The wings were soo bad! The place just seemed dirty and food took forever! Will not be going back

I rarely, RARELY, leave negative reviews, but this location deserves it. I will preface this by saying that I've eaten at the Draper Wing Nutz many times and have never had a bad experience. That being said, this location alone has assured that I will never be visiting the franchise again. First, the service was absolutely horrible. Our waitress took our orders and basically disappeared, only to be seen again towards the end of the meal. The lady who served the food (I am unsure of her position) was one of the rudest foodservice workers I've ever encountered. My boyfriend and I ordered the 3rd Wheel Deal (more on that later) and were served a basket of buffalo chips, half of which were charred to a blackened crisp. When we politely asked for another batch, the server gave us a confused look and told us that since they were oven baked, they became naturally burnt. This was obviously incorrect as I've been to Wing Nutz a thousand times and have never been served burnt buffalo chips. She ended up taking the chips back, but was incredibly rude and argumentative in the process. Our waitress didn't come once to ask how the food was and didn't seem to care at all when she saw how little we had eaten. We frequently saw both the waitress and server walking around aimlessly, chatting, and not paying a whole lot of attention to any of the diners. Second, the food. Absolutely horrible! We spent over $40 on our meal alone and were served skimpy wings, tasteless chicken, and abhorrent "sauce". The second batch of buffalo chips was undercooked and hardly seasoned. Our hot wings were tiny and we were given a single drumstick. The "boneless wings" were essentially unseasoned chunks of chicken tossed in a mildly sweet sauce that pretty much disappeared once they entered the mouth- definitely the most disappointing part of the meal. We ordered the hog wings with teriyaki sauce, which tasted absolutely awful! I'm not sure how you can mess up teriyaki sauce considering it's usually made of only two ingredients, but somehow, they managed. It was unbelievably salty (WAY too much soy sauce) and had an aftertaste of cough syrup. All in all, this is one of the worst dining experiences I've had. I will not be returning to any Wing Nutz locations in the future and would not recommend that you do, either. read more

The majority of our group shared the party platter with a couple other sides. The wings were OK, and the boneless chicken wings were pretty poor - but who orders/likes boneless wings anyways?? The wings are fairly big, but the meat is dry and the sauces are pretty runny so they didn't stick. 2 others got the naked wings with dipping sauces on the side - definitely the way to go! The beer was super watered down because... it's SLC. But this review isn't about the wings or the beer or the food. This is about the staff! We came on Superbowl Sunday since it was the closest sports bar to the house we were renting. I'm not sure if they're like this on a normal day but they had this girl dancing on top of the bar and chairs throughout the night. They also had this drunken woman go around table to table and curse loads. There were several families with kids dining there. Turns out this person was the owner! And it doesn't stop there.. Without getting into too much detail.. she sat on 3+ of the guys in our group's laps (one after another after displaying unrequited love), held her face out while making a kissing face (asking for a smooch), then grabbed and forcefully kissed another, made comments like "I'm going to tear you up", etc... She also knocked over full glasses of water on our table. When I came out of the bathroom, my whole group had run out deciding that the rest of them didn't want to be victims as well. We sat at the bar. Very nice atmosphere and chill waiters, however, our waiter took 10 minutes to acknowledge us. There were only two couples at the bar...they showed no sense of urgency. The bartender (Amber) and other waiters constantly complained about the night, their personal lives, and new hires. They would eat in front of us and our bartender ate while carrying out our food. Not once did we see anyone wash their hands... After we received our food, she rarely came back to check in or to see if we need more Food/beverages. Sooo, we went to Wingnuts and one of the biggest reasons we go there is because of the great servers! Well not now! The owners had to do something pretty bad to run off exceptional people like Whitney and Tori. Whitney held Wingnuts together. They were the best part of that place!! It's a shame that it's a sports bar, because either you can't talk because people yell whenever there's a goal or you lose your friend's interest when they zone into a game on one of the like 30 TV's in the place. Here is a notice to ALL SPORTS BARS in the world: you can either play the sound from 1(one) game OR music NOT BOTH. Playing both is overwhelming and playing more than one game is just the worst. Except for them not being able to decide on a soundtrack, this is a great place to get something fast before a movie across the parking lot. Most of the wings are good but not like spectacular for a place titled after wingz, but their new curry wings are TO DIE FOR. I'm still thinking about them literal weeks later. Wish there was an option for 0 stars. We walked in and no one greeted us. We didn't know what to do since it was a restaurant. A lady from across the restaurant yells and says to sit anywhere. We sit at a table for 10 minutes....no one came to serve us or anything or give us any menus. Food: If you're looking for crispy, flavorful wings, this is not the place to go. We ordered wings and the Irish nachos. The nachos weren't horrible but they also weren't great. When we looked closer we could see bits and chunks of burnt food covered up by the other toppings. The wings. So disappointed. They weren't dry, but they were so soggy and so tasteless that in order to taste anything, we needed to dunk them in ranch and bleu cheese dressing. We ended up asking for a side of sauce which came out cold. Wings come with carrots and celery which were.. not even close to fresh. Food was subpar. And keeping in mind that we were in a HUNGRY state (where almost anything you eat tastes good) but the food still wasn't good isn't a good sign. Service: Service was unexpectedly slow for how little people were in the restaurant. Our server was also not attentive or friendly at all. We had to ask multiple times for extra sauce and then when we were done with our meal, we ended up sitting there, waiting for our check to come while she was chatting up with the people at the bar. However I do not appreciate any waitress, waiter, cook or anyone else serving me burnt product. The pic is the 3rd order of Buffalo chips, those were the burnt chips. It is hard to find good wings in Utah. Wingerz is the opposite of good wings so if you like wingerz maybe don't read my review cause wingerz sucks. These are real wings and bake them instead of deep fry them so you dont feel super gross after you eat a ton of wings. They also have a lot of good sauces to choose from. I prefer to order the Chipotle BBQ and the Raspberry Chipotle sauce. They can take any of the sauces and increase the heat if your into that. The atmosphere at Wing Nutz is also fun because you don't feel like your in the orem/provo area as much. It has a bar and draws a little bit different crowd. I really have enjoyed all the waiters I have had a wing nutz and they make it an enjoyable experience. They are usually pretty quick on bringing you refills, and they know the sauces very well. Last night after my Sister picked me up at the airport she said let's stop by Wing Nutz. I was really shocked that it was beer, wine and wing restaurant. I tried the 5 wing naked with the Parmesan Curry sauce on the side. Boy was that a great sauce just the right amount of Curry and full of flavor. Then the buffalo chips were great and I even was dipping them in the Parmesan Curry. I order a Dark Beer that was made by Wasatch Brewery and it was right up there with the dark beers I have tried in the Seattle area. Nice flavor and very smooth. I will be back. read more

