The smell of delicious food when I walked into the restaurant the morning of Friday Jan 31, 2025 got me excited. Then, I experienced the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. Horrible service at the counter. Treated as an inconvenience. She should find a different job, she's not cut out for service. Absolutely appalling. My daughter in law and I went for breakfast on a Friday morning. It wasn't busy (weekday morning) and we ordered right away. We both ordered the Brunch Bowl which was tasty and hearty. We had coffee and she had a side of bacon (one slice $6.00!). I love the farm to table concept; the food was good and hot when served. The people working were kind of meh and we had to ask for a coffee refill even though it wasn't busy. I gave this 3 stars because it's VERY spendy. With tip, the cost of breakfast for 2 was $51 and some change. They have a very cute patio and it's handicap accessible (important since my DIL is in a wheelchair). They also have a market with fresh from the farm veggies which was wonderful. I love patronizing local restaurants and I also understand inflation but $51 for breakfast seems just a tad out of my budget. I doubt that I will return. read more

I was given a gift card to this place or I would not have known it existed! We shared breakfast just the basic eggs, toast sausage. It was good. Portions moderate sized prices were fair The place is small you order at the counter and they bring your meal to you. Things are 'rustic'. Everything locally grown and super fresh, they sell baked goods and meat from local farms. You can really taste the difference No tv's or distractions, enjoy the person your with or bring something to read. Very chill place The employees were friendly and efficient they moved things quickly but didn't rush you! It was an unexpected surprise. I will return and try something else on the menu read more

It did strike me as pricy but the food was very tasty and this is a true farm-to-table restaurant. They claim most of the ingredients in their meals come from their own farm and I believe it. I had the soup/sandwich combo with Chili and the Pesto Grilled Cheese. Both were quite good. I didn't care for the canned root beer but nbd. Yum! read more

Had a great brunch here on a Tuesday. Everything is made from their Plato farm and they had pumpkin spice latte with oatmilk! Very friendly staff and liked their house made ketchup and hot sauces. Tries their eggs Benedict which was filling and delicious. Will def be back for more delicousness! read more

Fist time to Wise Acres. We've tried to find before COV-ID but it was super busy and we couldn't wait with two little ones. So for our 8th wedding anniversary, my hubby was able to have my mother in law watch our girls so we could use our gift card and celebrate during the day. We were lucky to have great weather for the patio. We snag a spot all to ourselves on the putting green with a bench and two adirondack chairs. It was a cute little setup. The wind was wicked that morning but nonetheless the temperature was perfect with the sun shining! We ordered their mimosa kit, breakfast burrito and special of the day was pastrami hash. I had the burrito without beans. It was good but I thought the fried eggs could be less burnt on the bottom of crunchy. The verde sauce adds so much the flavor and I thought that it was going to be wrapped with it inside not as a dip but it was still good. The pastrami hash was good but needed something to bring all the flavors together. We were still hungry so we ordered a breakfast sandwich and a side of rice to add to the pastrami hash. The breakfast sandwich was a bit too salty so I added the pickled cucumbers and onions to the sandwich to take the edge off the saltiness. I like the sandwich on baguette bread instead of a traditional slices of bread or ciabatta bread. The coffee was strong but didn't taste bitter with the sugar and creamer. It was a bummer that they don't have the BELT sandwich anymore on their brunch menu. I love the market thar they have I'm implemented in the area of the indoor seating. They grow their own food in Plato, MN. I didn't know this about the restaurant. Love that they have a rotating menu. We dined the Thanksgiving take and heat kit. It served 10 adults and 2 kids! The turkey was smoked and very moist. I am not a turkey fan in fact. I despise thanksgiving fare. This meal was delicious and filling, but not full in which you are I'll and sluggish-like a typical thanksgiving meal. We had the smoked turkey breast and legs. My partner loved the thighs. We also had mashed potatoes-garlicky and buttery. Didn't even need gravy! The squash was prepared sweet potato style yet firm. Very good. The stuffing was wonderful. It was casserole like texture with a basil and sage flavor. Unique and good. My SIL eats her body weight in it. Her favorite food in Minnesota. Finally the cranberry sauce was a chutney like consistency. It was spiced and a great texture. I'd love to go there to eat in house. But the takeout is top notch! read more

