I received a flyer from this place (assuming they are new to the Boise area) on my front door. The menu looked great. They have 2 other locations in Idaho and after checking out some of those reviews on Yelp, I decided they would worth a shot come Superbowl Sunday. Superbowl Sunday morning, around 11am, I placed an order for a 20'' Pizza (The Sad Guy) and a dozen wings. I requested the food between 3-3:30pm. The girl who I placed my order with was very polite. The pizza showed up at exactly 3:00pm. Great. I made the mistake of not opening my pizza before the delivery guy left. I set it down, gather some troops to eat and to my dismay the pizza was completely mangled. It looked as if the delivery guy carried the box vertically as the entire pizza was on one side and twisted into one giant pile. Cheese, sauce and just about everything else was scattered all over the box. We managed to salvage maybe 3 slices. The rest of the pizza was more like pizza casserole. (I have a few pictures of the mess) One thing I will say is that the few slices that were consumed were very tasty. This could have been an absolutely amazing pizza and a huge hit at the party. However, mangled pizza is not acceptable especially when you consider the price ($37 for the pizza, wings and tip). I did not call them back to try to get a refund or a new pizza. Didn't want to deal with it. I called Guido's Pizza and they got me a pizza ready in 20 minutes and everyone was very pleased. read more

Best pizza, hands down, in Boise. Better than piehole. And this opinion includes customer service. They are nice, helpful, and quick. Their food is delicious! I have been to this one and the one in Hailey and had great experiences both times. I was in downtown the other night and went to pie hole and it was gross and they were super rude. We decided we would share the slice I ordered then go somewhere else as to not give anymore time or money to their business and went to wise guys and it was just all around a better experience. Took 1 hours to deliver a pizza 3 blocks away. Why didn't we pick it up? Because they said it would be right there and we didn't need to pick it up. After 1 hour the order was wrong. My sons and I went to WiseGuy Pizza today for my birthday. We arrived at about 2 pm on a Sunday, the place was pretty empty. This is a good thing because we didn't have to pay to park and we got pretty much the pick of tables. The waitress took our order and was very friendly (and cute, wink) and told us she would bring our appetizer (small garlic knots) and pizza out when they were ready. We picked a table in the back, even though the day was warm and sunny and it would have been perfect to sit out on their patio at one of the many tables placed for outdoor dining. We sat and enjoyed the very good music and talked while we sipped our ice water and waited for our meal. The building is large and open with several tables surrounded by bar stools as well as booths along the walls. The overall ambience is pretty good for a casual pizza place in an old brick building. They had NASCAR on one television and NBC was showing Polo on another screen. We had a great discussion about that, who the heck watches Polo? Anyway, the garlic knots arrived within five minutes. We got the small order (three bucks) and there were nine nice sized knots coated with a delicious garlic oil and chiffonade basil (fresh), accompanied by a very delicious marinara sauce (I wonder that it MUST be freshly made but I didn't ask). It was the perfect amount for the three of us and simply has to be ordered when you go there, you won't regret it. The pizza was done within a few more minutes, I estimate five but I wasn't watching the clock. We ordered a 14 inch half Fat Guy and half Metro Guy. I am here to tell you: The OTHER PEOPLE REVIEWING THIS PIZZA ARE RIGHT! The Metro Guy is FREAKING DELICIOUS! If you come here and don't try this then you are wasting an opportunity. We decided to get the olive oil sauce on the Fat Guy half as well and it worked beautifully. Next time we go back I want to try it with the red sauce it is supposed to have. So the three of us got a fantastically good meal for about twenty five bucks total (that included the tip), in a very relaxed atmosphere. Service was quick (well, what can you expect, they had four customers in the building other than us) and the staff was super nice. My ONLY concern is that the guy who makes the pizzas this day had a wickedly awesome beard and maybe he should have been wearing a beard net while making the pizzas, but this isn't a huge deal for me as long as I don't find an unwanted ingredient (wink). They have a great beer selection, though I didn't try it. They have great lunch specials, just check their website for more on that. They deliver, but we forgot to ask what their area for delivery is. And they have LOYALTY CARDS! For lunch, buy ten lunch specials get the next one free. For regular pizzas buy ten pizzas and get the eleventh pizza free. How many restaurants do that? NOT ENOUGH in my book! I have to give this establishment five stars. It was clean, the staff was attentive, the food was incredible. This will be my new go to pizza place when I want a tasty NY style crust pizza. Sorry guys, you won taste, but Guidos will always be my first choice when I want a big pizza at a great price (because their Pepperoni/fresh Basil pie is going to be hard to beat, IMO). read more

We went there for the first time this weekend and the food was average for a pizza place. The problem I have is they gave themselves a tip beyond what we put on the bill. We gave them a five for a tip and they added another four to it. I don't think that is very good business. Need less to say we won't be back simply because of the extra tip they gave themselves. read more

