Off The Grid Pizza On 10/8/20, I went to visit OTG for the second time with my friend TJ. We ordered the Pesto Veggie (Spinach, red onion, mushrooms, black olives and peppadew) and the Meat & 'Shroom (homemade sausage, pepperoni and roasted mushroom). Both were excellent! One of the things that I loved about the Pesto Veggie was the pesto was not applied too heavily, which allowed the other flavors to shine through. The fresh basil on top was a nice touch, both visually and flavor wise. And I LOVED the addition of Peppadew. Though I had heard of these peppers before, this was my first time trying them. They have been on my radar ever since Brad Wegelin shared a picture of his special order OTG Pizza, the P&P (Pepperoni & Peppadew) on his Instagram twozeroate. A well-traveled chef and fellow foodie, Brad knows his stuff. For those who unfamiliar with Peppadew, It is a trademarked brand name for a South African company that is best known for a pickled version of the Juanita pepper, which a sweet piquante pepper grown in the Limpopo province of South Africa. Sometimes described as a cross between a pepper and a tomato, Peppadews have a nice amount of heat. We enjoyed getting to meet Jeff and Tarah, the owners/operators of OTG. To give you a sense of how much effort goes into these pizzas, in preparation for opening OTG, they attended a week-long pizza-making school in San Francisco. When asked about the special ingredient that makes their red sauce so special, Tarah shared they make their pizzas with "love." It shows.

I've been wanting to try Off the Grid for months since I heard about them last spring. I finally got the chance a couple months ago when I found them parked outside of Good Apple Taphouse. I was so damn excited! Apple cider and pizza - what else could be better?! My husband and I shared some good old pepperoni because you can't really go wrong with that. The pizza was whipped up in less than 10 minutes and soon we were diving into some delicious wood fired pizza. Because it's wood fired there is a small hint of that great smokey flavor embedded in the pizza. My favorite thing, though, were the CUPS. OTG knows how to make pepperoni pizza the right way! Pepperonis should be cupped, don't @ me. Look at how perfectly the grease pools in the cups. Ah-may-zing! The owners were very sweet as well. I haven't had the chance to converse much with them but they seem like a super nice family. You gotta try this place! One of my favorite Boise food trucks! Additionally I would recommend you to download the Street Food a Finder app, they always post wherever they are located at so it makes it easier for you to find them!

Pepperoni, pineapple, jalapeño on cauliflower crust. Veggie with pepperoni and sausage.

Hands down the best pizza in the valley, period. It doesn't hurt that the owners Jeff and Tarah are the nicest people you will ever meet. Ingredients are always fresh, specials never disappoint (seriously try the pickle pizza or the potato pizza and say you've ever had something so different that's better than either of these??). And the real pro tip is, ask for take and bakes of your favorites. Freeze them, and toss them in the oven or air fryer for nights when you need your pizza fix. We usually have to keep a small freezer full of them. But legitimately, go see OTG wherever they may be tonight. You'll thank me later.

Off the Grid Pizza: The answer is always pizza. ~What's a five letter word for love? Pizza. This delightful pizza trailer is pretty great. I've had their wood fired pizza a few times and I'm smitten. Quality inspiring pizza from a trailer? You better believe it. ~What has arugula, balsamic vinegar and cheese? A salad. LOL. A pizza. The real foodie running this show is Indigo. And Indigo loves Off the Grid Pizza. The Boifood pizza with arugula and balsamic is her favorite. She ate up that Boifood pizza and I had to arm wrestle her for the last piece. She won. She's quite strong. ~What's in the box? Relax, it's pizza. The pizza takes a few minutes to make and the nice people will tell you approximately how long. Sit tight, it's worth the wait. Check their social media for their schedule and location. Enjoy! I don't always eat arugula, but when I do, it's on an Off the Grid pizza. Indigo says Off the Grid Pizza is toddler approved.

Meat and Shrooms pizza. Pepperoni, Italian sausage and fresh mushrooms made for a yummy pizza.

