Came here because only one of my speakers were working and wanted to figure out why. They told me all the speakers were blown and I gotta change them all out. Also had to rewire the deck? Got quoted around 500 for rewire and new speakers, I figured was gonna at least sound cherry. I was disappointed, maybe my dewalt speaker wasn't so bad after all. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. I came here to get a full upgrade to my sound system and add an alarm which I did. I gave the boss a spending limit and he did NOT show me what I was getting for my money BEFORE paying for anything. I was also not given an itemized reciept on what I bought or what the cost of my system actually was. I was given the picture that is attached. I was 2nd guessing everything but it was too late because I had paid for everything. All he did was show me was what sub I was getting. His guys also installed the wrong sub in my car different than what I was initially showed. No one told me that they installed the wrong sub until it was time to pick it up. No one reached out to tell me that it was the wrong one I had to call them to say that its not the one i paid for and i was told "oh yeah looks like the last one was sold" like why didnt you say that prior? the only thing good about this place is that they were flexible in installing. Brought my car in to install my speakers, 4 channel amp, and my equalizer. Got a call saying my 4 channel amp is broke. Channels 1 and 2 do not work which I found odd since it's a newer amp that I just bought a month ago and just 2 days before bringing it to them to install I had it in my truck that I traded in and everything was working fine. I told them to just still use the amp and I'll order another one and swap it out. I pick up my car and I got home and was curious as to why channels 1 and 2 weren't working. I took off the wires connected to channel 3 and 4 for my door speakers and hook it up to channels 1 and 2 and guess what it works. I have a feeling they were trying to rip me off and force me into buying an amp from them. read more

Less then a week after installing my alarm and actuators, my bf had to go back because the alarm wasn't working due to a loose line. Then a week after we went back the first time we had to go back again because the back door wasnt locking properly. Then i thought it was fixed but wasnt and had to go back AGAIN, but this time when we tried to schedule an appt to bring it back the store kept canceling on us and rescheduling, my bf works and hes constantly taking it in to get it fixed but it never gets done! They rescheduled on him two times and after that we are already more then irritated cuz we gotta do it on "their time". Fricken ridiculous. I do not recommend coming here. This place is a joke! I went to this shop to switch the back DVD headrest to the front. One of the owners with the glasses that was "helping" me was just down right rude. I was in the middle of asking a question and he left to talk to another customer. I noticed the way he spoke to the other customer (male) was very friendly and polite, but when he spoke to me (female) the customer service was very poor. A little sexist if you ask me. He quoted the work to take over an hour, costing about $100, and wouldn't be able to do the job till next week. I drove to Car Audio & Security Specialist in Kailua right after. They immediately started working on my truck, it took less then half hour, cost under $50, and all the guys there were super friendly. Don't go to Windward Audio... I've recently had a bunch of stuff done here. Upgraded all stock speakers, added a 5 channel amp with sub and a gps with front and rear facing cameras. Tim the owner made it a simple process and recommended great products based on my responses to a few of his questions. When I got my car back I was really impressed with the quality of work done on my 2016 pathfinder. The dash kit looked clean and they did an extremely nice job mounting my amp in the rear storage compartment securing it out of sight. The skill set of the installers working here seems second to none! They're also very friendly and reviewed the location of my camera and bass switches with me at pickup. Their team is professional. I truly believe the best way to measure service is how you're handled when things go wrong. Last night I fried my sub due to the location of some of my personal belongings in my trunk (pressed up against the sub and totally my fault). I went in today to find out how to go about replacing it. No questions asked Tim replaced the sub and even threw a grill on it this time so I won't run into same issue in the future. Honestly, I was prepared for a 20 minute discussion. Not here!!! I was going to rate them 5 stars after the initial install but forgot. After this experience they deserve 10! I would recommend them to anyone looking for sound or security services. Can't understand why anyone would rate them less than 5 stars. read more

