Contacted Bose motors about a car they had advertised for sale. John responded with email. Gave some general information and I asked for more specifics. I asked if the wipers, radio, turn signals, etc worked. I also asked for a few photos of undercarriage. John's response was "We don't ship cars, people who ask those questions want cars shipped. "Not once did I inquire if they shipped cars. Their lot is over an hour away. I responded that people ask those questions to know if it is worth their time to drive over an hour to look at a car. John never answered the questions. I am guessing he didn't want to put anything in writing that would be proven wrong. Bought a car from here. Runs good, but it's a rust bucket. The under body is rusty and there was even a repair to the frame once upon a time. This place only cared about the sale. Now I have a car, that's running good but rusting right underneath me as I drive. Took it to a frame and axle place, going to cost me closed to half on what I spent buying the car. By reading the reviews I see that if the customer had an issue whomever does the replies I (assume it is Mike) blames the customer and offers that they tried to help. It was overall a great experience. No push into buying. Mike my salesman just handed me the keys and let me do my thing. I looked over the Acura MDX very extensively. And started negotiating with the issues. The check engine light was on and we read the code and he offered to discount the price cause I said I would fix it. I was in and out and there was no looking over the shoulder feeling. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because there were no floor mats and the navigation system doesn't work. We were looking for a solid used car for our twenty something son. We were referred to Bose Motors. I did my research - free Carfax on every one of their cars. All had single owners, accident free histories. Nice interiors with minimal exterior issues. We test drove 3 and settled on a 2011 Nissan Altima with 91K miles for $5995. We took it to our mechanic and he thought it was a great value too! Needs 2 tires which we knew. Mike rocked as our salesperson. My son is very happy and likes his car more and more each week. Went in looking at a truck for a reasonable price, me being a mechanic I looked it over the best I could checked as much as I could, asked if it gets inspected and fixed which they say it does at some shop for hours away.... upon my quick inspection found right front axle had a lot of play, tie rods had a little play to the best I could see, it had 5 year old pretty dry rotted tires, oil leak on top of manifold in engine bay. Couple dings in the rear bumper, ripped seat that was staples together, a wood board drilled into the back of bed, and a wierd makeshift hanger inside the car. It doesn't look like it had been detailed or cleaned just a quick poor vacuum.didn't even bother to throw out a hanger. Asked for a thousand less even and didn't bother adjusting price pretty much didn't care how dirty it was just saying it was cheaper around then some. If the place that does inspections let's that pass I'm scared for anyone else that gets that truck or others for that matter. And not understanding why the have a place 4 hours away to do inspections, on the test drive they would let me go around the block that's it.Didn't help on price especially when you buy it and now already have to throw another thousand dollar set of tires on it because the trucks lifted plus other bad parts that need to be replaced. When I first called Bose, Jim's first question was, "Will you be financing or paying cash?" Really?! We drove 45 minutes to see the car, questioned a few things, and Jim said, "We don't negotiate the price. It is what is it." So, we left. I called the next day, requested to speak with someone else and he said, "There is no one else. They're busy." I asked for the manager, and again, "No, I am the only person who can help you." That's bullsh*t! There were at least 7 people in the building (without masks or social distancing) the day prior. I tried saying I would not be to speak with him and he then over spoke, interrupted me, and became sarcastic. I literally asked him to negotiate based on the issues, asked if he wanted to sell a car, and he tried man-splaining! I inevitably had to end the conversation. Bose Motors sold me a 2008 Toyota Rav4 Sport at the beginning of June, 2019 that within 15days/500miles had major Power Train failures. Initially, they provided me with a reasonably friendly and straightforward car-buying process as far as used car dealers go. I found it funny that they wouldn't let me get a standard third party pre-purchase inspection done on the car. However, as an experienced car buyer, I felt comfortable with the vehicle and went ahead with the purchase. Two weeks in to ownership I'd been to the the mechanic 4 times (including a Toyota Dealer) and spent $448 for what is now diagnosed as head gasket failure (via a coolant block test and external leaks) and internal engine damage (evidenced by significant amounts of metal shavings in the engine oil/filter). Estimates for repair are round $5000+ and I have been without a car since 6/12/19. I tried to enlist Illinois' implied used car warranty (see links), but this dealer is trying to claim no Power Train components were damaged at the time of sale or within the 500mile warranty period, even though these problems started well within the 500mile range (as documented by service odometer records). Bose Motors is