I honestly can't believe this gem only has a 3.7 rating... We drive from Waconia to Wise Acre as often as we can. Their food is amazing!!! Is it expensive? Maybe in comparison to Denny's. But this place absolutely doesn't compare!!! Farm to table counter service at its best!! You get more food than I can eat in one sitting. You leave feeling full but not gross, like you just ate a bunch of processed garbage! The seasonal rotating vegetable sides are all great, my favorite being heirloom tomatoes and the squash... They pay attention to every detail, seasoning each item to perfection. Even the tomatoes or the greens, each item has its own individual flavor, and they all pair so perfectly together. Sitting outside is beautiful, and I don't generally go for the outdoor seating. But the flowers and ambiance are breathtaking. Expect a line on the weekends, but it moves pretty fast and is totally worth the wait! read more

Had a nice lunch here on a rainy Saturday. There's a small annex that's well heated which was where we sat. The staff is very friendly also. You can buy items fresh from their farm if you like. I had what I believe was the farmers basket or something like that. It was two eggs on roasted sweet potatoes, beets,(both very good) and the most deliciously seasoned barbacoa. I've tried! Several times! I'm officially done. Counter service is great, food is mediocre at best but the attitude I got for asking a team member for a side of salsa or hot sauce... how dare I. Not a fan of being treated like shit and Sunnyside has great flowers! Not sure what farm all the breakfasts in town come from but I'm willing to dive in - hopefully I don't need a cool club card to be treated respectfully. Loved all the fresh ingredients. The space and location very nice! The kids menu was good with yummy selections. Nice wine and beer list.

Came right when it opened so we were able to find a spot in the parking lot and were seated right away. This place is on the chilly side so come dressed in your warm sweater if it's winter. They don't have a super extensive menu so if you are in the mood for something specific, check ahead of time to see if your craving will be fulfilled. I went with "if you must" with bacon. The bacon is a thicker cut but on the fatty side so I didn't love it as much as I normally do bacon. Overall, the meal is simple - eggs, potato., a slice of bacon, and cornbread. It was pretty good but cost $14. I thought it was kind of pricey for a relatively simple meal. The CSA Hash got good reviews by my friend. It only came with one small slice of ham and it was $16. He had the same complaint - a more spendy brunch meal for a pretty simple dish. I wish I had asked for butter for the cornbread. It was so dry and plain tasting. It took me a while to eat which I was bummed about since I usually love cornbread. What I enjoyed about this place is that they really push vegetables on the entrees. If you are a meat lover though, I wouldn't recommend this place (at least for brunch). I really liked their spicy ginger beer! It had a great flavor but came in this giant glass of ice so I felt like I paid for more ice than drink. Overall the food and drinks are good and our server was great! She was very attentive and I felt like I never wondered when she was going to come back. But it is a pricey menu for what you get. read more

Any CSA establishments are worth a try, especially for breakfast/brunch. Local sourced foods just make the food experience more appetizing and the freshness can be told when you're eating it. I would've gave them 5 stars but the service seemed to disappear for a while and one of our dishes was the E's and B's and for the price, it literally was a small plate of eggs and one nice slice of bacon. Their CSA hash, eggs benny and house burger were all great and the ambience was perfect as it's an old car service shop converted into an indoor/outdoor cafe that has fall vibes all over it. It's definitely a great place to meet up with friends/family or just visiting from out of town. I'd recommend it to anyone asking for a spot that is bright, fun and farm fresh. read more

We dined at Wise Acre Eatery for a Saturday Brunch, there were four of us. I had the Beet and Chèvre Sandwich which was very tasty, it had roasted beets, lettuce, pickled onions, caramelized onions, a sunflower pate and chèvre on it. It is normally served on Goodwich bread, which they were out of, so it was served on toasted sourdough bread. I chose a side of home fries to have with it, for a small extra fee. Both were very tasty. My daughter had the same thing I had and also, throughly enjoyed her meal. My son-in-law had the brunch bowl, which he also enjoyed, it was filled with home fries, scrambled eggs, seasonal veggies and pickled veggies, also with lettuce greens. My husband had the Wise Burger, which was two patties, onion, smoked cheddar, herb aioli on a homemade bun with pickle slice on the side, he ordered a bag of chips with it. Sodas are canned, and local, they have mixed drinks, coffee and tea. We all said we would definitely order what we had again! The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. We went to Wise Acres because in January my husband saw them featured on the television show "Bike to Bites." We were not disappointed and definitely will return read more