Called this place asking pricing on touch screen I dash unit with rear view camera, since I just purchased a car with stock system and was used to review view cam on old car. Guy over the phone Quoted me 450 with installation. I though this as weird since promo is 299 he said installation. Was 150 as camera would be mounted plus wires had to run to back so I said ok. We showed up dropped of car and went to eat installation takes 2 hrs. We can back early and guy said, "remember over the phone I asked if u had dbl din already.... I said 1st off u said u were not the guy who called me and u asked what the guys quoted me earlier second I informed that guy I had a stock stereo. He now tells me they don't have the kit for my car but would cost 50 more and need to order. I said no ty I can order but he said we began modifying the dash to fit it. Well wtf now it's too late to say stop, so I said f it just continue. And wow does it look bad. If that wasn't bad enough I paid then he tried to change price again I said no I was quoted 450 including tax and everything to match other competitions advertised price. He took money and gave keys so me and my kids were off. No one to show me how to use or assist in any way. Terrible service and rip off price as everywhere else includes the kit. Now if that wasn't bad enough the first thing I did was give my son his phone and daughter hers but all I saw was her empty case. After looking everywhere I walked in and asked the guy if they saw it as the last place google gps marked it was here. He went to the back and came out with the phone said ohh my installer thought it was theirs as they had same phone... which was in a Pokémon case and removed sure buddy sure. Then the phone had drop marks and scratches all around the screens thank god we had a screen protector but I was already upset just wanted out so I grabbed phone and left. I went back to car and was missing a few other thing walked back and talked to the installers and they returned it. Then we drove off my son was upset phone was dead and I didn't think anything of it till I got home. Plugged into charger and nothing looked closer and screen was cracked.. So to recap I paid 450 for a half ass installation as they didn't even bother to look if they had the kit or call me to say do u want it without the kit. Then tried to steel my daughter phone, possibly my sons if they didn't accidentally sit on it or something and broke the screen. Didn't even bother to say something. Now yes maybe I shouldn't have left my kids phone but they just used it for the 25 min car ride and didn't want to carry around a 2 dead phones everywhere we walked while we wait for a 2 hr installation. This place makes me sick. How do you do this to people on Christmas Eve, rip off lies steel and break and above all a crap job. I will return everything on Monday and am filing a police report. So, I got this cool Soundstream VIR-8011n DVD deck from the hubby for my birthday! YAy ME! Took it here to have it installed....they took it in same day, and were done within an hour and a half! (NOT BAD) When I first pulled up, both of the garage employees were cranky, and shaking their head that a customer had just walked in at 3PM when they closed at 6PM. haha DEAL WITH IT HOMEBOYS!! Walking past those two knuckleheads, I walked into the office/sales room and it was surprisingly neat and large for an audio store. Some of the guys sounded knowledgeable, some didn't. The guy who rung me up was undoubtedly JUST a good salesperson, overly assuring....you know that kine! All in all...I think their price for just a straight install was average ($80 + $30 for the spacers). 1 DOWNFALL: they did not give back the keys needed to remove the unit (in case i want to take it somewhere else, or do it myself) or the original operator's manual, although I have not yet called to see if i can get them back. Car audio shops are probably the scariest businesses to go into. So very often they are ran by crooked dudes that will take advantage of anybody they can. I called Windward audio, asked for a price on a simple alarm system for my 04 Tacoma that was a nice brand. They gave told me a price that I was comfortable with. I told them when I could come, when I got there at specified time they started it quickly, finished quickly, gave me the price they offered on the phone. Joe was the one who helped me most and he seemed like a pretty straightforward dude trying to run a clean business. A simple Viper alarm was installed, it works great no problems with install. Wow! How come all audio shops can't function like that! They also had prices posted on a lot of the car audio which I think is awesome, it shows that they are being up front. Here is the price, you like, you buy. Not like a lot of shops where you ask them how much, they look you up and down and decider how much they can get you to pay for it. I think I come off like someone who doesn't know much about that business but I do, and am passionate about big sounds. I love designing my stereo, building boxes, doing my own installs. But for certain things like alarms, getting something I need fast, or even a little help I appreciate very much having some people I can trust. This is the third time that I have used windward audio for my audio needs. Over all they have been great. This last time lets just say I got one awesome deal. The installation was awesome and professional. Although the system did have technical issues the team worked hard to solve the problem. They apologized for my having to come back a couple times. But in the end it was the amp that was creating the problem so they replaced it with another brand new amp. I even have gone back to have them adjust it to my liking and they have no problem making time to give me awesome customer service. All in all I am pleased with windward audio. I had an alarm installed last week and was very pleased with the service and the Viper Two Way alarm system. The owner stayed open after closing to make sure everything was done that day. Today, 11/28/2020, as I was coming out of Safeway my alarm wouldn't work. I would get a beeping sound but it wouldn't unlock my car or disarm the alarm. I kept trying it over and over as it started to rain. I was at a loss. Who do I call to help me? What is AAA going to do? As a last resort, I called Windward Audio and spoke to Tim about my problem. He was exceeding patient as I didn't know left from right, up from down, and didn't make it easy for me. He said that