo-Chinese palates differ across the subcontinent, but as someone extremely picky about Indo-Chinese food, I feel I had my best Indo-Chinese experience in North America at Dragon Wok. You're in good hands with these experts from the birthplace of Indo-Chinese cuisine.

The menu is extensive, offering everything from classics like General Tso's and lo mein to more unique options. With so many choices, there's something for everyone. The food always comes out hot and flavorful, and the staff is friendly and efficient. It's a great spot when you're craving Indo-Chinese food and want big portions that satisfy. We got veg fried rice, Manchurian chicken, and shrimp chow mein and honestly those plates were wiped clean. It was enough for four starving people. I'm tempted to come back and try their soup and other things on the menu. Can't wait!

Our party of six waited over an hour to be seated. If my mother hadn't spoken up, we likely would have waited even longer. Although reservations are not accepted, guests are placed on a waitlist upon arrival. Our name was clearly on the queue, but not in Korean and while I initially understood smaller parties of two or four being seated ahead of us based on table availability, concerns arose when another party of six--who was behind us in line (name was written in Korean--was seated before us. This was deeply frustrating, as we were next in line for a table that could accommodate six people. When we raised the issue, the hostess admitted it was a mistake, yet still chose to seat the other group first. They were 5th in the queue. Despite our complaint, there was no sincere apology, and we were forced to wait an additional 10 minutes while they set up another table. The entire situation left us feeling unfairly treated and discriminated against. As loyal customers who regularly spend over $300 per visit ordering family combos, extra dishes, drinks, and more, this was incredibly disappointing. Sadly, we will not be returning. There are many other restaurants that treat their customers with fairness, respect, and appreciation.