giving me the run around saying they will only cover my first service fee of $200 for a coolant top off and won't pay for anything else, as they're required to by law. What are my options now? I purchased my 1st car from Bose in December 2017. The service was great, however my car has been a DISASTER ever since, so that's what this review is about. After I purchased my car, it wouldn't start for 3 days straight. I finally I changed the oil and it started working just fine. About 5 months later, I start having issues with the transmission. I rarely drive (just around my neighborhood), so I knew it was a preexisting problem. I took it to a repair shop and I was told most of the gears were completely stripped. Eventually the car stopped accelerating altogether and I had to pay $1,500 for repairs (Bose does not offer warranties). It's been barely 2 months since that repair, and now my radio/dash lights are cutting on and off randomly. I'm so frustrated because every time I turn around something else is wrong with this car. Yes, that's the risk of buying a used car, but that's why I urge you to really think about if you're willing to purchase from these guys (or anyone) without a warranty. read more

This is a small family owned car dealership and they sell cars for cheap. I recently drove from Michigan to buy one of their cars and so far it has been a less than satisfactory experience. They are not familiar with having a check delivered to them from a bank overnight. Not sure how else they do business with people who are pre-approved and financing through their bank and plan to talk down the price. Not only did I agree to their price tag (simply because it was in my budget) even with a faint smoke smell and no emblems, my bank and I went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable with the transaction (seems backwards doesn't it?). We sent them the tracking number and a picture of the check. It was delivered 5 days ago. I still haven't heard back from them after numerous attempts to contact them via email and phone for them to overnight me the title of the car. What's worse, is I've been emailing the manager AND the sales associate. Not even the manager has respect for his business to respond to a customer. I do not recommend going here. We purchased a Honda Pilot on 4/29 and by 5/3 the check engine light was on. Before we purchased the vehicle, we asked Mike if our vehicle came from an auto auction and he insisted that it did not. He told us that all of the cars came from a trade in dealer in Wisconsin- he is sticking to that story. We searched the VIN number, made a few phone calls, and learned that our vehicle was sent to the Fox Valley Auto Auction on 1/3. We thought Mike was the NICEST guy...so kind and thoughtful and now we are explaining to our 13 year old son that lies can be veiled in sweetness. The money is the smaller issue....it is the lack of integrity that we experienced from this place. I found Bose Motors online. I had finally found the truck ive always wanted after looking for several months. I drove 4 hours to the dealership and there it was the perfect truck. I test drove the car very briefly they would only allow me to drive the vehicle around the block and back. The truck seemed fine and we closed the deal within a couple hours. I left and immediately had a oil pressure issue. I took it straight back to the dealer and there mechanic said it was a sensor and would cost about 3-4 hundred to replace and could not do it until monday this was a friday i was there. I had spoke to my mechanic from home and he stated the same sensor that would need replaced would only be around 80 - 100 to replace and i was honest with the dealer. The boss wrote me a check to have the repair made at home. After all of that was replaced the truck was back on the road. I drove my new truck about 3 months and then the money started poring out in repairs. I had to replace both front wheel hubs, a front cv axel and upper and lower A-arms on both sides, and ball joints in the front end of the truck. All well it was over and done. Not to say at the least. In all i paid around $15,000 for this truck from the dealer and after the first chunk of repairs that were made costing around 800. I got about 9,000 miles and 3 months out of it and the engine blew, the truck had to sit for 8 months before i could get the money saved to have it fixed. I had to replace all the lifters, valve seals,and head gasket on one side of the motor. I could not afford to do both sides of the motor but only what was currently damaged. Costing another $1400 in repairs. Bottom line is the motor was not taken care of it had not been properly maintained. I had to replace all breaks all rotors and cannot keep the engine light from coming back and haunting me. Im simply afraid to even drive the vehicle without causing another issue. I just got the truck back from getting the engine repaired and starting to have issues with the other side of the motor it is burning oil. Ive never had so much bad luck with a vehicle. This dealership sold me a good looking lemon and i have never felt taken until then when i bought the vehicle. This truck was expensive to me as a monthly payment let alone the thousands in repairs. And ive only put about 12,000 miles on the truck in the 1.5 years ive owned it. This deal put me and my family in a financial mess that we struggled to deal with. I hope this company takes more pride in the quality of there merchandise and that this does not happen to anyone else. read more
