The car in question is a vehicle that photographs nicely from 10 or 15 feet. Closer examination indicates a lot of rust repairs that are no longer hiding the rust, which has broken through the paint and indicate every panel on the car is rusty. Additionally, the clutch, brakes and carb need serious work to make the car safe and drivable. Very disappointed that these things were not properly disclosed to me, the customer. I would not recommend doing business here at all. The car was misrepresented. If I had known it was a "rust bucket" the bid would not have been made on BringaTrailer.com. Do not trust internet descriptions and photos that are deliberately failing to point out the real serious issues on a car. I see I am not the only person to have such experiences with this dealership.

They have several quality vehicles for sale and the prices are dirt cheap for the quality of work they put into their restorations. A friend of mine is getting a '63 Chevy Impala restored. For $2, you get to go into the restoration garage and see what they're doing, what they've done, and some of the vehicles they have for sale. The money goes to charity. I saw first hand the amount of care and detail they put into the restoration of this Chevy. This car will be better than when it first came off the line in Detroit. It's amazing the amount of detail they've put into just this one vehicle! As far as their friendly service, I asked about my late model Buick that was having paint issues, and I need a mirror. Although they don't do the small work like that, they were quick to give me phone numbers to reputable places that they deal with for paint questions and late model parts. Outstanding. If you're in the area, stop by, pay the money, bring a rag. You don't want to leave any drool on the cars. If they happen to be closed, there's a slot outside the door with current vehicles and prices that they have to offer. If you're looking for that quality restoration vehicle but don't have the time to work on it yourself, these are the folks you need to talk to. Everything you can imagine. Model T's to Muscle Cars. Call them, check them out online, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Here is what I was told after asking many questions over a few phone conversations with Michael... - The car was in good condition - The previous owner owned it for a long time and took good care of it - The ABS light was on due to the ABS module being removed - There was one small ding under rear trunk lid - This was a non-smokers car They picked me up at the airport (20 min away from dealership), Here's the list in order of what I found when we pulled up... - The car was already running when we pulled up. I was told battery was dead so needed a jump. - Remote for doors did not work - Rear left door didn't open. At all. - Opened drivers door, sat down, smelled like a humidor. Reeked of cigar smoke - Drivers seat broken. Right side of the 'back' was 2" farther to the rear then the left side of the seat. You're back is being forced to the right side of the car. - Check engine light on - Low coolant light on - Traction control light on - Oil pressure indicator was blinking with the car idling and there was a message on the digital dash screen that said "STOP!ENGINE OILPRESS" So. Michael explains that this can happen when a battery goes dead. He's right. It can, so I take off for a drive. Here's what I learned... - Front suspension shot. It was so loose, taking curves on and off the highway was scary - Tires shot - Brakes warped. Hit the brakes, and the car shudders to a stop So not too surprisingly, I decided I wasn't buying this car. But the best part was after I told Michael this, he starts looking up the phone number for the cab company... THEY CAN'T GIVE ME A RIDE BACK TO THE AIRPORT RIGHT NOW. There's no one that can take me. Maybe in a couple hours? There's Michael, there's another salesman, there's the guy running the place, and there's a shop full of guys in the back. NICE. In conclusion, Luxury Auto Exchange cost me $575 for two one way tickets AND a cab ride between Minneapolis and Chicago so I could learn that these guys, though very friendly on the phone, have no problem mis-representing their cars to get you there regardless of what it's costing that person in the first place. Is not disclosing information lying? I did expressly ask about it being a non-smoking car and that answer was a complete lie. Maybe next time I'll ask if every warning light on the dash is on. Many good reviews for this place but not from me. Thanks for reading and good luck.

For God sake, do not buy a car here. Do NOT deal with George Chiarelli. The person is a con-man…read more I purchased a car from here and he promised to ship the car to me as I live across the country. It has been 1 month since the agreement was finalized. I have paid in full already, but my car is not here. I found out that George was lying to be about the shipment company, because he told me every week they are coming to pick up the car and they had to reschedule. But I found out the company, called them, and they said he gave them a low-ball offer to pick up the car so they never agreed to ship it! When I call him and email him, he is rude and says I am wasting his time. When I say my car has been paid in full and he agreed to ship it, he says he is a "very resourceful and diligent guy". I can use quite the opposite adjectives to describe him. He is a con-man. I am not sure if I am getting my $182,500 back I spent on my luxury car. It has been 1 month since I purchased it and he doesn't ship it. Each week he has a different excuse, and he tells me he will follow up but never does. Quite the service for buying a luxury car from "Luxury Auto XChange". Read his other reviews on here, they all say he is dishonest and doesn't provide adequate service. I agree. I have hired an attorney, the Illinois Attorney General! UPDATE: car was delivered, but with only 1 key, no mats, no books, as was supposed to be delivered. I have contacted George but he continues to lie. AND George owed me $1400 for back taxes he didn't pay for the car prior to me purchasing it, that I reluctantly paid at the DMV when I Took possession of the vehicle. After 6 months of the Attorney General prodding George and Luxury Auto XChange to send the check, they did. Guess what, I went to cash it the day after and it was a "bad" check. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The attorney is having fun with this case :)

I purchased my vehicle on March 13, 2026, with 113,984 miles, working directly with salesperson Jake Mayo. The vehicle currently has 117,005 miles. Within a short period of ownership, I encountered a significant engine-related issue tied to a known manufacturer concern (Technical Service Bulletin). While I understand that higher-mileage vehicles carry inherent risk, this type of issue was not reasonably apparent at the time of sale. What has been most disappointing is not simply the issue itself, but the lack of support and communication afterward. I made multiple documented attempts to contact the dealership for assistance on 4/10/26, 4/22/26, and 4/29/26, and received no response or meaningful engagement from the salesperson. This lack of follow-up occurred before any formal dispute and reflects a broader concern regarding customer service after the sale. After escalating to management, I approached the situation in good faith and offered a reasonable compromise--requesting a shared cost of repair--even while acknowledging that the issue fell outside of their written policy. That offer was declined. The dealership's response relied entirely on contractual language, including: - The expiration of a 15 day / 500 mile implied warranty period - The position that manufacturer-related issues fall solely on the manufacturer - The assertion that approximately 3,000 miles of use constitutes "significant" use - The statement that the vehicle remained operable To be clear, I do not dispute that these points may align with policy. However, they do not address the core concerns: 1. The complete lack of response from the salesperson despite multiple attempts to communicate 2. The absence of any proactive customer support when a known manufacturer issue surfaced shortly after purchase 3. The unwillingness to consider even minimal goodwill assistance in resolving a legitimate concern These are not contractual issues--they are business practice decisions. Buyers should also be aware of the limitations of the "4 month / 4,000 mile" warranty offered. It is capped at $1,500 and applies only to certain powertrain components. In today's repair environment, where labor rates can reach $170 per hour and major engine repairs often cost several thousand dollars, this level of coverage is limited and may not provide meaningful financial protection in the event of a serious issue. My takeaway is straightforward: If your vehicle performs without issue, your experience may be positive. However, if a problem arises--especially one tied to a known manufacturer concern--you should expect the dealership to default strictly to policy, without flexibility, advocacy, or additional support. The consistent reliance on standardized responses reinforces that approach. I made every effort to resolve this situation professionally, including direct outreach, escalation, and a reasonable cost-sharing proposal. The outcome reflects not a misunderstanding of policy, but a clear example of how post-sale concerns are handled. I would strongly encourage potential buyers to evaluate not only the purchase itself, but also how the dealership responds when issues arise after the sale. That is where the true measure of a business is demonstrated.