There aren't many meals that can illicit a review from me these days, but my dinner at Wise Acre this evening was just that. Celebrating my first winter break as a 7th grade teacher, I decided to treat myself to a nice dinner. I've been to Wise Acre a number of times for brunch and lunch (yes, the bacon IS all it's cracked up to be!) but tonight's dinner was especially delightful. First I ordered the borscht, which was warm and earthy with a hint of fresh cream. The baby bell squash (think of a mini butternut) was roasted to perfection and served with chili browned butter and fried leeks, which haunted my taste buds with a crispy sweetness and lingering spice, topped with popcorn sprouts--greens that actually tasted like fresh popcorn--all under the low notes of fresh green herb oil. The pork chop was tender and juicy, topped with whole mustard seeds and savory farro. Did I mention all their produce and meat is raised at their own farm? (I sat next to farmer Dean who owns the restaurant, and who spoke such truth to farming and the love of soil I considered a change of careers.) This is a place for people who love vegetables, slow food and farm-forward establishments. This is also a place for picky meat eaters looking for higher-conscious restaurants. The staff are professional but down to earth, so don't expect to be treated like royalty--do expect to be treated like a human being, and welcomed to the family. I really want to like this place! We sat outside on the patio with our dog, who was given a water bowl but stepped on some glass :( Here's what we got: Berry kombucha - decent. This was refreshing but lacked some flavor Curry goat cheese fritters - this came with a salty, cool yogurt sauce which was nice but the fitters themselves were very doughy. Liked the curry flavoring though. 5/5 for idea but 2/5 for execution on these bad boys Kale chicken salad - actually really like this and would recommend! Only change I would make would be to chop up the kale vs giving me huge leaves Black bean burger with daily soup - this comes with a sour cream habañero sauce but it was too hot for some of us to eat. I came to wise acre because out of the kindness of their hearts, they donated a meal to our running team, as we were raising money to help serve women become free from sex trafficking. So the fact that they were on board to support was the first plus. The food was incredible. Everything tasted fresh and was good and hearty. The servers were kind and conversational. I found the conversation with them to be pleasant. It's an all around feel good place. My personal favorite, though, was the caramel latte. It may have been one of the best lattes I've ever had - which I wasn't expecting considering they didn't advertise it as a specialty of theirs. Overall, I'd say this is a must try. First off, the people who claim this is a hipster spot are correct, at least in part. The staff and concept are very much so, while the customers are not. The food was okay, but not fantastic in any way. I ordered the If You Must. It came with herb scrambled eggs, bacon, diced potatoes, and cornbread with a honey bacon butter. The eggs were pretty good. The potatoes were pretty boring. The bacon was of the pork belly variety and was decent, but not nearly as good as what Moscow on the Hill serves. The cornbread was cold, dry, and not particularly flavorful. The butter that came with it seemed promising, but really didn't deliver on the honey or bacon flavors. The service was good and the price on the brunch was reasonable. The $3.50 for the straight-out-of-the-jug orange juice concentrate wasn't. You would think that a place that touts a farm to table mantra could do better than that. I don't think I would go out of my way to eat here again. I would recommend crossing the street to go to the St. Paul Bagelry instead. read more

A disappointing experience start to finish. Hit brunch today. Ordered a cheese burger. $17 ok. I don't mind shelling out cash for good food. Problem 1) you get two choices for temp "some pink" or "no pink." Then they add "the chef recommends 'some pink.' Gee thanks. Most 'chefs' can handle offering rare, med rare, medium, medium well, well and charred as options. I ordered "some pink." Problem 2) fries are an extra ($3)...and they're not even fries. They're home fries. Fine. Problem 3) the burger came. There was a 'hint' that there had once been pink in the middle of my burger. By any other measure this thing was well done. There was cheese on it as ordered - but only technically. Whatever shaving of cheese they may have started with had been melted down to the thinest skim coat over the burger. Could not taste it at all. Can't prove that the cheese was microwaved after the fact - it may not have been. But it would explain...(see below) Problem 4) this thing was bone dry, grainy/gritty, and without any flavor. There was no discernible seasoning - not even basic salt and pepper. Problem 5) the home fries were a half shade shy of burnt. Not enjoyable. Problem 6) The metal cups for the water smelled. Like...that smell when your dishwasher leaves plates and cups smelling 'off.' Stale. Off-smelling. I left feeling bummed and wishing I had ordered something else. Four entrees with home fries and drinks $100 incl tip. I can't imagine going back but if I do I'm ordering the BLT which looked pretty good. read more

For everyone complaining about the price. Look where you decided to go. It's all locally sourced and organic! What do you expect? If you don't want to spend $15 on a burger then go to five guys. The food here is incredibly tasty and well portioned. You walk out of this place feeling satisfied but not stuffed and uncomfortable.
