Now, if it's truly the businesses policy, the employees are just doing their job. They don't have to care, but it would have been nice if they pretended to sympathize. Ultimately, it's either a bizarre, rude policy, or the employees are skimming the difference. Neither option is ok with me.

Random lane closures on Broad made it a pain to get there. It is surrounded by rundown strip malls, and the access and parking are pretty bumpy. It's hard to get in: there are locked doors with buzzers, and it is not real clear which door you should use. There is a pickup door, very clearly marked, but the regular entrance is just a little portico, the entrance to the vets, so press one of the buzzers. Inside, it's a standard veterans hall. Dark, bar the main attraction, with tables, pool tables too, quiet in the afternoon. The wings part was pretty busy, with dine in and carry out customers. And I knew that, and I knew wings take a while, so I was prepared to wait. Service was excellent, friendly, helpful, from several people during my stay. And the food was excellent. I was going to get onion rings, but they said on Wednesdays they don't have room in the fryer for those. I was a little disappointed because I figured they probably have great onion rings. Oh well. So I got the pretzel bites. A fairly small order for seven dollars, but the best pretzel bites I've ever had, I think because they were deep-fried. (They're smaller than onion rings.) Hot and crispy on the outside, tender inside, with a good honey mustard sauce. You can also get ranch I think. And since wings were a dollar I wanted to get a bunch but I wasn't super hungry, so I got six. Regular wings, with the Alabama white sauce. Perfectly cooked, big, meaty, juicy wings, crispy on the outside, covered with sauce but not smothered. The sauce was a little smooth and creamy with a little heat from the horseradish, call it medium. Very good. Went well with the wings. The wings even plain would've been excellent. And they have dozens of sauces, a bunch of which I would like to try. Check their Facebook to make sure they're open. The last few months they have had some issues, which seem to be sorted out mostly. Allow yourself some time. Come on Wednesday and get as many wings as you can eat. Mm-mm.

In fact, it was VERY hot, which was a plus since we had to drive home. My mistake was trying a piece while driving, but it was worth it. The second visit was a bit disappointing. We ordered 70 pieces and couldn't wait to get back home to enjoy them. They were overcooked and almost dried out. We had called the order in prior to picking them up, but I know they weren't sitting out that long, as we drove straight there (about 10 minutes) after placing the order. I thought it was just my pieces, but it turns out they were all like that. I suggested that we notify them and see about getting some of the order replaced but the kids were so hungry that they decided to let it go. I'm not angry with the restaurant and am definitely willing to give them another try, but looking back, I should have told them about the problem. We'll see during the next visit. In the meantime, I can only give them 3 stars. Hopefully next visit will bring up my rating.