Wow the other reviews must be eating there after a night of drinking. The slice of pepperoni I got was one of the worst pizza ever. My boyfriend and I always joke that there is no such thing as bad pizza. Well this is close. The crust was soggy and seemed old. The pepperoni was thin and flavorless. I couldn't discern much else because it had been sitting out apparently for a while and even though we asked for them to be thrown in the oven he said it had just come out of the oven. I live downtown Boise, this is the best by the slice pizza downtown. Beer is usually pretty good selection, although sometimes out of my favorite. Only downfall is the place is sometimes/often pretty loud, even out on the patio sometimes the music is so loud having a normal conversation can be more difficult than it should be. Don't get me wrong it doesn't stop me from thinking that this isn't my go to place for slice pizza, because it is, it's just that I think it's notable. Example: one a first date, if pizza was your kind of place for that, where I wanted to have some nice conversation, not the place for that. Disgusting ! I haven't been to New York before, but based on that style of pizza, apparently all of NYC is in a run down, grungy building with garish paint, graffiti-esque artwork/pictures, and used furniture. Confused by cutesy names, and an auctioneer-style recitation of ingredients on each variation of pizzas at this iteration of "New York Style" pizza, I decided to get a few slices as a "sampler" of the ones on display that I thought were ready to go. While I pointed out which ones I wanted, I was corrected to ask for them with their "proper names". Sigh. I asked for them "to go" and waited while the cashier took a lengthy order on the phone, while still having no pizza. I asked for my money back, and was told my slices were in the warmer oven. I waited and they finally were placed in a large box. Instead of being arranged so they wouldn't stick to each other, there were piled in the middle of the box. I stopped at a nearby trashcan on the way out the door, opened the box, and rearranged the slices so they laid flat on the bottom of the box. Okay, now I'm home. The pizza was frankly, gross. I started with the simplest one: pepperoni, or "roni" as I was apparently supposed to call it. The sauce was overpowering and had a weird tang to it. However, the crust had a good chew, and I merely thought, "request light sauce next time". The next slice was (I can't remember the cutesy name, and I don't see it on the paper menu I found), "Hawaiian with Jalapenos." Despite the over-whelming vinegar influence from the pickled peppers (which was all I could smell on the way home), this was okay. But, by then, the Jack and Coke had kicked in and I didn't really care. The third slice was "Vegetablarian." The crust was dried out and stale, and the combination of ingredients merits the first word of this review... Disgusting. I once ordered a pizza from the Winco pizza place and despite vowing never to order THAT again, it was better. Add in the lack of parking, and the confusion of two completely separate menus posted above two different parts of the restaurant where you could order pizza from (this pizza suffers from a split personality- order to go in the front and dine-in in the rear, depending on what time it is ?). I'm about ready to pass this whole genre of pizza.. Pie Hole is next-to-last place. Guidos is in the lead. Never again, Wiseguy. read more

First time in Wiseguys, don't like the traffic in the downtown area so I try to stay away from there but had some business to do with the county. So while walking around the downtown area we spotted Wiseguys and decided to give it a try. Had a large pepperoni with sausage. The crust was very good, thin and crispy, a little on the greasy side but that was due to the pepperoni and sausage. Heck with the downtown traffic I will be going back. read more

Their sauce has a great flavor to it and they add just the right amount of cheese to their pies. The toppings are delicious and they have a variety of choices for slices during lunch and dinner. We tried several pizza places, looking for a new place after our move from the east coast. Wiseguy is the best we found and one of only 2 places we will eat pizza from in Boise. Wiseguys has a classic NY style pizza, simple thin crust with a good sauce. Wings are really good as well. We don't order by the slice, so can't speak to the quality of their slices. read more

We checked this place out one Saturday afternoon on account of the Living Social deal I got in my inbox. We ordered a large pepperoni since there were several kids in our party who wouldn't have agreed to any other toppings. We also ordered a large order of garlic rolls. First of all, service was very friendly and laid back. 5 stars there. Pizza was very good. I did have to blot out some grease but that was probably from the pepperoni. All the kids and adults in our party enjoyed it. Yes, I also like Guidos a lot, and it's hard for me to compare the two. One thing I can say is that Guido's parking is a lot easier than Wiseguy's. You do have to find parking on busy Main street, or pay to park in front of Wiseguy's. The garlic rolls were delicious, as was the accompanying marinara sauce. My friend and I talked about how we could come in and order each a large order ($5 for 16 small rolls) for lunch and be really happy and satisfied. Drinks are I think around $1.50 each but you get free refills so it's a decent deal there. I did not sample the beer during my visit. Next time I go, I'd like to try the wings and beer. I think I'd be very content with wings, beer and garlic rolls! Some of the speciality pizzas sounded awfully good though. I will order delivery from Wiseguy too. Something I believe Guido's doesn't do. I would definitely eat here again. Prices were reasonable, food was very good, especially those garlic rolls! And service was very friendly. Give it a try, let's support new local businesses who deserve a chance. read more
