I've been in the car business for over 8 years, including time behind the finance desk, and I've…read morenever encountered anything as unprofessional, misleading, and frustrating as my experience with Mike Anderson Chevrolet. I purchased a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 from them earlier this year, and what should have been a smooth transaction turned into a months-long nightmare that I am still dealing with to this day. Deceptive Sales Process I first contacted the dealership on January 31st after finding the truck listed on their website. It was advertised as a Chevrolet Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle -- this was a major selling point for me. After discussing financing and pricing, the salesman later told me that the truck was not actually certified -- but "pre-certified" -- and that the advertised CPO status would cost me an additional $1,995. Not only was that never disclosed upfront, but it was in direct contradiction to the listing on their own site and the vehicle's Carfax report. I will attach a screenshot of the listing clearly showing that the truck was advertised as Chevrolet Certified, as well as documentation from the Carfax. This kind of bait-and-switch is deceptive and dishonest. It's a tactic designed to artificially inflate profit by misrepresenting what's included in the advertised price. Predatory Financing Pressure Originally, I planned to use my own credit union. Then I noticed the dealership's website offered a Capital One pre-approval tool, and I already had a pre-approval with Capital One, who is one of their advertised preferred lenders. I'll also attach a screenshot showing their website promoting Capital One Auto Navigator. I told them Capital One was the only bank I wanted my credit submitted to, and they said that would be no problem. Then, out of nowhere, the sales manager refused to sell me the truck at all unless I financed through GM Financial. Not only did he pull the discount, he outright refused to sell the vehicle unless I used a lender of his choosing. This was an absolutely outrageous abuse of power and a blatant attempt to maximize back-end profit through a higher interest rate. (Which, by the way, was nearly 5% higher than what I was already approved for.) I went through with the financing -- fully knowing I would immediately refinance -- but the entire transaction left me disgusted. Post-Sale Neglect & Tag Delays I signed paperwork on Feb. 18. The truck was delivered on Feb. 25 -- with no temporary tag, making it illegal to drive. I didn't receive a temp tag until Feb. 27 after repeated follow-ups. As part of the out-of-state sale, the dealership used a third-party registration company (ATC), a company I've worked with many times. They're efficient -- when the dealership provides what's needed. But after my sale, I received zero updates on my permanent registration. I started asking about my plates on March 31st, and despite dozens of calls, voicemails, and emails -- not one person from finance or the title department has responded to this day. I've left countless voicemails and received nothing back. It's now been over four months. My first temp tag was about to expire, and even then, I had to beg for a second one. I sent messages on May 21, May 25, May 27, and finally on May 31 -- two days after my tag expired -- I got a response with another excuse. I didn't receive the second temp tag until June 2nd. Out of desperation, I even emailed seven different managers listed on their website. Not a single one responded. Final Thoughts This entire experience has been a masterclass in how not to run a dealership. I've never encountered such a blatant disregard for honesty, professionalism, or customer follow-up. If they're willing to treat a knowledgeable, experienced buyer like this -- I shudder to think how they treat customers who aren't familiar with the process. I have filed complaints with the: Better Business Bureau Chicago Automobile Trade Association Illinois Automobile Dealers Association Illinois Secretary of State's Motor Vehicle Review Board Avoid Mike Anderson Chevrolet at all costs. I'll be including screenshots of the misleading listing and the false advertising of Capital One as a preferred lender. Let this serve as a warning to anyone considering doing business here.

GM replies to reviews stating to reach out directly but I HAVE numerous times and absolutely no communication back. Please avoid this dealership unless you want to deal with the legal hassle of being financially responsible for a vehicle you are no longer in possession of!

Jack made sure the car was in excellent condition and ready to go, gave a follow-up call to ensure everything was going well and even provided his personal information and responded quickly to all my follow-up questions. Anyway, so i brought the car around 9:30 am, was assigned to a service advisor Thomas, dropped the car off and received a link to an online tracker that does a poor job updating the status of the car. Tracker had not moved from "arrival" until around 1pm with a laundry list of services amounting to $3K. I of course declined all of them except for the oil change service i went there for. I made a plan of taking it somewhere to get those services as the price would be less that at the dealer's. Then i got a call from the service advisor Thomas who persuaded me to do 3 of the myriad services on the list, as these were the reasons for the engine light. I hesitantly and regretfully said yes. Thomas informed me to give him 2 hours to get the services done and never head from him ever again. Went to the dealer around the time i was told the car woud be ready, around 3:30pm and i waited patiently in that lounge for 3 more hours with no Thomas checking on me nor updating me via text/call. The online tracker says service still "in progress" so i kept waiting. At 4:15 pm i texted them about the status of my car, and got no reply. I realized the text i initally received from them with an online traicker is not something you can reply to. I called around 5:15pm, no reaponse, left a message. It was around 5:55 pm, i was the only person left in that lounge, when i went outside to get some air, when i saw my car parked outside. So i went in to look for Thomas, but was told by the attendant guy on the service desk that Thomas left but would be back in 2 minutes. I told him my car is outside and asked if it was ready. The guy said to wait for Thomas. So i went back to the lounge until 6:25 pm when i noticed staff clocking out for the day. Went back to the service area where most lights were turned off already. The inattentive attendant guy on the desk from earlier was just sitting there watching videos on his phone, and i asked him again where the heck was my service advisor. I told him my car has been sitting outside for over an hour now and Thomas was nowhere to be heard or found. Guy hastily called Thomas and it turned out, my car had been ready all this time. Paid $$$ for the services i was bamboozled to, just to get rudely ignored and receive the crappiest customer service, no apologies or acknowledgement for their non-communication and negligence. So much for their department being called a Service Department. What i went through in spite of my patience was a disservice from McGrath Hyundai. They employ negligent service agent who seemed to only call you to bamboozle you into getting add on $ervices$, and inattentive staff who are busy on their phones while on the clock, than tending to their customers. Lesson learned. This was a stab in the heart. I will not be bringing my car there for service. And oh, to drive the knife deeper, check engine light went back on after driving 30 miles post-service. And that stupid useless tracker still says service in progress. Do better McGrath Hyundai.