he would send someone over and call me right back. I couldn't believe he even made that offer let alone call me right back promptly. He was able to walk me through the steps over the phone and get everything back to normal. I had inadvertently pressed the program button that put the alarm in a different mode and there was nothing wrong with the alarm itself. I just have to familiarize myself with all the alarm functions and read the user manual. I had no idea what I would have done without Tim's help. It's one thing to provide good service and a quality product. I expect that from all service and product providers. It's the ones that go way above and beyond and put in the extra customer service that separates them from the pack. Thank you so much, Tim! I have given these guys one too many times installing audio and equipment in my truck. The 1st install should've been a breeze. It took them 4 hours to install a touch screen head unit. When I went to pick it up, I noticed my unit wasn't mounted correctly. I informed the owner and his response was "oh well, we don't have brackets for that". So basically my unit falls out of the slot or the screen won't open because it's pushed to far in from falling out? Wow, great installation said no one ever. The second installment was for an upgraded head unit. Same issue.. no brackets, not seated properly etc.. The owner again tells me "get a bracket and we'll fix it for you". Um, this is a so called professional car installation place, right? Wrong! During this install I added some amps and a sub. The didn't mount my amps properly ( no self locking screws to the floor. You can basically lift the amps right on out. And now water comes through my floor panel.. lovely.) They were also so dam lazy that they couldn't route my wires for the amps properly. So I have static fuzz that comes through when listening to my music or videos. Wtf kinda install place is this! They tried to charge more for god knows what. And when I pointed out how things don't work as they should, installment was crappy like a kid did it, the owner said oh sorry would you like a crappy burnt DVD. Wow.. I will NEVER refer or give them business again. All these people giving them 5 stars.. why? I'm not the only one that has complained about their installation or customer service. I have coworkers who have complained about the same things. Now we know.. never going there again. They're not cheap, they obviously don't know how to install equipment and devices properly and they try to jip you on costs. I called to get a price on a wiring kit because it was by my house and only a couple bucks more than walmart and I figured I'd end up saving in gas. When I got there it somehow doubled in price and when asked why, the guy said because it has something extra. First of all he could've told me that over the phone because I had givin him the exact information, so apparently he just acted like he was looking it up. Secondly, he didn't even give me the part that apparently made it double in price! Why isn't there a zero or negative stars option? Would you like to get fucked over? Well here's the place to do just that. We had a alarm system installed late last year. Since then, every damn day there is something wrong with our car. Our battery drains and we've had to replace it numerous amounts of times, our alternator needed to be replaced, and our engine light constantly turns off and on. We've had several second opinions and all the facts and figures point towards the alarm system. We had an agreement with the guys to unplug the system for a week and see how our car acted. A week passed and our car started up everyday, perfectly fine. We then had the system plugged back in and yet again, PROBLEMS! These guys won't take the blame for anything. They won't give me a refund either! I went ahead and asked my bank for advice and they told me to dispute the transaction. If you don't know how a dispute works let me fill you in, you call, file the dispute, the bank lets the company know, the company gets an X amount of time to appeal the dispute, if they don't, you win. Well, we won. After the guys caught wind of that they decided to call my cell phone and harass me. Telling me to cancel the dispute and that they'd give us store credit. Why the fuck would I want to do more business with you guys. I told them I'd cancel the dispute if I got a refund and that they could have the product back. Nope, they didn't wanna do that. Now, they want to file a police report because we "stole" their product. Its been drama since the beginning. A wise man told me today, "take a look at the cars parked outside of the shop and you'll know if they do good work." read more

I bought a new Pioneer deck from them, not even a year ago and it's only been problems. They had the wire feed through my glove box, broke a clip so my glove box just falls out when you open it. Then the USB cord they supplied me with stopped working after one month. & I'm not talking white apple cord, I'm talking black aux cord that I plug my personal USB into. Took it back and they fed it through my center console instead. Well, that also stopped working so I took it somewhere else. Where they then told me, the deck may be Pioneer, but the cage and everything else was Kenwood. Assumed it was used and I didn't even get it done professionally because the HOT GLUE gun job was shit. Also informed me that there really isn't anything they could do because I'm going to have the same problems pop up here and there and should probably just get a new radio. Again, it's not even one year old. Never going back for car work. Maybe to bitch them out and get some kind of compensation. Also, I have a Mercedes, not some busted bucket. read more
