The staff recommended the gochujang wings and even offered us a sample--bold move, because one taste was all it took to order them. The flavor was on point: savory, slightly sweet, with just the right amount of heat that builds but doesn't overpower. Service was excellent and genuinely attentive. The ambiance is classic BBQ chicken wing spot--casual, lively, and all about the food. The wings came out piping hot with an ultra-crunchy exterior that stayed crisp even with the sauce perfectly coated. The fries deserve their own shout-out: golden, well-seasoned, and just as addictively crunchy as the wings. Definitely a solid go-to spot when you're craving Korean-style wings done right.

I ordered to go earlier this week and got the fried rice and gold dust fried zucchini. I got the…read morefried rice plain without any protein but it was still very flavorful and paired well with the fried zucchini. The gold dust is like a savory cheese seasoning and the zucchini was nicely fried and crunchy. I couldn't get enough of it! I went back today and got the gold dust fried zucchini again and the 9 piece mixed wing and drumsticks and a side of white rice. The food didn't taste quite as good as the first time. I got half classic crunch and half soy garlic for the chicken. The soy garlic was a glaze on the fried chicken and wasn't bad. But the classic crunch was plain and very dry inside and outside. The soy glaze was more flavorful and had more crunch than the classic crunch. The side of rice is very small, about the equivalent of a small ice cream scoop. I wish they had different sizes to choose from for those who would like more rice but don't want to pay for two small ones. Not sure if I would return for the chicken again. If I return, I'll prob stick to the fried rice and maybe try the gold dust onion rings which is a new item.

We were in the Costa Mesa are before we were going to head out back north and my crew wanted to have this deep dish pizza again. What we liked was the crust was so good. It wasn't overly cornmealish like some of these "authentic" Chicago pizza places. I grew up out here in the west, so I'm used to a more flaky light crust. My first Deep Dish Chicago pizza was Zachary's in Berkeley in the Bay Area. This Costa Mesa location is located just south of the 405 at Harbor Blvd. Go to Baker Street and turn left and it's right there. Easy Parking. One thing you gotta know about the deep dish pizzas, they take longer to cook cause they're just so big and need more cooking time, like maybe 35-40 minutes, depending on how busy the kitchen is. We get a classic combo pizza and have some drinks while we wait. It arrives and oh boy does that look good. Dishing it out takes a little practice, but we're good at that now! Everybody loves the flavor and crust. This isn't the cheapest pizza round, but well worth the price and wait. You want cheap go to Straw Hat or something like that.

The decor was street style but simple. The staff was so welcoming and attentive. They answered our questions and regularly checked on my boyfriend and I. We tried the buffalo wings while we waited for the pizza. They were perfectly cooked and sauced. Paired with their own ranch, so delicious! We did the traditional 9" pan pizza with only pepperoni. (You just have to keep in mind, the pizzas take approximately 45 min.) The sauce to cheese to toppings ratio was perfect. The cheese pull was soooooo good! I normally don't like crust, and I ate mine here! Pizza so good, you don't need ranch! I tried an Ube beer. And surprisingly, it was so tasty and refreshing! I wish I could remember the brewery and beer name. This was the Costa Mesa location. They do have another one in Long Beach. Overall a great experience and delicious! We'll definitely be back!

Breds Hot Chicken in Costa Mesa was close by the Camp or the Lab, one of those. I saw this one all…read moreover TikTok too with everybody saying oh my gosh this is such great fried chicken, great tenders, great spice and flavors, so I obviously had to go check it out. I ended up grabbing something like a ten or fifteen piece tender order, I honestly don't remember the exact order, but I think I got the medium hot. My memory isn't helping me here. What I do remember is the overall flavor was actually really good, and I liked that they had multiple different sauces. I had the blue cheese, the ranch, the honey, and they also had a different kind of hot honey, I think a garlic one. Those were all really good, but I went back to my old roots and the ranch and blue cheese were absolutely my favorite. The crunch on these, which is exactly what TikTok was hyping up, is supposed to be immaculate, like the best crunch you'd expect from fried chicken. It definitely had that crunch, just not quite at the level I was anticipating. What I also wasn't anticipating was the kick actually built into the rub or the bread itself. Usually when it's hot chicken it leans more like a buffalo sauce situation, but this wasn't that. This was a good spice with a nice sweetness and a little kick right at the end, which I really liked. Overall it was very good and I'd definitely go back. I can see why there's hype because you don't often get solid good fried chicken when you order it, and this place delivered. The price is high though, which I wasn't anticipating, and honestly I don't think it's quite worth that high of a price. I get it, it's hand battered and you're getting multiple sauces which is an added cost, so there's pros and cons. But I can see the hype. I'd recommend it as a good fried chicken spot for sure, just not one I'd want to hit up every single week. Good for what it is though.

The salad was refreshing to pair up with the chicken and I was really debating to just do chicken too! I think I'm not very fond of the slight sweetness there is to the dishes whether that's from the chicken or the sauces. The chicken was pretty dry. Overall, I think I will have to return and just get the chicken on its own to do a better judgment.