Had my first experience with these folks at a Friday Night affair at Telaya winery. It has always bugged me that wineries don't have food available to go with their wines. Well, Telaya sure fixed that by having these folks come of their first Friday Night food and wine soiree for this new warm season. People could even eat on the patio this evening. The pizza choices were about a half dozen. Prices are very reasonable for a 10" pizza ($10-$13) which was just right for two of us. We had the Meat and 'Shroom. Very tasty, not overwhelmed by red sauce and fresh mushrooms. Baked just right with crusty edges, but not too thin crust. I'd say medium crust, but still foldable to eat by hand. The pepperoni pizza looked like a winner too. Their wagon is clean and modern and opens up so you can see the wood fired stone oven and them making the pies. Very fast service too. We hope to be able to see them again.

Decided to deviate from my trusty fav pizza spot and try this place. Totally lived up to all the five-star reviews, the pizza was sooooo deliciously dank and the people are super nice. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent wood-fired pizza. The Wylder is in the same league, but this pie mobile so pretty impressive! Dough is very good, with appropriate tip drop. 10+ times, always consistent. Legitimately get excited when I see OTG.

The best pizza and service around, I've eaten at a lot of pizza places here in Boise and they are by far the best.

We popped in here to ask about options and the woman working the counter, mom of this franchise owner I think, was so helpful in answering them. A very good introduction to the business. We will drop in again to try a small box for 2 as takeaway to pair with a glass of wine as casual picnic sometime at a local winery. But in general we are like that couple in Portlandia, you know the "Tell us a little bit about your chicken" people (if you don't know the bit I'll post a link below because when it first aired friends said "This is YOU" :-) ) and so we are more Olympia Provisions for charcuterie and local cheeses types. As example, we eat a mostly plant based diet and when we do eat animal proteins we buy them directly from local sustainable practice farmers. Which is no knock on this business,as they use good quality products, she brought some out to show us when we asked and these are better than you will likely get if you're picking up grocery store or big box store charcuterie trays. We also appreciated that as they can they use local veg and fruits here when those are on the trays. OPTIONS: Sizes range from a single serving "cup" ($8) to a box to feed two ($12) to boxes of other sizes and trays of multiple sizes with the top end of that designed to feed roughly 10 ($165). Photo boards in the shop show how the options are put together and a display over the counter shows prices. They offer Keto board options, Vegetarian Board options, Luxury options, Sweet Treat options that include fruit and chocolate and so on. You can also find general menu at the main company link here: https://www.grazecraze.com/menu CONVENIENT LOCATION: for picking up your order because they have a private parking lot associated with the strip mall in which they're location. For 'orientation', this is in the same complex as The Local. Also convenient location in Garden City as there are at least three, maybe as many as five, nearby winery tasting rooms where one can bring in their own eats and the grazing boxes would work well for that. ACCESSIBILITY: Parking lot has accessible (aka ADA compliant) parking which happy coincidence is just outside the door of this business. Shop is all on one level. "TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR CHICKEN..." BIT: His name is Colin. ;-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErRHJlE4PGI

The Daily Special A dish that one of the students (the cook for the day) has dreamed up for the day, so it may not have been made but once prior to your visit. There's a lot of tables and bar type seating at the window. I loved the country type decor and all the roosters everywhere. It's a really cute venue. If I had to describe this restaurant, I would compare it to a cafeteria. You place your order and everything from that point on is self serve. We placed our order at the front register. I got the 2 eggs combo with sausage. My husband got the ham breakfast sammy with sourdough. We grabbed a table and our drinks while our food was being worked on. They has one coffee dispenser for coffee. The coffee looked really dark so I added some hot water to it. Unfortunately, with the addition of the hot water, my coffee was still luke warm. It was drinkable but it would have been nice to have a hot cup of it. My husband grabbed his drink from the soda machine. All of the straws, coffee creamers and utensils were on the side to help yourself to. Food came out pretty fast. My eggs were fried nicely. The sausage was warm but not really hot. The hashbrowns were nicely golden but not really hot. They did give me a good portion of the country gravy. The only thing that was piping hot was the pancake syrup that I got for my sausage. My husband enjoyed his sammy. He did appreciate that the ham was sliced thin and it wasn't a huge chunk of ham. After you're done, they have you clear off your own plates, silverware and cups. Tipping throws me off at this point cause what are we tipping you for? They don't fill got drinks, remove any of your plates or even check up on you. It truly is like a cafeteria. I guess I had a different impression of this joint. I thought it would be like any other breakfast joint in town. Roosters is a easy going venue if you're looking for an easy place to eat at. I'm happy I got to try it out but I probably won't be back.
