Great Indian food! I've been through all of the vegetarian offerings and I find myself returning to Aloo Gobi and the Mixed Vegetable over and over again. If you like spicy, request "suicide hot"- they don't mess around. Beer is available on site. You can order online through the website, pay online or pay when you pick up. There isn't a ton of seating, but I've never been in there when there wasn't at least one table available. Eh pretty good. Definitely not the best indian food ever by any stretch but decent, and at a decent price too, especially if you go during the lunch buffet. Also I like the buffalo flavor on the wings. But you can get better wings across the street at Wings Over. The atmosphere is extremely lacking though. Clean but dingy, college dive-bar. Plastic seats, paper plates. But they make up for it with a nice attitude of the staff. I never go there by myself but don't mind it if someone else wants to in a big group outting. read more

First off, it's "Wing Express," not "Wings Express," for what that's worth -- I'm sure the proprietors would appreciate people getting the name right. I've had the Indian food there on occasion over many years, and it's very good indeed. I recommend taking it out; there are tables, but the atmosphere isn't all that great. The spiciness varies, so Medium isn't always the same Medium, etc. That doesn't bother me so much, but might be an issue for those who are particular. I have only one negative to say, and that's about the wings. I don't know when they won all their awards for the buffalo wings, but I finally tried them for the first time tonight, and they were so overcooked as to be largely inedible. That seems strange for a place renowned for its wings. I won't be ordering them again, though I'd go back for the korma. read more

The food is good, but it doesn't make up for how rude and late they were. I've ordered delivery from here twice and both times, it has gotten to me at least 30 minutes late. I called after I waited over an hour and the man I spoke to apologized and stated that they were busy. I said "has the driver left yet?" and he said that they were waiting for the driver to get back from other deliveries. I then asked for a time estimate, and the guy snapped at me and essentially yelled at me, "we're busy! we're busy!" I've worked in a restaurant for over two years, and I understand that it can get busy and backed up at times, but it is no excuse to be rude to customers. The food is incredible and the appropriate price but I always have issues with the drivers during food delivery. Nearly every. single. time. I give very specific instructions as to where we should meet and every.single.time. the driver will ask me to walk about 3 blocks to another location to meet. For starters, they are in a car, I am not. Especially right now, the weather is horrible and it is absolutely frigid outside. Also, I made the directions incredibly clear when I was on the phone. I have had this issue maybe five times with them, one man in particular is incredibly frustrating, trying to say that my directions or address were incorrect. At this point, I have started to stand my ground and when they ask if I will meet them elsewhere I politely ask them to drive to where I originally asked. The one man that I have had an issue with is quite aggressive on the phone but when I arrive to pick it up has a big ol smile and pretends to act friendly but I can only imagine that is for a greater tip. 4 years in Texas and I still cannot find anything that can compete with Wings Express. I legitimately miss their wings.. just thinking about them can make your mouth water! This was by far the worst Indian food I have ever had. I ordered chicken vindaloo, (a spicy chicken and potato curry) and "tandoori naan". My vindaloo tasted like tomato soup with all the wrong spices, and had no texture whatsoever. The chicken was overcooked, so tough and chewy that it was hard to eat. They didn't even bother putting potatoes in it. The naan was store-bought, not from a tandoori, and absolutely terrible. They put butter on it instead of ghee. The tables were sticky and wobbly. The rice was good, so that made the experience a little less traumatizing. Ugh. My wife ordered mattar paneer, and she reported that it was worse than a tv dinner version of the dish she had had before. read more

My roommate, my girlfriend and I ordered a 6 pc Boneless Wings and Cajun Curly Fries for an extra dollar, Plain Yogurt for three dollars, Goat Biryani for $13.99, and Chicken Tikka Masala. The only thing that came out correct was the Chicken Tikka Masala, and wings. We didn't get the Yogurt, or the Curly Fries. That's four dollars wasted. The Goat Biryani was really salty, and not enjoyable, and essentially got wasted because it was unbearable (not to mention we asked for no peas, and guess what, we got peas!) When we found out about these things, we called to tell them that our order was wrong, and they said "sorry, we're closed" and hung up. Then we called a second time, and they said "Sorry, when we're busy this happens." and hung up again. I don't understand how you can treat a customer with this little respect. We do not plan on ordering from Wings Express again, it was a terrible experience. read more

I'm impressed with the wings and would gladly order them time and time again. I've only gotten the hot buffalo wings from them but I'm very happy with them, and they smell very very good whenever I'm bringing them home. The Indian food is good as well- the chicken as well as the vegetarian dishes are very good and they are consistent with their products. There is an option for mild, medium, and hot, though I found the chicken vindaloo not to be screaming hot as I thought they would be :) The things I've had are good enough that I haven't felt the need to try anything new, but I hope to in the future as I'll be going back regularly. read more

I am not usually the one to order spicy food like this, but I got the medium spiced chicken curry and spiced tea and I loved it. I don't know how authentic this food was, but I don't care - it was great. The rice was good and I could actually taste the garlic in the garlic naan. The chicken wasn't chewy and I'll say it again, the tea was amazing! I'm gonna go there for just the tea, I'm sure. The food here is pretty good, and the Indian is (sadly) the best around, but I don't think that I have ever seen a more poorly managed restaurant. More often than not, our order is wrong, with at least one item omitted. Things are sometimes ready 20 minutes before they say it would be (so you're greeted with cold food) but not uncommonly, things aren't ready for 30 minutes AFTER they say they would be. Delivery estimate anywhere off campus is always "45 minutes" but is more accurately "sometime between 30 minutes and 2 hours." Please please please hire a manager that knows how to run a restaurant! read more

I used to eat at this place all the time during my time at UConn. The food is always delicious and the staff is very friendly. I never tried the wings but the Indian food was always excellent. Ordered wings online. Ordered a bigger size and wanted half the super spicy kind and half the garlic parm since one person can't eat the spicy stuff. Got all super spicy wings, order butchered. The delivery was really fast which at first pleased me, but then I realized they sent the delivery driver with wings that had been made many hours, maybe even days before, they were heated up for sure. They had the taste inside (the meat) of what you would taste when you microwave old fried chicken or rotisserie a few days after the day it was made, you know with the weird taste and all. The fries were great, but not enough to give them more than a one star review. Wings over seems to make their wings regularly and I regret using foodie points to try wing express. Maybe their Indian food is better as it seems the place is run by Indians, but I'd avoid the wings altogether. read more

While this establishment has wonderful Indian food, the real reason to come here is the WINGS!!! When I lived at UConn, I would walk here at least 2 or 3 times a week. The sauce is made in-house and it is the absolute best I have had in my life. I have searched far and wide for a wings place that can rival this since graduating, but alas in the past 3 years have been unable to. Going back there recently reminded me how dang good they are. Horrible service. Delivery took 2 hrs beyond what the expected time was and still delivered the wrong order. They will replace your food with something you didn't order and expect to charge you for it without any indication of a change in the order. If you must order from here only pay with cash when or if you get your food because if you pay first and don't get your food, or a wrong order, then the owner doesn't want to give you a refund. read more