WingNutz is a staple for us. We found out about it from a friend of ours who was involved in the opening of the Orem location. Needless to say I have introduced a LOT of my family and friends to this place both in Utah and Salt Lake Counties. Ambiance: A I am a fan of the sports bar environment but like those that keep a cleaner more family friendly version of that feel. WingNutz has a great sports bar feel but keeps their facility clean, in good repair and with lots of visual appeal without becoming a circa 1990's TGI Fridays style overload. Service: A Every time we have gone we have been handled promptly by friendly waiters who take the restaurant seriously. They know the menu well and take pride in giving you the the best advice. That may seem trivial until you consider their menu is a healthier fare than you expect from a sports bar or wing joint. All of their food is always baked and never fried which can come as a surprise to someone not expecting it. But be not afraid, it is amazing and they can guide you to something to your liking very well. Food: A I love wings... almost as much as Ron Burgandy likes scotch... But this place is a new type of wing that is a love all its own. Their wings are baked not fried and are, as such, very juicy and tender. I like the boneless variety because I feel like I get more meet (it's all in my head I know but I am what I am). The real key is their list of sauces. They have dozens ranging from so mild my toddler loves them all the way up to tear-jerking glory. For those of you who are in the 1 million scoville rating club you will grin at that comment but I am not rating their heat for my pepper loving brothers... for most people their hot... is hot. Personally I LOVE (and I can NOT emphasize that enough) LOVE the Curry Parmesan sauce. I literally wake up craving it. But there are a lot of others that are good. Carolina Mustard, Chili Garlic and Chipotle BBQ top the list. My wife loves the Mango Pom Chipotle and I must admit I do dip a bit into it when she gets it. We love to get them with buffalo chips; don't worry, these are not right off the prairie. They are backed medallions of potato with ranch or blue cheese dipping sauce. they come in plain or spicy or even half and half. I like to get mine with blue cheese crumbles melted on top. Overall: A This is a fantastic joint for a family, a group of buddies or just a light dinner out with the spouse. I'm scoring them a one because, if wings are your namesake, then my socks should suitably be rocked. In short, the wings sucked. Sorry to break it to Orem / Provo, but there you have it. The pork rib things are decent, and the buffalo chips (potatoes) were actually pretty good. Service was a little surly, but not terrible. They are open on Sunday evenings, so that's a plus. Best and really only place around to get a beer. Wings are baked, there are a ton of sauces to choose from. Wings are good, hot & juicy! Small downside, if you are a person who likes extra ranch/blue cheese dressing to dip...your first cup is free, there after its $.99 per cup :( boo, but plus side cups are big and if you pick a good sauce then ranch/blue cheese isn't really necessary!
